I joined Planet fitness in January. I told the rep that I have a terminal illness and that I wanted to go from month to month and so she sold me the black list package. I have only been to to gym 4-5 times since I've joined due to my illness. I have been still paying monthly so when I went to stop services with them I was told that I have to pay a fee to discontinue service! Really! OR I have to get a letter from my dr saying that I can't use the machines! Really! Is PLANET FITNESS THAT HARD UP FOR MONEY? Thieves and liars! If you lie to me then you'll steal from me! And clearly both things has occurred to me. Do not subscribe with nor join Planet fitness! Their commercials are false to what they really are! I'm very disappointed with this company and will also be reporting them to BBB and Yelp and any other reviews that are available!
I cancelled my membership at some other gym, only because PlanetFitness was open 24h every day, i knew i dont have to worry the gym will be closed at 7pm- and here we are - they changed planetFitness hours and it's closed at 7pm on weekends! Really? Why? If you cut hours on half- i should pay half for membership!
When they expecting to get a good workout but all I got was gang stalked by a bunch of gay people and I reported them they kicked me out like I was the problem they even took away my membership and bend me from every Planet Fitness in the whole country
You get what you pay for, PF is the cheapest gym in town and the customer service is terrible, staff provides incorrect information to make you sign up and later refer you to the agreement Terms (fine print). Managers are rude, Mike, from PF Middletown NY. Hung up the phone while talking to him. They ask for your checking account AND credit card account, they charge you after you cancel your membership and they charge you both accounts.
I cancelled my membership on January 14th, but was charged on the 17th AND the 24th.
Don't go there.
I thought it was supposed to be a judggment free zone. Im from Nebraska, and I love the equipment and locations. But, the staff feels like if they were piked up from the street with no maners or respect for customers, these people need to learn proper manners and etiquette when talking or dealing with customers. I've heard many of the staff members judging clients, and the trainers behave themselves if they are entitled to do whatever they want. One of them has a huge belly and acts as if he was a Greek God, demeaning customers at the same time staring at females in a leud manner. I changed location, hoping it was an isolated matter, but had similar experience at this new location, so I ended up cancelling my membrship. My advice for this company is to hire properly trained staff, and give them lessons on customer relations.
I've been a member of pf for awhile now and normally it's a great experience but yesterday I was treated very badly by a staff member of the club it was the Bridgeport WV location she screamed at me and was very unprofessional I understand if you are having a bad day but this is a good way to lose customers. Do better Planet Fitness
Marcus in Ypsilanti was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, Planet Fitness. Facilities are clean people are friendly just a great atmosphere, overall started with Marcus at the front desk.
I wish I had gotten the name of the little snot that refused to cancel my membership when it's for severe health issues. If I had known they would make me come in during a plague, when I'm incredibly high risk, and then refuse, I would have contacted the BBB first. I have NEVER had such a horrible experience as with Planet Fitness. Have you dealt with insurance company? They're a treat compared to PF. You have to deal with only the local franchise and I've met ONE person in TWO YEARS that wasn't rude and/or inept. Think twice before you have anything to do with this horror show of a company - ANY other gym, even in a prison, would have to be an improvement. I really, really hope people check the reviews and take them seriously or they will absolutely regret it.

You have to register your guest even with a black card membership. Which they deserve a courtesy. Total embarrassing for the guest makes the guests feel out of place. Never again.
Five of the TV's are either on the Planet Fitness generic station or are blacked out. Why can't each station have a station and no repeats? And minimally there should be one on ABC, NBC and CBS. This is at the Wethersfield, CT Planet Fitness. Other than that, I love the club.

This young lady has a very nasty disposition for a customer service representative, after rolling her eyes and talking to her breath, after I kindly replied to a few questions, I got fed up and asked what her name was she covered up her name tag would not give me her name I asked her if she liked her job there she said no I really don't care for it, then why work there? Planet fitness employees should make the experience for customers the best they very can we don't need rude people clapping out because they don't like the hours they work the early mornings or the late nights whatever it is you signed up for it, she don't like her job she's rude to customers I see it all the time she needs to go somewhere else try Amazon when you ain't got to deal with people honey. FIRE HER $#*! YESTERDAY.
It is so infuriating to see members do a few reps with weights that are clearly too heavy and spend the next 5+ minutes on their phone, while people wait to use the equipment. Why are you even in the gym if you spend so much time on your phone? Workout or get out and let others (that are serious about their workout) use the equipment. NO ONE ENFORCES ANY OF THIS!

Honestly the customer service has been extremely bad. It seems no one wants to work and/or hides away because they're so often not at the front most times I come in and want to use the facilities that I can't just use on my own. A woman was there today waiting before me and asked if anyone actually worked at the front on the weekends and I said yes but many times they are not up here. She got tired of waiting them said she was canceling her membership and she was definitely frustrated. If your staff is busy doing other things for the facility, fine, but many times I have had to go and knock on the employee door to get anyone to come up and then they seem annoyed. There are other places to go and a new one opening right down the street from you guys that I'm sure many would gladly switch to. It sure would be nice if some of the staff acted like they were glad we showed up because without us, they don't have a job. I will be looking at finding the different place because this hasn't bend my 1st issue with your company. It's just sad That the company in general does not want better for their company.
I was working out at the Planet Fitness in District Heights MD at the Penn Station shopping Center. I was shocked when I was on the incline bench press machine and some idiot runs by me with sweats on and a black head band. I look up and this idiot is running around the work out area. Then he runs in front of the front desk, around the cardio equipment and back through area where people are using the various machines. My first thought was what the hell? Then I realized there are always fools that work out that want attention. The ones that scream and drop the weights so everyone can hear? Well this is the dumb dumb that just wants to be noticed. Doing defensive slides and stuff and hopping around people. This was so damn annoying to me. What was even more annoying is that not one person at Planed Fitness told this dummy to stop or to just run on the treadmill. If people have to look both ways just to get to the next machine, the staff are not doing their job. They will say something if your mask is not on properly right? So get off of your butts and say something about this. The working area must be safe at all times. People using this area as a track is just unacceptable. Does anyone know who I can talk to that can get this resolved?
I have been a member for 6 years. With all these high school students and overcrowding, I can't even get a workout done in an hour. I need to find a new gym.
Signed up for a 12 month trial with Planet Fitness of Kingsport. This is the Planet Fitness on Jack White Cir. Near Golden Coral.
My intentions were always to give it a try but Never used the facilities, NOT ONCE!
But I honered the contract every month regardless.
When the 12 months were up I went in to let them know I would not be renewing and to make sure that they did not do auto renewal, which they did not. They told me then that after the 12 months all was good and I owed no more.
Here we are two months later after the fact and I am charged a membership fee of $49.
When I contacted them on this it was told to me that the monthly fees have nothing to do with the membership fee and that even though my 12 months were up I still owe an annual membership fee that IS reoccurring and non refundable.
An annual fee! Even though my contract ended TWO months ago and I no longer have privileges to enter they said the annual fee is automatic and mandatory. For what?!
Even though they failed to bring this up when I clearly asked them if there was anything else I needed to do two months prior they said that if I didn't want charged an annual fee that I would have had to mention it beforehand.
No how much sense does that make?!
They have recently told me that if I don't want to continue paying the annual fee in the future then I will need to pay a penalty fee for canceling!
We will see.
This company is purposefully making it difficult to cancel membership in hopes to deter customer in order to keep their membership payment. I spoke to customer service and was surprised when she said I have to go physically to the location or mail in a letter. I no longer live in the area and I would have to travel a ways to make it in person to cancel. When I asked what the letter needs, employee couldn't answer. What I was told was that I would have to make sure the letter is in before the next billing cycle. I asked her when the policy changed because I had canceled before and she said after they opened up again from Covid they were able to take cancelations over they phone but they have now changed the policy. I didn't receive the notice of the policy being changed or that Planet Fitness would begin to charge my account again.
Walked in to Planet Fitness in February to cancel membership and was told I needed to do that online.
I got online, and it only let's you change level of membership- not cancel. Of course, went back in person but gym was closed from covid-19. At that point, app was not letting me access any changes since they were temporarily not billing due to covid. Fast forward to July 17, I get $23 monthly fee out of bank account. Then 2 weeks later, Aug 3, another $43 deduction for annual fees. I called gym stating my annual renewal date was in April and I've been trying to cancel membership since before then as to avoid the fee. But was told theres nothing they can do about it. I was very upset about $66 out if my bank account within a 2 week period, for something I was unable to cancel or contact for 3 months because they were closed. However then,"since I was upset and so they could accommodate me, the girl said she COULD go ahead and cancel my membership". But I thought I had to come in to do that?
The take away is, Apparently they give you the run around to not let you cancel, so you keep getting billed. Yet can adjust the policy when convenient to them. If course, any refund is "out of their hands and "per contract" the annual maintenance fee cannot be refunded. Despite my efforts the past 6 months to avoid this situation. And, there have been no correspondence stating when billing was to resume after closing for covid. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Answer: They charge your card without knowing. Then don't refund it. Even also they will damage your credit rating. What a disappointment.
Answer: They come to work with a chip on their shoulder. They do not acknowledge that clients make their business. Instead,they belittle clients to try to cut clients down to their size. They are neurotic and mean and,of course, unprofessional.
