Reddit Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from perceived censorship and biased moderation practices. Many users express frustration over account management issues, such as difficulties in deleting accounts and unjust bans, which contribute to a sense of being silenced. While some appreciate the platform's diverse content and sense of community, the overwhelming sentiment is one of disillusionment with the site's environment, described as toxic and unwelcoming. This dichotomy highlights a pressing need for improved moderation transparency and user support to enhance the overall user experience.

Very bad
June 14, 2022

Very big lag, unusable. Video player is a nightmare, 180p quality with 2 fps. Discourage everyone from using reddit, it's really garbage.

A forum moderator falsely accused me of being an "alt" account", and when I responded to explain that I was not, I was banned and muted. The accusation was clearly based entirely on this individual's personal assumption, and doesn't even make sense contextually.

I am now left with no recourse to contact anyone or overturn the ban, as I am 'muted'. Ultimately I am pretty angry about being falsely accused of something with no basis. I have never been treated like this on any other website or forum I have been involved in.

Steer clear of this forum.

To many bots
June 1, 2022

I like tech so I visit sometimes but you will get attacked by the actual companies if you say anything perceived as negative and I'm guessing it's either bots or people that don't speak english bc they latch on keywords but don't seem to comprehend beyond that.

The karma system is abused, if you did say anything unpopular, expect every comment you have to be downvoted. It makes it discouraging to participate bc you can spend an hour tailoring a comment and people love it, only to be downvoted to pieces a month later for daring to disagree with something completely unrelated. This is exactly why almost all of reddit is low quality, nobody wants to waste time and be degraded so why even participate beyond low thought stuff?

Why bother?
May 31, 2022

After being insulted by some yo yo, my account was suspended permanently by Reddit. This dude called me a drug addict after reading a post I placed in his Rob Zombie section. Idk if knows Rob's lyrics, but they are unique in that they incorporate classic horror movies, fast cars, science fiction, and other intense subjects into some of the most picturesque poetry metal music has ever seen even unto this day. I did my best attempt to recreate a mood in my fellow readers by informing them of my acquaintance with the ex drummer of Rob's band, White Zombie, and where fans cod come into contact with this amazing drummer that took part in the establishment of one of metal's premiere albums "La Sexorcisto". I guess my attempt wasn't recognized by this person, as he accused me of being a drug addict. I then told him he was unimaginative, and proceeded to check out his profile which was not locked to public viewing. I saw he was starting to play guitar ( no, he was not a little kid, adolescent, or anything else who's dreams would be squashed due to my harrassment. Instead, I gave him some advice. I wasnt in the mood to be "mommy" to him, but told him that if he asked anyone how to play ac/dc music, he would be ridiculed, so dont do it. Next thing you know i get a text from Reddit's mental health support group which, if they had done their due diligence they would have seen what was going on, asked me if everything was ok with my life and that they were there to help me. Huh? Pansies... Anyway, after I asked Mr. Twinkie if he had sent this, I was permanently deleted for i dont know what... I did make an appeal, five days ago,. And have heard nothing since. Overall, from my intended use of reddit, which I abandoned, the experience sucked. Its like the communists and nazi's had a kid and social media'd it until it thought it was a big boy, but its a bully and, unfortunately, you cant teach it the lesson all bullies really need. So, basically, its not worth my time, or anyone else's unless you want to whine and $#*! and moan and yadda yadda yadda... Good night!

Reddit is rampant with robots and trolls that are extreme left. It used to be neutral when it first came into existence but someone influenced this site financially or through their own views from the top.

Reddit has become a forum for the left-wing agenda. Reading the posts is alarming. These conspiracy-driven leftists have the depth of a child. I have never read more shallow, fact-absent posts as posted on this rag.

Very hard for beginners to get in. They have bots in the name of moderators. Most useless website I have encountered. All sorts of good content but without any means of even replying to people. The only thing I can do is vote in polls.

This website used to be something decent. Now it's filled with bullys and Moderators who censor anything that they don't like. Koaljoey is a Karen on reddit who was given control over other members when this person is nothing but a bully and the definition of what's wrong with Reddit. When they let people control other people must been the start of its sad downfall. None of the moderators are qualified to be moderators of anything. Other than they begged long enough to do so. That's their qualification.

Reddit for dogs
May 16, 2022

I commented on Yummy combs as being a good product that my dogs love and they did help reduce tartar on my little dog over a couple months of using every day. Reddit would not use my post. They said it was promoting a product. I believe the reason was that the only posts they would use would be a negative view. How unfair that free speech has been so limited by corrupt companies like this. I wouldn't believe anything they post because they will not post it if they don't agree. And after the post was taken down I was taken off the website. Good grief!

I got banned multiple times from Reddit for insane reasons and now they won't let me use the website anymore.

These people literally banned me for insulting animal abusers and pedophiles selling horrible content via DM. They told me that I'm threatening violence and banned me PERMANENTLY. And that is not even the worst thing, they also banned MY IP FROM USING THE WEBSITE. Now when I create a new account it automatically get perma banned next day, so they basically prohibited me from using the whole website just because I was insulting literal criminals. Reddit admins and moderators are scumbags who enjoy power tripping by abusing users they don't like.

REDDIT SUCKS. If you have Reddit please delete your account, don't be part of this bull$#*!.

Social media sites are a dime a dozen. Reddit is one of the elder statesmen in this group. It is a big, dynamic site with tons of users, but they aren't very tolerant of differing opinions. Reddit's tolerant liberals are quite intolerant and downright bigoted towards older people and those of us who hail from the Southern United States.
Reddit suffers from the same biases and groupthink as most social media sites. It uses a "comment karma" system where popular posts are up-voted and unpopular posts are down-voted.
If you like what everybody else likes, and think like everyone else thinks, you're good. If you think differently, you'll be down voted mercilessly. It is that same dynamic that made middle school so obnoxious for most people.
Reddit has some great content, but you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy among their user base.
If you use Reddit, pick your "communities" (areas of interest) and stay there. There are other users who are so obnoxious and petty, if you say something they object to, they will look up all of your posts, on any subject, and down vote them. DO NOT be slow to block the hard core a-holes.
Reddit is an interesting site, but its user base needs an enema.

Very bad
May 5, 2022

Video player lags a lot, cache doesn't cleanup after some time of browsing (causing major lag), text editor in commets is very buggy, replies to different comments, pasting doesn't work, pastes some random stuff and moves screen randomly anywhere. Will have to continue to use it for now, because there is no alternatives, but when there will be any will hop on a new one.

Reddit claims they want to improve things. Their idea of doing so? To restrict control of potential common interests to scumbag moderators like XenesisXenon with a "first come, first serve" system. You better hope that said moderators will not accuse you of harassment, hypocritically at that, while letting racists like Gippy run around claiming "diversity for its own sake" of a game that has no reason to mention skin color in the first place, or they WILL ban you from talking about a game series you have interest in. You're not getting around this by creating alternative "subreddits" either, because the Reddit admins will ban those with no warning OR explanation.

Equally problematic is when Reddit believes in power to the TYRANNY OF the people, particularly aggravated by a voting system where if you get hit by downvote bombing because people are defensive from your paragraphs that are warranted by THEM being nasty, you lose access to being able to post multiple messages in a given timeframe, preventing any terse or improvised posting or the ability to respond to every post in an acceptably timely manner. Reddit, quite simply, acts in bad faith in interest of supporting the mob.

Couple that with how the general content is BORING and you're not losing much of value there. Reddit has had many chances to shape up and it's just not going to do that whatsoever.

Fake Free Speech
April 16, 2022

It advertises itself as a free speech site but consistently pushes American government narratives and completely silencing free speech by banning users, subreddits and comments for no reason if they go against the American government propaganda. This is the case with all social media sites. Reports, news and articles outlining Israeli crimes, Ukrainian crimes and American crimes are met with bans, removals of posts and opinions.

It is important that people understand the need and importance of censorship and free speech. It is important to understand that when other countries do it, it is an important tool in managing their populations. But they are honest about it. They openly say we censor and they do it. No false pretenses.

If you are going to censor opinions that go counter to your narrative, declare it so instead of leaving users confused.

If you don't agree with the general consensus, you're a "racist homophobic bigot." If you value a traditional mindset, be prepared to be boo'd off the platform by way of downvotes -- or straight up banned. The mods power trip on what little admin powers they've been given because they get bullied in real life and NEED to take it out on you in any way they can. If you don't worship the gay mafia, you're gonna have a better time on Memedroid. They literally have entire communities celebrating every culture and identity -- except your own. If you're white, Christian, straight or all the above, you can't have your own identity on there. It's "racist" if you do it -- but them? Nah, that's fine.

Seriously, I can't stress this enough -- I CANNOT wait till reddit falls off the plateau and loses popularity.

Reddit is filled with SJWs who constantly defend radical feminism, LGBTQ+ hypocrisy on straight people and Christians, annoying strict moderators, AND people who think they're smart and write out huge groups of text about something they could just give a clear answer to. Quora is also similar to this. Also, the gore needs to be stopped! I'm tired of seeing dead bloated decomposing bodies on reddit.

I hadn't posted to the site in weeks, no subs had complained against me, and I get a site ban out of nowhere.

The site used to be great but has changed into a smorgasbord of nonsense.
