The censorship, hypocrisy and harassment from admins on a site that claims "free speech" becomes more and more prevalent every day. Pushing propaganda to influence politics, remove (((wrong))) opinions, etc.
People are starting to notice, and when the push comes the site will die faster than you could believe.
I used to love this site. Had an account for almost 6 years then all of a sudden this year Reddit admins became ban happy. They permanently suspended my account for trumped up reasons but honestly I think a specific admin had it out for me because they disagreed with some of my opinions. Don't support this website and the losers who run it.
Lawless bunch of thugs with Moderators who are the local gang leaders. Reddit goes out of their way to encourages and incite threats, harassment, and bullying. Further, they encourage others to do the same. Release of personal and confidential information is completely left to the discretion of moderators, who have a bias towards friends and cronies.
I posted in wownoob because I was having huge problems trying to do something in the World of Warcraft. I hoped to get a bit of a morale boost. However, when I did not understand some of the answers, people starting making hateful comments. What is worse, the moderators censored me and deleted the post rather than deleting what trolls and haters had said to me. Awfully upsetting and demoralising experience that made me cry a lot and led me to delete my Reddit account.
I am nearly 70 and do not find it easy to deal with all the complicated things in World of Warcraft. I need to click on things with my mouse rather than worry about pressing number keys as well, and I am not a computer programmer so I do not know how to make macros or what to do with them. People were mocking me for this on my post. For example, someone said "are you mentally challenged?" and got a vote of approval for this.
I Posted on the Canada subreddit about lack of funding for Autistic people in Canada. My Brother is severely Autistic and I told my families story. The replies I received to this thread were amongst the worst I have ever read on the internet. It was simply an unimaginable amount of verbal cruelty. I received several personal messages that they would voluntarily kill my brother and myself for wanting to ''suck off the pubic tit''. Included in the thread were phrases like ''animal'' ''waste of skin'' and ''genetic trash''. I contacted the Reddit Canada moderator and received a dismissive reply of ''This is the internet, what do you expect?''. And something about ''free speech'' blah blah blah.
There are seriously cruel and mentally unstable people using this site and moderators that seek to condone and even encourage such behavior. What a terrible site.
Reddit has become a forum for the left-wing agenda. Reading the posts is alarming. These conspiracy-driven leftists have the depth of a child. I have never read more shallow, fact-absent posts as posted on this rag.
This is another site that is confusing to me. When browsing the site it reminds me kind of like a not a blog but a community communication site. I cannot remember what they are called. But anyway I was actually blocked form one group for what reason I am not sure and I could not find out why.
I thought this site was a place for people to talk but when I wrote a question asking for simple advice they deleted it. I've read on other sites not to bother with Reddit and I thought they were exaggerating but turns out it's true. It's impossible to use this site for anything meaningful. But yet I've read very explicit sexual stuff on it but I can't ask for life advice? Stupid.
Candice and Hai,
I want to personally thank you both for your help and professionalism. I know this is not easy always dealing with businesses and the stress were all under. Thank you both for helping us, fighting through the issues and helping get this completed for us. My bank just let me know that it is pending in the account. Thank you truly and I appreciate everything you all have done.
My first contribiution, that met all the Reddit rules--an offering in 'Books' about the challenge for writers to get published--was blocked by the 'house bot' as spam. Contesting this, I offered my website as proof of being a person, not spam. The troll/moderator, going by a pseudonym (of course), then claimed that this was self promotion, whereas it was only my proof of not being spam. My website was not mentioned in the offering. No attempt to apply reason or logic penetrated this pernicious behavior by the troll'moderator.
For better insights, the March article in The New Yorker provides a clear picture, as verified by other reviews, of a cruel and intellectually violent medium that has a long and unpleasant history of crude trolling of the most unpleasant kind. In retrospect, I wish I had never attempted to engage with them.
I thought Reddit would be a warm and friendly social platform, sadly I was very much mistaken. I wrote a comment about a pop group and how I didn't approve of some of their songs. The reply I recieved was from someone who obviously shows no consideration for others and quite frankly their remarks were hostile and bad mannered as well as hurtful. I wrote back in the style of Jane Austen. Reddit is the worst social platform I have encountered, I decided to delete my account and glad I did.
Honestly this app is so bad it doesn't even deserve a one star rating. Compared to other things I've rated one star- it's 10x worse.
Pretty much impossible to use. You get punished just for being new. You're locked out of participating in 90% of communities until you get enough "karma." But the only way to get this is by posting or commenting. What do they do? LIMIT YOUR POSTS AND COMMENTS. Just for being new you're limited to being able to leave one comment every ten minutes. Which means if you see something and want to comment- usually you'll be locked out and you either have to sit around and wait for the timer to run out or not comment at all. This also forces you to earn "karma" extremely slowly to the point where it takes weeks to be able to use the app normally. Extremely frustrating for no reason at all. This genuinely deserves a negative rating.
The Internet is a cesspool of lies, at least we could address it in all it's entirety. Now walking on eggshells is the norm. If I wanted to have a debate I shouldn't want to win because of others feelings I'll go visit family. Just put us in the matrix already, we're already dead.
This is a fun website for people who want to waste some time on the Internet. And I mean that is the most complimentary way possible. Reddit gives me an outlet to vent, a place to learn and an filtered feedback loop.
Love a site so determined to be in the good books a prison "prag" would shake their head in disgust, literally being forced to service a stronger man in prison is a prouder prospect that admitting to work for Reddit. It's hilarious, poor Reddit employees, I'm amazed they can function under the deluge of butt hurt tears. Good on the wee snowflakes.
First if all let's get this straight I'm not on either side of the the left or right wing. You can honestly tell just by spending a few days on the page. My account got blocked for three days because the last account I used got blocked off a sub Reddit for a comment I made about liberals running Reddit! Where's the free speech?
Whoever started this site is either a single moron or a group of morons. What $#*! or $#*!s thought it was a good idea to require someone to have enough "karma" to post? This $#*!stick website needs to go out of business and lose most of its members. I understand the low rating.
Keep your children and anybody you know with a mental illness or history of depression well away from Reddit. Not only are most of the people who frequent the site scumbags, but the reddit moderators do nothing to keep people safe (while always using the fact that they are 'volunteers' as an excuse as to why they half-$#*! their responsibilities there). Keep away from Reddit at all costs. Unsafe, unkind and filled with the kind of people you just don't want to know IRL.
This is not the first time it happens. Here I am, casually browsing and posting on Reddit. Everything is fine... Until one day I wake up (always when you are sleeping) I get this message I broke the rules to many times and now I am banned because I have multiple accounts... I don't. I messages Reddit, because the message said I could, but nobody replied. I tried to delete my account but something went wrong and my account is still on Reddit.
Fun fact: I live in a dorm where we share the internet. I guess other people have a Reddit account too and Reddit sees multiple accounts from the same IP.
Fun fact 2: Did you know you can add multiple accounts to the official Reddit app? Why add that functionality if you get banned for having multiple accounts?
My posts just get deleted. I spent 10 minutes writing about an experience on Ebay just to have it deleted. And my account is several years old with karma and everything. Tired of wasting my time with Reddit.
Answer: Absolutely cancer. Unless you're an NPC without a brain of your own.
Answer: Use sitejabber, much better. Since they don't make you jump through hoops to post a review and they don't censor negative reviews. TONS of bad sites online. TONS of corrupt sites. Clean up the internet. Break up these monopolistic companies.
Answer: Don't trust reviews from reddit because the site is censored to get rid of negative reviews. Censored by corrupt moderators and admins.
Reddit has a rating of 1.4 stars from 528 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Reddit most frequently mention free speech, social media and front page. Reddit ranks 499th among Social Network sites.
