GOTCHA! YOU AGREED!
November 4, 2019

Their attitude is pathetic. Their goal is to price gauge you. Their google search engine is slick as it misleads the reader. Once you realized you made a mistake 5 minutes later, they refuse to do anything about it. Their attitude is basically too bad. EVERYONE PLEASE STAY AWAY!

Crooks!
August 22, 2017

Like others, believed I was on the hotel website reservations. Being a Canadian hotel I thought the price was can$. My card was charged as the USD rate converted to C$ at a 30% exchange rate. When I cancelled immediately I was reimbersed at the actual exchange rate, losing about $20Can. Plus I was stung with the admin fee. This is notwhat the cancellation policy indicates. These guys should be in jail.

Scam!
April 16, 2016

I thought I was on the hotel's website when I tried to make a room reservation for one night for a US$61 a night room. After I entered my credit card info, etc. and hit "continue", the site told me I'd just been charged for over $101 - the $61 plus $25 "taxes and fees" and a $14.95 reservation fee. I immediately canceled the reservation, but the site will not refund me my $14.95. I was able to make the reservation through the hotel itself for $61 plus $6 - not $25! - in tax. Reservations.com is a reservations scalper, apparently, buying up rooms and selling them at a disguised markup. By refusing to refund the "reservation fee" they make $14.95 on every transaction, canceled or not. They do not disclose the amount they will charge to your credit card until AFTER it's charged! That is thievery.

I love resarvation.com... they always provide the best rates around and i never had any issues with my resarvations. They are the most reliable reservation website around. When they say guaranteed best rates, they mean it! :)

My wife used reservations.com to research hotels for a recent stay in Boston. She found a good price, and like many of us do, decided to call the hotel direct instead of booking here - but, unfortunately, she used the number from the reservations.com website, so she actually booked through reservations.com. And, they NEVER let on that she was talking to someone at reservations.com... the hotel they booked was actually CLOSED for renovations! We found out because the hotel contacted us and said "if you booked with us, we've cancelled your reservation, but if you used a service, then you have to call them" - I know, stupid us - but again, my wife THOUGHT she was talking to the hotel front desk when she made the reservation, so she never even thought about calling anyone else to cancel anything after reading the email. You see where this is going. We got charged $952.30 for 2 rooms for 1 night in a hotel that was closed, and reservations.com had NO sympathy - they did nothing for us - didn't discount us, didn't offer us another stay another time - they just took all our money for NOTHING. I tried to argue it with the credit card company, and also no luck. So - NEVER USE THIS SITE! They are an evil, vile, nasty organization that puts corporate income above customer satisfaction. I think I should report them to the better business bureau.

GARBAGE! AVOID this service
June 21, 2021

Absolutely garbage. Avoid this service at all costs. Do not use them.

I was placed in a very seedy and shady hotel owned by Hilton. It was ghetto and I was not going to allow my family to stay there. I specifically asked the agent for a safe and clean hotel. There were abandoned shopping carts in the parking lot, the office was dark, and my wife felt unsafe with the type of people that were clearly using the hotel for possible one-hour services.

Then when I tried to transfer to a different Hilton, the DoubleTree, they refused. I paid for another hotel. I paid twice. They refused to reimburse me.

All agents seemed like they were in a different country. Unsure if Reservations.com is owned by Hilton directly or outsourced as a third party from Hilton. Disgusting representation, agents are miserable and I was placed in a very unsafe hotel for a family. In addition, they used aggressive sales tactics, knew we were in need of a place to stay around midnight after a week in Yosemite. The family was very tired. The agents were like sharks.

I had to pay for two hotel rooms.

Avoid this service at all costs

Your program and service are horrendous and embarrassing. I would be ashamed to be a shareholder of your company. I wish I could give you a negative star rating.

Service Fee Rip-off
February 3, 2018

Do not use this website. Stay away! I made a reservation for a Canadian hotel because the price was lower. What wasn't revealed was that the price was in USD. I didn't find this out until I received the confirmation email. I cancelled the reservation within 5 minutes because their price ended up higher than the hotel's price after the conversion.
When I received my next Visa bill there was a charge of $14.99 USD. They deceitfully not disclose all of the fees at the time of reservation and the service fee of $14.99 when the reservation is cancelled. I contacted Customer Service about not disclosing all of the fees. They told me that just how their system works and that it's impossible to refund the service fee. They should refund the service fee.

Scammers
December 9, 2021

Upon reading the reviews after the fact, i realize what a scam this company provides. When booking. I thought i was dealing directly with the hotel of my stay. No. Reservations.com had a spot on the hotels check in page. Long story short, when i received my conformation i see a 19.99 service fee. Within minutes i attempted to cancel. I was told it was n OP n refundable and hung up on three times when i asked for a manager. The fourth call, she splogized for the inconvenience and said she would refund and i would be getting an emai to clarify. No such thing happened and i was charged the service fee after all. This is scamwork and stealing from people. I will attempt again to get the money back. Now its principle. I will be contacting the bbb. Stay away from reservations.com

How to Pay way too much for a reservation
June 8, 2021

Do not use Reservations.com. I tried to make a reservation through the hotel but Reservations.com waylaid me 2 times. The second time I did not realize I was on their website. Made my reservation but could not see the total for the reservation. When I go the email confirmation it was almost for about $62 more than the amount on the website. I expected taxes to be added but the total turns out to be almost $40 more than if I had used the company web site for the hotel. Even after paying Reservations $19.95 charges I will save over $20 on my reservation with the hotel. I called immediately upon seeing the charges and waited for 20 min and 31 seconds for someone to answer the call after 31 minutes I've cancelled my reservation and am waiting to hear from a supervisor at Reservations.com. Supposedly they will return my call within 24 hours. Overall I will make every attempt to avoid this company in the future. PS This is the first negative review I have ever written which should give you an idea of how irritated I am with their service.

Can I give them zero stars?
June 20, 2021

Reservations.com is awful. First they con you into thinking that you are calling the hotel site when in actuality you are not. I guess they have good people ensuring that they come up at the top during Google searches. Nevertheless, my main complaint is that they have unfair practices when it comes to pricing. I booked a room on 6/19/21. They charged me $328 for two nights + $96 for "taxes and fees" + $20 for a service charge... so a total of ~$444. My nephew called less than 24 hrs. Later and booked the the same type room for the same nights. He was charged $328 for two nights + only $47 taxes and fees which were not even added to his subtotal + $20 service fee. I compared both his email receipt and mine. Our total cost differed by almost $100. I called to complain. They said that that was not the case and that the difference in price had to do with the change in inventory that occurred over the course of less than 24 hours. I know this was a lie because I had both receipts as proof (which I include in this review). The truth was that my nephew was not charged "taxes and fees" while I was. When I asked to talk to a manager. I was put on hold for what seemed forever only to be told that a mgr. Was not available. More lies. Needless to say, I cancelled my reservations and disputed the $20 non-refundable service fee with my CC company (who has never failed me yet). Reservations.com is unscrupulous and unethical. Buyer beware!

If 0 stars was an option that would be my choise.

Booked a room on what I thought was the Comfort Inn website. My room charge was supposed to be $119 x 2 plus a sales tax of 14.125% or $271.62. They charged my credit card $299.23. The total included a service charge of $14.99 and extra sales tax of $12.62.
I called them immediately to cancel and they asked me if I would keep the reservation if the
Extra charges were refunded. Stupid part of my brain said OK, still waiting for refund that will never come. I have reported the sales tax overcharge to NYS Sales Tax fraud unit.
Also advised Comfort Inn but they did not seem concerned, perhaps they are in on the scam.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON THE HOTELS WEBSITE BEFORE YOU BOOK!

A total scam - BEWARE!
December 16, 2019

I thought this site was the official site for booking Holiday Inn. Wrong! My hotel reservation was for $81 (according to the hotel) and the site charged me $140.00! No refund. There was no notification in advance for the extra fees. AVOID THIS SITE AT ALL COSTS!

Scam
January 9, 2019

I paid $412 to reserve 2 nights at the Best Western Station Inn through this site, I thought I was directly at the hotel site. After I noticed that booked on a travel site guestreservations.com, I check the price for 2 nights through the Best WEstern Site and it would have been $76 less ($336). I called them and ask to cancel and they said they wouldn't refund any money they would only give me a 10% discount after 5-7 business days after my checkout.

Don't be fooled!
October 31, 2018

The website for the Le Meridien Hotel with Reservations.com looked just like the website for the Le Meridien Hotel. I accidentally booked it on Reservations.com and realized my error immediately. When I tried to cancel it, the reservations.com people said it was nonrefundable and that I should have seen it. But I just didn't. Cost me $200 more than booking with the hotel.

When I was checking out of the hotel, there was an additional $10 charge per day charged by Tan-Tar-A since I used this site, I just thought I was making a reservation, I didn't know this was some kind of special website. My own fault, there is no reason to use a site like this unless it offers a great discount and this didn't

Deceptive
November 6, 2018

I goovled a hotel in Denver and thought I was on the hotel website and called the phone number listed and a woman answered the phone. I was not able to understand what she said when she answered the phone so I asked If I was calling Wooleys in Denver by the airport and she said yes. I booked the hotel and then received an email with my reservation confirmation and noticed it was from reservations.com and not from Wooleys. I called the phone number in email and told reservations.com that I was lied to and I had asked if I was talking to Wooleys and was told yes and that was not true. They would not remove the reservation.com fee and so I ended up paying more for the hotel. I DO NOT recommend reservations.com AT ALL. They are deceptive and charge more than the actual hotel charges. The hotel was beautiful. Too bad reservations.com ruined it for me.

During the wildfires in Oregon, my daughter was in an evacuation zone. I booked her a room for three nights on what I thought was the Howard Johnson's website further north where she would be safe until the fires were under control. I was told we could cancel before 6pm without penalty but when I went to cancel they told me I was not within their cancellation policy. I was out over $350.00. I was across the continent, during a pandemic and trying to help my daughter. Be very careful when booking online. Some how during the reservation process, I was transferred to a "Third Party" site and that is where the problem came in. DO NOT USE RESERVATIONS.COM FOR ANY TRAVEL. I got passed around on phone calls with multiple people for over 4 hours in a two day period and no one would help me. BUYER BEWARE!
