Qatar Airways is a great airline , I have travel with them from Beirut to Guangzhou with a stop over in Doha.The service was excellent and well organized during boarding and on board, food was great , nice hostesses, There was WIFI on board so you can chat with friends and family, entertainment on board was excellent.
Doha Airport is very huge and well decorated, with amazing duty free.
Our trip from Doha to Guangzhou was in Airbus A380-800 plane which is a huge plane ( i think the biggest in the world for the moment).
Recently I had 4 Qatar Airlines flights and the service was awful.
1 Star, instead of advertised 5 Star Airline.
1.) All 4 flights arrived later than scheduled.
2.) Only had 1 meal choice instead of listed 3 meal choices, even when sitting front rows for all 4 flights!! Unacceptable
3.) Checked in luggage did not arrive in same plane, but 3 scheduled flight later in the evening instead of noon time, when I arrived
4.) In Doha, Indian ground Qatar staff told us run to your connecting flight if you want to fly,!! Otherwise we have booked next flight for you (4.5 hrs later). Other airlines provide electronic carts for passenger with short connecting times. We had to run for 15 minutes, because connecting flight was very far from arrival gate.
5.) Majority of Qatar ground staff , flight attendants, online customer service are now South Asian (Indians, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan). Understandable that they are willing to do same work (with slave contract) as other nationalities for half salary, but their attitude and work ethics is poor. On the plane Thai, Vietnamese flight attendant served 2-3 aisles, while fat, disinterested Indian attendants chatted or were standing. Not to mention South Asians thick accent. Qatar Airlines = Indian Airlines in terms of service quality now.
6.) During 3 flights it was very hot in the cabin and in 1 it was freezing. Seems temperature control is not working and not maintained.
7.) Emergency aisle exit rows usually have extra leg room. However our emergency exit row aisle was narrow and top of that the seat were not fully reclinable due to being in emergency row! Very uncomfortable!! Should offer partial refund or free duty free for inconvenience.
8.) On flight entertainment screen 3 out of 4 flight had problem either with sound or touch screen. Should replace faulty units.
9.) Instead of spending all money on FC Barcelona advertising Qatar Airlines should spend more money on training, recruiting and service.
10.) Doha airport is expensive and very average, boring place.
11.) Airport check-in lines are few with long lines for economy passengers!!
Qatar Airines seems only cater for first class passengers and the other flight classes are neglected to the max. Deterioration of service standard clearly visible and experienced. It is time to switch to Emirates, Etihad, Cathay or other European Airlines.
