Because of a short-notice trip to Penticton, B. C., we arrived at our destination without a prebooked hotel, so used Priceline to find and book one.
"$114" per night it said, for a local motel that looked reasonable—so we clicked "Book this deal".
Only once it had booked, we noticed that the actual price (which it didn't ask us to review and approve first) was $169 + taxes and fees.
"You're the third guests that this has happened to," said the friendly motel owner, when we asked him about it. "They quote in USD, but bill you in Canadian. Our room price is $169 + taxes. Phone Priceline and complain: you should get the difference refunded. They did for the other two guests."
So we did. After a 20-min. Wait on the line, I spoke to a young woman, who spent ten minutes getting various details from me, she asked if I could provide a screenshot of the $114 price quote. I told her I couldn't, because I didn't expect to be diddled on the price—but we do have a screenshot that we took immediately after the booking, which showed the room at $124—still much lower than what we were billed.
"Maybe the hotel is willing to refund you the difference?" she suggested.
I told her that was not an option, and that we suspect that we were quoted in USD but billed in Canadian. "I don't know anything about that," she said, and pointed out that they were actually Booking.com (that Priceline belongs to), and since she couldn't get hold of Priceline Customer Service staff, because they were not answering the phone, she was sorry, but there's nothing they can do about it.
I told her that that is not acceptable, and asked that she pass on my complaint and details to Priceline, when she finally got hold of them, and seek resolution of this—else we would know better than to use Priceline ever again. She said she would, and that someone may get back to me after several hours.
They never did. However, we did get two separate email offers of 10% next time we use Priceline, and we noticed that in subsequent searches for hotels through the website, they were now quoting in C$.

Never trust Priceline again
March 2, 2022

If I could give zero stars, I would. My most recent experience with Priceline, will be my last one as they have taken advantage of the vulnerable state I found myself in. Not only did they offer me bad flights knowing I was desperate, but they were not available to rectify the situation they put me in.

At first, Evan seemed very helpful with finding me a last minute ticket to Europe to see what I thought were my dying parents. At first he offered me a three thousand dollar flight, which I genuinely thought would be first class, but once I asked him that, he gave me another option that seemed much more "reasonable". In my vulnerable and frantic state, I thought he had gotten me a deal and a great flight, when in fact I found out later that there were much cheaper and quicker options. In my great hurry, I accepted the terms that the flight was non-refundable and I took Evan at his word when he stated that all I had to do was get to the airport four hours before the flight and it would be an easy flight for me. He insisted there was nothing else I needed to worry about besides my negative COVID test.

Unfortunately, all of his reassurances were wrong. It turned out that since there were two flight changes in Europe, I needed not just the two vaccines and the negative COVID test but also the "booster". Lufthansa could not change my flight since I had not bought it directly with them and NO ONE at Priceline answered the phone or email to help me resolve this issue. I had to buy a WHOLE NEW FLIGHT thru another airline that was faster and cheaper and was never offered to me by Evan. When I finally was able to get in contact with Priceline, after I arrived at my destination, I was told there was nothing they could do.

I am very disappointed with my experience and I feel taken advantage of.

Do not book with priceline.com they don't care about you they just want your money and their pictures are misleading to what you really get. This was absolutly the groosest place I ve seen If you don't mid the ceilings falling in on you and covered with water stains, mildew on the wall, water ALL over the toilet the bath tub looked like a person walked around in it with muddy shoes, the furiture was covered with dust and the all the mirrors were covered in fingerprints and the bed linin looked like it wasent changed in a year, If you don't mind all that then this is the place for you. The rooms look nothing like the pictures on the web sites. Those pictures are taken at a long angle to make it look bigger they are small and disgusting. When I told the front desk about how gross they were they came to the room and couldn't seem to understand why I was so upset, I guess they are just use to mildew and dirt. I told the fron dest I would not stay in these conditions and they charged me for the first nights stay and I had only been there for 5 mins before I decided to leave, this place is crap and is not worth 15.00 an night. Do not stay here. I will be posting this review on all sites to ensure no one has the same experience. Price line charged me for the first nights stay even after I called them to tell them what was going on DO not book with them

I booked on priceline for a hotel in San Juan, PR for a hotel trip. I did not use the Name Your Price tool, I opted for an express deal. Priceline advertised my hotel as a hotel in the Condado district but in reality it was in another area. When you look this hotel up on the priceline website it clearly says it's not in Condado but in Miramar. I called pricelne not once, but twice to cancel this reservation because they clearly advertised something they did not give me, but all of the representatives said that on their map this hotel is 'technically in the Condado district'. It might be true on their map but it's not on an actual map. The supervisor said to me that when I chose Condado as my area it showed me what they considered Condado, however that is true for the Name Your Price tool not the Express Deal. I was not offered a map to look at. The Express Deal clearly advertised this hotel as "Condado Area Hotel with Casino ". Why would they advertise a hotel being in one area when it's clearly not? Why would they label their map wrong? These people were less than helpful and mockingly apologetic. The supervisor said "Aww, you did't get the hotel in the right area?" like it wasn't a big deal. It is a big deal, how about I offer you a Mercedes like car with leather interior and give you a toyota? Stop falsely advising where your hotels are located! One of the customer service people forgot to mute her phone when she put me on hold and she was laughing and saying the hotel is not in the right area, the map is wrong, like this happens all the time. If this happens all the time maybe they should consider changing their polices? I will never use this crap of a website again!

Thank you Priceline for ruining my vacation.

I am happy now to be out of Georgia, where the only monopoly - priceline group is availbable. Tired of cheating owners who try yo deceive you, deceive booking.com and cancel booking. Even if you do not agree to cancel cheating owners set status of no show.

Namely booking number *******647 Hotel "Orbi Sea Tower Flat" in city of Batumi The only ID is phone number +995 555 43 43 77 address is Khimshiashvili, 15 block A, 5th floor room 5-08

On 1 June I arrived at apartment, contacted the host by phone, got in and paid money (200 GEL). Host's assistant Hatuna offered to cancel booking and pay her less money (120 GEL). I rejected that offer.
On 2 June I got message of "No show" with questionnaire to fill. I suppose that the host posted this status to not to pay commission to booking.com (*) I immediately contacted support and posted photos from inside apartment, photos are attached to this mail, I've also recorded video when the host herself came on 5th June to take back the keys from apartment.
On 4 June I got an email from your employee Artur stating that case is closed.
But it's not. Until now status of this booking is still "No show".
The latest message I got from booking.com was stating that once status "no show" is set it cannot be revoked.
That's not correct. I remember how several years ago I got in similar situation in Russia when a host set status "no show", but on the next day after status was changed to correct one with help of booking.com support.
But not this time. Support fro country Georgia is not answering my mails.
There is no phone support in small country as Georgia is. You have to make international call to Russia. It required booking.com 14 minutes to even pick up that call!

THERE IS 2 CHOICES TO PICK FROM WHEN BOOKING ON PRICELINE FOR THE NUGGETT IN RENO. 1. IS 39.00 FOR THE BASIC NON UPGRADED ROOM 2. IS 52.00 FOR A 500 SQ FOOT ROOM AND MOUNTAIN VIEWS. I HAPPENED TO CALL THE NUGGETT TO ADD MARCH 7TH. WE WERE COMING A NIGHT EARLY. I WAS INFORMED ALL OF THE ROOMS ON THE WEST TOWER WERE THE SAME THERE WERE NO DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE 2 ROOMS AND 2 DIFFERENT PRICES AT ALL! AFTER 3 PHONE CALLS AND SPEAKING WITH JASPER HE CALLED NUGGETT AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE IN THE ROOM I PAID FOR. WELL YES THAT IS TRUE I SUPPOSE BUT THERE IS NO DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THOSE 2 PRICE POINTS NO DIFFERENCE! I THOUGHT I WAS PAYING FOR A ROOM A SLIGHT BETTER. IF I WOULD HAVE PUT MY DOT ON 39.00 I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE SAME ROOM. TOTAL SCAM I WILL NEVER BOOK A ROOM WITH PRICELINE AGAIN. I AM VERY LEARY OF THEIR SITE NOW. AND THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE. OVER $13.00 I HAVE A VALID POINT AND QUESTION. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? NONE! MY SISTER IN LAW ALSO BOOKED THE SAME ROOM AND SAME PRICE AS ME SO WE BOTH WERE DOOPED. SHE WILL NEVER BOOK WITH YOU AGAIN EITHER. I WILL ALSO BE LEAVING A REVIEW ON LINE SO OTHER PROSPECTIVE PURCHASERS CAN BE AWARE AND MAY TAKE THE STEPS TO CALL THE HOTEL TO VERIFY THE INFORMATION ON YOUR SITE. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED.

I used priceline.com to locate a hotel for a business travel to New York City from 23 September to 6 October 2018.

I opted for an "express deal" version of their service that normally works for me in similar occasions.

Unfortunately, the whole exercise went wrong when I was given a hotel that does not match what was supposedly on offer. What I opted for was a hotel suitable for business travel with the intention to spend USD 3800 for 13 nights. However, the hotel I was given is called the Night Hotel (132 West 45th street). The hotel is a specialized sort of hotel that caters to clients with Gothic life style and with décor described by the hotel owners as "Gothic Chic". The color theme and everything about the place was dark. It is very eerie and unnatural by any measure.

I immediately made up my mind that I could not stay in the hotel and tried hard to opt out of the deal and not lose the money.

I called priceline right away to seek advice. I didn't get any help despite the weight of my explanation that this was not a mainstream hotel and not at all comparable to the hotels priceline indicated that I could get for the amount of money I was ready to spend. All the agents I spoke to in several frantic calls that day kept telling me express deals are non-refundable.

I also called the hotel and received a similarly unhelpful response despite my firm confirmation to them that I will not be staying at the hotel and that they can take my word to rent the room out. They insisted that I have to deal with price line. They were also defensive when I explained that I did not think their hotel was mainstream and suitable for a business traveler.

While in New York, I made time to drop in at the hotel and appealed to front desk staff that since it is evident that I amnot staying in the hotel, whether they can take my word to rent out the room to help me recover the money. They did not care and remained defiant. Given the limited time I had in NYC and my heavy work commitments there, I could not push it further.

The whole thing was a big scam and I am still trying to recover USD 3800 simply lost through this scam of a deal.

I had a flight tickets that I couldn't use because of my serious illness. I contacted Priceline about a month before my scheduled flight and asked its customer service if I could reschedule my flights if I didn't recover by the time of my departure. I was promised by a Priceline customer service representative that I would be able to reschedule my flights 24 hours before departure with a $150 fee without any problems. It happened to be completely incorrect and dishonest! I tried to contact Priceline a week before the departure to reschedule my flights because I needed to stay in Portugal for medical treatment for the next several months. It was very difficult to reach this company by phone. It was very difficult to communicate with this company's customer service because of the busy line, constant call disconnection, and very poor English language of many of the customer representatives! I had to spend more than 10 hours in five days in a row speaking with multiple representatives for nothing to finally be offered by the last representative a very limited time frame for rescheduling flights. This time frame was not good for me. However, I decided to reschedule my flights at a time that was not convenient for me in order not to lose my money completely. When I asked to reschedule my flights for the time allowed by Priceline, I got the price of $8176 for my new flights, which is more than 5 times more expensive than the price of $1537 for these flights available on priceline.com own website at that time! I was very upset and felt completely fooled. I asked for the name and company ID number of this representative, but she gave me only her first name of Avah without her last name or company ID number. I asked to speak with her manager or supervisor, but I was denied this right. I wanted to submit a complaint, but I couldn't do it with this representative either! Furthermore, I think this company has very bad business practices and completely terrible, dishonest and irresponsible customer service with a very bad attitude towards the customers! I can't recommend anyone do business with this company ever!

SCAM
July 30, 2021

I decided to book a flight through Priceline to visit my husband in Marine training. In doing so I signed up for a credit card. The advertisement to get the card makes customers think they will receive the sign up perk at the time of the purchase. The rewards promised from the card did not come until a month after I had signed up for the card. I was not able to use there perks for the initial flight (The purpose of applying for the card). This was annoying but not enough for me to stop working with Priceline. Although, at this point I was suckered into buying a flight with them through signing up for the card. As the weekend went on my husband and I got an email asking me to rebook my flight because my flight reservation had mysteriously been cancelled. Rescheduling would cause me to pay 200$ more than I had originally paid for my flight home through them.
Customer service was terrible and no one could explain why my flight had been cancelled. They said the customer had cancelled the flight and they could offer no further help. Being the customer, I knew I had to get home and did not cancel my flight. They refused to refund my money and kept offering me a reschedule that got more expensive as time went on. I decided to take a 262$ loss on their business and go through a direct airline to get home. I will NEVER do business with this business again and I suggest no one else does either. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND THEY SCAM MONEY OFF OF CUSTOMERS THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE. DO NOT USE PRICELINE.

Worst company
September 13, 2022

They are the worst company! My husband and I prepaid for a trip with hotel, flight, and car rental. The hotel was horrible it stunk soo bad in the whole hotel! It had black mold all over in the bathroom I have pictures becausei couldn'tbelievethis was acceptable, it looked liked it hadn't been cleaned in a long time we wore flip flops in the shower because we were Afraid to catch something i asthma so it is a big deal to us but we had no other option since we prepaid for this trip so we were stuck there till we able to come back home and there was spilled whatever it was by the bed no extra pillows 1st breakfast that was only two juices, two cerals and some hostess coffee cake which were gone by the time my husband got there then the next day they only had cereal and some reduced price milk that was sitting out, and the last day they said due to emergency there is no breakfast and the housekeeping was demanding tips from us there was fights and prostitution going on around the hotel and I tried to talk to priceline about the hotel and all they could offer me was a 20% coupon compensation that expires on December 12th! My husband and I don't have any immediate plans to take a trip at the moment so that coupon doesn't even apply to us and they wouldn't do anything else for us. I will never book through them again, they will just take your money and keep it! It saddened me that they can do that with our hard earned money, I will let everyone know not to book with them unless they want to just lose money and get crap in return!

By far the worst experience/ scam of a car rental I have ever experienced! They advertise they are at DFW Airport. This is a complete lie. I went to the car center to only find out they were not located there, but 20 minutes away from the airport. So I had to call their main office to try to get there. I along with 20 other people who got scammed the same way i was on the Priceline Website. We were finally picked up. The driver was incredibly rude. We drove@ 20 minutes away from the airport through a subdivision and then an industrial park. We ended up at a sketchy building. The door said easi rental, but the building said it was a paint shop. So all of us go in hoping for answers, but we are greeted by an extremely rude worker. She had no name tag on so. I cannot include her name. I have rented many cars and this was like nothing I have ever experienced. They were asking for paper copies or digital copies of your insurance policies, company name, and your agents name. Of course, some tried to cancel and priceline did not allow cancelation. So we each had to wait quite a long time to try to get helped. The only bright spot was another older women finally came in, who helped me and she tried to be as helpful as possible. They did not have the car I rented, so I was given a car that looked like it had not been cleaned. I dropped my car back off and the same lady checked me out so i could get going to the airport. I explained i needed a ride back to the airport to catch my flight. She told me to go out and have the van driver take me. I went out to the van and said i understand that you can take me to the airport? It was the same rude women from the day before who said nothing, but rolled her eyes. I asked her if she would be dropping me off at my terminal. She said no. The car rental is as far as i take you, you will have to figure out how to get to your terminal. I hope the 20 other people experiencing this the same day I did, will also write this review. I will never purchase anything through Priceline again and avoid this rental company at all cost!

This is one of the worst company or travel agent that I have dealt with.
I booked a car rental through Priceline on October 19. I then noticed
I made a mistake in the book for a rental car company that i did not
Want to go with. I then, within 5 minutes, cancel the reservation
Through Priceline app on my phone, and within another 10 minutes, I
Received email confirmation from Priceline that confirmed the
Cancellation. All these happened within 20 minutes and before the
Original scheduled pickup time at the car rental. A month later, I
Found out I was being charged by the rental car company for a no-shown
Fee because Priceline did not notify the rental car company about the
Cancellation until the 20th. Since then, it has been a constant
Struggle, especially with Priceline for getting any help. Every
Customer support agent on the call has been giving me different stories
And suggestions. Most of Priceline agenets basically said there was
Nothing they could do while the rental car company has been pretty clear
And straight stating that as soon as Priceline provides a few pieces of
Information to indicate the cancellation was made and received by
Priceline before the scheduled pickup time & date, they would refund
The charge. I don't understand and very surprised by the lack of
Cooperation and assistance from Priceline. Instead of just sending an
Email with a few pieces of facts/information, Priceline rather wants to
Go through this endless bureaucracy & BS with me. Whether
I'm getting the money back from the rental car company or not, this is
The end of any relationship with Priceline after 6 years of using their
Services. The occasional money saving you thought you could get
By using Priceline is never worth the trouble and money you may end up
Losing when travel arrangement goes wrong, especially now, most hotels
Are actually providing guarantee'd low rate directly on their site.
Much better, safer and worry-free to book directly from hotels than
Priceline.

My 1st experience I was taking a trip to New Orleans I purchased an entire package Hotel rental car and flight. The fight was a Night Flight by the time we got into the airport everything was closed so rental car company tells me mine and my husband of which we just got married that week could not get a rental car because both of our names were not the card we paid with. I figured we would worry about it the next day we get to the hotel and they tell me that the price I paid through Priceline was not enough they could not get me a room for that rate. I tried to go back through Priceline they said there is nothing they could do about it I would have to discuss it with my bank the car rental place and the hotel I lost everything had to pay extra money to Uber and get a last-minute booking in the middle of the night for a place to rest my head. Well then this weekend here in my hometown in Illinois late at night I needed a room for my oldest stepson I thought what's the worst that could happen if I go through priceline, I booked the room I get them to the hotel they tell me again the price I paid through Priceline is to low for a weekend rate and they don't have any rooms available for me I could come back at 2 p.m. I come back at 2 p.m. and I'm told the same thing that they have plenty of rooms available if I want to pay their rate but I could not check in with my itinerary number through Priceline while standing at the hotel Priceline bluntly tells me the hotel said you were a no-show no refund I stated I was at the hotel standing in front of the hotel representative and that they are clearly telling me that they will not give me a room due to the price I paid and they don't have any rooms available at this rate and I could not check in with my itinerary number needless to say I have just lost more money again 2 Priceline

I booked a Priceline Express Deal a month ago. This past week the exact same Express Deal had dropped by 15%. I called Priceline because this is what the app says. I leave tomorrow for my trip, so it is before midnight the day prior to the trip.

"WE GUARANTEE THE LOWEST PRICE *

See a better deal? We'll refund the difference if you find a lower price within 24 hours of booking.

If you find a better price on an Express Deal up to midnight before you travel, we'll refund you 200% of the difference."

After going through 2 different customer service agents, they kept refusing to honor what their website claims. I booked an Express Deal for a 2 star hotel in Clarksville TN for a king room. The Express Deal today is for a 2 star hotel in Clarksville TN for a king room, same dates, same amenities.

They keep telling me that the hotel is $..., but I really didn't care what hotel I got as long as it had decent beds for about 7 hours, I will arrive around midnight and leave before sunrise. They said if someone books the Express Deal that they might not get the same hotel, but I did not book for the particular hotel. I booked for the cheap Express Deal at this particular exit.

I really get tired of working with a company that squirms and makes every excuse to get out of their promise in writing.

I asked to talk to the 2nd girl's supervisor, but she said that was corporate and that you could only communicate through a letter, not phone or by emails.

I really didn't care about the 200% difference guarantee, just the lower price.

I will only use Priceline when on the road and am wanting a hotel immediately from now on.

The hotel my wife and booked was Sleep inn of leesburg, Florida. When arriving to the hotel we instantly noticed a urine odor walking inside the hotel. My wife asked to see what the room looked like before checking in. After seeing the rooms, we were disgusted by the stains on the line and the odor of burnt tobacco. The hotel clerk showed us another room and that room appeared to not be cleaned as well. We then asked the clerk if a refund was possible and she prompted us to contact Choice Hotels due to giving a refund being out of her hands. We followed thru and was granted a refund by a customer rep from choice hotels by the name of Lilly. Lily explained that being that we booked thru a 3rd party "Priceline" that she had no access to process the refund herself but we would have to contact the 3rd party " Priceline" to have them refund the funds. The customer rep at Priceline called the hotel clerk who told them what she had told us about the refunds were above her pay grade. Priceline didn't want to take the time to contact the proper person to issue us the refund. I would never book with Priceline again not would I recommend their services to anyone. They are apparently okay with false advertising from hotels with pictures on their website that doesn't match the hotels look to date. They don't care that their customers health is at risk, by allowing hotels to book rooms in a dirty environment and refuse to uphold what a 3rd party booking site guarantees. I urge you and anyone else to leave Priceline website as go book elsewhere. Especially in these times with the pandemic going on be very careful with where you lay your head because the condition of hotels in need of money doesn't matter to any of the customer relations department employees.

I had been using Priceline exclusively for some time until a recent trip to Huntsville Texas. I alwasy use my login to book rooms and had booked at the same hotel 3 weeks in a row. For this trip my wife arrived an hour before I did, WITH the Priceline Itinerary in hand and the hotel would not let he check in because Priceline screwed up with the details from my login to the hotel. When I arrived at the hotel, the same clerk who checked me in 2 weeks prior was there and she too refused to check me in because the name listed had my first name as my last name as well. There is a review pending for the Hampton Inn as well. When I arrived, I had the itinerary in hand, I had the downloaded check in on phone's wallet and I had the credit card I booked with yet the fool behind the counter still wouldn't let us in. That's when I turned to Priceline. Even though they knew I booked the trip via my login, they chastised me for doing something wrong. I was like... WTH? I asked them what good my confirmation number was with the printout and what value downloading the booking to my phone's wallet was if the hotel was still going to refuse it. After some back and forth, the useless Priceline agent was still unable to help me and forwarded me to a 1-800 number to fix the problem where again, the agent blamed me. I guess my previous 9 booking in the same year were fine using my login, but this one was not. It took almost 30 minutes after a 5 hour drive before the sorted it out and when I asked what they were going to do for me for the inconvenience, they said "well we just fixed your problem, so what else do you want?". Priceline's benefits' package is a farce. I've looked at other hotels using other apps since I left Huntsville and all the prices are inline with PL. They call me a VIP gold member but there are zero benefits. They claim to offer premium support but they would rather blame me for their problems. I will never used this crappy product again.

$111

$111. For a hotel in Monticello, NY for a 1 nt stay.
First impression... pulled up to the Super 8 looked like a scene from the wild west... gravel driveway/ parking lot, no other cars. Checked in... room dirty, shabby furnishings so I pulled the bed linens to check for bed bugs... OMG... the fact that I felt the need to check in and of itself was horrifying. Okay no bugs... whew! However, there was dirt and hair in the bed. I called and requested clean sheets and in the meantime discovered nuts, chips, bottle cap, dust etc behind the couch. Oh oh I forgot to mention the hole in the floor... covered by the carpeting but had I put all my weight on the area I'm. Sure I would have gone straight through. The staff apologized for mot being able to check all their rooms each day, brought fresh linen And offered to vacuum. Mmmmmm no thanks, we reloaded our bags in the car and left. We drove home after the concert we were in town to attend. We spent less than 30 min in the room discussing our concerns with mgt.
Called priceline who spoke to the manager of the hotel... who LIeD... said we were in The room for 4 hrs (I wouldn't have left my dog in that room for 4hrs) and would not issue a refund. Priceline is supporting the decision of the hotel despite the fact that I offered time stamped videos of the room and pictures of us less than an hour later at the concert... all of which would have proven that we spent less than an hr there. As per Priceline they have standards and guarantee the rooms to be AT LEAST CLEAN... which is a obviously not so. So basically save your money, do the research and book your own rooms... cheaper in the long run...
