Today I hired a car. Only to then be told ny the supplier that the car wasn't available at my chosen collection point, but 15 miles away. I had luggage and an injured leg. The car was just to go home for the weekend. Instead I chose to not take much luggage and use the train. I called Rentalcars.com five times. One agent was rude. The other didn't know what I was talking about. In the end I had to explain in detail five times before being put on hold, once was for about 25 minutes in all and another time was for about 15 minutes. They disconnected my call each time. They said they couldn't issue a refund. In the end I had £54.66 refunded while they took £81.44 for a cancellation fee. Their website says they fully refund must cancellations and they advertise cars which aren't available. So I had to go to the ombudsman

Do not go through rentalcars.com. They are rogues and take your money. I changed my pickup time by 1.5 hours 11 days prior to collection by phone and they did not pass this on to the rental company despite me paying for the car in advance. It was my car for the period, but because the car rental company was not advised of the changed collection time by the broker, rentalcars.com, they rented it out to someone else!
Go direct to the car rental company and avoid this company like the plague, they are crooks.

I was charged more for my car rental without any explanation (the amount deducted from my card was way more than what is on the official receipt). My booking number is: *******

For 2 months I have tried to seek a refund and each time I receive a reply from the company, they asked me to resubmit my bank statement so that they can open a case to investigate. I have resubmitted by bank statement four times, which means there's 4 cases on my issue, which began on 16 September 2022.

There's still no resolution in sight and I'm not sure whether there ever will be. It seems like rental car customer service agents are a bunch of untrained and unmotivated officers who just copy and paste template replies without reading the email thread.

I'm glad I canceled my booking with them eventually as I now will not run into the risk of them screwing up my vacation plans after extorting money from me.

We booked a car and got a delay with pur flight so the company through rentals canceled the reservation without any notice. We ask to book an upgraded car and pay more they lied saying no cars available. We call cuatomer service to ask for our money back because we didn t pick up any car. They refused and told us the only way is to book another car through the same order, we agreed but guess what: they told us they have no car available in the whole city of rhodes the same day, we ask for the day after and same answer no cars available and again with all the days we were there (4 days). Still didn t want to refund us!
We wrote a complain but a computer send us a response. There is strictly NO customer service! In my opinion we should write on as many social network as possible to tell people not to book with them! That s what i ll do
It s called stealing money! It should be penal

Typical bait and switch company. If you don't know now you know, no car rental company in America ask you for a declaration of insurance protection! But these guys will, trying to upsell you to b u y their insurance. My wife and I left and went to Dollar Rent A Car and even without booking first as we did in this case, we were taking care of expediently and efficiently and we're not asked for a declaration of insurance! We even went to Thrifty's Rent-A-Car and they did not ask for a declaration of insurance. But wound up renting from Dollar because Thrifty did not have any cars left. Do not trust these guys, and if you go here, it'll be at your own risk! Although, they will bring you in with low prices, they will bump you up at this dump by trying to sell you insurance at the same time regardless to if you have your own!

I ignored the reviews thinking they couldn't be that wrong! I've been charged for apparent damage to a car I hired but they won't or can't even tell me what I have supposedly damaged! The car was covered in scratches and dents on collection which noone came out with us on collection to point out too. Honestly do your self a favour and don't hire from these I even paid for full insurance and still didn't get my money back they are totally unhelpful and incompetent at doing their job

On two separate occasions booked a rental car thru Rentalcars.com, actual car supplier: Alamo and Enterprise. Each time easy and honest experience with no 'hidden fees' surprise like with some other travel agencies and rental car suppliers.

TERRIBLE COMPANY

A TERRIBLE COMPANY. They stall, do not solve the problem.
Paid for my car, 2 Days, full protection.
It was stated in the rules I needed to present at the pick up with 100 eu extra deposit in a card.
I present at the pick up location. The company asks for 200 Eu extra deposit in a card. My card only had an extra 120 eu not 200. (The policy stated in rentalcars.com stated 100 eu not 200 eu)
Mind you i had already paid my full rental + full protection insurance.
I WAS NOT GIVEN THE CAR.
I contacted RentalCars countless times, explained on the date, during and after the rental period. They just kept stalling, asking for a « new complaint, new request, new pin, new this new that »
They do not contact you back or They contact you back and do nothing. Just just keep STALLING. Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY

If you are delayed as i was getting to Minorca with easyjet the hire company give your car away if its over two hours late and when you try to phone nobody answers. Then they with glee tell you you have lost the car and Rentalcars dont give a dam and keep their 80% commission and Record go who are there agent keeps the other 20%

JOKE FROM A COMPANY! THEY CHARGE ME IMMEDIATELY AFTER BOOKING AND MY CREDIT CARD WAS NOT ACCEPTED AT THE TIME OF PICKUP.

We were set to rent a car at Mostar Airport with NUR Rentals through Rentalcars.com. The car, and NUR associate never showed up. We called and he clearly stated on the phone that he forgot about our rental, and that he (and the car) were still in Sarajevo. Ever since then it has been a nightmare to get our money back from Rentalcars.com. The reservation costs we paid have still not been refunded.

Scam. Totally not customer orientated business. Terms&Conditions of the services are placing customers in unfavourable position. Customer support is the worst I have experienced in my life, doesn't even try to help out and make no efforts to resolve the issue. All they care is money, so don't even hope for any kind of refund if something goes wrong. -10 out of 10. It will be probably easier for you to hitchhike than rent a car using this awful service provider.

"No Hidden Fees." It's a LIE--Rentalcars.com

Rented a car in Frankfurt through Rentalcars.com. Company asserts no hidden fees. Yet, it charged an additional $150 to take the car into France. This was never disclosed. In response to my email inquiry, Rentalcars.com admitted it has no idea of what its affiliated charge the customer. So whatever extra is charged is an undisclosed or hidden fee. Then, as a customer, try to complain--Rentalcars.com won't give out a mailing address due to "privacy purposes." Whose privacy is Rentalcars trying to protect? In sum, Rentalcars engages in false advertising and then makes it almost impossible to complain. Never use this company.

Insurance offered is SCAM

Rented a car in Las Vegas and opted to take the insurance. We had a small accident that cracked the right rear brake lights and parking lights. Filed all the required paperwork but have been harassed for months by the rental car place we rented from because they can't get in contact with the "insurance company" we took insurance with. Impossible to contact a person at rentalcar.com. We are being threatened for payment of the damage after paying for insurance! Still fighting this 4 months later! Never again.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! Our flight out of Charlotte, NC was cancelled due to Hurricane Ian shutting the airport down. When we called to say we needed to cancel or change our rental they said there were none of our vehicles available for the next day and they would not refund our deposit. Spoke to Pedro and he said that they would make an exception for Florida but not any other states. Asked to speak to a manager and was told that they were in a meeting and could not talk to us.

Worst ever car rental company

Never again. Was told by the staff over counter that they couldn't accept the license I've shown. And that they will indicate in system and full refund will be provided. Waited for days but no refunds and wrote in and was told that no refunds will be provided because I wrote in late. I had a full 10 days rental totally pocketed by them because of communication errors and they don't even make the effort to call me and just kept telling me of some clause when the counter staffs told me she will be indicating in system and full refund provided. Profit driven money crazy company that do not care about customers. When you read all the reviews online you will know. I'm not the only one.

Never, you hear, never rent a car from this intermediary company rentalcars.com! Pure scammers, even the direct service provider firm is more conscientious than them. rentalcars.com withheld his customers money for no reason when the contractor itself simply refused to provide a car for rent because their internal rules, in turn, rentalcars.com doesn't write this anywhere before booking a car and does all possible tricks to withdraw money from customers and come up with a reasons not to return the amount of what they call the "fine" = theft, and when I proved to them that they were wrong and they ran out of arguments, they just stop responding to email, the highest service ever!
Apparently, the platform has already grown so much that the service has become in last place and customers are no longer important, only money is illegally pulled from people who are in a hopeless situation. Shame and disgrace! Bypass this company, it is best to book directly with car rental companies, most of them are also far from ideal, but their reputation is still important for them, unlike rentalcars.com

I had 2 flights cancelled and when I went to pick up my car a week later in Oxford UK in September 2022, there was no car available as I was a "no show" and they refused to refund me my money, a very devious organization. Do not rent a car from these crooks.

I tried to use rentalcars.com for renting a car in Jeju, Korea, but no where does it say I needed a "International Drivers permit/license. It states I just need a drivers license. Upon arriving with my wife and 3 kids, we come to find this out and they told us we would be refunded. We kept checking out accounts and they couldn't print out a receipt or email us as their system was down. Worst experience traveling abroad, but the rest of the trip we had to hire a private chauffeur to get around to places. When trying to show proof of purchase for this review, the link won't open and none of the other links work either. What a scam of a company!
