Complete Scam!
Made a very last minute online booking for a hotel in NYC last night - everything (dates, price etc) seemed OK until after they sent the final confirmation - their computer system had changed the booking and made it for tonight instead of last night because they couldn't process such a last minute booking (it was 1am, we wanted a hotel for that night rather than trying to drive home).
Tried calling to get hold of anyone, none of the numbers put you in contact with a person at that time of night I guess. Spent ages going through their automated systems wasting more & more time until we just gave in trying to fix it & got a room in another hotel instead. Now they refuse to change/cancel the booking and were less than helpful.
Also worth noting that the female 'Manager' at the hotel in NYC where the booking was made (Hotel Indigo in Chelsea) was rude and very unhelpful when I tried calling them to see if they had another way to contact Priceline since none of the listed numbers were getting me through to a person). She told me she couldn't do anything, then changed her mind & said she was cancelling my booking then basically hung up on me, but when I did manage to get through to Priceline today they told me no the booking was not & could not be cancelled - so she lied to me
This is a shame because I have used them before & it was fine, but this one episode has completely ruined it for me & I won't be back, & will be telling everyone I know to avoid them like the plague.
I arranged for a rental car via Priceline recently prior to a trip to Portland, Oregon. A couple of days after arranging for the four day rental (which I pre-paid via Priceline's website), I flew to Portland and finally arrived at the Thrifty Car Rental counter to pick up the car. After providing the Thrifty representative with my confirmation number, he told me that I (and my rental reservation) were not in their system.
He then told me that my best bet would be to call Priceline directly for assistance with this issue. I went ahead and called Priceline (after waiting a few minutes for a call-back), and I spoke with a Priceline customer service person who I could barely understand (he was obviously not from the U.S.).
After describing my issue with him, he said that the only thing he could do was to cancel my existing reservation, and that Priceline would promptly refund my money (which they did). He also said that I would need to go online and make ANOTHER reservation, which I reluctantly did on my Iphone. This time, I made the reservation with National Car Rental, who's counter was close the Thrifty's counter at the PDX airport.
Because of the above, I will no longer do business with Priceline...
The pricing for the four day rental with National was $150. More than the original reservation with Thrifty, but I went ahead with it thinking that going with National was likely going to be a better experience than going with Thrifty (which it was).
I booked a room with Priceline and discovered I biked it for the wrong date. I tried to change the date but Priceline would not let me. I canceled the room like within 4 minutes and I was still charged for the room. I called Priceline and asked them to remove the charge to my card and they told me they could not do it because I cancelled and it was less than their 24 hour policy. I called my credit card company and told them I wanted to dispute the charge and I also called the Better Business Bureau. I finally got the charge removed from my Credit Card! I WILL NEVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN! I ALSO TOOK THEIR APP OFF MY PHONE!
BEWARE of making "typo" errors when booking through Priceline
I reserved a hotel on Priceline, however, I made a "typo" error and reserved a hotel for a wrong date. I rebooked the (same) hotel on Priceline for the correct date and stayed the night. The hotel NOR Priceline would not cancel the the date I made in error. I realize the hotel through Priceline has a no cancellation policy, however I found out the hardway, that "typo" errors on Priceline will cost you. Up to now, I have been a very frequent user of Priceline and am a VIP status member. As of now, I am removing the Priceline application from my phone and am switching to another booking agency. PLEASE BEWARE... if you make "typo" errors when booking through Priceline. IT WILL COST YOU!
Our flight coming back from Marrakech was changed but the connection flight was left the same. With the new change there was no way we could make the connection flight. We have been contacting Priceline customer service and has been a complete nightmare. Every time they say something different which you can tell are a web of lies.
The last guy we talked to -John, supervisor- was so into the format of what they learn to say, that it was just sickening. No interest in helping the customer at all.
These agents say they have to send an email to TAP to get an approval for the new flights. TAP says that is a lie and there is no such email required when Priceline can do the changes. TAP also said that they are getting a lot of call from customers with the same issue and they don't understand why Priceline is lying to their customers.
Here we are a week later and our flight coming back from Marrakech has not been fixed.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NO RESPECT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS! LAST TIME I WILL USE THIS COMPANY.
I entered my car rental pick up time on Kayak that sent me through priceline that lead me to book an alamo car for $170. Instead of my Aug 27 10pm pick up I noticed that my confirmation email said pickup was Aug 28th at 2pm so I called Priceline that connected me to Alamo support in India that could not comprehend the issue and said my rate would go from $170 to $330 to pick up the car 14 hours earlier. I ended up cancelling and PAYING $50.00 CANCELLATION FEE BECAUSE BETWEEN KAYAK TO PRICELINE TO ALAMO MY PICK UP TIME WAS CHANGED FROM SUNDAY NIGHT TO MONDAY AFTERNOON. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! NEVER AGAIN KAYAK OR PRICELINE OR ALAMO!
The worse company I have even seen or heard in my life - do not ever use it.
I rented a car from them for my son and daughter in law, plane was defective and delayed several hours, they got to Baltimore about 4h late, at 12:05am. Counter closed at 12 but the guy was still there, however he refused to give them the car, he said, now i go home, though my son pleaded with him. I called priceline, the said that my son and daughter could "sleep in the airport until next day and then they get a car." I asked for a refund so we could rent a car form Hertz that was still open, they refused. We paid again, got a car from Hertz. I called priceline next day for a refund since we never got the car and we paid Hertz. The lady refused, I talked to a manager, she said she will investigate and if the plane was late and we never took the car I will get reimbursed. Though I had the proof that we never got the car, that reservation was canceled, we did not pick up he car, yet I never got reimbursed. I called them uncounted times, they were rude and refused to reimburse the amount.
Absolutely terrible customer service, they do not care for customers.
I was considering using Priceline's name your own price for an international flight. I emailed them to ask a very simple question regarding adding infant on lap tickets, since Priceline does not offer this I wanted to get clarifiation as to if this could be done directly with any of the airlines they purchase tickets through... so I asked them do all the airlines they purchase the tickets through allow customers to call after receiving a winning bid to add/ purchase an infant on lap ticket? I kept getting run around answers, and finally after the 3rd reply back on the original email one person said no they could not gaurantee it; however on a separate email I sent, another rep said you surely can call them to add an infant ticket (like it wouldn't be a problem). Basically what Im trying to say is if you plan on bidding for a flight DO NOT expect for the airline to allow you to add/purchase an infant on lap ticket. And if they won't let you, then you are either out the money for the winning bid tickets or you have to try and purchase a separate ticket directly through the airline to have a ticket on the same flight as yours, I was very disappointed when I realized this could possibly happen. I figured that Priceline would gaurantee that the companies they purchase the tickets through would indeed add infant on lap tickets with a fee if applicable.
I rented a vehicle for my eldery inlaws travelling with their 86 yr old mother. They were meeting us in Mrytle Beach for our first ever family trip. Grandma was having diabetic issues the day of the trip and in rushing to the airport, my father in law forgot his license and when they got to the airport in MB, they were not allowed to rent the vehicle. Even thought my mother in law was the one the reservation was under. Numerous calls were made to Priceline over two hours and yet they would not budge and the rental company could do nothing since it was a Priceline reservation. Grandmas medicine was at the condo we were in and she was starting an attack yet Priceline did not care. I had to pay with my credit card over the phone for another rental and have been trying since June to get them their $200 back. I wrote the VP of the company for rental cars and only some secretary wrote me back and said the same thing as all the calls. I understand it was our error gramps did not bring his card, but given the circumstances I believe an exception can be made. I manage a call center and make exceptions from time to time so dont give me there are NONE. Do not use Priceline. What kind of company leaves the elderly out on a limb with medical problems, regardless of whose fault it was. Shame on you Priceline.
Booked 2 rooms with 2 queen size beds on 9/30/19 for 11/9/19. One room for 2 adults and 1 child and 1 room for 2 adults and 2 children at Comfort Suites in Nacogdoches Texas. Tried to check in at 2:30 but hotel said could not check in until 3:00 p.m. No problem.
We went to a football game and tried to check in at 8:00 p.m. and was told the only rooms available were one room with a king bed and one room with a full size bed and since we had booked through a third party (PRICELINE) the only thing they had to provide was a room that would accomidate 2 adults.
Called PRICELINE and was first told that they had to upgrade us or provide the same rooms we had originally booked with a sister hotel close to our location. After they called COMFORT SUITES they told me the same thing about only having to provide rooms for 2 adults. PRICELINE would NOT refund my money or offer a credit for future bookings.
Will NOT ever use PRICELINE or COMFORT SUITES again!
Don't bother. The occasionally competitive fairs are nice, but you pay for it with their unclear and shady terms and conditions, along with inflexible and unhelpful customer service.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED:
I have been traveling all day and made a last minute reservation around MIDNIGHT for a room that was within my budget and that allowed pets. A very short 20 minutes after booking, I went to check in, but was told AT THE desk that there was a $50 pet fee AND a $20 parking fee. Called Priceline about this confusion with the surprise fees AT CHECK IN and customer service told me that they "disclosed" the "possibility" of additional fees and that there was nothing they could do and that the cancellation fee would be the full reservation price. Really?!?!?!?!? I booked the room not less than 20 minutes of checking in at MIDNIGHT... there is no way I would be inconvenience Priceline or the hotel by simply cancelling my reservation after being told I needed to shell out another $70.
I feel that this was a cheap shot on Priceline's part and was within my rights to question fees that were being imposed AT check-in and you should have allowed me to cancel. I think that my request was not unreasonable given the circumstances.
I will never use Priceline again EVER!... never should've steered away from booking.com
Shame on you
I was LAIRED to about the whole situation said if I bought insurance that I would be able to cancel my reservation and when he came down to it I was not able to cancel my reservation so I have to keep the residence and that I'm not even going to be able to use do you use Priceline if you might CHANGES OR interruptions ON your vacation do not use Priceline I was UNLEAD about the whole situation from BUYING insurance that I would be able to cancel my reservation and when he came down to it I was not able to cancel my reservation so I have to keep the residence and that I'm not even going to be able to use so DO NOT USE PRICELINE if you might HAVE interruptions ON your vacation do not use Priceline VERY DISAPPOINTED YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CANCEL IF YOU HAVE TO. Very disappointed in whole situation Robyn
I paid for a hotel room for 3 days and when I went to pay for the fourth day Priceline took the money off my card on the app and then it said it was declined. But the bank showed that the money was taken out, so I called Priceline and ask to speak to a manager name Cindy she said it would take up to 7 days to get my money back, my wife and I said that wouldn't be good enough that why would it decline it? Which she couldn't really explain. So at her request we called our bank and had a conference call and she said she would email them and let them know that they were no longer trying to take the money out of our account and my bank asked for her letterhead what did it say on it and she couldn't explain, so she said just to call them back in 3 minutes 2 an hour to see if they have the paperwork or email requesting not to take the money out of my bank since it was still pending beard that I don't like when I have a debit card in the money's already taken out it says pending because someone is not on my card. This is the second time this has happened the first time I signed up but they ran out of rooms so no money was taken off my card I still couldn't get an answer on why they took the money off my card when there was rooms available and they said that my card was declined, even though my bank says that there's plenty of enough money on there and wasn't declined on the banks end. Last time I'll ever use Priceline I'd rather use hotels.com, even though it might cost a few dollars more it's for my peace of mind and then I know that I'm getting a room that I'm paying for.
I had credit on for a previous canceled flight and they would not honor my seating or other perks that I previously chosen, I had to call three times I will never ever go through Priceline
I will NEVER use Priceline again! I tried to cancel my reservation for a hotel near Disney World because Disney closed due to the pandemic. I had to do it using the "Chat with Priceline" because they will not speak to you on the phone unless your trip is within the next 72 hours. I chatted with Red who called the hotel and reported back to me that Tyler (at the front desk) said they couldn't cancel the reservation and refund me any money. So then I called the hotel directly and talked to Tyler's boss, Sam. Sam said he didn't understand why Priceline was giving customers such a difficult time. He said he had no way to issue me a refund since I had paid Priceline. He urged me to call Priceline back. They could authorize the cancellation and refund me my money in full. So, I chatted with Velle from Priceline. She contacted Sam and said he only authorized to cancel and refund all but the first night. THIS WAS A LIE! Sam had told me had I made the reservation directly through the hotel, cancelling my reservation due to the pandemic would have only taken 30 seconds and I would have received a full refund!
I bid on a car rental multiple times. I didn't realize I would be locked into the bid they accepted without any option to finalize it. When I realized it was final I immediately called Priceline - within 2 minutes of getting to the acceptance screen. I told them I made an error and was not ready to book this. Customer service told me that there was no way to reverse it. I said I made a mistake and misunderstood the process, but there was no stopping the order. I was not treated like a human being who made a mistake and immediately tried to correct it. This is very bad business, and I will not use Priceline again. Their customer service is completely inflexible and does not allow for human technical error. There are MANY companies that are far more human and decent than this one. They are taking my money without my authorization, as far as I'm concerned. As a frequent traveler, I have taken them off my list of booking options. STAY AWAY. THEY DO NOT WORK WITH YOU AND ARE COMPLETELY INFLEXIBLE!
BOOKED IN FEB AND GOT A CALL THE NEXT DAY THAT THE HOTEL WAS OVERBOOKED AND THEY WOULD RELOCATE MY FAMILY SAME PRICE NO CHANGES FOUND A HOTEL AND THEY RELOCATED ME. IN MAY WAS THE TRIP AND WHEN I GOT TO HOTEL THEY SAID THEY ONLY RELOCATED 4 OF THE 7 PEOPLE TO THE HOTEL SO I NEEDED TO PAY 1500 EXTRA FOR THEM UNITL 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS TO SEE ABOUT WHY THE AGENT DID THAT AND GET MY REFUND OF THAT AMOUNT. HAVE BEEN CALLING AND THEY KEEP SAYING THEY ARE INVESTIGATING SINCE MAY 27 WE ARE NOW JUNE 24 AND NOTHING EVERDAY I CALL THEY ARE UNABLE TO HELP.
I made a reservation for my daughter and I as I was taking her to the beach for the first time. I left after work and drove 5 hours to the hotel. When I got there (Extended Stay-Stafford) the front dek agent, "Rondell", said "No, there are no rooms." He was VERY unconcerned and did not attempt to offer any solutions. I stood there in disbelief in the middle of the night (3AM). He said "I don't know why Priceline let you do that because we are booked. They do it all the time." That was it. I called Priceline and they were EQUALLY unconcerned. Houston is a HUGE city. They told me they could refund my money or find me a different room. I asked them to find me another room. The PRiceline agent came back on the line and said "I'm sorry, there are NO rooms available in our inventory." With a crying baby, I had to make phone calls from my car in a strange city and was luckily able to find a Holiday Inn a few minutes away. Why couldn't Priceline do this or go outside of their inventory for emergency situations like these, since it was THEIR booking and hotel that left me without a place to stay? I used Priceline several times a year for years. I never will again.
They don't worth the time to write even poor review about them. Long story short: booked unlimited milage then found out it's 200KM per day. False advertising!
I like the idea that you can name your own price on this site. That makes me check them out whenever I'm looking for a hotel stay.
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
