I've ordered two dresses, one for a winter formal and one for my junior prom last year, from this site and each time, I've been pleased. This is the only online dress store I buy from! I've never had a bad experience purchasing from this site and my mom likes it too.
Some tips and advice:
The dress will arrive quickly as long as they are in-stock and that's probably your best chance of having a quick arrival time. I advise people to buy the designer dresses (Sherri Hill, LaFemme, Jovani, Flirt!, Shail K... etc) rather than the plainer dresses "made" by promgirl.com. They are obviously more expensive, but designer dress quality won't be at the fault of promgirl, but rather the designer company itself so there's that. I buy my LaFemme dresses there and they're authentic too because the authenticity tags are on the dress and they order dresses from the designer company directly! Very pleased with all the dresses I've gotten, and they match the picture exactly and color swatches are quite accurate! Material is beautiful and more than what I expected actually!
As any shopper should, please read the refund/return policies before you order. Many people don't do that and then panic when something goes wrong. I don't think this site should have so many bad reviews because they're actually quite okay. Just order dresses that have your size ready to ship and in stock. Measuring wise, that's the risk at online shopping so you really have to check that yourself.
Always take precautions when ordering online, no matter how reliable the site is. You can't always rely on customer service to get things done. Promgirl does follow its strict rules but they respond fast by email.
Out-of-country people... do your best to order from places in your country because it's really not worth paying custom fees and international shipping unless you really have that kind of money.
I should add that I'm not getting paid for writing this review as I'm a teenager, and don't run any kind of "huge" blogs for advertising. This is my honest opinion and experience from this site! In fact, I just ordered a Lafemme dress for my graduation in June, and hopefully it will arrive soon!

Advice for everyone: ALWAYS look at the reviews of a website before ordering from them to know whether or not they're safe and reliable. I made the mistake of not looking up reviews on the PromGirl website, but it was too late because by the time I saw all of the terrible reviews I had already ordered my dress along with other products. On every review website I checked, it appeared that people did not receive their dress on time, people did not receive the dress they ordered, people did not receive an authentic dress, etc. -- a whole load of horror stories.
My Jovani dress was $300 and miscellaneous items came out to be around $100. I also selected next day shipping because I was ordering my dress last minute, which added another $30 onto my order. So altogether my total was a little bit over $450. You could imagine how much I freaked out after reading all of those bad reviews.
However, I finally received my products yesterday in the mail and I couldn't have been any happier. All of my items were correct and in perfect condition when I got them. I received the exact authentic dress that I ordered in top notch quality and it even came with extra rhinestones in case anything happens to the dress. Inside the box was also an invoice as per usual, and even some coupons for other useful services for prom (like Uber), and a nice 'Thank you' letter. My dress is absolutely beautiful and I feel like a princess in it.:)
I understand being wary because of the terrible reviews so you don't HAVE to order from PromGirl... but my personal experience with them was great. I'll post a photo of the items I ordered if anyone is interested.
PROMGIRL SUPPORT -
Per my conversation with Kelly this morning, I returned the dresses. I cannot jump through any more ridiculous hoops to try and get you to be fair to me, the customer! As I explained in emails, live chat, with photos and verbally - neither of the dresses were worn - 1 was canceled after it didn't ship in time and it arrived too late for the event and the other is damaged / deffective! If your excuse for shipping bad product and giving terrible customer service is that you are "protecting your business from your customer" you won't have any customers or a business to protect.
Promgirl made logistics mistakes (incorrect information about product availability and expected ship date, late shipping, allowing damaged/defective product to ship, etc) and countless customer service mistakes (conflicting information, bad information, the customer is wrong/bad before they're right/good mentality, protect yourself from the customer, difficult to work with, slow to respond, refusing to be fair, etc.).
I've done everything, according to Promgirl's terms of service and I've sent everything that Promgirl's customer service asked in order to receive fair treatment and a return authorization for both dresses. I am within my rights to expect a refund for these items.
Both dresses are on their way back to Promgirl, in the same condition I received them, in the same boxes with all of the order information. Neither of them were worn, as I stated. Neither of them or your service were of any use to me, your former customer. I will be issuing a dispute with my bank for the charges for those dresses - exactly and with tax.
I will share all of this experience with my friends and networks. I will not buy from Promgirl or any company affiliated with Promgirl, again. I will go out of my way to buy from your competitors and to make sure that I tell everyone about this experience and share all of the chats and emails and phone conversations hoping that no one ever has to wrestle for fairness, again.

Also, provided on each size chart is a YouTube video to display how to have your measurements taken if needed. Terrible website, stay far away. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. UNPROFESSIONAL. I bought a dress in 2011 from the website and hated how it looked on. Nothing like the picture. In 2012 I wanted to return it for store credit and get a new one. I didn't think it could be done because it had been a year but the woman on the live chat insisted it could be done. I was thrilled. I even asked her if she was sure it was okay since it was over a year ago and she said no problem. She sent me a return authorization code, I spent $25 on the shipping and off it went. 2 weeks later and I still had heard nothing of my store credit. I chatted the website thinking it was a mistake and instead I was told my return could not be processed because it was over a year old. I told the woman I already sent it and was given a return code and that it was ridiculous. After waiting to hear from her for 10 minutes she gave me a number and told me to call the manager. WHAT AN IDIOT HE WAS. He kept pausing and not knowing what to say. I told him his company made a mistake and he acted like it was no big deal. He didn't even ask me who gave me the code and you could tell he could care less about the mistake. He would not do anything about the problem even though it was obviously his company a BIG mistake. I told them how they wasted my time and it was absolutely ridiculous and he said nothing on the phone and sat there in silence. On top of all that, they had my returned dress for over a week, and did not bother to email me and tell me what had happened. They waited for me to contact them asking where my credit was. Incredibly unprofessional. He never even apologized for their mistake. Teribble website, will NEVER use again.
