These people are con artists. Don't use them. They are happy take your reservation, but just try to cancel it and they come up with a "service fee" of $19.99 which I will dispute on my credit card. I'm afraid they may even use my credit card for spurious charges.
Ending up with a good hotel before was really purely luck especially if you don't know the place yet. Good thing about Reservations.com is that they give you choices so you can make a better and more informed choice when it comes to the hotel you're going to stay in.
Googled the hotel and this came up. I thought it was the hotel's service. Went to cancel and had to do it on the phone. Cancellation portal does not work. $20 non-refundable cancellation fee, which you only find out about after you book! 10-15 business days for refund. Stay away.
Read very carefully when you do a reservation with this company. Or better yet never do one.
This company has hidden charges that make your hotel price appear less that what it is.
It also charge a ridiculous service feed. Also I'm Canadian, they charge me in US dollars and was too late to change.
The hotel end up costing almost double of what will normally cost.
Do yourself a favor and do not reserve any hotel with this company.
Not only did they charge me an outrageous amount in fees... they charged me the $19.99 service fee twice. Nowhere does it tell you about any of these fees until you have booked! Ridiculous! I wish I could give them less stars!
Searching and booking a hotel room in Canada. Website is very deceiving in that it does not tell you rates are in US dollars. With exchange rate it ended up costing more! They were accommodating in refunding my purchase. But, exchange rates were different only hours later so I lost $20 CDN there. I also was not refunded the reservation fee of $20. Deceiving website!
I have stayed at his hotel approximately 5 times before. If they give you a 'Garden Suite' expect a hostel type experience at the full rate. My other stays were 5/5. I made it clear when leaving in the morning that I did not get the value expected and I was assured that when I return I would be compensated somehow. I have no intentions of staying again as I have no interest in the uncertainty of a what type of experience to expect. Dirty, rusty, noisy, old damaged furniture, smelly, just plain gross.
I had some questions during the booking process and I was relieved when they had a customer service available. It's 24/7 so it doesn't matter what time you book. If you've got a question or a concern about your booking they'll get to it pretty quick.
First of all this was not the hotel website. Second, the price they showed was $102.00 per night. The prices they charged for 4 nights were; $112, $109, $275,275! A far cry from $102.00! I didn't see these nightly rates until the transaction was completed. Giving my card number was not to "hold" the room. They immediately charged my card. Now they want to charge me $20.00 to cancel due to their false advertising! Put me on hold 30 minutes waiting for a supervisor. I ended up just hanging up.
I know there are just so many scams online nowadays, but Reservations.com is absolutely legit. You don't need to worry about going to your hotel of choice and ending up not having a booking at all. This actually happened to my friend once using what ended up to be a bogus site! With Reservations.com you have 24/7 customer service so whenever you need help, they'll be able to get back to you wherever you are.
Reservations.com is just the place to go to pay higher fees and basically have a refund policy that guarantees that you won't get one thin dime back. Do yourself a favor and book directly with the hotel or visit a reservation site that doesn't have a star rating hovering around ground zero. Before booking through them, note their rating with other rating sites. They have definitely earned their dismal score.
I made hotel reservations and I was charged $373.87 in taxes and fees. Room charge was $789.96. Terrible and then it is non refundable. I would never do business with them again. Tried to call and explain that I made an error and they hung up on me. I am not a unreasonable person. This just does not make sense. Buyer Beware.
Boy, I wish I'd read these reviews prior to using reservations.com. After selecting my room and entering my address and credit card information, I expected to click Continue and see a screen that said "Your total charges are $xxx. Xx. Please click Confirm."
Surprise! What I saw was "Your card has been charged "$zzz. Zz." The rate I was charged was nearly double the room rate! I understand that there will be taxes and fees added on to the room rate, but I did not expect to pay almost twice as much.
Live and Learn. Reservations.com... Never again!
I cancelled a reservation 36 hours before arrival. They said their policy was one day before arrival, but that day starts at midnight. SO for checking in 6pm Wednesday you must cancel Monday before midnight. The room was $69/night. The "one day" cancellation fee was $104. They sent no email confirmation to me with any details. The policy is not explained On their site or the hotel's site. NEVER AGAIN!
I called reservations.com to report a major issue first time I called the male representative thing up on me! Major problem for me secondly I was told nothing could be done husband was injured at the hotel but apparently that was no big deal after all this i can definitely say i have let all our friends and family know this is a company that we will never use again
I cancelled ONE night of my 3 day stay BEFORE the deadline outlined in my reservation confirmation from reservations com, but they still insisted I be penalized for 1 night stay. So I cancelled entire reservation and they still penalized me $160. What a bunch of scammers. This is NOT a US based company. They are based out of Philippines. I called my bank and bank said I had to deal with them directly because transaction was already completed. I ended up calling hotel direct and not only was able to reserve my room without a hitch but got a better rate. I would not recommend using this online service. They will steal your money.
You ripped me off. Why don't you post the refundable/non-refundable payment conditions right up front like other booking services? You hide them in a drop down box along with your undisclosed $14.99 fee.
I am going to dispute my credit card charges for a room I cancelled on THE SAME DAY with my credit card company.
I received an email ad that looked like it was from a hotel I'd stayed in before but was actually from reservations.com. The room rate advertised was $20 less than the hotel's website, so I went ahead and reserved a room. It was only afterwards that they let you know there's a $19.95 non-refundable "service fee" (so clearly their advertising the room rate as $20 cheaper was clickbait). Also, I don't know how they're calculating "fees & taxes" but they're substantially more than what's charged on Expedia or other sites. Basically, using reservations.com cost me apx $40 more than if I'd used Expedia or even the hotel's. As a warning, if you receive an email that looks like it's from a hotel but is really from reservations.com: DELETE IT.
I had made a mistake and booked the wrong weekend for hockey. I contacted Reservations.com explained my problem. I spoke to 2 people and they were able to help me out. Not only did they help me i was informed within 24 hours. I know they said 5-7 business days but I just want to say thank you for getting this expedited so soon. I will be using your service in the near future.
Thank you Kathy
7 charges made against 2 credit cards as they said the first one was declined only to find out the she was trying to book a room that was already reserved. Now having to deal with these multiple charges. Plus, we were not told about the additional charges of 19.99. Will not use this site again!
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
