I have been an avid user of reddit for a year now and I don't really get why everyone uses digg more. Was digg first or something and that is the only reason why? The user interface is better on reddit and the content seems less controlled as well.
Great site overall. I would like to see some design changes so that it doesn't look so. Simple and non-artistic. On the surface it just looks like a bunch of links. Sort of like a search engine's results. For this reason I bypassed it the first time around and didn't go back for some time. I kept hearing of reddit on various other websites though and had to come back for a closer look. As it turns out, reddit is a very addicting, content driven site that I could browse for hours. And it will probably become part of my weekly routine in some form or fashion.
There is a boatload of content and it is safe for work. I don't think it's necessary to describe what the site does as anyone curious can learn more quickly by visiting. It clearly has good reviews already.
REASONS TO USE:
[1] Boatload of content
[2] Simple navigation system
[3] Has the "addiction" factor (you'll see what I mean if you visit)
REASONS TO LOSE:
[1] Minimal ads and slightly boring interface
Reddit is magical, as it is so addictive. You can literally find out what will appear in the newspapers over the coming days, as the get their sources here. The site does a good a moderating. You don't need to sign up to join, and you can lurk as long as you like. The site has something for everyone.
They clearly post bots' posts primarily. The idiots don't even try to disguise the bots, making their icons eerily similar to Reddit's icon. This is disgustingly insulting. They are basically assuming the public is stupid and won't catch on to the glaringly obvious.
Numerous times Reddit has released statements saying they aren't politically biased. They have once again proven themselves to be exactly what they say they aren't. Facts become opinions even with cited sources.
Reddit was once my favorite website... Now they are nothing but the enemy of the people,
I had an account for 9 days, made a few replys, and then on my 1st post I was attacked as a creepy conservative, yet that personal attack isn't against the rules, likely due to how the 10 yr user phrased it. As other reviews have stated this site is really just become crap. It is not worth the expenditure of energy to type a post or reply.
Don't waste your time use MeWe instead.
Blatant racism (the kind that reddit admins like including calling for violence and terrorism) is frequently allowed but any form of humor and thoughts going against their ultra left hugbox leads to complete removal of content. I hope it crashes and burns
Only left wing socialists, communists, Democrats, pornographers, and pedophiles are welcome on this publisher's site. All other views are attacked with vile language, threats of or actual doxxing, and calls to violence mostly perpetuated by the so called " moderators".
A website owned by foreign Chinese investors (Tencent). Reddit promotes censorship and is not a free-speech platform. Anything that will threaten their ad revenue or does not fit their narrative will be labelled as "hate speech", even where no legitimate cause has been observed. The majority of the published content on the top subreddits is produced artificially by user account farms and inflated with false upvotes.
There are much better community alternatives online, do not support this company with your business or presence.
Everything from right-wing groups to gender critical groups, anyone who questions the TRA woke crowd gets purged - not even women only spaces are spared from the intrusion of TRAs and men, those that try... you guessed it, you get purged under the false pretense of hate (where there was none). If you support reddit's decisions you might as well join your local fascist group, cause you're essentially no better than the fascists (left or right) who tries to silence everyone who doesn't think like them.
Anyone else is better off using a site like saidit.net
Reddit is a SJW hate site where overprivileged SJW liberals punch down on underprivileged groups such as autistic men. The same liberals who virtue signal about diversity are hateful towards marginalized groups and often use "autistic" as an insult on here. They also banned thousands of subs for no reason yet let violent and hateful liberal subs stay up even though it goes against their site policy.
Starting out as a great place for niche communities, Reddit has devolved into a liberally-charged echo chamber across most sub-reddits policed by overzealous and biased admins. The golden days of Reddit are no more and it pains me to leave it after all this time.
I tried to introduce the atheists there to the idea of a natural form of 'afterlife' and this is my story. Angry atheists immediately attacked: claiming it was impossible- without ever hearing me out. Then the 'subreddits' started censuring everything I wrote. Finally one person did agree to listen. He quickly asserted his intellectual superiority and began baiting me like an IRS scammer from India. That was the final straw. Reddit is yet another site opposed to all higher learning.
Save yourself the time if you happen to be Conservative, Libertarian, Centrist or just plain old reasonable... this site is not for you. Used the site for over a decade and it has become a shell of its former self. It used to be a great place where people with similar interests could get together and chat about various topics, but then something changed and the site went full authoritarian-Left and is currently mass banning any sub section (subreddit) that doesnt to the line.
They have ruined everything great about the site in order to become yet another propaganda wing of mass media. Reddit is no longer 'The Front Page Of The Internet,' it's now just a place to push specific ideals and values, there is no community or free speech anymore.
If you don't agree with the general consensus, you're a "racist homophobic bigot." If you value a traditional mindset, be prepared to be boo'd off the platform by way of downvotes -- or straight up banned. The mods power trip on what little admin powers they've been given because they get bullied in real life and NEED to take it out on you in any way they can. If you don't worship the gay mafia, you're gonna have a better time on Memedroid. They literally have entire communities celebrating every culture and identity -- except your own. If you're white, Christian, straight or all the above, you can't have your own identity on there. It's "racist" if you do it -- but them? Nah, that's fine.
Seriously, I can't stress this enough -- I CANNOT wait till reddit falls off the plateau and loses popularity.
Most of reddit is mundane conversations about videogames, pictures of cats and porn, but if you are there for any amount of time you will invariably stumble on it's dark side. Want to watch ISIS execution videos or make death threats against the president? No problem. Have concerns about immigration? Worried about pedophiles? Criticisms of communism? You will be silenced.
The CEO of the site runs the forum dedicated to cannibalism and can't hide his hatred for any politics to the right of Karl Marx. The moderators of all discussions, including those about non-political things like sports or cars are required to enforce his radical idealism so anyone falling outside of the approved narrative is quickly silenced.
I've used the site for years because it can be a very good source of information if you know how to use it, but it's toxic moderation has led me to use it less and less often.
There are subreddits that allow people to report your post into a different sub they can basically start drama and bash your thread. They know they will have no argument in the initial sub so they use this as their circle jerk. It's mastly filled with feminists and if you delete your original post they keep a copy of it here, which violates Reddit privacy policies.
So i love scrolling through some of reddit when i get bored (mainly fails) but i notice all of the crappy and messed up things on reddit, i say that its bad in some areas but in others, good for a laugh.
Being a senior this site was recommended to me to find out the many things that I have acquired that I do not know anything about. Trying to navigate this site was tiring. At every move I was given a warning that if I didn't go back and reword or follow instructions that I would be deleted. No patience at all with a new comer. This site was very disappointing! Will not use them again.
Living in my former place (Chestnut Ridge apartments)was an absolute nightmare. The maintenance was appallingly lacking, leaving numerous issues unaddressed. The constant noise made it nearly impossible to find peace and quiet. The overall quality of the place was horrendous, and the rent was sky-high despite all the problems. The bathroom was a breeding ground for mold, and the walls had such poor insulation that the outside weather seemed to creep inside. I couldn't wait to move out and find a better place to call home.
Also full of bacteria like chiggers. Living in a place filled with bacteria like chiggers was a health hazard and added to the already unbearable living conditions. The infestation only added to the list of problems that made the place completely unsuitable for a comfortable and safe living environment. It's crucial to prioritize cleanliness and hygiene in any living space to avoid such health risks. I do not recommend this place.
Answer: Absolutely cancer. Unless you're an NPC without a brain of your own.
Answer: Use sitejabber, much better. Since they don't make you jump through hoops to post a review and they don't censor negative reviews. TONS of bad sites online. TONS of corrupt sites. Clean up the internet. Break up these monopolistic companies.
Answer: Don't trust reviews from reddit because the site is censored to get rid of negative reviews. Censored by corrupt moderators and admins.
