Gainesville, GA. This is the most pathetic gym to work at and job to have. Until yesterday I was an employee at this location. The manager may have experience running a gym, but does not have experience being a part of a team. The company promises to promote from within, then hires an outsider as assistant manager and completely over looks prime candidates who are available. And when an emergency happens on site, the club manager blames the staff, complains about having to come in, then proceeds to tell staff 'it can wait till Monday'. Two patrons keys were stolen as well as one of the patrons vehicles. And the video feed for the police can 'wait till Monday'. That is an exact quote used from when this event happened Friday, November 3rd. On top of this, when we called the General Manager, Regional Manager, as well as another club manager, our manager was the only one to answer the phone. What does that say about poor communication in the event of an emergency. Good riddance planet fitness.

I am writing this to let people know that I have been receiving harassment and being made fun of on multiple occasions when I worked out here.
I have been a member for about a year now and I appreciated that they had a 30 minute workout room. I like to be in and out. It is never actually serve the purpose because every time that I go no one is honoring that particular rules space. I've been harassed more than once by multiple members and today was the top that I cannot handle anymore. Furthermore when I asked "Bryce" today to assist me with the harassment he did nothing about it. People making fun of me... in fact he "sided with the aggressors. I don't know the name of the other employee but he did nothing about it either. And this has been ongoing for quite some time this is the first day that I've actually asked an employee to help me out so that I can finish my work out. This is not OK. This is not a good gym. This is not a safe place or a judgment free zone as they say. The employees are gutless and they allow things that they're too scared to inform someone. -100 stars. I'm speaking about the gym on West 11th here in Eugene Oregon.

I am a member with planet fitness and as much as I love this gym I work out 5 days a week before work, so therefore I need to get ready at the gym, unfortunately they do not let you leave overnight items in the locker, with a lock. If you leave stuff overnight they will cut your locker and put all your stuff and lost and found. This is very frustrating for a woman that needs to get ready for work everyday at the gym, I now have to cart all of my stuff in and out everyday! My towel, my makeup, my blow dryer, my uniform, my deodorant my hair product, the gym in Citrus county has a ton of lockers that are not even being used, I requested an exemption, and it was denied. This is a true true inconvenience for a member who needs to get ready everyday at the gym, most likely a deal breaker. Citrus county Florida is a smaller county, and the locker room has over 100 lockers, so you leaving your stuff overnight with a lock should be allowed for the convenience of your loyal members that come everyday and need to get ready for work at the establishment, and this policy should be changed or looked by location, if it's a really busy establishment I understand, if there's complaints that there's not enough lockers for customers, I understand, however this is not the case for our Inverness FL location.

Planet Contradiction

Well I don't have any bad experiences here like the ones most of you have. I'm just here to roast the current business practices they are known for.
So you know that method where they only allow EFT payment method? Yeah about that. Did you know that less & less people are using bank accounts, and more are switching to things like Bluebird, GreenDot, etc? Well if you don't have a bank account, you are not welcome at planet fitness.
I had a membership there. And there are signs everywhere & every one of them says the same things "You belong!" "Judgement free zone!"
But since when does it become judgment free when you are called out by an alarm system for dropping weights? Since when are you tossed out for being in shape & just trying to better yourself? "Ma'am you have to leave. You're doing too well on that ab workout that you're intimidating the lady eating an XXL pizza on the bench press." That right there is judgment, just not in the same sense as most other gyms. It's a passive aggressive form of it, and directed to the opposite side of the coin.
And the drinks are wicked expensive. $5 for a muscle milk? I pay less than that for the same bottle of muscle milk at the gas station.
Oh and don't use the locker rooms if there is a senior citizens event. I found out the hard way that there was a senior citizens trip taking place... by walking into a bunch of naked old men getting out of the shower. My mind was scarred for life. Lol

I had planet fitness when I lived in LA. I canceled my membership because I moved and was no longer going to the gym. 2020 right before the pandemic I joined here in Phoenix. Instantly, accounts were frozen since the shutdown. A few months goes by and I'm seeing charges on my back statement. I called they said I need to go to gym and close in person. I didn't even know the gyms were back opened nor was I planning to go so soon. Well I ended up closing that bank account anyways so I didn't worry abt it. 7/16 I decided to joined again and paid the $1. A few days goes by and I received an email saying there was a $10 reversal. On 7/17 PF ran my checking for $10. I called and asked why they didn't know said I need to call the actual gym. On 7/26 I paid the $10 plus $5 fee for calling in. The rep told me my account was current and no payment is due until next month. Today 7/30 received a text $10 reversal called PF they stated because there was a $10 late fee due to being my account current. Canceling my membership tomorrow, I rather pay $40 a month than deal with this

Dreadful
March 12, 2023

I have been a member of the Houma LA Planet Fitness for about 18 months and the experience seems to get worse every visit. There are multiple employees behind the counter playing on their phones instead of greeting customers and walking around the facility making sure the place is clean and orderly. The men's locker room always stinks. Paper towel dispensers are often empty and the same hand sanitizer machine has been out of order for a month. The parking lot looks like an earthquake hit it (potholes and huge cracks). A homeless guy hangs around the front door and yells at people. There is no supervision while rowdy/unruly people curse, slam equipment, hog machines (sitting on them for extended periods playing on their phone), use 2 machines at one time (walking back and forth), and on 3/10/23 around 6 pm there was a fight because this annoying guy who keeps hanging around hollering at people (staff does nothing) annoyed a group of friends who were trying to enjoy their workout in peace. The employees are lazy and I never see a manager on duty (I usually go on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday around 5 pm). I have talked to others who have cancelled their membership and gone to other gyms. I have a treadmill in my home and I am thinking about buying a bicycle and ending the dismal experience of dreadful visits to the Houma Planet Fitness.

These punks over charge, ridiculous one time fees, charged me during COVID when the gym was closed, it would be good if they charge by usage, but you're charged, charged, and charged, money hungry $#*! commercialized $#*! company, corporate creeps, eat a bowl of fat PF d*cks!

STUPID! I was going to get the Black Card Membership and pay for the whole year with my credit card. Guy said I couldn't do that and wanted me to give him my bank account and routing number plus my credit card info. You have to be HIGH ON DRUGS if you think I'm giving you direct access to all of my money.

Over charge without knowing

I joined the club on may 28th, 2022. The girl who was explaining to me all the benefits and charges never told me I have to pay for down payment for joining the club. She only explained to me the annually membership $39.99 and a monthly payment of $10.00. I noticed a charge on my bank account of $38.53 on May 28th 2022, a monthly charge of $10.00 o July 17th 2022, and a membership $39.99 on July 1st, so I called to the planet fitness to find out about the $38.53 charge on May and the girl on the phone told me that it was a down payment charge I never was told I have to give a down payment to join the gym. But what I just didn't like when she told me that down payment is variable some months is $1 others would be $38.53 or more or it can be less. I would really have appreciated it if this down payment was explained at the first day when I joined the gym. Very disappointed on the down payment charge. I guess that day I didn't have enough luck to pay a less down payment She told me that ‍‍‍Still processing that information.

The new assittant manger at the crestwood planet fitness are horrible, when they are around they do nothing and will not help you, you will be sitting at the front desk for 5 mins at a time and she will make eye contact and ignore you. She doesnt make me feel welcomed, I never get a smile or a " hey how you doing" like I did with the old asstaint manger Tyler. The tanning beds are always dirty while she is working. Her costumer service is horrible and her job ethic is even worse. When Margie is working I never have to wait to tan, the bed is cleaned and as soon as I step foot in the bed is ready for me, margie is someone I would want as my asstaint manger. She makes me feel welcomed, and knows who I am even with the short period of time I have been a member. I have heard mutiple people complain about shelby, and how rude she is.

The Club of Liers

Literally, dont spend your money on tje club of liers and $#*!s.

They won't tell you important details until you get charged. I was told if I canceled the membership one day before, I would not get charged. However, the other day I was charged again and they told me there is a time window for the cancellation! If you wants to get in, Read Their Wordy Contract Very Carefully! Otherwise, they will hide some info even You Directly Consult at the Front Desk

DONT TRUST ANY STAFF, THEY WILL CHEAT YOU!.

They will admit they've cheated you, misinformed you and they won't refund you

It's a shame how you are judged at the Farragut, TN location. At this rate they will not last. Why is Planet Fitness NOT a part of the BBB?!? How is it they are in dire straits when they consistently scam your direct bank account?! Drug problems maybe?!? I have been a member for about 6 yrs & I'm a caucasian female who is dead $#*! over the racists at this local. The manager "Ruth" shouldn't have a job working for people. If she where a police officer I would have SERIOUS CONCERNS FOR THE PUBLIC because my son is mixed race & SHE IS THE TYPE OF RACIST WITH A BADGE & A GUN WHO KILLS. I have since changed locals for safety. WOW! Desired outcome would be INCLUSIVE! And someone, ANYONE please check her out.

Disheartening review, especially after visiting the gym in Lewisburg and Shomkin Dam. Extremely unsettling. Being stared at, unsettling, almost humiliated, at a " no judgment zone ".
Next... Most of the time there's no one behind the counter. When, you walk in, And when there was is it's on three, four instances, where it was the same high school student name tag said, kelly,, shes constantly texting on her phone. 1.5 hours later, My daughter Caitlin sees her talking to another female employee in the ladies locker room, talking about her " issues " her social life. When, prior, someone told her, there were no paper towels, in the 30 min room. 25 min later, still none.
Incompetent immature, does the owner no what's going on in his gym. The manager Dawn, was Extremely rude, very anti people, wrong field to be in, if you can't be nice and interact with people. The employees didn't even like her. That's what I heard...
The only thing right in that gym, is Andrew. The assistant manager.
We will be going to the Lewisburg gym, from now on. Where a appropriate gym is run.

Once you sign up you cant get out without paying through the $#*!. Tried to contact them and ask how to quit after our year long agreement was up and you get this dumb automated response... for my wife and I to quit it is $108! That is nonsense. What a crap company!

Thank you for contacting us!

Per the agreement, in order to cancel a membership, a member must either go to the club in person to fill out a cancellation form, or send a letter (preferably via certified mail) to the club, requesting cancellation. Please note: Memberships cannot be cancelled via fax, phone, or email.

The processing of this cancellation request is subject to any agreement obligations. For more information, please refer to the membership agreement or call your home location. If your membership has a 12 month commitment and you wish to cancel at any time before the commitment is met, you may pay a $58 buyout fee to do so. If you wish to cancel after the 12 months have been met, the buyout fee would not apply. The membership does continue monthly after the commitment is met, until you cancel the membership.

If you are sending a letter, please call the club to verify that your membership can be cancelled at this time. Please be sure your cancellation request (and any payments owed) are received on or before the 10th of the month, if you do not wish to be billed in the same month on the 17th. Cancellations would need to be received by the 25th of the previous month to avoid responsibility for the annual fee on the 1st.

Tricky with fees

They are clever with fees:

1) A NEW member fee of $62.94
2) Then an annual fee of $39
3) Then monthly fees

It cost us nearly $200 for just two months. They are fee-mongers!
