I own the floodlight camera ( wired) and two wireless cameras. I have two batteries in each of the wireless cameras. The battery housing box is poor design. It hinges from one side with a push button to open battery compartment. When you open battery box it is difficult to get it to snap shut properly. Also the lithium batteries seem to drain fast with about one month for one battery in battery compartment. Another strange thing is when I took both batteries out of housing to charge. The " device health" was showing " online" and the battery % charged was still displayed even though batteries were both removed?

Garbage

Use any other security service you can. These guys erase all your video without notifying you. Even when you pay them, they erase them all and you have to start over from the day you figure out that you have to pay. NO warning! Just gone.

After 15 months of purchasing my second Ring doorbell, the MIC stopped working. They got me to try everything and then said it was a hardware issue. They said it was out of the 1 yr warranty. They said they could give me a discount but that's it. I said why would I support your product if it only lasts just out of warranty. This was the second time this has happened. The first the battery wouldn't charge after 17 months.
Save your money and purchase a better product. They suck.

Can't count on ring

We installed a ring doorbell. The idea is great. The operation is less than poor. Ring sent us a new doorbell to try because I complained. I installed it. Still didn't work right. So my wife bought an up to date new I-phone just to see if our 5S phones were the problem. Ring still does not work properly. By the time it engages (if at all) the people or person would be long gone and we would have to bring up "history" to see who it was (fedx, ups, post office). Fortunately it is not someone trying to case the place or cause us harm in anyway because they would have a big head start by the time we got the Ring to work (if at all).

Very disappointing to say the least.

Anyone know of a good product that actually does what it says it will do?

We do have cameras so we rely on them. Just thought this Ring doorbell would be a added plus to the cameras in some way. I guess not.

I am very disappointed with the Ring product. It appears that it was not properly debugged and tested to be ready for product launch. They focused on bring a poor product to market quickly and get visibility to be acquired before the masses discover the issues with the product. The product stopped connecting to the wifi despite many tries. I have called the them numerous times but kept on hold incessantly.

This product is a lemon

We initially purchased the Ring video doorbell following a favorable WSJ review (what a mistake). The first product Ring sent us was an outright lemon and never worked. Then after several hours on the phone with Ring tech support and our electrician at vast expense, Ring agreed to send us a replacement. That worked for a brief time (a few months) and then stopped working altogether.

Our unit was hardwired into our electrical system but apparently kept blowing out the transformer it was wired to even though the transformer capacity was as specified in the Ring literature. The device health tab said that the device was fully charged but the glowing white light indicated that the battery wasnt fully charged. What a frustrating and expensive waste of time.

We have spent hundreds of dollars with our electrician trying to get this device to work. Weve now pulled the plug on this faulty device and we're telling all our friends not to buy this piece of garbage.

I have a ring doorbell with solar battery. The battery stopped working and ring operator told me they'd replace it at no charge. That was in Sept 2022. In Oct 2022 I had not received it and called to check on the order; I was told it is out of stock and would ship in two weeks. Today is 11 January 2023; I called and was told it is still out of stock. I told them Amazon has had it throughout this period. No further info from them. I will stay out of Ring products.

Waste of money.

First you pay 199.00 for a doorbell. Then using your WiFi purchased through your paid providerthey charge you 100.00 a year to use it. Motion shows cars driving by after they are passed. People at front door after they walk away. If you don't pay 100 a year you can't see who is at your door at all. RIP OFF.

My order page autocompleted the address field incorrectly, I called to change the address immediately and after 20 minutes on hold was told this had been done. I checked the next morning and the order still showed the wrong address. I was told it was now too late and nothing could be done and that I should have cancelled the order originally although I asked if this was necessary on my original call and was told it was not.

Ring Doorbell Pro worked fine for the first year. After we came home from vacation after the first year the system was offline and we have never been able to use it since even with help from the Ring support team. We are looking to replace it, but not with Ring.

Login not logical
June 23, 2020

Yesterday (06/22/2020) the ring app on my phone required me to log back in. When I tried to log back in a message came that I had to get a verication number from my email. I was not home so I had to call someone at home to log in to my email to retrieve the verication number.
What if I did not have someone to get the verification number for me? I would not be able to monitor my ring which goes against the "always home" that ring promotes.
So basically, I am away from home and need to monitor my home. To login I need to verify with a number from my email which is at home. What if I cannot get the verification number because I am not at home? Makes no sense.

Bait & Switch

Ring is a company that gets you to buy the hardware and to use that hardware you then need a subscription, that subscription goes up every year, there is no way to use the devices without a subscription, so you are buying both hardware and later a subscription to use the hardware you own. They have created it so you can't even log in to ring.com without calling customer service, who then, guess what? Try to sell you more hardware and subscriptions. Awful company run by Amazon.

What a nightmare!

My wife called Ring to cancel our service.
The customer service representative told my wife that she had to go through the process
One hour later we our still trying to cancel.
Finally I told them to just cancel and no longer needed. Never ever will we use ring

Terrible customer service

The customer service is terrible. For the first time after installing the doorbell I called ring customer service. I was asked to uninstall the doorbell to find a QR code from it's back so they can help me! If this code was so essential why didn't they asked the customer to save it somewhere? Why don't they have it to send to the customers? They only kept repeating themselves. I will return the doorbell if I can. Besides the connection to the mobile is not instant and has enough delay that can endanger your security and you can't rely on it for your property security.

Don't buy this product
August 10, 2017

Really bad customer support. I had three ring flood lights which none of them worked for me. I had to call customer support over 15 times. By the time I decided I didn't want it any more and wanted my refund they had to process the refund twice. It's been over 15 days that I process the order and still nothing that I get my money back. I had to call again, they told me they couldn't do anything for me just reprocess the refund and wait another 7-10 business days. Awful product. Needs more work.

I called in to Ring customer service on an installation issue and was dished out the worst customer service ever.
The company needs to employ people with "people skills" at least the person I talked to was rude and abrasive.

You purchase their product create an account but they will not give you access to your account unless you submit to them having complete control over your account. Who's account is it mine or theirs? Apparently its theirs because they will not let me verify its me without pushing the button on their device. Which i can't do because I do not work from my house. All i want is to set up the app on my new phone but I can't unless I hit the button on the doorbell, I'm not home how am I gonna hit the button? That's why I got the doorbell. So I could see who hit the doorbell when I'm not home.

Expensive

I had purchased the Ring 3. The one unit was over $200, plus I purchased the warranty to go with it. You have to have WiFi access, which is $75 per month. Then you have to pay for the Ring Service. My question is why? I'm providing all the costs for it to even work. Why must I pay monthly for service?

Ring Pathlights

It's sad when you purchase pathlights and the are suppose to be water resistant, but then it gets water in it from the rain and you are told it's not covered because of the act of nature. Bull $#*! waste of money.

Don't bother!
March 21, 2022

Works, then it doesn't work, works then it doesn't work. I get black screens when trying to play back. Now it's funny how it worked when I first got it and now it does not work, are they wanting me to upgrade? I have a tv in the guest room right where the ring camera is, so I know it's not the router.
