Refer to comments below. I booked and paid for 4 nights but checked out after the first night. This was immediately advised to Priceline's customer service. They were to write to me but i have not heard anything yet.
I am still considering what action to take against Priceline. My comments posted on Tripadvisor and copied below says something about my position. I expect Priceline to compensate me for my loss.
I was persuaded to use Priceline.com by a friend and chose Rome for four nights to try it out. I bid for a 4 star Hotel and finally secured one near the Termini Station at US$170 per night. Was advised that the standard of the hotel would be 4 star. In reality the hotel is at best closer to a one to two star hotel. The lobby when we entered was piled up with cases and back packs and while the receptionist ( there is only one) was helpful he could not make up for the standard of the hotel rooms. The room we were given had clean sheets and hot water but after that was appalling, lights not working in the bathroom, lights hanging down unprotected from the ceiling, filthy walls - i doubt the room has been painted in ten years, mould in the bathroom, airconditioning blowing straight down onto the pillow part of the bed - not capable of regulation. Loud hotel generator outside so you cannot open the window. Serve me right for trying to get a better value hotel on a last minute deal but two things stand out, both the Hotel and Priceline are entering into misleading and deceptive conduct. The bidding process does not disclose the the name of the hotel but you bid on a star rating and location. When you bid on a 4 star hotel you should get a 4 star. The hotel purports to have a four star rating but is more a backpacker than a 4 star. Priceline should be required to verify their representation of the standard. I have paid my money, been ripped off and put it down to the University of life. If i had paid $80 per night i would have rated the hotel average. This review is based on value for money.
This site never delayed my any order and they always provide good services. They also provide cheap return ticket.
Was searching for lights and this site was one of the "Highest". Called them and they would not beat the price I found
As you can see on BBB.org there has been 2936 complaints against PRICELINE and that's just one site! You can see just how many complaints there are on the "Ripoff Report". You may ask yourself why is there so many complaints against a company that is service based? First of all, I can truly say " they do not care about me as a customer " and apparently they dont care about 1000's of others! I have had an issue that I've been trying to resolve for 2 days. Multiple calls & emails. It has to do with star ratings & you can see 1000's of other customers have had similar complaints. I wont go into huge detail, other then I booked a 4 star hotel & when I won my bid I did further research on the property. I found Trip Advisor & Expedia both had it at 3 1/2 stars, 4 other travel web sites had it as low as a 3 star hotel. This upsets me greatly! The 2 leading travel authorities show it as 3 1/2 & 4 other sites show it as 3, there is a major problem! My interactions with customer service is by far the WORST I have ever experienced! They just DON'T CARE about you as a customer. Even after I sent them all the documentation on the property, they still REFUSED TO DO THE RIGHT THING! When I told them I write travel reviews & will be writing a review a day for the next 7 days, I was told go ahead. It is SAD in today economy all we want is what is FAIR & RIGHT, they just DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU AS A CUSTOMER! They would rather have you ANGRY & UPSET, THEN DO THE RIGHT THING & HAVE A SATISFY CUSTOMER! I JUST DON'T GET THEIR RUDENESS! All I can say 1000's of consumers cant be wrong, DO NOT USE PRICELINE.COM! YOU BEEN WARNED!
Computer Booking Error. Immediately brought to attention of Priceline. Failed to Accept Responibility
I booked a room on Priceline and thought i was getting a great deal. The hotel's website was $50 cheaper than Priceline's price. What's the point?
Once you reserve and ask them to cancel in 10 mins they are saying once but button pressed they can't cancel. Very rude and not helpful.
So I booked a room on June 24th and North Jackson would Priceline and on their site it said that the motel allow pets I had my dog with me the only way I could get the rate was by propane when I talked to the motel they said they did not allow pets in Priceline was incorrect. I called Priceline to cancel because I could not stay there with my dog and they said they were going to call the motel themselves they admitted that they looked at the information on the motel and the motel did say it allowed pets. The representative put me on hold for a while and then came back and said he couldn't get ahold of anybody at the motel and said he would have to call me back and he would call me back in a couple hours. I never heard from Priceline again so today on July 13th I called to find out why I never heard from anybody the representative informed me that they had never been able to get ahold of anybody at the motel until two days ago. He said they sent me an e-mail I found the email in the email they said that they did not guaranteed at that Motel allow dogs and they would not refund my money. It was very clearly on their website that that Motel allowed dogs and refuse to return my money I will never use Priceline again they are nothing but a rip off do not make a mistake of using these people. I'm out $75 because of them.
DO NOT USE PRICELINE. THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. INCOMPETENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY WILL LIE TO YOU ABOUT YOUR REFUND. THEY SCAM PEOPLE OF THEIR HARD EARN MONEY. THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS.
I have been using Priceline every single day of the year for about two years now I am a platinum member first of all they have problems with lying and customer service in their whole system together throughout did two years I've been using them they have caused so many problems for me that I don't want to use them anymore like today and yesterday, yesterday was Valentine's Day I booked a room that said was available to get there and to find it's sold out so I have to call Priceline to cancel but no I can't because the wait time is two hours and there's a winter weather advisory and it's 27° outside I didn't receive a call back until 11:13 at night For just the men to hang up on me after waiting for so long and then I go on Twitter to find out they're doing that to everybody but all they can do is give me a refund and no free night they don't give a f*** about who spends their money with them so you shouldn't spend your hard earned money with them I had to sleep in the car on Valentine's Day with my boyfriend then I got a flat tire on my way back up to my own state because I was traveling because I couldn't get a room stuck out there for an hour had to buy a jack from AutoZone and then get back in my own state late We couldn't even do anything for Valentine's Day but drive because of Priceline
The priceline is scamming people and the companies the do business they charge what it show on the website stealing people's money
In early 2023, I bought airline tickets for my daughter and her friend to go to Thailand for the summer. In May Priceline notified us that the itinerary had changed, so we looked for different date and got a new itinerary and got confirmation from Priceline that it was all good and confirmed. Three weeks before traveling, I went to the airline's website to purchase the seats so the girls could sit together. The airline told me that there were no seats for the girls and that there was a reservation but "no booking." I spent 10-20 hours over the course of several week talking to Priceline to try to resolve the problem. Finally, Priceline told me to talk to the airline directly and the airline said they can't help me since I bought it with a travel agency. I ended up having to buy the tickets elsewhere which cost me an extra $2,000. I asked Priceline for a refund. After several weeks and receiving no confirmation of the refund, always hearing we are working on it, we filed a dispute through credit card company. After the dispute process started, Priceline refunded us within days. The Priceline team I delt with was apparently outsourced to non-US based office. Some of them spoke very accented English and were difficult to understand (I am not a native-English speaker, that is not intended as derisive as I know how difficult it is to learn a 2nd language but made it very difficult to communicate). It seemed that their customer service strategy was to say everything is OK, don't worry. Multiple times they assured me everything was resolved and nothing to worry about, but every time I called the airline, nothing was in fact resolved. They could have easily taken responsibility for their mistake and rebooked our flight but they never did. I even called the number on the website to the US based Priceline, but they have no record of my purchase because without our realization we had been outsourced to a foreign based travel agency. I will never use Priceline again, they were rude and made no attempt to correct their mistake. Don't use them!
Had a wonderful and easy experience. The check in was okay and the process was fast. I would defiantly use it again
I found best reservation system over here. Priceline is best among all online reservation providers. I shall reorder when I'll need them.
First time using them, attempted to book a flight for 5 people that totaled $2,218. I entered all the info to book, clicked "book flight" and received a message that the flight was no longer available. I went back, found another flight for a few bucks more, entered the info and was again told "this flight is no longer available. I went to the airline site to book tne same flights, at the exact same;price (interesting I know!), of course the flight was available but my card was declined. I log in to check my credit card account and Priceline has two $900 payments that have been removed and one for $1,600, I called Priceline and the person on the phone stated the $900 was to ensure payment was available, I asked why they needed to know whats available when the flight was not. Then when asked about the $1,600 payment, she stated "we will GIVE you your money back in 1 business day"... thing is why did you steal my moniey out of my account when the flight wasn't available? First and last time and I will be sharing this insight with everyone I know, They have bascially triggered the fraud alert on my account so there is nothing I can do until I call my credit card company in the morning. Save yourself! Just book with the airline, the price was the same AND available smh.
Last week i hire their car service. That's meet my expectations. But they should think about price. I hope they will definitely think about this.
I have used many other hotel reservation services. They were not good as priceline provided me hotel services. I am happy and thankful too priceline.
When i hired their services i was worry about it. Now i am so happy that their services were beyond the my expectations. Thanks priceline.
Good prices if you work it. You have to enter repeatedly to get the better pricing. One of the sites I search on to travel.
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
Priceline has a rating of 1.3 stars from 2,662 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Priceline most frequently mention customer service, rental car and credit card. Priceline ranks 440th among Travel Deals sites.
