I made reservations on line without using Reservations.com, but somehow they billed me for services that they did not provide. How does this happen? Trying to get an direct answer from them is impossible. It appears that they hide their fee in the total amount charged for the reservation. I think they're scamming people by adding their fee to reservations that they have nothing to do with. Avoid Reservations.com.
If I could give them a ZERO, I would. Customer Service is a nightmare - you are placed on hold for 45+ minutes, to speak with someone who can barely speak English, to be put back on hold and then disconnected. And the only way to speak with someone is to pretend you want to book something. Also, what legitimate site charged $19.99 for the privilege of using their site? And sneakily tack it on. Do yourself and your credit card a favor, and use something else, or call the hotel directly. Reservations.com and CCI.com are connected, and are truly no more than a scam.
My son booked a room when he got on the site not realizing it was not the hotel website. His booking showed like it was being done in CAD, but then when he received his confirmation it was in USD! (exact same numbers, just mysteriously changed to USD) He cancelled right away, but of course the $20 service fee is non-refundable. Contacting their customer support is no help. They dodge the question of why it changes from CAD to USD.
The elevator was out our entire stay and we were on the 3rd floor. Two 59 year old ladies with knee issues - really!? And we had gone to the Texas Country Reporter Festival and had to drag our purchases up 3 flights of stairs, sort, then drag them down again. Very disappointed in our stay. Breakfast was horrible. Hot water with pieces of oatmeal floating in it. Pancake machine did not work during our entire stay. Stale muffins.
I unfortunately had to cancel my room reservation the day after I booked it. I was told I would get my full refund within 24hrs. Well it ended up taking over 35 days... and that was after many phone calls and emails. This company is a joke. Do not book with them!
I attended a wedding in New Orleans. Wedding party had a special code. I thought that I was booking through Hotel's official website. Turns out, google directed me to reservations.com. They acted like they were the hotel. When asked about the wedding party's discount, they said all rooms had been taken, which apparently wasn't true.
So I booked. I went to site week of the trip. Reservation.com had exact same hotel rooms in same hotel for much cheaper. They would not give me the new rate, which was being offered by their site. Unbelievable.
So lucky that I decided to read the terms of service. Who does that? Not me. But I wondered if this was pay in advance or just a reservation that could be cancelled. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the non-refundable fee. Quick quick close that browser window!
I made a reservation and within minutes I cancelled it, the following morning the pulled out 750.00 from my bank anyway, they are telling me it will be 14 to 30 days before I get a refund... this operation is a total rip off!
DO NOT USE THEM!
Terrible customer service and totally inflexible system. Had to modify reservations to cancel one of three nights. They had to cancel the total reservation and rebook. They then told us the rooms were not available for nights we already had previously reserved. Proceed using them at your own risk especially if you might need to make any changes.
I was in Little Rock for medical testing at UAMS. This was my first stay at Guest Inn and Suites. I could not have been more pleased. The suite was clean. The lobby area is warm and cozy and a lovely place to sit and relax. My primary reason for staying here was the free transportation to and from UAMS. With only one small glitch, the transport was excellent, timely, safe, and pleasant. I come to Little Rock several times per year and this will be my future choice. The location is perfect, with restaurants within one block, a L. A. Fitness and Target and shops within walking distance. Loved it.
I booked a two night stay with this company for a hotel room. The hotel room was dirty and ac was not working. So I called the company to get my money back for the second night. I called around 7 am in the morning giving them plenty of notice. They said I had to check out and get manager approval before I could get my money back. I did all of that then there next excuses was that they could not reach the hotel for confirmation. I said fun because the hotel responded right away when I asked. Then I talked to the manger he said it would be 7 days to maybe get my money back no promises. I have not heard anything back from them yet. The hotel room was suppose to be $79.00 a night my credit card was charge two charges it end up being over $100 each night. This hotel was not even worth $50 let alone $100. I do not have a problem with the hotel manger this is clearly reservation.com management problems. I will tell everyone I know never to use their site very unprofessional and frauds.
Went to the St Francis Hotel San Francisco web sit and called the number to link my reservations with my friends. I gave their reservation number and was I was mislead to believe I was talking directly with the hotel.
When I realized a week later that my reservation was different then my friends who had a special package only the Hotel offers. I tried to cancel my reservation with reservation.com over 5 weeks before my hotel stay so I could book directly with the hotel like I thought I was to begin with. Worse customer service I have ever dealt with. I was disconnected 6 times in the 10 calls I had to make in two day. I am contacting my credit card company to dispute the charges. From the other reviews on this page Reservation.com is a scam and a bait and switch. You are re routed off the hotels web site to reservation.com. Then you are mislead. Worse customer service ever.
This should be illegal.
Reservation.com hacked into Quality Inn site to steal their business. I thought I was booking directly. After I booked a room that was suppose be $64, I received the confirmation which charged me a total of $38 in taxes and fees! I called customer support who kept hanging up on me! I called the hotel where I had booked to find out the room they reserved for me was not what they advertised and the cost was NOT $64 but $49! So they made a killing on that room! BEWARE they are thieves!
My wife thought she was making a hotel booking directly on the hotel's website. We and the hotel being booked are located in Canada. When we saw our credit card statement, not only were we charged in US dollars by reservations.com (1.4x the cost), we were charged a booking fee of almost $30, all of which is completely non-refundable! Such scammers - avoid them like the plague!
We will never use Reservations.com again. This is our only experience with them and it was an absolutely horrible! Non-caring customer service and charged a fee in addition to the room charge. When we called back they said there's nothing they could do about it. Why didn't they just say there's nothing they wanted to do. They were quite willing to overcharge us.
I personally use reservations.com all the time for looking into my travel needs. Very concise, thorough, and lots of options for me and my family when it comes to traveling. My Number 1 go to website.
I made a mistake and hit on their website thinking it was Hilton Inn website. When I called the number and some middle eastern man named Michael answered they immediately started firing questions and he was very rude. I asked him if this was actually the Hilton Inn reservationists and he said yes. When me and my wife got to the hotel we found out we could have saved over 50.00. Would have given them a lower score if it were possible.
Out of all the booking sites out there, I tried Reservations.com after several of my friends swore by it. True to what they said Reservations.com didn't disappoint. Glad I booked my hotel here during a short vacay we had at Miami!
So disappointed that there is a surcharge of $14.99US upon booking my reservations. I will not use this company again and will certainly advise everyone I know to do the same. I there was notice Then I missed it. Total scam!
Site was misleading and made to look similar to the hotel site. Lied about the reservation being non-refundable (called the hotel direct, they said it was refundable). No mention of the $14.99 service fee. Charged more than double the actual taxes ($20.98 vs $8.99 as shown on the hotel site). Would not show the total amount to be billed until after the transaction went through. This place is a total ripoff.

Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
