First, it was not the care type it was promised. Second, the guy at the airport was rude. We asked him to mark the scratches of the car before we get in, he refused and said: "You don't want me to get the car back and leave you in the middle of the night here." Unbelievable.
Also, he was not at his desk when we arrived. We have to look for him in the entire airport. Later, he showed up and try to make us feel guilty that we were not there when he was there. How could we be there we have the plain hasn't landed yet when he was there.

I booked a car reservation accidentally, and realize it 10 mins after booking. Immediately cancelled my booking, and found a hefty cancellation charge. I call them, and they kept stating they can't do anything as their system handle the transactions. I requested to speak with manager/supervisor and they said it cannot be done as per the terms of the contract.
Never rent with this company! It is unreliable and not looking for long term sustainable business and not for customer satisfaction. Their insurance is not covering by far even if Rentalcars sells it as full insurance. Their customer service is extremely dissatisfactory only reacts in an automated way, indicating that they are right and can do nothing about the situation. Renting with Rentalcars has given me so much trouble, I couldn't receive the car, the insurance was not covering, a huge deposit of 2000 Euro is required. Most banks or credit card companies even don't have this deposit limit, so this is already a sign of non customer oriented company. Full of negative surprises. Apparently rental cars only cares about receiving money without providing the service. My advise is just rent with the large sustainable companies like hertz, sixth, Alamo etc, it looks more expensive but it isn't. I was attracted by Rentalcars price, but I ended up more expensive, scammed and had to pay additional fees to have a decent insurance and to receive the car. I missed the negative reviews before renting, reading them now I can't get how this company can still exist. Such companies are not in for a business mission to serve customers and society, but only to cash the money and not provide the agreed service. Very selfish and short term thinking. My advise and warning: be careful with this company and better to NEVER deal with company.

Our travel plans were disrupted which meant we were not able to collect our car until the following day. We explained that we were happy to pay the full amount for the shorter booking. They said we had to re-book and would then refund the previous booking. This was time consuming for us, and then they charged a heavy cancellation fee so we ended up paying a lot more for a much shorter booking. Also, we specifically booked a compact automatic car, and the only car they had with auto was an E-Class Merc for which we had to pay more. All in all, a poor experience and a very expensive one.
Once they have taken your money forget about getting any kind of a response from them.
5 x emails on a query. Always the same response. They want your booking reference and email and other details then say they will respond when they get it. If you respond giving them the detail they respond agian on the same mail and ask for the detail again, and again, and again and they never resolve the issue

I rented a car through them and was unable to get a car from the rental dealer they had booked through, as I had stupidly booked a manual and I needed an automatic. The rental dealer (Avis) offered me a full refund. They told me to reach out to the third party (rentalcars.com). They explained to me that rentalcars.com would reach out to them and they would confirm refund. I was promised by Avis 100% refund, otherwise I would have never left that building without a vehicle. I would have retaught myself how to drive a manual (drove in high school but hadn't driven in a while) before I would have let $1300 go down the drain. So I reach out to rentalcars.com and they refus to give me a refund. A refund that was promised to me by Avis. I have learned my lesson… I will NEVER NEVER EVER book through third party again.
I booked a car through Rentalcars because it had a filter that allowed me to find companies who accepted debit cards for the whole rental process. However, they allow companies to give false information as the company we selected (Goldcar) did require a credit card. To be clear, this is not the norm, as other companies in the same neighborhood did do the booking with only debit cards (i. E.: sixt, avis). Anyway, we expected some problems and therefore brought a credit card. Such card was not accepted by Goldcar system even though it was used without problems throughout the trip. With this problem at hand, we called Rentalcars, whose automated voice bot would never redirect the call to a human, and would turn off the call instead. Later, when they open, upon requesting a refund, I get an answer saying that they cannot refund because they were not informed I could not get the car at the time of pick-up. Which was impossible given their customer service was closed.
I expect problems with car rental companies, but aggregator websites should be on the customer side. You are better off using booking.com who correctly informed the credit/debit card requirements from different companies. Or even any other competitor.

However, I got into multiple day chain exchange of different people working for Rentalcar.com, who are always referencing the terms and conditions, without even trying to see that there was a mistake in their personnel procedures, which has led me to lose all my rights to reclaim. This is clearly a SCAM and this company robbed me. I strongly advice anyone to avoid this company, as they have horrible treatment of customers.
They promise you a full refund as long as you cancel your reservation 48 prior, but this is a lie. They do not. They say they cannot cancel the reservation. I tried to call them and they hung up on me after putting me on hold for 15 min. Chat service is not helpful either. They say they literally cannot change the reservation on their system and told me to call a 3rd party that I had no contact with when I booked the reservation. HORRIBLE COMPANY. STAY AWAY.
Please save yourself some money and don't use them! I fell into the trap in Ibiza when my plane was delayed and the rental car place was closed so I couldn't pick up the car that night. When I went to pick it up the next day rentalcars.com had canclled my booking and not given me a refund - still chasing for the money now. Awful customer service and horrible company do not use!
Arrived late into Gold Coast airport (7.00pm), as our flight was delayed. They were closed, with no contact details. When I finally spoke to their head office, they said they would refund my money as long as we booked a Hertz car for $800 through them. I was standing in front of the Hertz counter at the time, who showed us the booking was for $500.00. Now they say that it is our problem, and to take it up with the airlines, as they don't care. NEVER EVER USE THEM. They don't care at all.

On June 22,2022, I rented a car through rentalcar.com and the Car hire company or supplier was Mex with the Address of 1002 West Juniper Street, San Diego Ca *******. I was supposed to pick up the *******@10:00am and I was there right on time. The gentlemen working there told us he is not able to give us the car and he is going to cancel our reservation, and reimbursing our money, also will put a note for the rental car that the cancelation is from their side. It was very inconvenient for us due to not get any car that day on top of that rentalcar.com is not refunding our money. That's so unfair.
Don't, I repeat don't use rentalcars.com they will not allow you to change your booking or service you once you pick up the car telling you you have to work with the car rental company who will tell you that you have to work with rental cars.com Biggest run around ever. Booked a car in Spain they then sent an email stating they wanted a further €2000 on collection of vehicle I immediately phoned to cancel, within 20 minutes 2 days later they took the money from my debit card. Fraudulently as they are not supposed to hold my details 3 months later still no refund
After debiting my credit card they did not send any confirmation email, whereby i could have either confirm my booking and pick up the car, or cancelling the booking.
Without confirmation email i could not even track back the reservation when calling the customer service.
After three weeks, and conflicting information either over the phone (whihc costed a fortune) or by email, i finally got the confirmation email with the booking details. The scam was that i received the email after the pick up date, so that they denied me the refund on the basis of the fact that by policy they cannot refund after the pick up date... a true scam
The customer service here is terrible, I am trying to contact them about my claim and they hung up on me when I asked to speak English and emailed me back from 4 different colleagues with different messages. Also, the email title was "RE: potential scammer" implying I am trying to scam them when I am just trying to sort the situation.
I got covid the day we were travelling and wanted to just change the main driver but the car company told us to cancel and rebook (so we still used their car service for the allocated days and just followed the advice we were given!). Then we lost 311 euros for cancelling within 48 hours. In trying to reclaim this money, Rentalcars confirmed they would put a note in our booking for the claims department to see, but now they are denying there is any note there.
We have now spent over 800 euros with Rentalcars.
