POF blew away a paid account based on some algorithm that scans for possible scam activity. There's no such thing!
If it was true, all the Nigerian men pretending to be Americans and tryinig to scam me would also have their accounts blown away, but they seem to make it around the system.
Of course, they're allowiing me to sign up again, but I've lost all of my contacts and emails and they're not helpful in any way.
And, there's no such things as customer service. Their customer service website runs you in circles with no actual contact.
The fact that it took me over an hour just to Google and find a way to contact them directly with my issue is absurd.

Even more absurd, if I directly reply to their email, the communication will be automatically deleted.

I actually met someone there. Thankfully, we exchanged phone numbers the day before my account was blown away!

They don't care about their services or the people they're serving. I will NEVER do business with them again. They ONLY care about the money!

If I could rate them a zero star, I would.

Ive been on Pof for over 7 years and I can say It Is Impossibile to meet real women on there 99% of there profiles you click on they say your not there match what the hell does that mean? And If you do find one they never message you back whats up with that they looking for prince charming to come on a white horse and sweep them up off there feet and customer service Is the worst I have ever ever seen on any site before so bottom line avoid this website whatever you do take my word and first hand experience. When you finally get thru all the fake profiles and there are loads and loads, you will find all the females moaning they dont want one night stands + are sick of getting rude pics they just want to find a decent bloke, so you message them asking how they are and they either block you, ignore you or tell you your message isnt long enough

As the review below points out we aint talking hot models here but seems to me thats what they are wanting from any men that contact them

They will be on here for years pouting with their attitude they have of only replying to stunning hot guys so leave them to it, They should be grateful anyone messages them nevetmind get picky who they reply to.

I don't think I've seen so many average looking woman on one website. Average is doing them a favour tbh as most arent even that good yet they seem to think they're a catch and havea list of what you boxes you must tick if you want them to reply LOL.

They all babble on how great they are but if they're that great why are they single and why are they mostly in their 30s with longest relationship of only a year?
Majority are ignorant picky rude and are suffering from delusions of grandeur

Pof was a very good site until recently they are now overrun with profiles
Promoting porn web sites with very raunchy pictures of old ladies and old men. Before just usual fake scammers from Ghana Albania etc. Pictures of 25-30 yr olds claiming to be 55-65 yr olds. It seems they want there users to report these profiles. Most of porn site profiles are disgusting looking old women, in very compromising positions. Not a turn on at all! Since Match.COM bought it has had a steady decline. Actually had my profile deleted "by accident" for reporting scammers.

Too much BS on the site now. If your 50 you get profiles of 30 yr olds online like that's gonna happen.

Well my feelings may have come across rather bluntly in my title so I apologize for my brevity but I will at least state my case to the extent such a thing is possible.

First off I am not a "paying member"; so, as is so often the case in these bait and switch... Excuse me "dating sites" I suspect $#*!ery like it's second nature. God forbid people pursue physical/emotional happiness via the once "free" internet without pulling the ol' plastic out of the wallet. So I will focus on two things here in the next couple paragraphs that I feel are only worth my energy to save fellow humans (particularly men) from falling into this polluted fishing hole.

First off, obviously, the aforementioned ocean between the perfectly reasonable and detailed profile you can make "for free" (cause no one pays internet bills right) and the "upgraded status." Now I fell into this on adultfriendfinder.com because their restrictions are far more extreme; if you don't pay a dime, you ain't doing jack, and if you DO, be prepared to pay more to get a realistic chance at any kind of meaningful human interaction on the regular. POF let's you make a profile that should serve its purpose and end there but of course greed rears its ever present ugly head, and paying them for various memberships supposedly gets you more visible and your messages go to the top.

Nevermind that a message sent should be immediately visible regardless. They could come up with a dozen other perks for the desperate suckers with loose wallets. Similarly to my experience in AFF, I used a control group of hideous women, messaged them nice and inoffensive things and... Nada. No I'm not a male model but I'm far from a gremlin. Because occasionally women (some admittedly decent but far from local? And wtf there?) sent me messages seemingly without issue. Basically, pay to get thru. I call bs. Craigslist never made you pay to message for a job, housing, etc. things that are true life necessities so you don't, ya know, starve and die homeless. These dating sites have to cut the $#*!.

That got more long-winded than I wanted so regarding the actual "women" you may actually communicate with to varying degrees on POF... well. I'll save my breath and refer you to a review below posted by one "Waller K." The man has a way with words regarding that topic and there are certainly many entitled females on the site who deserve every cutting syllable and then some. Online datings quite the $#*! show. I guess if I never relocate I have to be content with the local drug addicted barfly trash I have been through and trying to get away from. Alas, happy fishing should you choose to do so anyway.

Everyone knows much easier for women to get a man than the other way round so these women are only on here to play games or because nobody wants them

The women on POF are nothing special/unattractive but they are all so sick in the head so they think that Mr special will search them out on there. They lack social skills, are rude and aggressive or just plain illiterate. This website contains women that have been rejected by men in the real world or ones that look in the mirror and see a model looking back when its not the case

Someone needs to tell them you dont get a 10/10 guy if you are only a 2/10 yourself. You dont get to be picky when you look totally unattractive and have no personality either. ITS NOT GONNA HAPPEN "LADIES"

Also have to mention all the daft lists they have. Must be over 6 foot 4 tall, must have a beard, must love dogs, no liars or cheats ( as if anyone would admit they are that!)
Then they have the dislikes list, things like bad breath, body odour, hangovers, all the things normal [people dislike and wouldn't need to mention

This is the scraping of the barrel and there has to be better ways to find nice women inside and out

All of a sudden the app would not let me sign in. Keeps saying username or password is incorrect. I am using the correct info. I even went in and changed the password through email but when I try to sign in with new password it tells me the same message. Called customer service (in India) and they were useless Tried to give me some BS about my network being compromised. I ran the IT dept of a healthcare company so I know what I'm talking about. Told them and their response was tgat if I know computers and IT I shoukd be able to fix the problem myself. The problem is within the POF servers. Multiple peop e have made the same complaint over the course of the last several months.

POF is no different than the rest of the dating sites. Liars, liars and more liars. I strongly recommend any woman who is vulnerable or just plain stupid to stay away. You are easy targets and may not realize you are being played until it's too late.
A very HOT man can be just as deceptive as an old fart. Yes, young, old, ugly, handsome makes no difference.
Too many men are stating they are widows. Ok, you seem too young. Did you kill your wife? Were you truly ever married? Maybe you're married but cheat like a bangy.
Then when you do some investigating and you call them out they get angry and defensive like you are the one doing something wrong. A woman can not be too careful these days.
If your gut tells you things aren't adding up, they're not.
I give up on dating sites and I'm going to find my soulmate the old fashion way.

Hey :) am an average gal, few extra pounds etc. Intelligent, sense of humor, 2 kids, single by choice until I meet the right guy. Have met quite a few guys through POF, just not the right one yet... IMO ALL dating sites have an issue with fake accounts - OKCupid, Be2 (the worst!), Tinder, etc.

Have read a lot of comments by disgruntled men here... jeez, try being a woman online dating - have had to learn to report/igore/block many because of totally inappropriate (or just disgusting) requests, but seriously, POF is no worse than any others (no I don't pay either). Some people just leave their accounts up and don't check in, not fake, just inactive & I suspect they leave them there to keep their numbers looking better. Learn to recognise the fake ones - poor English, pushing too fast but never available to meet, time zone differences (late nights/early mornings), request for email address or messaging account instead of mobile phone number to communicate. Ladies and gentlemen, if they do insist on emailing you, research how to get the IP address from the email header, then find the IP address online... it can at least tell you which country they are sending the email from, it is in the packet information in the header of the email (yeah, have a degree in IT... said I was smart!). That skill has saved me wasting my time with scammers already. Have reported them too (with some success).

Just be smart about on-line dating. Keep your expectations realistic and don't try dating on-line if you are desperately lonely... it is not the role of some other person to fill that hole in your life... that's your job!

I joined POF, and started using the site. Was supprised at how I almost immediately started receiving people want to meet me emails and massages. Most of the messages I received said the same thing Hey there, how are you :) First sign of scam.
I responded with 2 women, even received email notifications that they had responede to my message, but low and behold, their meaasges were not there, all others that I received or sent but did not get a response to were visible but not the ones I was communicating with. I couldnt even see the messages I sent to them, seems as soon as I responded to a message the system would block me access to those messages only, I suspect to get me to pay more or upgrade.
Typical for these sites, Fake people sending fake messages only to get you to pay more. I wish I knew where the servers were located so I could rip them out.
I made them cancel my accound and refund me, this all happened in 12hours.
Such a scam, in my opinion.
