I previously purchased a large sectional sofa with the intention of paying it off 6 months same as cash, which put me way ahead on my payments. I then determined that I was moving and would not be able to accommodate such a large sofa. When I returned the sofa Rent-A-Center told me I had an $850 credit due to having paid so far ahead, which I was assured I could use toward purchasing a smaller sofa to accommodate my new apartment. When I attempted to have the credit applied to a new sofa, I was told that I could only use a portion (about $300) toward the new purchase. In other words, I'm just out the $850 unless I make multiple purchases of their overpriced merchandise.

Everything they sell is overpriced to begin with. For comparison, below are links to the same sofa off the Ashley website vs the Rent-A-Center Website

Guess what picture I ordered online and which one I received. Human bodily waste stains on every cushion both sides. Compton store employee (Manager) told me I should have called to check. It's my fault I got a street corner sofa from RAC. Is not the purpose for online buying is to avoid the call or human interaction?! Wtf

Bed bugs!

I bought a couch from them, ended up having to go get the couch myself because they kept coming up with reasons why they couldn't deliver it just to get it home and find there are bed bugs in it! I called the store and the lady said she was gonna see what they could do and have yet to call me back or answer my calls!

Treated unfairly

I just paid my washer off they were very disrespectful wouldn't fix my lid had been loose since day 1 still is refused to let me keep benefits plus no loss tho I'll never do business with them again this store is in riverdale ga mgr vicki she is the worst

The wood holding the mattress doesn't hold very much without warping. Customer service people came 2 days after they said they would and they didn't fix a single thing. They didn't secure the pieces of wood they did change and the frame still came apart. So not worth the money!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
January 19, 2024

Rent-A-Center is one of the worst companies to rent from. I would never rent from this company again. The Orlando store on Orange blossom trail is the worst store I've ever seen. The store manager does not care about his customers and the staff are rude. I purchased a washer and dryer whirlpool and paid it off early and within 30 days the dryer doesn't work anymore. The store manager said to go to the warranty company but I think the store should take care of the problem since I just paid it off early and he switched out dryers right before I paid off my original dryer. So I do have somebody else's merchandise instead of my original that I purchased over a year ago. The store wouldn't even help me. Said they only have one truck and they have no dryers in the store. Yeah right. Don't ever rent for Rent-A-Center again. They're a rip off and they don't care about their customers. They just want your money.

My girlfriend rented a washer and dryer. It broke down and we called to get fixed. Repair man refused to fix even though it was covered under warranty. Contract states repair or replace. They refused, so we returned them. Today we receive a letter from an attorney requesting the return of items that we returned. We can't return twice, so they are trying to sue us for this. THEY ARE PATHETIC. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE JERKS!

The Rent-A-Center at 179 market Street in Paterson., Are short-handed on workers. But the young man and lady that worked at worked hard on satisfying me as a customer even through many unanticipated problems they still delivered the product to me as promised. I went from thinking I was not going to be satisfied on receiving my purchase to very satisfied due to these two workers persistent attitude of satisfying the customer. I feel like all them at least to mention them in this message.

They Put People In Jail

Do not ever support this disgusting compnay. They would put people in jail for not paying thier rent to own products. First of all they are overcharging. Sevcond they have insurance to cover the things that is not receoved. Third if they do get the stuff they sell it again so these people are the lowest of the low. Do not ever get anything from them.

Rented washer n dryer from rent a center over 6 weeks ago. Dryer was broken, replaced it a couple days later, but after a couple loads, washer didn't work right. Called, left messages, was told repair man was coming (2 weeks ago), been paying on items whole time and can't use them. Dryer is no good without washer. Completely fed up, but they have time to blow up my phone with ads...I stopped my auto pay, perhaps now I'll get their attention. If your looking for quality and/or good customer service, my advice is to save yourself some frustration and $ and look elsewhere. Have a blessed day!

Customer service is very poor! Proper idiots they are. I had purchase a lap top there and only had $200 reminding when I went to leave my weekly payment of $79, and the rep did not mention how if I did not pay those $200 before my next due date and additional $400 will be added to the $200. Needless to say I asked why they failed to tell me this and the response I got was "oh we told you when you first took the lap-top home" OH! And they signed me up for some medical plan which by the way I did not know I was paying! So I OVER paid them $400 for a lap-top that was only worth $600 :( sad and to think I never missed a payment! Oh well just a word of advice get your electronic devices elsewhere this place is a total rip off!

I bought 3 mattresses from rentacenter. I was late on a few payments but did make my payments. Employees would come by my house at all hours until 915pm asking for money or the merchandise back. Sue me for the merchandise legally, don't come to my house. If you have ANY other choice of companies to use, please do. Don't use rent a center. The quality of their merchandise is poor and you will be harassed even 2 days BEFORE my payment was due, I would receive calls and texts all day long. Even when I tried to make payment arrangements, employees would say no. Why bother?

Went in and the guy was not help full at all
All he could say is 1 to 6 weeks for delivery
I went to Aaron's and getting what I wanted tomorrow
I will drive to SanAntonio to get better customer service or just lose my credit I have

Still waiting

I guess it's ok that one of their employees threatened me after I asked for someone above the store manager. They hung up on me three times then threatened to file harassment. I finally did talk to district manager he claimed he could get the bed to me on Saturday if I call within the next 30 minutes. Not taking into consideration I have a job I was at doing a job properly. Now I am thinking I will get the property on Tuesday. That is what the sales associate told me previously before she hung up on me and said I wouldn't get the frame and mattress I had already paid for. She said she would refund it instead of compensating me for anything. They definitely don't keep up with their records very well. Still waiting since September...

The Rent a Center on Market St. Youngstown Ohio has the worst Customer Service Ever...they change your due date without your permission jus so they can accumulate late fee. 45.00 in late fees? Give me a break...Very Unprofessional

Bad

I got a washer that I had to go get and after setting it up it flooded my utility room which cracked tiles and buckled sheet rock by soaking the underside of my house. I had to do laundry by hand. I'll not be going back.

Centralia Wa is the worst ever. They need to be more customer service friendly and try and keep customers instead of treating them so rudely. Aberdeen Wa location is just as bad. They lost me, I went to Aaron's which I am glad I did, better selection an quality.

Bad customer services
December 2, 2022

I am not happy with a purchase that I made from a refrigerator rental center, which was damaged. The door seal is still after several months, I am waiting for them to fix it, but they do call me to make the payment for the refrigerator and the incredible Little professionalism of the employees and manager. This store is located in south 4 street Allentown PA.
