I sold sunglasses that were in perfect condition. The buyer claimed that they were scratched all over, when Poshmark sent me the photos that they were given you could clearly tell that they had been dropped on concrete by her! I tied explaining to poshmark that if the scratches were from me then they would've been able to see them in my photos. They took the buyers side and now I am stuck with super scratched sunglasses that I cannot sell now and I'm out the money... You're better off selling through other websites!
Tired of run around! I have bought a lot of items on this site. Most were wonderful. A couple threw in garbage.
If I wanted to get my money back from seller canceling. Took forever. If at all. They still owe me and ignore my message. So they steal from you!
Won't buy again
I have been able to find some great deals, but I will be retiring my PM app after today. For the third time in two months, I've waited over a week to receive an item, only to have the seller "cancel" on me. This time, the seller sent me a message saying, "I'll be mailing your item tomorrow". Then literally turned right around and cancelled. I had been waiting on the bathing suit top to take with me on vacation and would have ordered something else, had I had the opportunity! PM offers no way of leaving seller feedback and warning others!
I bought a pair of trail running shoes from PM and within 30 days they were tearing at the seams. Okay it happens, contacted them nobody to answer phone leave message. Emailed them with pictures of the tops of the shoes, first response were are very busy and will get back to you as soon as possible. Second response took a week, were are sorry for the inconvenience we will make an exception and offer you 40.00 credit through our website. Then they continue explaining they should have been returned within 3 business days. I again explained the shoes were fine when they arrived but they are defected, too fall apart so quickly. Waiting for next response...
So far I've found some really great deals on Pm but I have been a professional shopper, an eBay seller and basically I know how to make sure I find the best deals... sadly certain things on Pm are already on my nerves such as;
1. No time limits on seller postings; I have an purchase pending and I have to wait 7 days to see if the person is actually active as they seem to have been inactive for a while, this prevents me from going for other new deals because I can't cancel due to responsiveness for a whole week.
2. $6.49 to ship a $3 or a $499 item? Enough said...
3. Settings unresponsive; I indicated that I do not want NOTIFICATIONS on certain options and yet I still get them it's quite annoying.
Overall I have enjoyed being a new user for the past few weeks but I'm relieved to find that there are other sites that offer more options like free shipping etc. hope they make improvements.
I do feel like I get some amazing deals, but I've never had so many problems ordering online. Ebay and Swap make returns for seller issues so much easier. I've never received so many orders that smelled like smoke, not in the condition stated, or just up and cancelled. They really need to get some sort of system in place that punishes bad sellers. It's getting annoying having 4/10 orders with issues.
I've bought a bunch from Poshmark, and save for two items that were not as pictured everything was in excellent condition. I am opening a dispute on one of the imperfect items and decided to keep the other anyways.
By the way, if you sign up in the app with code UNXAZ you will get $5 off your first purchase (and it helps me a little too).
I ordered one item from Poshmark and was away when it arrived. When I got home and opened it, it had a very strong cigarette smoke odor. It was unwearable. I contacted the seller and she was amenable to accepting the item back. She suggested I go through Poshmark to make the return. After 2 weeks of back and forth with Poshmark they will not allow the return because I didn't follow there protocol becasue I wasn't home for the delivery. IF YOU TRAVEL DO NOT ORDER FROM POSHMARK. YOU WILL BE STUCK WITH WHATEVER YOU BUY. I'm out over $200!
Everything was good until someone hacked into my account and started purchasing expensive items. My bank did cover the charges thankfully but poshmark customer service sucked. They basically told me I was lying and all the purchases were made on my device and shipped to me. I found out about the charges early so I was able to lock my account but they changed my shipping address to New Jersey and I live in Mississippi. They said they showed no such activity on my account so they were going to do anything about it. I've deleted my account and advise everyone not to put a credit card on their app.
SCAMMERS! FRAUD! WORST APP EVER!
Bought a one piece monokini swimwear size small. Received it and it was way too big. Not true to their size chart. Seller not cooperating, never suggested any solution simply ignored my messages. I opened a claim with Poshmark support. Even worse, communication was terrible, I even provided pictures showing my body sizes... what more do they want to return a f***'en item. They denied my return and said they where closing the case.
SCAMMERS! WORST APP EVER!
I saw a denim black Levis skirt in a video and had to have it! So I googled the item which led me to Poshmark! I purchased the item and although used was in great condition at a fair price. The item was shipped in a timely fashion and I'm very happy with it. So I created a profile on poshmark and I'm addicted! You can find vintage stuff that would be hard to find anywhere else. Now I see a lot of complaints on this page because people love to whine and complain without seeking solutions or being smart buyers. Before I purchase anything I make sure to ask buyer to be honest and post pictures of flaws and I do the same. But not all people are nice and honest and that is not the companies fault. Are you taking a risk when buying online? Sure you are so be smart! Be careful with high priced brands such ad Louis Vuitton and Michael Kors.Do your research about how to know if an item is authentic. For instance with Louis Vuitton bags there is a tag inside with a code. When I sold my Louis Vuitton I made sure to show code tag and numerous pictures of the inside and outside of the bag. I also included the flaws. I got an offer sold the item. When I sell I send a thank you note with it wrapped. Its a good chance my customer will buy from me again because I have practiced proper etiquette. And it gives me good ratings in my stats. I make sure to display my product listing in good lighting with an attractive background. Also I displayed a tote bag with items alongside so the person can see how much fits in a bag. Its fun to network and make friends and to sell. I am planning on going to school for merchandising and fashion design and I believe this is a great tool to help me keep up with fashion trends. Though it is fun to find vintage stuff as well. I have created a closet with about 50 items to start including clothes jewelry and handbags. But someone posted on here about being upset when they purchased a 600$ watch which turned out to be fake. Honestly I would NEVER buy an expensive name brand item online like that. I would go directly to retailer. I purchase low price fun vintage items. Someone complained about poshmark wanting too much personal information. Well I think that is needed to protect them and the consumer! If you don't want to give them personal information then don't go on the website duh! If you research authenticity and Poshmark rules and regs you can have a lot of fun! And if someone is messaging you catty texts then just block them! I haven't had any issues yet but life us life. Nothing is perfect. If you got burned by shopping online its probably your fault because you were too trusting or didn't get enough information about the product. I mean once you purchase it it might be difficult to return it. Its just a risk you take. I love poshmark and will continue to list and buy!
I purchased a $600 Movado watch. I thought I would be safe since there was a concierge service. That was a joke. The watch was not only fake but it was damaged as well. When I tried to get my money back they have been unresponsive. There is no phone number. The only way to contact them is through e-mail. Tell all your girlfriends and sisters, Poshmark is a joke and Fraud.
Omg! Horrible Customer Service. I've tried for over a week to messaged them about something URGENT and they never responded. I sent them multiple emails and found their phone number on Google, but of course when you call it's a recording saying "they don't offer customer service support via phone and to email them." It should have said they don't offer customer service at all! I also contacted them on Facebook since i notice they were active and they deleted my comments. I messaged them on instagram as well and nothing. They don't care at all to help you. I have also recruited many friends and helped their business grow and they can't even provide me with help?! I got f***** over by them very badly. I'm so upset and angry.
So I sold a pair of pants the buyer then made a claim that she thought it was 100 percent leather Poshmark sided with her but then she kept the pants for over a month I kept on emailing them about it but got no where then she finally sent them back which you could tell she used them it had a small tear in the back of the leg and they also smelled like bad feminine odor on top of that so I reported it but again got nothing to I shut down my account never again will I ever do business with them again
Update my recent review - upped from 1 star to 3 stars with possibility to rise higher in future!
I wrote a scathing review calling their financial transaction process sketchy last week because one of my first purchases was flagged. They erroneously told me it was a credit flag and they wanted to verify my account and identity which made no sense given my choice to pay with Paypal. My item was cancelled. After I followed up with them several times to express my extreme irritation and unwillingness to give unnecessary personal or financial info, I received great follow up from them.
My purchase was flagged for a different reason - it is illegal to ship the animal skin item I ordered to CA but not other states. I didn't know that and their system does not yet tell you that's the reason. It's in everyone's best interest not to illegally ship items where larger fines can be imposed so, in a way, I'm glad something in their system flagged that.
I purshased a $200.00 handbag from poshmark and it had a hole in the liner that was not in the description. It also is smaller than the description. I contacted them NUMBERUS times. They we mailed me back saying they would contact in 48 hours and never did. After a 6 weeks still have this purse and no contact. I called left a message too and no return call. Now I am stuck with a 200.00 handbag with a hole and the purse is too small! I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM POSHMARK!
I purchased a BCBG black leather tote for my mother. The item is used but according to the description, like new and hardly used. What I got was a tote that is devoid of structure which was never alluded to in the article. The white interior of the purse had black stains resembling the marks left by an exploding pen. I contacted customer service, requesting a refund and provided photos of the exterior and interior. I received a decision advising me a refund would not be granted but granting me a $5.00 credit towards future purchases. The item was not properly described which makes its sale, misrepresentation. Evidently, Poshmark's not so elite braintrust doesnt understand what constitutes a positive customer service experience & they're just sufficiently deluded to think that after purchasing an item that was misrepresented and refusing its return, would prompt any person to do business with them again, DON'T BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS unless you want to risk losing money.
Bought a pair of "authentic Alexis Bittar" earrings. Completely fake. They sided with the seller and won't give me a refund.
There is no customer service phone number and the generic emails are terrible.
I have escalated to paypal and if that does not work, will escalate to BBB. Then to my credit card company!
Stay AWAY!
Ebay and Etsy are much better sites for consumers.
Some of the bags are being sold for more than list price on LV website. Not sure why. Why would l buy a used Speedy for more than a new one? The bags have been touched by others so better to get a new one from LV if you are going to pay the same for a new one or even more! Please people, do your research.
FAKES BEWARE: I was just taken for $276 for a fake Miu Miu handbag and was told the item was in good condition. Got the bag its in terrible condition. Its not even real leather! Hardware cheap, flimsy, dull and there's a gold coating on the hardware! Opened claim with Poshmark, sent pics. Also a long descriptive detailed essay noting 8 issues with this bag relating to why it could not be authenticated. 4 days later got email from Poshmark "sorry unable to return" which mean no refund! Almost $300 gone! I paid w/Paypal and I have an escalated case open with them I hope they don't fail me... wwhhaaaa. :( You'd think I'd learn because I ALSO had bought Uggs on here that too were fakes but PM gave me back my money. So there! Buyer BEWARE!
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
