The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by consistent complaints regarding product reliability and customer service. Customers frequently express dissatisfaction with the performance of devices, citing issues such as poor video quality and connectivity problems. Additionally, the customer service experience is notably negative, with many reviewers reporting long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and inadequate support for troubleshooting. While some users appreciate the initial functionality of the products, the recurring themes of frustration and disappointment suggest a pressing need for the company to enhance both product quality and customer service responsiveness to improve overall customer satisfaction.

Decent cameras but if you ever need help the customer service is a frustrating spiral. Hung up on me 3 times. No refund. Have to beg to get your money back after returning. There are SO many other companies out there that have better service and great cameras. AVOID!
The ring product is always off-line and the only way to fix it is to get out an extension ladder to push the button.
The camera stops working when you get 10 feet from the router. The system when it works doesn't pick up people just moving cars when it does pick anything up at all. I was given it as a gift and it's going in the trash I'm not even regifting it
Seems like Ring uses Ebay's 3rd world customer service. This product is not ready for prime time. The "instructions" looked like Ikea printed them. There are a multitude of possible pitfalls when Router, Modem, Smartphone Etc. are involved. Ring is a few years away from a good product here.
I had purchased the Ring 3. The one unit was over $200, plus I purchased the warranty to go with it. You have to have WiFi access, which is $75 per month. Then you have to pay for the Ring Service. My question is why? I'm providing all the costs for it to even work. Why must I pay monthly for service?
Having doorbell powered by ac the battery still discharges.
Most times the doorbell rings and person has long gone by the time you get video up,
Security screws easily dropped and/or lost.
Screw terminal for ac power garbage.
We were notified that our account had been compromised, and Ring suggested we change our password.
So I go to the Ring website to login. It accepts my email and password, but then wants secondary verification by sending me an email with a verification code.
I enter the code only to be told it was invalid. So I ask for a second code Ring sends me the IDENTICAL code number as the first one. I enter it again PRECISELY, no errors, and it says the code is invalid.
Then Ring locks me out for 24 hours.
So I try chat only to be told that new device setup and technical problems arent handled by chat (since when?). None of the choices Ring gives me for contacting them is for addressing my issue.
Nothing works to contact Ring (forget calling... you will be put on forever hold), so I contact Amazon, who owns ring. I send Amazon an email only to get a reply that they don't accept direct emails.
Net/net... if you can't resolve your problem with their totally inadequate help center you are simply screwed.
Same with Amazon.
1. It's from amazon - alexa RECORDS you, including during sex
2. There are less expensive products
3. If you buy it through ring, it is a TOTAL HASSLE - 10 MINUTES on the phone with someone from a 3rd world country even before i know how to return them
4. They take a lot of time to refund $$$ to your credit card
Horrible customer service. Had to call multiple times in regards to my order, couldn't give me any information but to go look at my ring account or wait for the email response. Haven't even received the product yet, but disappointed about responses I have been getting.
I got the system, it rings constantly no matter how many times I change the sittings! I have to activate constantly! I paid them $$$ and got absolutely NOTHING! The lights come on even when no one is present! What a waste of time and money!
Paid over 200$ for this camera and it only lasted about 2 years, first of all, they never tell you that, you need to have very fast and long range internet to connect to it. I ended up having to buy a Wifi extender, that did not help very much at all. Whenever you got an alert on your phone and tried to view it by calling up the app to see what was going on. By the time you got connected whatever caused it was long gone. So there was no chance of me speaking to them through the camera like they do so easily in their commercials, and lastly they also never mention that, the camera can't be placed in directly sun light, which is crazy because if you are outdoors eventually at some point you will probably get direct sun light. But because of that, the picture seen from the camera turned a green tint. So to conclude I will never buy another one again, and if it hadn't been for having it for 2 years already, I would have tried to return it.
My old ring doorbell became very dysfunctional and eventually stopped working. I decided to try an upgraded one. I'm not so sure it was the best idea now. Even though we have it hardwired in, they said we have to remove it and charge the battery if there are too many alerts. When it's hardwired it only charges at 10% per day. I think that greatly reduces the reliability and makes it inconvenient to unscrew it and detach the wires to bring it in and charge it. That is a hassle. We have it set up on people only mode, yet it catches the mail truck going by, but not a person walking past on the sidewalk, which is closer to the doorbell. I don't think people only mode is useful at all if it doesn't capture a person. For the amount that is charged for these doorbells they should be more precise and reliable as well as have a better battery life. *We do have our settings tweaked so it doesn't go off any more than necessary, but the battery still runs low. The loading time for a video after the activity was very very slow so I called, and they said I had to update the firmware. I did that and it was greatly improved, however it would be nice to be notified when there is an update that is necessary to keep things running at peak response.
I ordered the Ring Doorbell from the Amazon Website on Jan 15th and it was delivered on Jan 18th. During the process of setting up the app and doorbell, I noticed the mounting plate was missing. I immediately call Ring to get the missing part. I waiting for days and called back on Jan 27th. The agent (Linda) told me that she would have the item expediated to me and I would have it in 3 days. No mounting plate received. I called back and this agent tells me I would have it on Feb 4th by 9pm and that they do not offer expediated service. It clearly states on the website under Canceling, Returns, Missing items that they do offer expediated service. Clearly, the experience dealing with Ring Customer gives me pause to ever do business with them in the future.
I have a total of 23 ring products in my home.
- 14 Piece Ring Alarm with Professional Monitoring
- 4 Path Lights
- 1 Step Light
- 2 Spot Lights
- 2 Floodlight Battery
3 Weeks ago, I contacted Ring Support to inform that the 2 Floodlight Batteries were flickering and need to be replaced. The female rep I spoke to did some troubleshooting and after 30 mins informed me that a replacement order has been submitted and I should receive them shortly.
Fast forward 2 weeks and I received nothing. I call Ring again and speak with a male rep who tells me the "previous agent" I spoke to did everything wrong and nothing was processed. He proceeds to tell me he will "fix" this issue and send out the two replacement floodlights and asked me to send him the picture of the serial numbers for both floodlights which I did. Fast forward 5 days and I receive just "one" flood light. I call Ring support again and now a female rep, tells me that the previous rep only ordered "one".
Tell me if this is ridiculous or not!
3 Calls and I ask for the supervisor (whose name is "Rose") who tells me they do not have the email or number for the "Ring complaints" division and I need to look at the Ring packaging for more details on who to contact.
I am on the line with them as I write this review and guess what, they had put me on hold, and the line just cuts off. Surprise!
I am totally disappointed that the Ring Company belonging to Amazon has such terrible support. You would think they would at least offer you a discount or waive the product charge for me spending 3 calls of my life for their mistake.
Such a Shame.
If someone from Ring or Amazon does decide to take action on this review, please look up the below request ID's:
Request ID Plc26d5-4758 – This was where the male rep only ordered one replacement instead of two
Request ID Plc3832-c004 – This was where the second replacement was ordered.

The Ring Pro stopped working after a month and out of frustration I stopped dealing with it. When I finally decided to fix it or get rid of it, they told me it was out of warranty and they couldn't do anything. They agreed that it no longer worked, but they wouldn't stand behind it. What a piece of junk. Don't buy this product.
You can not use chat for trouble shooting their devices, so you have to carve extra time out of your day to call them. Then, after spending an eternity on hold listening to god-awful sales pitches (more than 20 minutes), a representative has you do the trouble shooting tips you already tried, and then wants you to do them again. None of which work. This product is useless, so is their 'customer service' and I would not recommend either.
This company has turned into a complete joke. First, they force you to wait on hold for 30 minutes in order to get a service code that proves you are who you say you are. But that isn't enough, they then tell you to jump up in down in front of your camera to prove it is you so they can activate the device. "It's for your own security, sir". Sound familiar? Ring has literally become the Covid lockdown of camera companies with their new "high security" virtue signalling. Is this really the best that Silicon Valley has to offer? Sad. Ditching cloud camera services altogether after this ridiculous experience. I'm not entrusting my feeds to a company this janky.
This is our second Ring ( tbf the company did replace the first as it had exactly this same issue)
This machine loses battery life after 2 days even with reduced motion settings set - also it has a selective memory for capturing visitors - all in all a disaster and we won't be bothering asking for another. Avoid as a total rip off!
Consistently from Saturday night, late, until Sunday morning, my device buzzes to announce 'front door motion' but the screens, if not black, do not show motion - - - except for the time that there was a mountain lion passing a big bush, which I do have at the end of my driveway, BUT that bush is obscured by a tree (leaves/ branches) AND THAT SAME PICTURE WAS ON THE INTERNET DAYS BEFORE WIITH THE CAPTION OF A MOUNTAIN LION BEING SPOTTED IN A CALIFORNIA SUBURB. Anyway from 430A CST 14 December 2020 through to 343P CST, my device buzzed me 49 (fortynine) times about motion at my front door BUT SHOWED MY ONLY THE FRONT YARD - - - NO MOTION/NOBODY-NOTHING MOVING. Decided to call RING and speak to a supervisor or manager to complain about harassment (remember the RING person accessing an indoor camera in a little girl's bedroom?). Held for over 40 minutes and reached Patrick in the Philippines who couldn't help me because I can't access my email account after snarkily responding to a RING email. Then he needed the device serial number but didn't have a supervisor available (I think he answered my call from his home) and transferred me to Jordan who was reported to be a technician in Jamaica. Jordan needed a MAC number from my device and stated he believed it has been hacked. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE RING DOORBELL.
I HAVE A SHOOTING VIDEO AND IT WAS REFUSED BY RING. RING ACCEPTED THE SAME KIND OF VIDEO FROM SOMEONE ELSE BUT DIDNT ACCEPT MY VIDEO. I WANT ANSWERS OR MY ATTORNEY WILL BE NOTIFYING RING.
Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
Answer: It does not work the way it is presented on T. V. The inability to immediately respond "LIVE" to an event renders it useless.
