I've booked with this site many times and have never been disappointed. I even had to make a change on a reservation right at the last minute and they accommodated my request immediately. I actually place a high value on the sites reviews of each hotel, for they haven't steered my wrong yet- unlike many other sites that just put 5 stars on every hotel- even if they are poor. I'm not sure what the 1 star rankings are on this site? This is the only online booking engine I use for travel and will continue to use.
This is a scam service so please be aware of this! They do not follow their own cancellation policies and there are quite a few hidden charges that you will not know about until it's way too late. They will steel your money.
I made a reservation 6 months ago and with the economy, gas prices, cots of food, I can no longer go away. I called and begged for a refund with no sympathy. I could use the $200 plus I paid back then, but no one will help me. The just kept saying that it was nonrefundable and that is their policy. Beware of using this site. They have no compassion to help when circumstances cause unpredictable hardships.
After an exhausting day, we finally attempted to check into a hotel we booked thru this website. The hotel had no record of our booking even though we had a confirmation email from reservations.com. We called them and we were put on an enormously long hold. We were so tired that we booked a room directly with the hotel. Finally, they came back from their hold and stated they would refund us our money except $20 for whatever reason. My husband was so tired from the ordeal that he didn't hear why and just hung up. What a horrible experience…stay away!
They tried to pretend to be the hotel and then took $484 out of my checking account without my knowledge or authorization. I was on the phone with them 45 minutes trying to get straight answers they never could give. Such as why do they charge 33% "tax and fees" rate when the actual state tax rate for NV is 14%? Answer: Reservations.com is skimming 19% and putting it in their pocket. Why do they have a 14 day cancellation policy when the hotel has a 48 hour cancellation policy? Answer: They conceal they are a third party and make you think you are dealing directly with the hotel. Now I have to wait 7-10 days to get my $484 back that they never informed me they were taking out of my account. Avoid this outfit at all costs!
I strongly urge everyone who is having these awful issues to report to the Better Business bureau. Not only are they practicing deceptively, they have no decency either. They called my home at 3 am! What business does that! They clearly do not operate on US hours and I still do not have the refund I was promised. Looks like I'll have to dispute this through my credit card company. Thank god I have an email and voice mail stating that they will refund me as proof! Everyone needs to file reports to have them investigated.
This scam company should be shut down! Charged me 217.04 for a $74. Room. Gave us such a run around we had to do 2 chargebacks on our credit card- 1 for each of the 2 transactions they charged us. They even kept the refund the hotel agreed that we were due. Hotel issued refund through reservations.com who did Not pass it along to us until I did the chargebacks. Horrible company with horrible customer service! I don't know how their reps can sleep at night knowing they are ripping off innocent people who work very hard for their little money. Shame on the reps and shame on the company's! Thank goodness my credit card finally got me around $124. Refund! It should haves been more but at least I was out only about $20. More than I should have been charged.
I thought i was making a reservation via hotel's website, only to find out that it was through reservation.com, please read the fine print on the bottom, they charge a non-refundable fee of $14.99, even if you cancel with in minutes, reservation.com is a rip-off, i well never again make any reservation trough them
Don't be fooled by the low rates Reservations.Com offers for their rooms! You will be paying an outrageously high amount in service fees for your reservation! Think again before booking with this service!
Reservations.com took $569 from me for one night at a hotel in Tucson Arizona. When I arrived they had no rooms and no record of the reservation. I was forced to find a lesser Hotel farther from my destination which cost me time and money and I will never use reservations.com again
Do not use this I'll loosely call a company. They will cheat you by showing a $5 lower price than other real reservation companies and then stick your charge card for $15 you can not get back.
Please email your favorite hotels and ask them to not except reservation from them. I did. Thanks
I was on Wyndham site, at some point during my attempt to book, my web browse sent me to reservations. Com. I had no idea. When I made several attempts to contact them about all the fees, I was hung up on. After being on hold over 30 minutes. In the photo shows how many times I called. 3X computer hung up on me because it didn't like my selection. The 4th time, a human hung up after, wish y'all could see how long call was. Ridiculous! They suck! Wish I didn't have to give any stars 0 stars.
While searching for a hotel room on expedia.com, I somehow got sent to reservations.com, and had no idea I was there... until a $14.99 booking fee showed up on my credit card! The email confirmation they sent me listed NOTHING about this booking fee. Luckily, AMEX is good about having your back when things like this happen. They investigated and issued a refund.
Like everyone else, I booked thinking they were the site for my hotel and got slammed with an extra fee. Upon getting the confirmation I was slapped with a NO REFUND... if I cancelled at anytime I would be charged the whole fee... even though I was making the reservation months in advance. Beware of extensions. If it says reservations.com, get away fast!
I have found a hotel booking site that I'm going to be sticking with for a pretty long time. Reservations.com is that good. They offer great hotel deals and show you plenty of hotels to choose from too.
Not all can stay in a Ritz or Hyatt, like me. I'm glad that Reservations.com also provides options that are more suited to my budget and provide hotel reviews of others that have stayed in these budget hotels.
I noticed bunch of bad information about them after I made my booking and was little scared but it didn't go as per internet reviews and I was eventually benefitted. So I got to know that the negative remarks are all by their competitors and not at all real, this company is always topping the travel booking charts due to their flawless service.
The worst service I have ever used and after all this covid19 I was glad to get my kids to a little get away. The customer service didn't give me correct info on amenities. To top it off the service and the rooms were dirty not kept, dust, bodily fluids in blankets etc. I called reservations.com and still waiting for my refund was told yet again from another customer service my refund would be in my account in 5 to 7 business days. Still nothing they just respond with thanks for your continuous patience etc!
Make sure to read every fine print. All charges are in US dollars!
When they charge your credit card you all of a sudden get two charges, one for the hotel room, one for a US $14.99 fee which is not mentioned anywhere either.
Should you have to cancel your reservation, the exchange rate of that day is used and of course another 2.5% that your credit card charges - overall it means you'll loose about $20-25. The US $14.99 fee gets never refunded.
I found that booking with hotels directly often gives you a better rate and you can also bargain.
I had to cancel a hotel reservation a month in advance and was told they would not refund my entire charged amount. Not the $19.99 service fee, the entire $253.00 reservation paid in advance. Their website also does not allow customers to note senior-citizen status or require handicap access.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
