The company generally enjoys a positive reputation for its user-friendly reservation process and competitive pricing, with many customers appreciating the ease of booking and the informative website. However, several concerns were raised regarding transparency, particularly about fees and cancellation policies, which left some customers feeling misled. Customer service experiences varied, with some interactions being highly praised for friendliness and helpfulness, while others indicated confusion due to communication barriers and insufficient support. Overall, while the company demonstrates strengths in convenience and pricing, it would benefit from enhancing clarity in its policies to improve customer trust and satisfaction.

There was no reservation when I got to the hotel... nor any rooms available. They took my money knowing there was no rooms. Now deny me of my refund. But they didn't come through on their end.
After fleeing a hurricane recently, I made reservations through this organization. When we arrived at the hotel, they had no record of the reservations and no rooms available. I attempted to contact Reservation Counter and after 30 minutes on hold and no answer, I gave up. I was later able to contact a representative and the only response was that the needed to contact the hotel and were unable to do so. I now find that I have been charged by Reservation counter for nothing. This is a major rip off and not at all responsible or responsive to the users.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Linda B. I will share this feedback with our team so we can look into this. If you’d like more help with your reservation, please contact our escalations team at support@reservationcounter.com
My brother is admitted to hospice and I needed to change my date to a week later and they would not let me. Do not use this service!
Sorry for the confusion. We are required to follow the terms and conditions as well as the cancellation policies that the hotels’ establish in the booking system. These policies are highlighted before customers complete their booking online or shared by our agents with customers booking on the phone. These policies may differ from those on reservations booked directly at the property. If you’d like more help with your reservation, please contact our escalations team at support@reservationcounter.com
I booked a room for 2 days and asked if i could have an early check in. The clerk put me on hold for 20 minutes and came back on and told me "good news. The manager has approved you for an early check in. And thete will be no additional cost. When i got to hotel, they had not been contacted. They also charged me 50.00 for the early check in. If i was told originally that there was a charge, it would have been ok. I don't like being lied to. Do no use this service.

I thought I was calling the Double Tree hotel directly, they had their phone number next to the Double Tree logo when I done google search, which I thought I was calling the hotel directly, Plus they charged me Extra Fees and taxes, but they refused to give me the details at time of reservation, and the agent lied to me and said I should get them from the front desk at the hotel, and when I asked front desk they said call the agent. In my opinion this is a falls representation. The Hotel gave the me taxes & Fees Only 14%, not sure why you charge over 30%?
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience. The prices quoted are directly from our hotel suppliers and can change as demand for rooms increases. Taxes and fees are dictated by the hotel suppliers and are not itemized when we receive them. Your total price includes taxes and fees required to complete your reservation. I called to get a reservation for a handicapped accessible room with a roll in shower. That is what they claimed to have booked me. The room did not have a roll in shower. They refused to modify my reservation claiming that they couldn't. I have to wait 48 hours for them to review the tapes to see if I will even be compensated! So if I leave this hotel to find an appropriate one, I will be screwed because they offer no cancellations. I am contacting my lawyer in the morning.

I tried to call BEST Western and somehow got redirected to this site without realizing it happened. I just cancelled my reservation with them and now are being charged 7.99 fee for cancelling. When I made the reservation I was told I would have FREE cancel policy if I paid upfront? Please Please Please be aware of these scam artists and how they direct you to their site. I should of realized it wasn't a BW site because their employees were very rude and untruthful. This site should be shut down and investigated by AG for their misleading practices.

I was trying to call a Fairfield Inn directly and got them by accident as they are very misleading on their site. At no time did they identify themselves as other than the hotel. They quoted the common rate for the room $129 but then at the end said they were charging $181 and when I questioned them said that the rest was tax! The tax rate might be high - 17% but not that high. Until I saw the receipt I never realized it was not through Marriott and by then it was nonrefundable. Later when I checked on the Marriot website the same room would have cost my $40 less. Although the charge was the same the "TAX" this company quoted was clearly padding their bottom line. Correction- Later on checking out from the hotel it turned out $30 of that fee was for a hold and was not charged to the credit card so the price ended up reasonable. Still not happy though as I had thought I was calling the inn directly. Also when questioned on fee the person at reservation counter was not a native English speaker and just kept saying taxes and fees and never told me part was for a hold. Reservation, counter receipt only said taxes and a fee that was about $8.00 that was likely their fee. Receipt never said hold. I will be checking my credit card later.

August 27,2020 our power went out due to the overload from Hurricane Laura in Louisianna. We called this number thinking it was the '800' number to the hotel. I explained our situation and told them we only wanted a room for 1 night, clean with electricity. We arrived, checked in went to the room. NO ELECTRICITY, BED UNMADE, SMELLED LIKE SMOKE. We thought someone was still in the bed since we couldn't see. We immediately went back to the front desk and Tasha, the hotel clerk said she would gladly refund our money just to contact the 3rd party that we booked the reservation with. I've tried calling at least 5 times a day for 2 weeks now. I get put on hold for 30 minutes or more (1 time for over an hour with no answer). I WANT MY MONEY!

I just lost 400$. My children and I had to sleep in our rental for a night, because they booked our hotel out of the country. These people talk fast as hell b! Just like scammers! They wouldn't even try to accommodate us what so ever! Even tried to make me give them my card number a second time to verify SOMETHING IDFK. Just don't do it.

Do yourself a favor, if you're booking a reservation for your hotel online DO NOT USE this so-called service. They are, in fact, in the business of taking your money in whatever way possible. I could detail my tale of woe, but there are more than enough here already.

Tried to make a reservation for my son before hurricane Laura. Operator told me if I pay for the room all he needs is his I.D. Charged me for room at Holiday INN express. Then room wasn't available. Note: 3-5 days to get funds reimbursement. Found new hotel at 4 points. Charged again... finalized at 10 pm. Son drove to hotel at midnight in tropical storm winds. Gets there, no reservation! Called customer service to straighten it out. No one speaks English well. No supervisor on staff. Resolution staff somewhere else. Needless to say. They said they won't return your money EVEN IF you never get the room. (Mind blown). Called me back till 4 am, 6 times just to tell me they will call back later?!?!?! Finally got room straight at 430 a.m. BTW had to to be up for work at 5 after a18 hour work day, the day of placing the reservation originally. Then the Hotel shook my son down for a 100 dollar cash deposit before he could get the key. Worst experience literally EVER! Just to get a room!

Thought I was calling the hotel reservation number, never was told it reservation counter, lied to me about not having a room with 2 queen beds, was told they didn't offer senior discounts, after 3 times of trying to book a room and kept telling that room got taken before they could finalize, said I could do a king size bed with a sleeper sofa. Finally booked the room, said because my credit card was getting declined, turned out they weren't declined, they kept canceling it seems to make me pay more money, I called the hotel direct and was told they do offer senior discounts and I even got a room with 2 queen beds. Now the conference I was going to got canceled and I can't get a refund or anything, lied to and misrepresented from the get go. Will never use them again or recommend them. Can't even get them on the phone anymore, stay on hold forever. CROOKS AND THEIVES!

The phone agent when questioned about additional costs said all were taxes. That was not true and I had about 10% of my charge that was in addition to their service fee and taxes. They would not tell me what those add-one were. They are not BBB accredited after 11 years in business and barely get one star on this site.

I was very unhappy to see a 12.99 service fee attached to my reservation. I'm not sure why this company exists when so many others will do the same for no extra fee.

They gave the appearance of being the hotel. They hid their 12.99 service fee. I ended up with a non refundable, no cancelation reservation. The good part is that it is only 2 nights. Bad thing is they lied about it having a pool. They talk faster than scammers. The FCC already took them to court about fraud for acting like they are the property. Guess what, they are still doing it.! STAY AWAY! Will not return emails or calls.

This is a third party reservation that acts like they are part of the hotell. I called to cancel and asked about the policy. They told me no amount of a refund would be given so I said I did not want to cancel. They told me that it was already cancelled and could not be reinstated. It was literally 5 seconds. "I am sorry, but once it is cancelled it cannot be reinstated". WHAT? I JUST did it! He would not give me his name or let me talk to a supervisor. I called a second time and talked to a woman with the exact same result. HORRIBLE BUSINESS!

I booked 1 night & was charged 150 + their 12.99 fee. When I got to the hotel, was charged 95.00 for the room fee because they said Reservation Counter hadn't paid them. Reservation counter charged more than the hotel. B Hotel told me initially I needed to call Reservation Counter to resolve. I called RC to resolve & they said they would"investigate." 3 weeks later, I called the hotel to see if they could help—apparently the girl at the desk didn't know to charge a "virtual" credit card code that they said RC sends to them. As far as I know, RC is still doing their "investigation..." I doubt I'll hear from them again. The hotel told me they can charge the correct card and refund the money they charged me. Even if I get the refund back, I feel like this company is deceptive and I will never do business with them again!

This is a third party reservation company that acts like they are part of the hotel you are trying to book. They charge you up front for their fees and your stay. If there is a problem, they are no where to be found. Booked a room at a large chain and when I got there the rooms were filthy. Tried to get refund and all I got was a runaround. Hotel and these people said the other was responsible for refunds. They hung up on me 2x's when I wouldn't accept their not our problem answer. Finally had to contest charge with credit card company.
Sorry for the confusion, but we appreciate you sharing your experience. Like many online travel agencies, we charge your credit card at the time of the reservation to ensure you receive the best rates possible. Although we are not responsible for the hotels quality, if they agree to provide compensation, we'd be more than happy to assist. This company is a rip off. This company needs to be investigated and shut down. My wife got sick so we needed to cancel and this company would not refund our cash

Answer: Trying to cancel a reservation, the rote voice said it did not recognize the phone number, even though it was the same phone I used to make the reservation. Then asked if the reservation confirmation number started with an R. I said No. It asked me several more times. I kept answering No. Then it told me to call the hotel for help and hung up. Called the hotel. They said they could not cancel since the reservation was made through a third-party company. That I would have to cancel through ReservationCounter. (Oh, by the way, I had tried to use the online Cancellation page - it doesn't work.) It was very difficult to get through to anybody and there were very long waits in between. I will never use this company again.
