Never received email receipt. Called and spent hours on the phone with them trying to track one down. Tons of mysterious add on fees appeared on my cc, including a booking fee of 14.99 paid directly to reservations.com. Avoid, avoid, avoid!
I am just so thankful for reservations.com. Finding a good hotel to stay in a place you're going to visit for the first time is difficult especially if you don't know anyone that can recommend one to you! Glad I found this site. I just searched for the hotels in New York and I had no problem finding one that had great reviews and suited my budget! Thanks again!
I had the same experience as everyone else. I went to book via a hotel's website and was redirected to reservations.com. I didn't even notice it happened until reviewing the receipt. All sales are final so changes aren't possible, only cancellations. Their Customer Service was a round robin of jargon and being put on hold repeatedly. I alerted the hotel about the scam and they claimed they'd look into it but it seems like as long as they got paid they don't really care.
Took forever to make reservation, Very difficult to understand, lied about the type of room, cost far more than the hotel charges, very difficult to cancel. Just stay away!
P.S. Sitejabber - Look at the 5 star reviews-they are so obviously fake.
They somehow get their site to show up as first option in a search. Then, they do not make the customer aware of very non-refundable and unchangeable reservation conditions until AFTER the confirmation email is sent. At that point, it's too late. My client is arriving a day early and I cannot change alter the reservation without paying the full rate PLUS $19.99. I will try to report to the BBB. This site should not be allowed to operate.
I googled the hotel to make a reservation. They came up first and I did not realize I was making a reservation through them. They charged me forty dollars more than I could have gotten from the hotel directly. When I called their toll free number, I spoke with a call service outside America. She was very rude and hung up on me when I asked to speak with her supervisor. Darryl Isaacs
From the outside, my husband and I were worried. It is close to the freeway. Upon entering, everything had been updated. They have a happy hour and the hot breakfast was really really good. For the price, you can't beat it!
A window pops up while I'm trying to make a reservation. Says it will provide the cheapest rate. It didn't. Not only that, I had to cancel the night before because the folks I was traveling with got covid. They refused to refund my money.
Despicable company. Don't be fooled by their empty promises
They have got the best booking deals. I have used their service twice so far but I am pretty sure that I will be needing them for every trip from now onwards. Thoroughly impressed by quick service, variety of hotel options and their super accomodatimg and understanding customer care staff.
I reserved with them online and once I realized that they are charging in U.S. currency, I cancelled the reservation but got charged twice for making one reservation. I did not realize that there was a fee regardless if you reserve or cancel the reservation. It is totally ridiculous. It is theft. Ethically it is not right. There should be a one time courtesy no charge fee reversal if this situation happens. I am not the only one. I should have read the reviews first. They are scammers
I had an issue with Reservations.com where they booked the wrong hotel, inadvertantly. This was fully resolved and it appears they have a new management team that is working to make things right. Took care of the situation and fully refunded the mistake.
This company is a scam. I don't know how these people sleep at night. Lying to people all day on the phone must be exhausting I imagine. Putting people on hold, while they are most likely flossing their teeth or filing their nails, then get back to you after blaring music in your ear for five minutes to tell you that they are going to transfer you and put you on hold again. Too many I'm sorry And I do apologize. I don't think they are sorry at all. Just remember foreign speaking people whose English seems to get worse when they can't defend their so called policies... you reap what you sew...
I am out$600+ b/c not willing to modify reservation. Coastal FLOODING. Can not get in the area. Requested to postpone 1 week. I was told no...after being on hold for TEWENTY minutes. Never again. Scam.
Booked a hotel 2 1/2 months in advance through Expedia.
Found out approx. 3 days after booking that the event was taking place in Montreal Quebec not in Kingston Ontario. We cancelled believing that there would be no charge. We would have rebooked at the correct location through Expedia but they returned our original payment less approximately $40.00.
In the future we will book all hotels directly.
I THOUGHT I was booking directly with the hotel. Within 5 minutes of finding out this was a 3rd party, I contacted them only to be told that I could not cancel the reservation because it was for the same day, although check in was 6 hours away. I never received an email confirmation. I immediately called my credit card company to dispute the charges. That was 2 weeks ago. So far I'm out of $100 because of this scam. I was on another site and all 270 complaints were similar to mine and everyone else on here. I Won't go out without a fight!
Horrible customer service - enjoy telling customers that reservations are not REFUNDABLE but the hotel policy says otherwise! Horrible people to talk with, zero customer service, too bad so sad attitude! Avoid this site at all cost, save yourself the headache, save your money and the stress of incompetent people.
How are these people still able to operate is beyond me!
This company is the worst. Looks like hundreds (probably thousands) of people have had the same experience. They set up their site and URL to make it look like it could be the actual hotel website. If there is any notification of the non-refundable fee it must be so small or hidden because I was very careful when booking and I didn't see it. Their customer service is horrible. They are basically one of those call center scam companies just taking $14.95 from tons of people and getting rich off of that.
I am going to make it my mission to make sure that everyone I know never uses this site.
I made my hotel reservation for 5 nights, not realizing that it was non-refundable. It gave me a few minutes to make the reservation, so I felt rushed to make it quickly without reading the fine print. After calling Customer Service, she verified that I cannot cancel my reservation of over $1,000 although I had just made the reservation 10-minutes prior. Buyers: BEWARE of their high pressure tactics to purchase without reading the fine print first. Next time, I will call the hotel directly in order to get a refund for any unexpected emergencies.
Pretend to be Hotel's wesite, no need to sign up or sign in. You don't know your getting charged USD until after transaction has gone through. Lots of hidden fees added on. All reservations not cancellable from what I can tell. Delta/Marriott should not allow this to happen. When you call reservations.com to complain they laugh at you because they know what they're doing.
The agent quoted us one price and then charged us a higher price. When I phoned to enquire the agent would not listen and persisted in talking "over me." I finally had to ask her to please listen so I could explain my concern. She did listen, but then went back to quoting the price and giving no explanation or attempting to resolve the issue. I see why this company has such horrendous reviews. I will never us this company again and will definitely have a discussion with the hotels that utilize this company's services!
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
