Realitor.con has my home listed as a mobile home/trailer house. It is NOT! Their listing has caused me a lot of unnecessary stress and problems securing a buyer. I asked them to fact check before listing inaccurate information. I'm still waiting for it to be fixed.
While they may not make money from buyers (they may, but I don't know for sure) they do solicit agents to spend money on leads. They do in fact recommend or rank agents based on the space they buy on the site, so their suggestions are not based on any kind of merit. I did however, find an exceptional agent online. That is key. Find a REALTOR in your area and ask around, check yelp, check how many listings they have, check zillow and google them. This site is not a broker. Do not give them money. You can browse properties, or even get some sense of your home's value, but they are in no way a substitute for a real estate professional.
We are going to sell our home without a realtor and paid a few hundred dollars to list it on ForSalebyOwner, Zillow, Trulia, and Realtor.com. What a racket! They hide your phone # so only all these realtors call you. They try to manipulate you into signing a listing agreement. They can all go jump in a lake. Parasites. On Realtor.com you can't even show your phone # at all and nobody will be able to tell your home is for sale by Owner. They tell you you had better not put your phone # or any website in the text or they won't post your listing. It says nothing anywhere that you will have to pay a commission to whatever realtor brings you a buyer until after you sign up and pay. I am not even putting my house on Realtor.com. Too bad I did not think of looking here before shelling out the $. Boo. Does not even deserve the one star.
All money I made from leads went back into paying for those leads. I got junk leads most of the time and they were not exclusive. The NAR is supposed to be there to help agents, not take advantage of them. We pay very high dues and they should be giving us leads free of charge, not taking all our hard earned money away from us. I will never pay for leads again and do not believe the NAR helps agents any longer but takes advantage of them. By the very fact that they charge for leads says volumes.
I; m paying $250 a month for basically nothing. I get 1-2 leads a MONTH and they are crap. I want to get out of my contract but they stick to the one year. Rip off. Liars. BAD customer service. I would not buy a lead from them if they were the only provider.
Realtor.com contacted me for leads in a zip code I preferred. They told me the leads were vetted. I have had this service for 8 months and not received one lead that could have been a transaction. I changed my zip code hoping that it would help. I called Customer Support and they were rude and suggested after I received a lead that wanted to rent that I should talk him into buying. Just utter nonsense. I am thoroughly disgusted.I was told that I could not talk with a Customer Support team member for 3 days when I wanted to cancel. I am going to put a hold on my next payment. What a waste of time and money. I gave them a 1 since they had a pulse but wished I could give them less than that
I have had an agent account with them for over 5 years so that I could receive messages from people wanting more info on my house listings.
Every year they go up in price on a service that should not cost. This year they auto renewed me for this service that I was paying $187mo for and upped it to $515 a month without checking with me.
I will not be advising clients to go there anymore! CANCEL! 0
As the other reviews state, this website and company is a total rip off! I would get billed constantly by them and in return got only leads for $30,000 mobile homes! I asked them for the $500/month I was charged, was that all that I am worthy of? Never got a straight answer, just more leads for $30k mobile home leads. I cancelled my credit card and did they ever chase me and threaten that I had a 1 year contract, they are frauds dont get roped into this, agents and brokers beware!
I wanted to see a house on realtor.com and so I entered my phone number to speak with the sellers agent. Why did I do that! I phone has been ringing for the past 5 days without stopping. Realtors calling all times of the and night.
I signed up with realtor.com in May. My charge was suppose to be 280.00 a month. They charged the first month correctly. After the first month they started charging my CC 350.00. I have been calling for several weeks and they just keep pushing me off. I now want to just cancel my leads and NO one will help me with that...
A joke of a company...
Why did realtor.com change their app? It was perfect before, so easy for me to use. Now it is a huge mess, and I have deleted it from my phone and my iPad. I will get it again if they go back to the old app.
I've been using this app for a couple of years. I loved it. Very easy to use. Lots of useful information. I especially liked the map feature because that's how I search, by location. This new app is terrible. The map is half of the page and an ever changing list of properties is the other half. I cannot search on a tiny map! I cannot read a constantly changing list of properties. I have deleted the app from my iPad because it useless now. I've tried accessing through my laptop but it's the same set up. Why did you change such a great, intuitive, useful app?
Realtor.com is a scam. They not only list properties and sell leads. If your agent list your property on their site they actually will post your taxes on property 50% higher or more than the actual documented tax bill. Falsely rating the cost to buy monthly to the Consumer. Fortunately I caught it. Not my agent. And I will be exposing this fraud. My tax bill is 3400. 00 per year. They post it to the site at 6000. 00.
They are not ethical. And it is an actual federal law. To mislead through advertising when there is available legal documentation proving actual costs, that contradicts your deceptive claims, that serves to control values of the market is NOT LEGAL.
Don't waste your money! Or your time! Not worth it. Lots of low end hunting people not qualified just looking. Completely a waste of over 30k. No leads but one a terrible test in a fantastic market. Wished I hadn't wasted my money. Literally their system also stinks archaic!
They told me you get many leads per month and they send the contact after they charge you car. In the contract is say over the course of the year. The guy said if you are not happy with the leads you can cancel anytime. Lies again, they don't let you cancel. So I will call the FTC and the district attorney tomorrow to file a formal fraud complaint.
I left my number with a note that said do not call. I've received 20 calls from them at all hours of the day. I have them blocked and they leave 5-minute voicemails. Do they really think anyone would use them after they harass you incessantly on the phone?
I had a horrible realtor, I had to be in constant contact with the seller and the bank because he wouldn't do anything. Then when we closed he recommended an unlicensed crook to unstable a new roof. Realtor.com will not post negative reviews, which is detrimental to their customers.
Our experience with Joseph Trela from Remax in Pemberton NJ was amazing! He was very accommodating as well as professional. He did a fantastic job with coordinating between us and the seller. I would highly recommend him.
I pay less than $100 a month for Zillow and I have closed one deal and have two active buyers. I pay Realtor.com $560 a month and have had little leads and no real buyers. I have spent countless hours with their customer service and they refuse to cancel my 6 month contract or refund the money. They make verbal promises they can't fulfill. There are so many great ways to spend your marketing money but this is not one.
I was looking at a certain property a couple years ago. It asked for my number and email if i wanted any info on the property. I wasn't looking to buy right that minute, i just wanted some general information, so i put my info in. I was thinking maybe they'd send an email with some extra info or call to connect me with someone that has that info but instead what i got was; an almost immediate(less than 5 minutes) after i put my number in i get a call from someone who is VERY excited that i wanna spend some money (I didn't). I said as much and ended the call and for MONTHS afterwards i would get like 5-10 calls not just from that number but from a BUNCH of different numbers(scammers love spoofing numbers) on a daily basis, so i blocked all of them. This is clearly a scam to get you to spend money, and the only reason i'm making this review is because TODAY, a solid 2 YEARS later, i got another call from some mf in India calling himself "James" about it. It Boggles the mind.
Answer: Don't do it! Total scam. They don't allow you to cancel, and don't deliver what they promise. I've wasted $1500 and they want to stick me for another $4500! I signed up for an area with $800k average, but ALL of the leads are for $50 mobile homes. COMPLETE SCAM!
Answer: You can file a claim with the BBB. I am in the process of looking for an attorney. Small claims court is always an option.
Answer: Just be sure you are dealing with a realtor. Do not send any money to anybody at a moneygram account. Just make sure it is a realtor you are working with. Because there are scams out there that ask you to send money pretend to be owner etc. you can always ask for license number and go to trec website and check to see if number is real. Hope that helps.
Answer: I hope that if enough of us post about Realtor.com scamming, defrauding our industry we can stop them, scammed myself, never again, worst customer service I have ever encountered.
