I have been on the site for about 2 years. I have never had a problem on the buying side. Clothes come quick! On the selling side, I've already had two issues on three things I have sold. Poshmark customer service is non-existent - you will get one generic response once a week to your issues. How can that be legal? Also, it makes me uncomfortable the buyer has your address. I don't understand how BBB can give them an A+ rating when there are 100s of negative reviews. If something goes wrong, you are stranded! I am getting off the site.
I loved Poshmark until I purchased something on it. The coloring of the item I purchased was way off, so I return the item. Or so I thought. 2 weeks later, the package still hasn't been delivered, says it is being "forwarded" and poshmark is not returning any of my emails. So, I am out $60. I will never buy anything else from here. The customer support is sorely lacking.
I would tell my story on here but it would take too long to type and explain everything that happened with this company. All I can say is STAY AWAY FROM POSHMARK. Please read and research all the reviews on this site, Better Business Bureau and RipOff Report.
My #1 complaint is that this company does NOT have phone number that you can call and talk to someone. It's a recording and you can't leave a message because their 'inbox is full'. Also, if you try to contact them by email, they will only respond to you by GENERIC email. Everyone gets the same email. You can't get help from this company.
If I could give ZERO star, I would.
Never using this website again. Bought a dress for $82 and received something that did not describe what I ordered. I sent the pictures and still was told I'm not eliglble for a refund. What a waist of time and money!
I am new to Poshmark and prior to this purchase I had only bought one item. That purchase was great however the next one not so much. I was looking specifically for a flannel shirt and the title of the item stated it was a Flannel shirt. When I got the item in the mail and realized it was not flannel I immediately tried to contact Poshmark. You only have 3 days to contact Poshmark and then there is no way to contact them. I notified them of my problem nicely. They responded that I needed pictures of the item. I sent back the sellers listing pictures. They again said they needed more pictures which seemed ridiculous. I sent more. After my first attempt reaching out to Poshmark the seller contacted me to see what the problem was. This was done on the purchase page not through any direct email. I explained to her why I was disappointed. I never heard back from her. I got another response from Poshmark stating "Our review found that the item is consistent with the listing, therefore we were forced to deny the return. Moving forward we recommend reaching out to the seller for more photos or ask further clarifying questions if needed. " I responded again asking how the item was consistent with the listing since it WAS NOT flannel. I never got another response. I tried to contact the seller and there is not way to send a direct email to them. I asked via comments if she could give me her email so I could send a private message. She told me to just comment on her page. She then proceeded to be totally rude in her response and ended by saying she doesn't know what I wanted from her since Poshmark denied my problem with the item. I commented back and never heard from her again. I have bought and sold items on Ebay for years and never had this problem. I, as a seller, wouldn't treat anyone this way if I made a mistake. I had hoped for some understanding, an apology, a discount, or a return. But I got nothing but negativity all the way around. Now, that Posmark settled the problem (even though they didn't) I have no way to get ahold of them. There is no place to write a review for the seller either. I DO NOT recommend Poshmark!
Initially I had a good experience with Poshmark, their platform is pretty user friendly if you're a seller. I've had some concerns because of a few things, the amount of people selling "inspired" or being out right scammers is disturbing and makes things difficult if you're selling actual legitimate items. Even when you report this through the poshmark app it seems as if they don't do anything which is incredibly frustrating.
The second issue I have is when you're dealing with a buyer issue, they are pretty much non-responsive to any input the seller has. I can understand wanting to protect buyers but considering that Poshmark takes a 20% cut from their sellers, as sellers we're also consumers too. I've had too many issues as of late and have quit using poshmark to sell my gently used items. I'd rather donate them and get the take write off then having to deal with these people who don't care. And good luck getting an actual person to contact you as there's no info on their website.
I tried to order a shoes. But wen i cick buy it says unable to buy and try again later? Why? And whhy they do not ave a cntact number? So it is very easy for us to call them if we have cncern?
I am doing further research to see if I shall continue using this app. I am seriously sick and tired of basically giving my brand new i=high end items away... on top of the 20% sellers fees, the raise in shipping and being completely made to feel like a liar when 2 sellers misrepresented their items. I was left with green fingers, and the woman emailing me kept telling me to send pictures. I sent them multiple times. Also the seller immediately blocked me when I tried to reach out to her first. So, I am sure that very soon, I shall too be leaving the community.
So far the site is okay. I sold an item last week and was happy. However, I bought a Zara Basics jacket and although it stated it was an XL, and because there wasn't any measurements listed, the jacket was too small. I was highly upset because the jacket is lovely. Unfortunately, I have to sell the jacket myself now. By the way, when I opened the shipping box, the jacket smelled of very old perfume, which is better than cigarette smoke or wet dog, but I would have thought it could have been cleaned before sending it off; I would have waited. Anyway, I will keep with the site and hopefully make some money.
I ordered what I was told were Zara "faux leather" pants. When they arrived they were clearly "waxed denim." I know because I own both similar types of pants from Zara. I wrote and said these were misrepresented. They asked to have pics taken which I did. Take more pics, namely of the tag (that says "cotton) or my request will be denied. I did. Still no word from them. All this for a mere $33.00 refund but they don't seem to care. Never doing business with them again...
I've made ok money on posh- but the site is BS. First of all 20% sellers fee? You make nothing unless you price high! Used clothes shouldn't be sold for $10 for just a top + almost $7 shipping! I sold a pair of earrings I was selling on other sites offered with free shipping because they would have easily fit into just an envelope. Not only that but I have been selling online for close to 10 yrs- in 10 yrs I have always gotten 4-5 stars out of 5. Never a negative comment, always good reviews. I sold earrings to someone and they gave me 1 star out of 5! Why? Bc the earrings were "toddler size" even though the measurements are listed. And it's "not cool to wait to ship till the last day." They give you that many days bc things happen- like a week long snow storm. I lost money on the sale by giving her a deal and the whole thing screws me over- and you can't contact Posh about unfair ratings. Which is also BS bc that is NOT a 1 star sale! It's a 3 at most. Seriously not even 2 stars? But hey screw my perfect average bc someone doesn't know how to read.
Someone made a fraudulent purchase from my account. Beware. How would they know your password unless it is coming from inside Poshmark. Someone bought a 500.00 Apple Watch and changed the address it was sent to. I cancelled my account and will not use them anymore.
The seller has up to 7 days to respond. Nikkiwilliams1, seller, sent it several weeks later and the size was not what she advertises. When I got poshmark involved, they sent a return label when I was on vacation (after I told them my vacation dates) and stated I need to send it back within 48 hours. Huh? They don't listen to your emails. I sent several on both of my email accounts.
I started being a "Posher" about a month ago, in the beginning everything was good, I bought really nice things, and sellers were really kind and professional, but last week, 2/24/17, I was looking to my bank account statement when I realized that Poshmark had make a funds transaction without my consent in the amount of $106.49! Supposedly it was the payment for an item that I did not received until this week! Now the seller is waiting for me to accept the order, so the funds can be released to her account, and I know that does mater if I do not accept the order, poshmark's people is gonna to take my money, TWICE! So I will be paying $213
In the end! I tried to call them, sent an email, but so far no answer!
I am cancelling my account with them and going tomorrow to my bank to cancel my debit card, and all the payments that Poshmark would try to process!
Stay away from them!
This website charges you almost $7 when you purchase something even if it is a 3 oz item. The seller is not getting the difference. THE COMPANY KEEPS IT! I have tried to encourage some of these sellers to avoid fees and sale on groups that are on Facebook. It is very popular now. U still use paypal just like poshmark. They also allow sellers to take forever in shipping. If you need something in a hurry, to damn bad. You cant contact sellers/each other except for on the public comment section. U have to wait 7 damn days to cancel something if it has not been shipped. 7 DAYS! U cant reach anyone and you cant report your issue in a specific manner. They have already ready issues that you select that then has a stupid auto response.
My order hasn't arrived and seller hasn't returned my many requests as to what s going on, Seller won't even answer to poshmark s request s,, Won t deal with them again EVER!
Purchased a pair of jeans, received them about 3 days after purchase. Very happy with them and seller. The day after receiving jeans, i tried to log into my account, and get a message that my account is frozen and i am locked out due to "suspicious" activity of my IP address. Then it says that this usually happens when there is too much activity of in and out of an account. What? It said that if they are wrong, please contact tech support. How do you do that when you are locked out of your account!? I figured out a way, and now supposedly have to wait up to 3 business days for a response! So that means i cannot leave feedback, cannot let them know we are happy with purchase, nothing! I am hoping that the seller understand and receives her money. My next try is to uninstall/install app. Leave feedback and then delete account and app from phone! I am done, its just a scam and there are too many ways for ppl to be ripped off, both buyers and sellers.
They are extremely unresponsive if you encounter issues and if you are able to get a response from them, they will refuse to refund you and will only give you other options that allow them to keep their money. Horrible service. The customer service they employ are negligent, straight ignorant and dull minded. The shipping cost they charge you for every single item you purchase is just icing ok the cake. Would never recommend to anyone.
Buying - They rip you off on shipping, charging you a flat rate of $6.49, no matter if items are less than 13oz & clearly ship First Class for under $2. FULL OF INIACTIVE/UNAVAILABLE ITEMS. They do not moderate their listings so Poshmark is FULL of items from sellers who are inactive, have not been active for months or even years, & do not respond to questions or comments. When you do purchase an item & it turns out to be such a seller, they hold your money for a week before finally refunding it & cancelling the purchase. Then they have the AUDACITY to mark the item as a successful sale publicly & allow the listing to continue to be visible/searchable, falsely inflating their listings & giving the appearance of high rates of successful sales.
Selling - They do not appear to offer a seller the option to charge actual shipping, do not offer high-res photos or enlargeable photos. They charge a whopping 20% of your sale (even ebay & Mercari only take 10%)
And if all that wasn't enough the App bombards your phone with a constant barrage of totally stupid & useless notifications,(stupid one-liners like "lattes are a girls best friend") for which there is no way of turning off.
I have been selling on other sites since 2006. I have dealt with many losers but Poshmark takes the cake. I don't believe they even read your questions and 20% commission is very high for terrible service. I'm glad I saved all my emails.
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
