The company generally enjoys a positive reputation for its user-friendly reservation process and competitive pricing, with many customers appreciating the ease of booking and the informative website. However, several concerns were raised regarding transparency, particularly about fees and cancellation policies, which left some customers feeling misled. Customer service experiences varied, with some interactions being highly praised for friendliness and helpfulness, while others indicated confusion due to communication barriers and insufficient support. Overall, while the company demonstrates strengths in convenience and pricing, it would benefit from enhancing clarity in its policies to improve customer trust and satisfaction.

I would give this business zero stars if possible. Agents are pushy and rude. Charge $12.99 service fee for each booking (needed two rooms for my family and was charged their service fee twice). On hold forever on their 1-800 number.
I was on the app Kyatt and saw the room at the Hyatt Centric Midtown Atlanta GA for $95 a night. I called a number which I thought was the hotel's number. The representative promised she could beat that price. She came back with an unbelievable price of $285 taxes including for 3 nights. I said book it asap. The text message came through. I clicked on it. $285 for the room, $95 for booking fees and another $12.95 that said reservation fees. I called numerous times and could not cancel. Only to be told that they would listen to the recording and get back with me through email 24-48 hours. I am so pissed of. I'm very polite and very friendly but this company is a piece of $#*!! It needs to be closed the $#*! down!
I’m sorry for the confusion. Reservation Counter is recognized by the biggest brands in travel and successfully books more than 10,000 room nights every day. However, when mistakes happen as a result of technology, human or consumer error, we will work with our hotel partners in an attempt to fix them fast and fairly. If you’d like more help with your reservation, you may contact our escalations team at support@reservationcounter.com
I booked the hotel thinking i was reserving a room and in actuality they charged my card and i did not authorize the payment called numerous times and they stated that I would not get a refund even called the cooperate office and that was even worst this is the worst experience that i have had with making reservations PLEASE DO NOT book with these people. WARNING THIS IS A SCAM!

I thought I was contacting the hotel chain directly. They quoted a room rate of $102 / night and after taxes it would be $245, which is what they charged my credit card. They did not mention that they had added a $12.99 Service fee. The hotel receipt shows a room rate of $92 / night. The hotel shows they were paid $183 for the room, which means the booking service was paid $36 + $13 in fees to reserve the room. They are a rip off, stay away.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Reservation Counter works with a wide variety of hotels to help people access the most online hotel choices. The rates that are listed on our site are provided to us by the hotel directly. We do not have the ability to modify or adjust these rates since they are controlled by the hotel. It looks like the hotel has shown the customer a different rate than the one that was supplied to us. This is very concerning. If the hotel would be willing to honor the lower rate, then we would have no problem refunding the difference to the customer. Unfortunately, we are unable to process the refund without the hotel's permission since the hotel has charged us for the rate we provided to you. We kindly ask that the customer send us the hotel receipt showing the lesser rate. We would be happy to contact the hotel regarding the customer refund request once this information is received.
I went through this company to reserve a room, found out later there was a $15 serving charge to book with them. I was not informed of this beforehand. I called & spoke with an agent about a charge that I did not authorize they claim to disclose this info at the time of booking, they did not! Stay away this it's a SCAM!

This website is a scam. Got a great price for a NYC hotel room, but after their computer "froze" and I waited 20 minutes on hold, the price jumped to double the amount of the original rate offered. Don't waste your time here.
Thank you for your review. To provide our customers accurate pricing we request that hotels send us the most up-to-date pricing for their rooms at regular intervals. We also make an additional request at the time of check-out. Occasionally, due to the dynamic nature of hotel room rates, the price may be different at the time of check-out. Although uncommon, it would appear as though we increased the price or gave a last-minute discount. We wish the price had not gone up in your case, but we can assure you that you received the very best rate we had available at the time you booked. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. If you

Reservation Counter stated a price of $80.55 was what we would be charged, matching what is available online. The credit card charge came in at $94.18---so I told the agent to cancel. He stated the charge was already made to my card, and there was a no refund policy. The request by me to not go through with this transaction was made within 5 seconds.
I called the hotel direct and cancelled the reservation. I then successfully disputed the charge with my credit card company.
They trick you into thinking they are the hotel reservation desk, in reality they don't speak English well and who knows what they are saying to you?

This firm pretends to be your hotel reservation service and then takes a cut. I went to the hotel and they said I booked through 'Priceline'?! STAY AWAY!

My husband booked rooms through this company and at the end saw that the reservation said it was nonrefundable so he called them directly to upgrade to the flexible option for more money. While still in the reservation and on the phone THEIR employee said he would walk my husband through changing (yes CHANGING) the reservation so that it can be modified if needed so we could come in a day earlier or later. THEIR employee said we could do so for an upcharge fee. He never said we would be charged twice. We NEVER wanted to cancel the reservation! Their employee (yes recorded conversation exists that proves this) instructed my husband what to do online which basically instead of changing per our request for help cancelled the reservation then rebooked it immediately within a minute. We have the exact same dates reserved but this company has now charged us twice stating that we cancelled online so there would be no refund. This company is unethical and will not refund our money after multiple conversations with their horrible customer service department. Warning to others not to use this company and book directly with the hotel. We will be filing a dispute with our credit card company and I will make sure I do everything I can to help others from falling victim to this scam.

My mother in law booked a hotel with these people. She called a week before check in to confirm her reservation. Eventually, they found her reservation but it was under someone else's name. When she tried to dispute it they gave her the runaround, told her they would call back & never returned her calls. This sounds very spammy, from my experience in order for the credit card to go through the names should match. Run!

These folks build websites to replicate known hotel brands and then when you click on the reservation phone number thinking you are calling that hotel you get switched to their call center. They are very good at ad-libbing and sounding like they are the hotel you called. We made a reservation, confirmed the address and ended up at a vacant lot between 2 other old hotels. Immediately contacted our cc company and turned off the credit card.

Bait and switch tactics. The website says (still does) free breakfast at Hyatt. I booked. Then called Hyatt. NO FREE BREAKFAST according to Hyatt. I sent screen shots and my confirmation page that shows free breakfast to ReservationCounter and NOTHING! NO response. I mistakingly was on there website I wanted to be on Hyatt's website in the first place. I WAS NOT TRYING TO USE THEM. THEIR WEBPAGE IS DECEPTIVE. I THOUGHT I WAS ON THE HYATT REGENCY WEB PAGE My error and boy did I pay. Here's my note to them: Your website shows a free breakfast. The room has changed so I cannot show you EXACTLY. You can see from this screen shot that breakfast is included. The first screen shot shows the room. The second screen shot shows what is displayed after you "click" on READ MORE. READ MORE is located under the words "BASE RATE" & "MEDIUM RATE". I never thought that I would have to screen shot a web page to show proof of my purchase. Please provide free breakfast as your web site states.

Stay Away from these guys!
Do not reserve anything with Reservationcounter.com! They literally just:
1. Wasted 2 hours of my life;
2. Pulled a classic bait and switch; and
3. Then completely lied about the amount they were charging to my credit card. Here goes:
1. I called with a request that was, perhaps, a bit atypical, but nothing that complicated: I wanted to book 5 rooms for 2 nights at the Westin Prince Hotel in Ontario (for a family wedding in September). The woman on the other end of the phone, kept on "checking" and "rechecking" for over an hour (and no, I'm not sure why I didn't just hang up on this clearly incompetent person).
2. Finally, she told me that we could get 2 rooms at a standard rate and the other 3 at a discounted rate. Sounded good, so we told her to go ahead. After booking the 2 rooms at the regular rate, she says something like, "oops, I see the system is not letting me book the 3 discounted rooms; I guess someone else took them. So I'll have to book everything at the full rate." So we told her, "that's disappointing. Obviously then, we won't be booking anything; please cancel the first 2 rooms." To our shock, she actually then said: "you can't cancel; they are noncancelable."
SO, TO RECAP: they offered us 5 rooms, 2 at full price, and 3 at discount -- then booked the 2 full-priced rooms but changed their minds about the discount -- yet they would not less us cancel the full-priced rooms! Assuming that the woman we were talking to might be deranged we asked to speak to a supervisor who told us she understood why we were upset but that there was nothing she could do. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
3. I then called my credit card company to try to stop the charge. They asked me how much it was? I told them -- approx. $770. I then heard a gasp on the other end of the phone: "Well, that's the amount of one of the charges, but there are a total of 4!" These crooks ended up charging my card for nearly $3,000! (The total price of the 2 booked rooms was about $770.)
I would probably write more, but I need to go take a few aspirin. Just do yourself a favor: stay away from these people

They are a scam... please read the other reviews about not receiving refunds for cancellations. They state they follow the hotels cancellation policy, which is not true. I made a reservation for two nights on Feb 14 around 3pm and called back to cancel reservation within an hour or so. Here is their policy (not the hotel's policy) they sent me. "Each room in this reservation is subject to the hotel's cancellation policy which is: Cancellations before 02/10/2019, 12 pm are full refundable. Bookings cancelled after 02/10/2019, 12 pm are subject to a fee of 1 night's room and tax. There is no refund for no-shows, early checkouts, or cancellations after 02/14/2019, 10 am. The $9.99 fee included in the total is non-refundable." Otherwise even though I canceled I never received a refund. Working with my bank and the BBB and Yelp and letting the world know they are scammers.
Thank you for your review. As an independent online booking company we purchase our inventory from multiple hotel partners and suppliers. This inventory has had all terms, conditions, pricing, and cancellation policies dictated by the hotel at the time they sold this inventory off to third party booking agencies such as ours. When a booking is finalized full payment is forwarded to the hotel to secure the reservation for the consumer. For a refund to be authorized on a non-refundable booking, we must contact our hotel partners who will reach out to the supplier and they will in turn verify if the hotel property, who collected the full payment, agrees to authorize a penalty waiver and refund back to the consumer. When the hotel property denies a request for a penalty waiver and chooses to stick to the policies that they have dictated for the reservation, we are contractually bound to comply with their decision regarding the terms and conditions. We apologize for the unfavorable resolution.
I thought I was booking a room at a Best Western hotel. They use the Best Western logo and everything looks normal UNTIL you try to print off the confirmation. You will immediately see it's a plain and generic document, and when you try to call you will get someone with a middle eastern accent and will be disconnected or hung on repeatedly. The reservation number does not match anything from the hotel, but once they get your credit card number they will charge you. Best Western.com was not able to help at all. In fact I was extremely disappointed how I was treated by both the hotel manager and corporate Best Western. I never stayed at the hotel, but was still charged and currently in the process of refuting the charges. This is truly a scam company and I think they are owned by PRICELINE.COM, because that's how it was listed on my statement.

This website does not confirm orders but will charge your account after the fact and upon cancellation refuse a refund...
DO NOT USE THIS SITE!
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Like other reservation sites, we charge as soon as the booking is made to guarantee that you will receive the best rates possible. Hotel room prices can increase as demand rises. This policy is stated in our terms and conditions page and below the “book now” button you used to make the reservation. I’m sorry for your trouble. I thought I was calling the DaysInn central reservation number. The reservation was a mess and took 3 e-mails to correct. Then when I check out I see the hotel would have charged me $330.78 for a 3-night stay but I'm billed by this scammer of a website $418.23. A difference of $88.00 for a pain in the butt experience. I have contact them to see if I can get a refund for this absurd up-charge... we shall see!

Answer: Trying to cancel a reservation, the rote voice said it did not recognize the phone number, even though it was the same phone I used to make the reservation. Then asked if the reservation confirmation number started with an R. I said No. It asked me several more times. I kept answering No. Then it told me to call the hotel for help and hung up. Called the hotel. They said they could not cancel since the reservation was made through a third-party company. That I would have to cancel through ReservationCounter. (Oh, by the way, I had tried to use the online Cancellation page - it doesn't work.) It was very difficult to get through to anybody and there were very long waits in between. I will never use this company again.
