PlayerAuctions runs a marketplace for buying and selling characters, virtual goods and virtual currency from massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs).
PlayerAuctions has a rating of 4.4 stars from 3,091 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with PlayerAuctions most frequently mention good deal, fast delivery and top notch. PlayerAuctions ranks 1st among Virtual Goods sites.
I'm giving them a single star because as a consumer, I have been unable to purchase anything, even after buying things in the past, as all of my payments are getting declined. I've tried two different cards and Skrill, every single payment gets declined. They said it's their 'risk' technology that declines payments if there are 'account inconsistencies,' but they're declining a payment where I'm directly inputting my credit card.
Then, their solution is to use GoCoin, which is impossible to use unless you own a business (part of the sign-up verification is confirming articles of incorporation or equivalent).
On top of all of this, it has been days of trying to find a solution to this and customer service has been unresponsive.
I used to be able to buy quickly, and had no issues... suddenly, they want a screenshot of your credit card account website, and are certainly not in any hurry about it... "This process is usually very quick" has wasted over an hour of my time.
I'm sorry, seller- you just lost a $63 sale... and PlayerAuctions has lost a long time customer. 51 orders over the years, 100% feedback rating-- obviously means NOTHING to them.
Hello Matt,
Sorry for the inconvenience you had with your payment. I want to assure you that any information you share is kept confidentially and professionally. It will never be shared outside of PlayerAuctions, and is only used for verification purposes. We need to have a copy of your payment information to make sure only you are able to access and use your account; in the event of any account breach, we have information to bank on so we can verify the user, and this is especially the case with changes in location, IP address, etc.
If you decide to continue with your purchase, please let me know how I can assist to make the process seamless. You may use the Q&A form here in SiteJabber to do that and ask questions about anything.
Best regards,
Richard
Seems promising, talked with the seller and he seems cool. I just hope that it doesn't get taken back by the previous owner.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, James! We hope you enjoy your purchase, and if ever you need help with this, just use the Q&A form here in SiteJabber to ask a question so we can get back to you. :)
The account got recovered by its owner. When I emailed the website about this situation, they told me I have to prove that the account was recovered by its original owner. I then filed a report under this account to Riot. I asked Riot if the account can only be recovered by it original owner. Riot confirmed that in the email. I then emailed screenshots to playersaunction, however they repeat sending me the same response, which is asking to provide the proof, which I did. After a certain days the site closed my case and just ignored my request. Avoiding buying anything from this web. Please ignore my grammar
Hello Maxwell,
I am sorry to hear about what happened with your purchase. However, as per checking, the insurance coverage for the order already ended last November 2017. While we may still assist you with this, we can no longer provide a refund for this nor can we ask your seller an account replacement for this.
If you have any further questions, please use the Q&A form here at SiteJabber, and I would be happy to address them for you.
Best,
Richard
Purchased a Warframe account from Plat4buy 6 months ago in hopes of enjoying the game with a friend of mine. After doing an account login a week ago i received a message from Warframe that the account had been suspended until 2035. I reached out to the seller to inform him that i wanted to use the account insurance to at a minimum recover the funds i had lost purchasing the account. I sent him proof from the account management page that the account had previously been suspended before he had sold it to me. Warframe also noted that the account email was permanently locked. I sent supporting documentation to prove that the account was permanently shut down. The seller acted like a 12 year old and keep telling me to prove it and to stop scamming him. This seller even lied to Warframe and pleaded that the account had never been sold(He sold it to me!) I escalated the dispute to PlayerAuctions and they said the information would be reviewed and they would make a decision in 72 hours. PlayerAuctions sent me a response and said the Seller won the dispute but yet they provided no findings to back up why he won the dispute. Purchasing anything from this site is an extreme risk and they support the crooked sellers on here.
Majority of the accounts you see on this website are from 2 groups of people. From my personal experience the accounts I saw were from either: (1) account farmers who botted their accounts to max level (99str-attk-def-hp) w no other stats or (2) sellers who had regular accounts for sale (ex. Max Main full quested for $140) for some you might say this is 100% a scam, but for many reading the description of the account seeing that the sellers are quitting the game for personal reasons, or whatever it may be for, the account seems like a steal. Where these sellers get you is they paint a picture making it seem like they have great feedback/reviews from buyers which make buyers more comfortable buying accounts from them.
You may be asking, well how do they scam you? Many sellers post threads about their accounts without mentioning security questions or the info to the original email address attached to the account. The MOST important part of buying an OSRS account is getting access to the ORIGINAL email attached to the account. With that 1 single piece of info a seller can easily recover the account. There is an option on the Runescape Website to recover stolen accounts, which ask users to answer questions such as: date created account, last password, where the account was created, SECURITY questions (favorite teacher, school you went to, maiden name of your mother).
I'm not saying every seller is a scammer, but many of them are. If you are buying an osrs account make sure you read this post. This website has to figure out a solution to this problem, it's so obvious what's going on.
Hello, Thomas,
Thank you for explaining your issue in great detail. Account transactions always entail some form of risk, and this is why we offer insurance as additional protection. Even with that purchased, however, we still require users on our site to prove their claim by showing sufficient evidence, and this is stated in our disclaimer: https://i.imgur.com/xuvAhYo.png
We also provide buyers 72 hours to fully inspect and secure accounts. This is the time you should ask the seller for the recovery information. If none of it is ever provided, you may dispute the order and ask for a refund. After the 72 hours time frame closes or if you confirm the order before that lapses, the system accepts the transaction as complete and the seller is already considered paid.
In any case, we respect your opinions, Thomas. To anyone reading, if you need help with account issues, please email us urgently at support@playerauctions.zendesk.com.
Best regards,
Richard
I have never in my life been so scared of using a website. The fact that they asked for this stuff is complete and utter nonsense - I hope the see the fault of their ways soon. Be careful out there everyone.
Hello, Kayla,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about our verification process. I can confirm that this is indeed the mail we send out to buyers — I'd like to assure you several things about this: (1) the information we ask is kept confidentially and professionally, and it will NEVER be shared outside of PlayerAuctions; (2) we do this as a security process for us to validate that the payment method being used is actually owned by the user, eliminating any possibility that the account is being used without the consent of the owner (hence, the selfie holding the ID pic for us to easily go through that; (3) your information is cleared/erased from our storage after some time, as it is only used for verifying your identity with us.
I understand you're worried. I can see that you already canceled your order. Rest assured that you will be fully refunded for this. If you decide to go through with ordering again, please email us at support@playerauctions.zendesk.com or use the Q&A form here so I can assist you with anything, Kayla.
Have a great weekend soon!
Best regards,
Richard
1.This E Commerce website is all about players buying products from other players.
2.Anyone can sell a product or multiple products across multiple games once verified.
3.There are multiple games to buy and sell from.
3.Your first time buy will require a verification process; yes this is annoying, but ensures that nobody is posing as someone else. It also protects the buyer as well.
4.The buyer's money spent is also protected after making a purchase until the seller has delivered the product and both buyer and seller verify a full delivery of the product.
Buyer's money is protected via escrow, so seller won't get until product is
delivered and confirmed delivery.
5. MINUS 1 star because they got rid of the most secure payment method ever, which is PayPal!
Thanks for the very detailed review for us, Kaleb! Rest assured that even with the removal of a payment method, PlayerAuctions is continuously finding ways to add and introduce other payment methods. Have a good day! :)
Good site good pricesI like the fast delivery and good quality I bought a gta account before and the refund was good and fast aswell.
Thanks for the positive feedback, Peter! I'm happy to hear your refund case with your GTA account worked out fine. :)
Excellent site, easy to explore and amazing content! I easily found what I wanted at a really good price!
Good support too!
I'll definitely be using again!
Many thanks for the kind and positive feedback, Sam! We hope you continue to enjoy your transactions on the site. :)
One of the best sites i been at player auctions for a very long time they have never one scamed me i trust them as a middle man
Thank you so much for the kind and positive review, Aaron! :)
If I could give playerauctions 0 stars, I would. I am generally calm and can't be bothered to go after lost money, but even after buying insurance in the case that an account I bought was recovered, I was not reimbursed. Their reasoning was that there was not sufficient enough evidence during their "investigation" even though I had provided screenshots that the account had been recovered but they then refused to provide me with any findings otherwise. If a seller deletes his account after and is not able to be contacted, is that not questionable? If a seller can't even be contacted for a dispute and provide answers, what kind of investigation was performed exactly? I asked for answers and was told that per there policy, they couldn't do anything.
It's my fault for not reading the policy but everyone else should be warned that if something goes wrong, their insurance will be of no help to you. It's risky buying accounts from random sellers in the first place, but it's just a risk you'll have to accept as buying the insurance is just an additional cost (waste of money) that you won't get back.
Hello, Lan,
Thank you for posting your concern in detail. I'm sorry for how your case turned out, and as explained by our support team, we require substantial/compelling evidence for cases like these.
If you have any further concerns, please contact us anytime at support@playerauctions.zendesk.com.
Best regards,
Richard
I attempted to make a purchase with my Visa and the website said that my payment was declined but I checked my bank account and they withdrew the funds. Not to mention the account I was trying to purchase is now not listed anymore. Their website says that these funds will be automatically refunded but I'm having my doubts... I may adjust my rating if this gets resolved.
DO NOT use this site EVER.
1) you have to spend HOURS trying to prove who you are when you buy from them.
2) Even after the hours you spend, they will tell you its not enough information and put your order in infinite limbo.
3) You will NEVER be able to get your money back for the order.
I have been ordering for the past few days and over all I can say I have found sellers on the site that can do far more than other sites can with Shadowbringers only a few days old. I found people able to powerlevel me through MSQ even during early access. That can't be said of MMOGAH. They can't even DO shadowbringers MSQ at the time of this post and I bought gil from them a few months ago and paid them 300 dollars for 94.5 million gil.
I looked at 100 mil goes for on mmogah and 269.99 whereas on player accutions it's like 138.70
Thank you so much for the kind words and positive vouch, Paul! Sellers on the PlayerAuctions site are highly competitive when it comes to prices and quality of service, so you will have no trouble finding items/gil/services for the Shadowbringers expansion, even if it was just released recently. We hope you enjoy and get a lot of mileage out of your new stock of FFXIV gil, Paul!
At first, I thought this site was totally legit and I was excited to re-enter the OS Runescape journey with a bit of a head-start. As you are scrolling through the supply of accounts, there is a lot of variation in kinds of sellers and accounts which makes you think some are legit and some are obvious scammers. I bought 1 account at first without instant account information, had to wait too long for the login and I disputed the sale, no problem there. The 2nd account was a more experienced main, with loads of event items and the seller was a friendly guy. Played the account for +- 2 months, when I received the "we suspect your account was stolen" message on the login screen. I looked in my mailbox and there were many requests to recover the password, something was wrong. I went back on PA and tried to contact the seller, who disbanded his PA account. "LUCKILY" I purchased the 7.99 insurance plan to reclaim the amount you paid if you get scammed, right?!. This is where the real pain began. As all of the prior events happened, I was keen on making screenshots of everything to prove the account had been reclaimed and therefore sufficient reason for a refund according to their own guidelines. I've read the FAQ multiple times to make sure I provide sufficient evidence to win the dispute, after all, it is quite impossible to lose a dispute against a disbanded PA account, RIGHT?! Boy was I wrong... Normally a dispute is settled within 24 hours and the appeal is granted if no counter evidence is given so I was quite confident I'd get my 140 back. After 24 hours, the disputed was settled, yay!. In favour of the seller. Not a single reason was given for ruling in favour of the seller, and there is no way of appealing such a decision, made by the system. Don't pay for the insurance plan, you are paying for clicking ONE button, not getting a refund either way, getting no explanation, feedback or further steps to provide the right evidence. This is exactly what I told Catherine of PA's support, which kept directing me to the site to settle the dispute with the seller, after I told her at least 5 times his account was disbanded and unreachable. I sent all possible screenshots I was capable of taking and giving an explanation. I have sent at least 6 or 7 emails to try and get my refund, I even asked to get in touch with someone else because she obviously didn't grasp what was going on or she didn't want to understand it. I started mailing the support desk in June and the issue is still not resolved, the support kept telling me to follow the proper procedure which is settling the dispute with the seller, which is NOT on PlayerAuctions anymore! I wish there was someone else who could help me, this is such bullocks.
Hello Julian,
I'm very sorry the case turned out this way. I was able to check on your case and found out that unfortunately, the evidence we received from you is insufficient. We have tried to contact your seller many times but he was unresponsive. In the end, even without compelling evidence, we decided to suspend him on the site — at the very least to prevent him from earning more with his practices.
If you need further help or if you have other questions, please contact support@playerauctions.zendesk.com.
Best,
Richard
The first time I sold an Account, everything went fine. I got the money. Recently, they deleted PayPal as an option so my money for the 2nd account I sold got frozen until I changed my disbusement method, fair enough. Trying to change my method I noticed they dont send me an SMS and then I realized there ware 3 additional Numberns in my Phone Number. 889 randomly added. I activated my account to this number and suddenly there are 3 additional Numbers? Yeah sure, now they want my Personal ID LOL.
I am not giving a company my ID which changed my Phone Number randomly and is holding my money. This just smells like a big scam.
DO NOT USE THIS SITE.
It seems they do whatever method they want to scam you and/or get your personal data.
Hello Sebastian,
I'd like to put your mind at ease by letting you know that the servers where customer information are stored in is secured and encrypted. We NEVER share information outside of PlayerAuctions, and all information are treated confidentially and professionally.
The reason our team would like to ask for documentation like that is to occasionally verify the identity of our users and make sure the payment is getting to the intended person. Digital account theft regularly happens, and this is part of our efforts to make sure we combat fraud by maintaining transparent and relevant customer information on our end.
And to begin with, we actually need your personal data on the site. It's a requirement for payments to go through successfully because we adhere to risk management standards of getting to know our customers. This has been the intended design of our verification process since day 1. In any case, your money will be intact with us and will never be deducted or voided. Once you decide to continue the verification, it will be released back to your disbursement queue.
Please contact support@playerauctions.zendesk.com if you need further help with anything, Sebastian.
Best regards,
Richard
Very fast and courteous service! Was sketchy at first, but haven't had any bad experience come from this site at all!
Hello Michael. Thank you so much for putting your trust in us — we greatly appreciate your feedback! Hope you enjoyed your purchase/s. :)
Never had a problem selling at this site i dont know about other people talking trash here but they look fake to me
Hello Ervin, thank you so much for the positive feedback! Good luck with your future sales on the site! :)
One of the best trade platforms for gamers online!
Smooth, fast, trusted, easy interface and functions!
Thank you so much for the kind words, Judy! We're glad to have you with us as a long time user, and we hope you continue to enjoy our services and offerings. :)
Answer: You don't want to buy from them.
Answer: Just don't use their service. Trust me, you will save a lot of your nerves and time if you don't.
Answer: How to get started. Click the URL bar and type anything other than your terrible website. Unless you want to be scammed to lose time and money, in which case go ahead and continue using playerauctions.com.
Answer: You got scammed! So did I. PlayerAuctions is nothing but a SCAM!
Answer: Maybe this will help: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playerauctions Regardless they have terrible Customer Service. Their english is not proficient to be doing business in the US and their work ethic is just terrible. It's a shame that they show the stereotypical greed of chinese who just does it for money and doesn't care what gets in the way and cuts too many corners to be acceptable to be called "The world’s safest player to player trading marketplace for WOW Gold, Runescape Gold, Guild Wars 2 Gold, ArcheAge Gold, CS: GO items and much more."
Answer: Don't do business with this company, they stole my money after my account was recovered merely a month later -- I'll be reporting them to the BBB after tonight.
Answer: Hello Mikael. Could you please try accessing the site again on a different browser? It might have just been a temporary website server issue, and this might be sorted out already. If you continue to have problems with this, please take a screenshot of where there seems to be an issue, then send it along with your username to support@playerauctions.com.
Answer: Absolutely. As a buyer, your payment is secure with us and will not be released to the seller until you click confirm on our website, once you have decided that the item/gold/account that you bought is good and complete. If you find any problems with the sale, you may dispute it and if the sale you received is not as described, you will be issued a refund. As a seller, your payment will be released once buyer is satisfied with the sale, and this guarantees that you will receive payment as opposed to transacting blindly on the internet with someone you don't know. In the case of disputes, if you've proven that you were able to deliver the sale successfully and as described, you will get the payment. Please note that we enact the User Assumption of Risk as stated in the front page of our website, in that we cannot guarantee that all trades will be free from risks. However, by carefully securing your order and being wary of scamming attempts, together with our team's efforts to secure an order, this can be thoroughly mitigated. I can elaborate more if you'd like, just post another question, Sabrina.
Answer: They will make sure you don't get refunded. Be sure of that. There sites a massive scammed just Google them...
Answer: Hello Elaby. Fabricating fake feedback is not "unintentional". The same goes with creating multiple accounts and faking the registration country/location. Disbursements are held for the security of the buyers if the seller is found to have committed several offenses.
Hello Josh,
I'm sorry for the hassle you had, but this is indeed a security process that aims to protect users from making potentially fraud payments on our site. As a company that accepts and processes payments, we have a moral obligation to decline payments and put security first instead of earnings if it means keeping the place secured in terms of authorized payments.
If you need help with anything, please use the Q&A form here in SiteJabber so I can assist you, Josh.
Best regards,
Richard
