  • Rocket-resume

My son ( in his early 20's) complained to me that he was seeing two charges on his credit card from this company for $29.95. He started building his resume because they advertised " free" resumes. He thought this was a one time online resume creation. At the end of the online process it showed a fee of $1.95. Which he paid. It was never clearly stated he was signing up for a monthly membership with recurring fees. And he never received text or email notices of each recurring charge. The Better Business Bureau rates them as "F". Lots of complaints online regarding this.

Tip for consumers:
Do they really have a “ free” service to build a resume? Read the fine print about their fees and cancellation policies.

I have been a Amazon Prime member for years. For the most part they are very good at getting a order out and delivered fast. But their customer service is poor. They start off with the old AI online ploy. No response back once the thread conversation starts. Then a phone call to a person that is difficult to understand. That person tries to email me and text me for verification. Those emails and texts never came to me. I asked if the person could call me on a landline ( another number) and they said yes but never did.

Tip for consumers:
Dont bother trying to use their AI “ customer service” call them dirct at *******331

My review was concerning eBay's " money back guarantee " to "buyers" which puts a burden on "sellers" for a potential loss of the sale, loss of money for item and shipping costs and potential loss of "seller's" item if not being mail returned after a " not as described " complaint is issues by " buyer".
I filed a complaint with the BBB. At that point eBay DID respond to my complaint. EBay AGREED to pay me for the price the original winning bid price of the watch. Yet before writing my complaint to the BBB. My appeal was closed and eBay allowed the "buyer" to keep the ( my) watch, and he got a refund for what he originally paid for the watch, because My account was debited the cost of the sale price of the watch. I appreciate eBay's reconsideration and only hope they will change their business model. As for me I'm onto to other companies of C2C potential where I won't sign up unless I like their business model. Without satisfaction from both parties of C2C sale/auction inventory will dwindle which does not make for a good experience for potential " buyers". There has to be a "Win Win" for both involved in C2C transactions.

Ebay favors buyers in " money back guarantee " policy

Ebay buyers can return anything as long as they state "not as described" after the won bid sale. I sent proof to Ebay that buyer was wrong and dishonest in his rationale for a return. EBay still favored the buyer in the dispute. Then Ebay reversed their decision and favored me in the dispute. Then Ebay again reversed the decision and favored the "buyer". Buyer then was refunded what he paid for the watch and kept my watch. EBay did not assist me in getting my watch back. I lost the sale and my watch to Ebay's " money back guarantee " policy. Watch was brand new, worth $200. I will cancel my Ebay membership that I have had for years. Amazon and Etsy are just two of many new E commerce choices I have to switch over to. I wasn't aware of these draconian rules of Ebay that favors the buyer almost always. The internet is full of lawsuits and complaints regarding this very issue. Know that if buyer asks for a refund, you have 3 days to send them a prepaid shipping label to mail your item back to you. Yes YOU have to pay for the shipping cost to get your property back. And if you don't do this in time Ebay will close the case in the " buyers" favor. In my case Ebay was vacillating back and forth in it's decision in the case. Then suddenly closed the case refusing to open the case for arbitration of me getting my property item ( watch) back, or compensation. EBay representatives said " we never saw the item for sale, therefore we don't know the true condition of what your item of sale was in". And for this reason they have to take the word of the buyer that "not as described" statement from " buyer's " complaint is accurate.

Tip for consumers:
Know that if you sell a item your at risk of having to return the item if buyer makes excuses such as “ not as described”. Doing research on the web shows Ebay usually favors the buyer in a dispute over a return request by buyer. And in my case buyer kept my item and received a full refund and my Ebay account was debited. Total loss to me as a seller.

I ordered two of these masks. They seem to be of good quality but they are very expensive at $69.00 each. My wife didn't like the fit as it closely fits just around the nose and mouth leaving little space for mouth movement. So I wanted to return one of the unopened boxes for a refund. If you click on their web site you will see a hotlink for " customer service". But it doesn't load anything. You can't call them. After two emails and robo email responses It took a few weeks before they finally responded by email with mail Product back information. I'm waiting to see how long it takes for a credit card refund on the mask.

Tip for consumers:
They are selling face masks related to protection from covid-19

  • HomeAdvisor (Powered by Angi)

I have used Home Advisor a few times with mixed results in satisfaction with who they recommended. One person came unprepared with the tools he would need for tree trimming and asked to borrow mine. He also relieved himself in a bush in my front yard.
I used a appliance repair company. When I found out the outrageous price to fix a appliance I told him I'd do it my self. He then still charged me close to $100.00 for " traveling fees". With the help of YouTube I did the repair for 75% percent less then what he wanted but was still at a $100.00 loss to pay someone who just drove his repair truck to my house. HomeAdvisor would not post my review because they said I didn't use the repair service.

  • Uber

I used Uber for the first time while in Italy. Tried two times to find my drivers. They had my hotel name. I was waiting outside for them. One driver never showed up. The other was late. Said he was waiting for me down the street. I Cancelled. Uber then charges me 20 euros for two rides that never happened. It took a " act of congress" to get a refund. They don't have customer service phone support. Just email and a self help system that has pre- chosen choices for you to pick regarding your problem. Then It directs you to a AI type system which is no help. Until this multi million dollar company decides to invest in real phone support with a real C. S agent, I'll never use them.

I own the floodlight camera ( wired) and two wireless cameras. I have two batteries in each of the wireless cameras. The battery housing box is poor design. It hinges from one side with a push button to open battery compartment. When you open battery box it is difficult to get it to snap shut properly. Also the lithium batteries seem to drain fast with about one month for one battery in battery compartment. Another strange thing is when I took both batteries out of housing to charge. The " device health" was showing " online" and the battery % charged was still displayed even though batteries were both removed?
