No refund for my car rental reservation. It's a bad company taking advantage of customers during the Corona Virus outbreak.
Their "BEST PRICE GUARANTEE" is very DECEITFUL! While booking my vacation package with a sales representative at Priceline, I was informed that as part of their "Best Price Guarantee" program, that I had until the day my trip started to inform them if I find a cheaper package on another website (i. E. Travelocity, Hotwire, Expedia, Orbitz, etc). I got this confirmed twice before I hung up the phone. I didn't know anything about a "price guarantee" or that one even existed, so as anyone would be, I was excited to hear that I had until the day of my trip to inform them of finding a cheaper vacation package (as long as it was the same hotel, flight itinerary, etc). They said that if I find a cheaper package "ANYTIME before my vacation started" they would refund me the difference and send me a $25 priceline voucher.
It wasn't even a week later that I found my exact same vacation package (same hotel, same flight itinerary, etc) for $200.00 less on Travelocity.com. So I called Priceline thinking that they would honor their claim but they told me that I was misinformed by the Sales Representative and that I really only had 24 hours after booking to let them know about a cheaper package.
I was very disappointed. I would have been fine had I been told the truth on the front end by the Sales Representative that I only had 24 hours to inform them of a cheaper package. But because of this deceitfullness, I don't anticipate booking another vacation through Priceline.
I will never use this sight again and will tell everyone I know to steer clear. I booked a hotel room through Priceline with Embassy Suites at 2:30 on July 4th to be able to watch fireworks in Austin---where I live. I did this to avoid fighting traffic. I discovered an hour later that I booked the wrong location. Pricelines response was that I had to have canceled by July 3rd. Hello--i hadnt booked by the 3rd!'They would not transfer the credit to the correct location or just refund my money. They didnt even iffer store credit at there crapoy sight--not hat id want it! They were not apologetic at all and offered no solutions. This sight is a SCAM. I will be disputing the charge on my credit card. I may even sue them here in Austin---I'm a lawyer, so no real sweat iff my back. Maybe they will think twice before being so unreasonable and trying to shove contracts of adhesion down our throats. If a less than one star option existed--I would give them that. I have used orbitz, Expedia, travelzoo and others with no problems. Priceline is a joke--a sick one. Run don't walk.
Whatever you do, do not book through price line. Outrageous fees and good luck canceling then rebooking. They will charge to triple
I wish to read all these reviews before i had a deal with them, it was totally nightmare i cant forget.
Horrible customer service and they did not honor the deal they promised. There was no resolution to the issue at hand.
People, please! Do yourself a favor and book your flight somewhere else. I bought an international flight from Priceline in August of this year for a trip in December, but the flight has been modified 3 times already with an 8-hour layover in some case. Last week, upon checking my reservation to make sure nothing has been changed again, I was astonished to see that my return flight has been cancelled without any notification.
I called Priceline to inquire about the cancellation, they told me to call the airline (mind you, the booking was made by Priceline) to find out why happened. When I called the airline, they sent me back to Priceline as they stated that the reservation was not made through their portal. That's where things started to make sense to me as stating by the previous customers, Priceline is totally fraud. I've been calling the customer service for over a week to get my return ticket reinstated but to no avail. At one point, they transferred my call to a so-called supervisor who put me on hold for almost 20 minutes and hung up the phone.
I'm at a few days from my departure and Priceline decided that they cannot honor their contract and opted to refund me the cost of the flight. Isn't a messed-up situation? I'm left stranded and need to purchase a new ticket which has doubled in price for the same destination.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU BOOK YOUR FLIGHT EITHER WITH THE AIRLINE COMPANY OR THROUG A RELIABLE AND REPUTABLE ONLINE BOOKING PLATFORM.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM PRICELINE OR GO WITH IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I made my original booking to find out that the the request failed. I was told by priceline that it was because I added a rental car to my package and sometimes that messes their system up. So I booked again, without the rental car and it still didn't go through. This time priceline blamed the hotel I chose, saying that the hotel still had rooms listed, but there weren't any rooms available. So, try number 3, I changed hotels and submitted the package to have it fail again. Priceline's reason this time - the airline had seats listed when there really weren't any seats available! Unbelievable! And guess what, each attempted booking put a hold on my bank account for the price of the package! - Even more unbelievable! And to try to get it resolved quickly through priceline - what a joke. I'm not even sure how this company stays in business. I've written priceline an email detailing my situation 2 days ago and haven't heard anything in response. DON'T USE PRICELINE, UNLESS YOU HAVE LOTS OF MONEY IN YOUR ACCOUNT TO BE PUT ON HOLD!
Rented a non-refundable compact car thru Priceline (a third party) and when I got to Fox car rental, there were no compact cars available and had to pay $20/day plus fees/tax extra for an upgrade because Fox car rental policy does not give free upgrades if customer rents thru third parties like Priceline (at least that's what they told me). Fox car rental policy warns not to rent thru third parties, like Priceline, but rather straight thru the car rental because third parties do not have list of live inventory of cars available and cannot guarantee rental availability, and reserving straight thru Fox car rental will guarantee you a free car upgrade if car is unavailable (something Priceline does not tell you). Unfortunately, when I called Priceline to dispute the upgrade charge, Priceline did not want to take responsibility for their false advertisement. Priceline says they can get you car rental of your choice and for the lowest price but be warned, it is not GUARANTEED and not always for the lowest price.
I am a first time user that will NEVER use Priceline a second time. I was ripped off. On June 21,2019, I used Priceline website for a hotel reservation. Within minutes of making the reservation, I received the confirmation and realized that I booked the hotel for the wrong date, July 4-5 instead of June 21-22. I immediately contacted Priceline via the chat feature and the representative said she worked with the hotel and was able to make the change to book the hotel on the correct date and that everything was "resolved." I used the hotel booking and assumed all was well. However, on July 1st, I received an email from Priceline about the hotel booking again, for July 4-5. Once again, I immediately reached out to Priceline via the chat feature. The agent told me that the booking had been "resolved" but the hotel would not reverse the charges. I went back and forth on what Priceline thought the meaning of "resolved" meant but finally gave up. I contacted the hotel and they told me that I would not be charged for the July 4-5 booking, it had been cancelled. They let me know that Priceline collects the money up front and it is Priceline that is not going to refund my money. I confirmed that I had not been charged by the hotel, just Priceline. The fact is, Priceline keeps your money whether you use a reservation or not. BEWARE OF USING 3rd PARTY PROVIDERSI will never do it again, even if it save a few bucks.
I booked two nights at a hotel through Priceline, booked separately because last minute decision. Paid for 2, stayed 2 but charged twice for first night... duplicate charge has been pending for 5 business days. Priceline insists they will "research" my duplicate charge for 3 MORE business days before emailing me a letter of release. Seriously! The proper thing to do would be to release the duplicate charge (its been 5 business days... today it the 6th day) and research their own error on their own time, and dime. But instead I have to continue to wait for my $96.49, my money! Because of how they have handled their own error and the amount of others who have complained of similar situations going back 20 years (unbelievable) I will never use Priceline, for anything. I encourage others trust your bank account to another company. I didn't mention the language barrier that prevents the reps from truly understanding the problems or being able to effectively address complaints/issues. Also, it says my second stay is still open, but I stayed and checked out. They spoke to the hotel while I waited on hold to confirm their forms of payment were correct. When you book through Priceline, they send the hotel a type of online gift card to pay for your room. Then the hotel uses it to pay when you check in. Everything was verified and the hotel did everything right. The charges on my statement are all from Priceline, wtf is there to research aside from their billing/booking errors?! I have reported them the BBB for just bad business practice. I hope everyone else does to so they have to face consequences for using or holding our money inappropriately.
I had a rental car from Priceline purchased with an Express Car Deal. The city I was going to was shut down due to the virus. Every other company just moved my current reservations to my new dates. Priceline said I had to take the coupon and then I could just simply rebook a car. The catch is, it has to be another Express Car Deal on the website. The next great catch... there are NO EXPRESS CAR DEALS ON THEIR SITE! I have emailed and called multiple times to try and get assistance or pointed in the direction of these deals, and all they will say is "oh there are plenty on the site". Then when I asked them to point to one example, or show me a screen shots or any proof, they then say "oh sorry, we can't help you make a reservation". I finally got one rep that said most Car Rental Companies are struggling and a lot of them are considering bankruptcy. Because of that none are doing these deals.
So I am stuck with a coupon for over $400, for an express car rental deal, that expires in a year, on a site that NO LONGER OFFERS EXPRESS CAR RENTAL DEALS! They will not help at all. Will only say "they are on the site, you go find them, we can't help".
SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM! Never use this company. Hotwire was awesome to work with, had 3 different no refund deals with them, and they refunded or moved everyone of them, and they actually helped. Unlike Priceline which once they have your money, are completely useless.
Seems like most times I get booked at the same price that the hotels offer on sites like expedia or tripadvisor, so whats the point?
I tried very first time priceline for car renting. And i had an awesome experience. Because of this i had amazing date. Love you priceline.com
First, I *never* write negative reviews online or social media. I'm making an exception for Ace Rental Car at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas because it was so awful. The one star is for the rental agent who checked me out when I picked up the car. Her name was Sharon and she was helpful. Ace would like you to think their rental center is at McCarran Airport with the other agencies. It is *not.* First, you take the regular-size, well-air conditioned bus to the car rental area. Then, you're told to go across the street (in 110+ degree heat) to wait for the tiny ACE Rental mini van. Which then takes you to a tiny building well into Henderson. The driver was rude and unhelpful. My husband is partially disabled. That did not matter a bit to this company. We waited almost an hour for the car in a poorly air-conditioned and badly -ventilated, crowded (there is still a pandemic in the world outside the US) area. Then, we, again me dragging our luggage because my husband is disabled, to an outside area to wait for the car. Again, 110+-degree heat. Our flight arrived on time from GDL at 2PM. It was after 4PM by the time we finally checked out the vehicle and went on our way. No one helped us navigate the dash controls; I had to raise my voice to get someone to tell me how to release the parking brake. The car was unregistered, with a temporary sticker hanging by a worn piece of tape from the front window. While clean inside, the car was dirty outside. We allowed two extra hours on the way back when returning the car, and the experience was worse. The car is dropped well away from the "office" with again not a single dispensation for my husband's disability. And we waited at least 45 minutes for the shuttle (which holds only 12 people at a time) to return to the airport car rental area. I am disgusted. I will never use this company again (it was absolutely not worth whatever the savings I received booking it through Priceline). *DO NOT* rent from this company. And Priceline needs to drop them from their offerings. When I called Priceline to complain, they said there was nothing they could do. I have already filed a dispute with my credit card company. And will never use Priceline again. For anything. That is all.
I booked a hotel room with through priceline. I was visiting family for a funeral in Montgomery, Alabama. As soon as I started to put the key into the keypad, I noticed the fingerprints dried food. I almost did not enter. When I did, I stepped into the hotel room, and my shoe stuck to the bottom to the floor as there were sticky stuff on the floor the room smelled horrible! I did not go further. I exited and went to the desk in front and told them that I wanted to cancel. Once I spoke to the gentleman, he said I had to go through Priceline because I had booked through priceline. This was on April 14 today is April 30 and I have been getting the runaround since day one from priceline to cancel my reservation and get my money back. Priceline insists that there's nothing that they can do. When you call Lynn, you speak to people from the Philippines. Apparently Priceline does not maintain their business in the USA. For me, that's a problem. When speaking to one of the representatives he was very rude, interrupted me as I was trying to talk to him just kept telling me there was nothing he can do and if the hotel does not accept the refund then I will just have to accept it. I do not accept that kind of customer service or lack of. I encourage you to stay away from priceline because what I have gone through is very stressful and frustrating and you have to go through it with everyone that you speak with at Priceline is even more tiring. Priceline gets a zero minus. As well as the best American inn in Montgomery, Alabama. I was forced to give them a star in order to enter my review. I want to make it known that they get zero meaning no stars at all they don't even deserve half of a star.
Priceline quoted a rental car for CAD682.59, total price ended up being $841.90 due to add ons the car rental place forced on, let priceline know and attached a Marketplace article that also supports that the company misleads and adds on extra costs, reviews of Economy Rent a Car also show this. Called priceline got this:
We understand your claim that the rental counter charged you more than the reserved price. We contacted Economy Rent a Car, and they explained that you were charged correctly for the rental rate and tax; however, the reason for the increase of the overall rental bill to 841.90 CAD is due to the additional services that you added at the time of pick up. Their records show that you added the Third Party Deductible ($119.50), AMF ($113.54), along with the applicable taxes and fees. Based on the rental details, they concluded that these charges were rendered correctly for this reservation. If you have any further questions or verification, please feel free to contact the rental counter directly at *******444.
So priceline believes the rental company and not the 1300 reviews and Marketplace, I also phoned Economy Rent a Car and recorded them saying the priceline quote is wrong that there is addtional charges when you show up to get the car, also that the unlimited miledge is faslse there is a 3K cap for the 10 days of rental.
We booked a van rental the end of March for a family vacation. Four days later we needed to cancel this rental due to our son and daughter not being able to get this week off at their work. Priceline advertises " Unlimited Mileage" " Pay at Pick-up" "Free Cancelation". After 4 days my credit cards was billed, and when I called back to cancel or even change the date. I was told this was a "Non Cancelable Agreement". Apparently, Priceline has an agreement with Avis according to Priceline that you can't cancel or change once you've booked. This would have been nice to know, and if Priceline was forth coming and honest in their business practices I would have. Priceline is a company of Greed, not Customer Service friendly at all. Now we have tried to make changes to our vacation to accommodate Priceline and keep the original agreement due to being charged for the van only to find out Priceline has cancelled the rental through Avis. We have no van for vacation and Priceline won't refund our money.
IS THIS A COMPANY YOU WOULD WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH?
Wish I had checked Priceline Consumer Reviews before.
Not again!
I am just appauld at Priceline.com's fraudulent online pricing. I have never written a review for any company or website before but I am so disgusted by my experience with Priceline that I feel compelled to do so.
I have been looking to book hotel for Ottawa, Canada. Priceline website showed prices on their website. I selected a hotel to book, as soon as I hit book button the price would go up $100+ per night. I tried with several different hotels on their website all had the same issue.
It is clearly fraud. If I wasn't careful in looking at the numbers they would have charged hundreds more by tricking me.
So I tried calling their customer care phoneline. System asked me for my phone number and the system would say that they cannot pull my itenary and system would hang up.
In one case where the price was honored by the website, the system kept rejecting my credit card number. I used different credit cards thinking there was something wrong with the card but it didnot stop.
I used the same credit card to book the hotel through Booking.com half an hour later and there was no problem. I think Priceline's system was rejecting the credit card because they didnot want to honor the advertised price which was lower than any other website for that same hotel. What a waste of time and energy!
Very disgusting! Never use this website!
I was using Priceline for several years. Four months ago I booked and paid a full advance for my upcoming Four months later trip to Hawaii thru Priceline and carefully read every single detail to make sure about the contract several times. But when my wife and I arrived from a 20-hour drive and flight, the hotel asked for a resort fee that was never mentioned anywhere in our contract. It was mentioned in the contract that the price included all fees and taxes. So I had to call Priceline customer service and talked with a nonexpert representative. After explaining every single detail, she put me on hold for a long period of time and told me I had to pay whatever the hotel asked. So I had to ask to talk with her supervisor, again and again, being on hold for a long time. After waiting for a long time on hold the supervisor introduced herself as Katie. Again, I had to explain from the beginning every detail and heard the same answer so it becomes clear to me, they don't care about the customers and their contract details. Because I already paid in advance I had no other choice (after a very long exhausting trip and having to stand more than an hour to talk or be on hold). I have the full contract as well as every single screenshot of the processing of the reservation. Nowhere it is mentioned I was supposed to pay any extra fee at the place.
What they did was totally illegal and a kind of scam. I had to pay more than the usual price, although I already paid fully in advance Four months ago. It was the worse reservation I ever had considering the time it took and the headache it caused for me. They are not reliable and they have the worst customer service and support. Zero satisfaction. Never use their scam services.
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
Priceline has a rating of 1.3 stars from 2,662 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Priceline most frequently mention customer service, rental car and credit card. Priceline ranks 440th among Travel Deals sites.
