This review is for the Lady Lake location in Florida. My husband and I are very disappointed with how the company handled our business with them. When I tell you there are too many problems to list I truly mean it from start to finish. From going in and getting a price to buy our trailer out right, and changing their mind to consignment, things being stolen from inside our RV, from the battery's being dead, the lies, it just goes on and on and on. So I highly suggest you stay away from the Lady Lake Florida location and find somewhere else to go. You've been warned.
PPL Motor Homes Service Department has a serious lack of integrity! They lie, they overcharge and it appears they are not well versed in fixing RV's. If they say they will call you, don't hold your breath, you will need to call them and if you actually get someone to answer you are incredibly lucky. They tell you they spent all this time on your RV - a lie! They come up with some ridiculous "industry standard" and what should only be 30 minutes they'll say is multiple hours. If it takes so long to identify a pretty basic situation, clearly they have no idea what they are doing! There is no communication between them, none of them seems to know what the other is doing. A few years ago I took my RV there and they did a decent job, since then they have obviously had employee turnover. Guess the ones that knew what they were doing, got tired of working for a company with no integrity and left. The current folks must take classes in customer deception, cause they seem to be good at that.
Had a major problem with our main slide out in my 2018 Georgetown. Took it to PPL here in Summerfield FL and met with Kristin and Joel in the service center. They accessed the situation and gave us an estimate that seemed ok. During the actual work they discovered a couple additional problems and called me to come over. We met, worked out what needed done and they finished the project in record time. I'd would highly recommend using these guys for your service work. Joel the service manager was great to work with.
... and lies, specifically dealing with KimberlyC. But since she's allowed to conduct business this way, that typically means management approves, so stay away from them all together if at all possible.
We paid for an inspection of items listed by PPL Motorhomes to be noted as working or not working at time of final pre-purchase review with the customer. The list provided by PPL included measuring the refrigerator and freezer temperatures, which was not done by our reviewer. This final inspection process can be overwhelming to the new owner as it reviews the entire workings of the trailer. This is the first weekend we will have the opportunity to use our new-to-us travel trailer and the refrigerator does not work, plus it is missing one of the handles for the sewer lines. This is unacceptable business practice.
I consulted these people to sell my Airstream camper. Nancy (listings manager) said that I could get $20-25K and they could sell it in about 30-45 days, based on previous sales. I asked her to send me the data on the last year of sales for Airstreams (listing price, selling price and days on market). Her tone changed very quickly, and she told me that was "proprietary information" and I could go somewhere else to sell it. So I took her advice I listed it on RV Trader on the web, sold it in 2 days for $40,000, and had more legitimate offers. Keep your hand on your wallet if you have to deal with these people.
I simply could not cross reference my toilet parts anywhere on line. The parts department manager got on chat with me & in minutes had the correct parts w/ part numbers so I could place my order on line.
Timely delivery w/ standard delivery option.
Thanks PPL
When we consigned our RV at PPL Motorhomes in Summerfield, Florida, we had a nightmare of an experience. We lost over $4600 by taking our RV there for consignment and uncovered why it would also be bad to buy an RV there. It was so bad that we made a 40-page document and sent it to their headquarters in Houston, but never got a reply. We would recommend PPL Motorhomes only to our enemies. If you really want details, we made a video: https://youtu.be/0DHYD8FOkVQ
DO NOT TRUST PPL MOTOR HOMES! I put my Toy Hauler om consignment with them. They told me 10% commission, they lie they are not transparent. They told me the floor was bad and deducted 4600. 00 from my proceeds without any prior authorization. They do not return phone calls. They do not communicate. Oh and they haven't given me the proceeds! I will be filing a law Suite against them. I have never felt so ripped off.
Great site. Bought a bike rack for my pop-up trailer. I thought on some things thier prices were a little high, so shop around before you buy, but don't hesitate to buy from them if they have the best price. Trusted seller.
I bought an automatic satellite antenna from ppl online. When it came I could tell that it was used. The manual had large patches of whiteout on it covering someone else's notes of the model# serial# phone #s etc. There was no padding inside the box and it had clearly been opened and taped shut again. Then. Get this. The receipt stated boldly that they do not take returns on electronic parts! It worked for a while but now it is acting up and having trouble finding the sats!
I ordered a much needed part late one Friday evening knowing it would probably not get shipped until Monday. But on Wednesday I still didn't have a tracking number I called to see what happened. They told me it was "on it's way". Later that night I checked number again and it was now at the post office in Houston. So it took three days to get out of their store?
Replaced a leaking, much older 6 gallon Atwood water heater with this new 6 gallon electronic ignition model. Evidently, I made an error in which unit I needed - wanted the combination electric/gas model but got the gas model instead. No problem. I needed hot water NOW. My brother helped me to install it and I could not be happier! I am now thoroughly enjoying a very ample supply of hot water! Also, extremely pleased that unit arrived about three business days after placing order.
Their online site currently doesn't allow you to order from Canada which hopefully will be fixed soon. Otherwise their phone sales person was very helpful and completed the sale. Very pleased with their service.
Great customer service, I had a typo in my email address and your customer service department, fixed it and updated my order info quickly. More information on any items would help with some things, Thanks
We were having a difficult problem with our motor-home batteries not staying charged. Finally got it figured out and ordered the converter. Easy install and batteries are now staying charged. Your patience and understanding in this matter greatly appreciated.
Great experience online, order went smooth, shipping was fine and the unit itself seems ok but a plastic piece inside the water outlet is broken. This piece is inside the water connection and therefore could not have been broken during shipping and to be fair probably didn't happen at PPL but nevertheless I have to figure out how to resolve this instead of install my new water heater and go camping.
I placed an order and it was lost by the shipper. Called PPL and told them what happened. PPL shipped another overnight. That means alot to me and I will shop with them from now on. You can't beat great customer service these days.
Called your parts number and unfortunately you sales person was not able to find the part I needed, said that you didn't have it. Luckily my son was able to do a search himself on your online store and found the part within minutes. We then ordered them and they came quickly and they are exactly what we needed.
We made an appointment last winter, they had the vehicle for 6 weeks. We made several calls for estimate and status, rarely returned. Picked up the rv and the dashboard fabric was torn, and dash scratched, strut on passenger side was repaired, but that on driver's side-which wasn't an issue when we took it in-was broker. Made an appointment to get that fixed and took it in on Monday/Tuesday. Have left 5 messages as to estimate, final call was to tell them we would pick it up and go elsewhere. Obviously, no one listens to the messages because they were surprised when we picked it up. Never take your rig there-find another repair service
Answer: Yes, this site is for real. They sell RVs. I am very satisfied with them for their parts as I purchase the majority of my parts through PPL.
