I entered my gift card number for a company they stated they accepted. They stated the transaction was complete. Later they said they weren't taking cards from this company. Now they have my gift card number including the pin. FRAUDS!
I bought a Starbucks gift card through the Raise app and attempted to transfer the balance to my personal Starbucks account. No dice: the Sbux gift card was registered to someone else. I called Raise and was told that the Raise website recommends against doing transfers. I didn't use the website, I said, I used the app. I asked them to refund my order. Nope. The fine print is on the website. Buyer beware, especially if you use the Raise app.
I called the help phone # for lot of explanations about my order
And I was very lucky to get the most help from: Ms. Fawn she aid me
To the best result, and i am very satisfied for the help and the success
Result, Thanks again to Ms. Fawn for the time spent to keep customer
Very happy.
The actual gift cards are hit-or-missyou may get a full one, you may get an empty one. But the customer service is a joke. Noliterally. Amongst me and my friends, Raise customer service is a joke; we like to pass around the responses we get, and compare average wait times (right now around 1 month for a response). Do yourself a favor. Pay with cash or credit. Anything but Raise.
I bought a lot of cards doing a home remodel, one card I received I paid 300.00 it had. 30cents on it, so apparently they don't check all of the cards. Then I placed a large order they put it on hold, made me send in a picture of my ID, this is after I've been doing a lot with them? Now my order is on hold and I need to order my cabinets and I have no certificates. Placed on hold for a total of 1.5 hours, if youre willing to go through the hassle sure you'll save money but it is a headache
My $50 gift card- seller sent me a different gift card with lower amount on it.
My $100 gift card & another $50 gift card - Once the gift card arrived, the seller deactivated the gift card.
Raise really needs to figure out the way to cut the tie with the original seller and the gift card.
I am not buying anymore gift card thru RAISE anymore.
COMPLETE SCAM
I have placed a total of three orders with this company. The first gift card was partially honored by the merchant. However, gift cards from the next two orders were not honored by the merchant because (according to the merchant) the gift cards were fraudulent. It has taken me several hours and several emails, and raise.com has only partially refunded the money that it has effectively stolen from me.
Customer service is awful. Very rude and unprofessional. Called around 7pm EST 3/14/19 and female said she was the only person in the department and no one else to speak to and then hung up on me and deactivated my account. All because I asked to change the phone number. She said I had another account? Wrong. Wouldn't listen to a word I said after she made that assumption and repeatedly cut me off when I tried to speak. I would not trust this company.
I sold a Starbucks gift card on Raise.com. It was a $20 gift card that I sold for $15.83. I tried to get my money (available funds), but couldn't without giving them my banking info. I try to be very careful with that type of info as these companies get hacked every 5 minutes or so, then we, the consumer, pays the price. To send me a check would have a $30 service charge which is more than I am supposed to get. They wouldn't let me exchange the money for a card, so I am just out the $15.83. It is not a fortune, but very aggravating nonetheless.
Spent $200 on an e card. Waited over 30 hrs, never received and email with the code, but yet they processed our Credit Card just fine. Filed a complaint. After another 20 hrs later they just canceled our transaction. "Your order was canceled" was what the emailed said. Really, that's it? We were going to buy a closet system from the Container Store and organize. Spent the whole weekend waiting for a ecard. Wish I would have skipped trying to buy from raise.com. The money I would have saved wasn't worth the trouble and waiting. Customer Service didn't even try to apologize or give us a discount off a different card. Wouldn't recommend unless you like to waste your time.
Would not pay me over a technicality. Kept my money. No way to contact them but through email, which no one reply's. Lost 48 bucks. Scammers. Do not sign up
I've purchased MANY gift cards from Raise and have had few problems with the cards after purchase. I purchase with confidence because on the few occasions where the seller didn't deliver the card or the card arrived with no value, Raise refunded my money within seconds.
I ordered a gift card while on holiday; it took me a while to clean up all of my mail and I finally realized that I hadn't received the gift card... before I had a chance to contact raise.com to ask about it, they had already noticed that the card hadn't been sent and issued the refund. WOW! I feel more confident that they have their act together and are working to make sure customers aren't ripped off... unlike giftcardspread which sold me a card which was used by someone else; even after I sent them the info about where and WHO used the card, they never answered my emails or investigated. Grrrrr. Use someone you can trust! - raise.com
Couldn't have asked for more from raise. I ordered an express online giftcard for a ten percent discount. I expected for the giftcard to be automatic after I paid with my PayPal account, but they placed a hold on it. I didn't know that they sometimes do this for first orders. I contacted raise through a webchat with with Wilhelmina and everything was resolved within a matter of a couple of minutes. I just had to log back into my account to refresh. Haha
It was a pleasure using raise. I'll be recommending it to friends.
As a regular customer of RAISE, I was surprised to encounter an issue which was NOT their fault.
Lee went above & beyond my expectations in both remedying the issue
PLUS
She personally assisted in the transaction which replaced the problematic card.
HATS OFF and a very sincere "THANK YOU LEE"... you really did make my day.
If I were there I'd give you a big hug of appreciation.
Gratefully,
Mac
Originally, I thought it was just my luck, it seems like 75% of the orders are defective. Hong Kong shame on you for letting people like this do business in your country, DHGATE represents these Thieves.
This is a scam, buyers beware! Sellers are 3rd party scam artists that buy gift cards, put them up for sale then deactivate them. These are not ordinary gifts cards. There's a lot of bad possibilities for buyers. I would strongly advise to stay away from these types of companies. Raise is the middle man, I called them right away when I couldn't use my gift card at Olive Garden on March 1 2016 and they said sorry but we can't help you your past the 100 day guarantee we have. So I called Darden gift card company, which they advised not to buy from raise because this scam happens a lot. They said I had used $27 on October 26 2015 then on December 30 2015 the card was deactivated due to a billing issue!
No phone help! Live Chat is Robo that does not respond to you. *******@raise.com does not get back to you and they don't ship it delivery confirmation. Called AMEX and disputed charges and BBB. If someone says they did not receive card just take card number and turn it off and ship a new one.
Not worried about money, Amex will handle that. Just poor customer service and support!
COVID LAZY
This is the first review I have ever made for a company. I purchased 3 gift cards from Raise. 1 worked; 1 didn't and they refunded me and 1 card I never received & IT WAS ELECTRONIC! I spend $300 on it September '15. It is now January '16 and I still haven't been refunded. I've gone back and forth with customer service over 9 times. Every email is at least a 3 to 4 day response. Their phone lines are also filled most likely due to other customer service problems. STAY AWAY FOR THIS COMPANY
Kohls would not redeem egift card and the Petco gift card I got was actually a merchandise card that needs a pin number after it is swiped. Customer service was friendly but couldn't resolve either problem and referred my case to research team, said it would take 3 to 5 days to get answer. Great, that's what they said the first time I called 5 days ago.
UPDATE: Raise refunded the money on the closed Kohl's card and it was my error on the Petco card(merchandise card cashier swipes) Good job Raise. Changed review to 5 stars
Answer: I had a problem with the lowes gift cards i purchased from Raise as they did not work at lowes. It took upwards of 10 calls and over 3 months before I received my over $700 back. I will never buy anything on Raise again
Answer: People should unite and file a class action lawsuit against these guys, any attorneys reading this?
Answer: You check the balance on the business' website. For instance, if you have a McDonald's gift card, go to McDonald's website to check the card balance.
Answer: The usual issue is that someone will buy a gift card with a stolen credit card and then sell it to Raise (or others) for cash. Usually within 100 days the gift card issuer will find out when they have been charged back for the stolen card purchase, at which point they invalidate the card and zero the balance. Raise.com will refund you the unused balance on the card prior to it being zeroed out, but only within 60 days of your order. Their short protection policy limits their exposure if a high value card is invalidated and you come looking for a refund three months after you bought it. Every gift card reseller has a different policy for refunds. Some are as short as a few weeks, others last 100 days or more. Raise.com's 60 day policy is shorter than many of their competitors, which is why I don't use them much anymore. The lessons I have learned is only order cards you will use entirely within the next month, never gift them to others, and keep a spreadsheet if you order a lot of cards so you can keep track of balances. In all, I've had about 3% of the 200 cards I've ordered suddenly zeroed out. The majority were for improbably large amounts, which is why I now try and order lower value cards. One site suddenly listed 10 $100 gift cards for Jimmy Johns, a sub shop. One has to wonder who would order gift cards like this in the first place, only to put up for resale. It turned out the original buyer used a stolen credit card to buy them all and turned the proceeds into cash. The cards were all zeroed out. I have learned to be suspicious when a large number of high $ value cards in the same amount suddenly go up for sale. So while it may make sense to buy a $100 gift card for Sears, it usually isn't to buy a $100 gift card for Dunkin Donuts.
