This site is to be avoided at all costs. If you are a buyer, you are throwing money away. The freelancers aren't vetted, and are not what they say they are. If you accept a proposal, pay a deposit, and then change your mind, you cannot get a refund even if no work has been done. I paid a £165.00 deposit and no work has been done and I have been refused a refund. Please stay well clear of this place, unless you like throwing money in the bin. Upwork is much much fairer and credible. Otherwise, pay the price and get the work done professionally.
2nd time I have been let down on Peopleperhour. I hired a Seller to complete a task in 2 days. It was needed for a deadline. She failed. I extended28 it 5 days. She failed. I requested a refund. Peopleperhour want me to pay the Seller £25 for something I no longer need.
We tried to use the service. The freelancer of choice was too busy. So we asked for a refund from Peopleperhour. All we got in reply were emails saying they were too busy to respond to the request for a refund and a customer service agent would contact us. Total BS! No contact whatsoever!
The moment you have paid into their 'escrow account' (condition for the freelancer 'to do something'), your money is lost - unless you manage to get your credit card company on your side. The freelancers have no qualifications. And the one who possibly has (kingpin?) sits in Pakistan, hiding behind something called Digital Marketing and Software Development Company systechlogic. Com I think I have mentally penetrated their modus operandi and filed a detailed criminal complaint. Hope they take the time to read the very telling chat that I could save...
I paid to feature my offer and only got 30 views in a week. If that's what their "Featured" offer delivers, it's a complete joke. I also bought credits to message people and received zero replies. My nearly free service, aimed at building my portfolio, got no responses and reached a very small audience. It seems like most of the "freelancer required" jobs on this site are fake to make it look active. Avoid this website if you're a freelancer.
Ive done three jobs through this website - and I have been conned every time. The rating system is ineffective because the freelancer will blackmail you for good feedback before finishing the job. I contacted the support to inform them, and every time they told me there's nothing they can do. Ive attached an image showing how I rejected a payment from the most recent nightmare with this system, simply because the developer had not finished. I was on less than blackmailed by the developer.
This company based in England (they say) is a directory of people from India, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Somalia and all those countries where you can hardly claim the service you buy for your money.
Anyone can subscribe saying that they are "Astronaut" and there you will see it listed... very low level in general and the platform service is poor. If you want to get scammed this is the right place.
They are going to rob you without a doubt, but before it will be later, I do not recommend it.
I purchased by spending 10 dollars. But the Freelancer just read my workstream and didn't replied. Also, contacted the customer service using email. First time, they replied genuinely. But after knowing that I was scammed by their freelancer, they also stopped replying from support team.
The Freelancer act like she don't know about the order. Even I sent purchase screenshot to her.
Check screenshots for proof.
I certify that this review is based on my own experience, that I am in no way affiliated with this business, and have not been offered any incentive or payment to write this review. I agree to Sitejabber's Terms of Service, including to not write false reviews – which is, in many cases, against the law.
Beware of fraudulent sites. I paid £45 for a service but was surprised to find that £58 was charged. Customer service is very bad. There was no response until after a week to resolve my issue with the Google Merchant Center. After more than a month, the problem has not been resolved. I requested a refund of the amount paid, but they refused. I did not receive the service and was scammed out of £58.
They don't support buyers on the site. They have scammer freelances on the site and when they admit they cant do the project you initially requested PPH wont support the buyer and refund you from the Escrow as they want to keep the scam freelancers on this site.
There are two huge problem with remote freelancing sites, and this one is no exception: Scams, scams, scams, scams, scams. Unvetted job posts lead to scam after scam, most of which are obvious (little-to-no detail, crazy overpayment for simple tasks, bad grammar, etc), some are a little more clever, which I assume are just job descriptions lifted from elsewhere, then they start asking you for weird info and redirect you to other sites.
And of course there's the other thing: The pay. If you live in the United States, or Europe, or Australia, or any similar nation, you're going to find most of the work is underpaid because there are 100,000 people from Kenya or India or Pakistan willing to do 10 hours of work for $41. That is a literal real example that I pulled. It is SUCH a waste of time.
First of all, there are literally 100s of fake job posts there daily. People who would post many jobs but never hire... And secondly as a freelancer. There is no protection...
Any client can at any point report you, and they would block your account... and you cant complain. You can only talk to that specific client to solve it for you... which they never would...
And secondly, another experience of mine... the Client changed the requirements after 3 weeks of work... I was creating a website. And he changed the url... and wanted a different website...
And when i talked with support... they said they cant do anything... i should just cancel the contract and dont work for them anymore...
FRAUD website. I worked on ORM for client for 4 weeks and peopleperhoursent refund to client without any acknowledgements.
2) Beware of the questionable practices on PPH. I spent four weeks working on an ORM project for a client, only for the website to refund the client automatically – without any acknowledgement or consultation.
4) Besides, support can take things personally. Esp lady named SOPHIE. She can send refund and delete your gigs only because you rated her ticket with 1 star,
3) To make matters worse, they later claimed that ORM services are no longer allowed.
Their approach to auto-refunding is devoid of transparency, akin to Fiverr, and raises concerns regarding the trustworthiness of the platform. ***Proceed with caution!
1. I think they steal money without your knowledge
2. Support is tortosie-ly slow or perhaps just doesnt ever reply back
Write to them where did my money go - no answer.
Some dats later, they will say investing and you never get your money back.
3. cheater finance team of PPH
Changed policy without warning. We extended the withdrawal period, removed any guarantees for the safety of funds. The support service does not respond to requests. This platform has turned into a trash heap, they just launder dirty money.
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT sign up to do business with these fishy mother$#*!ers. You will not get paid for one, for two, they send "projects" to transcribe or translate and when you're done, there IS nowhere on that site to "submit your work" to. When you call the numbers to complain about that, the person on the other line simply states, "I don't know, we're not allowed to help you with this"... Um, SCAM! I emailed them and told them to take their job and shove it up their asses. It is a scam, because for one, there's NO LINK to click on for submission. For two, they "can't help you and aren't supposed to"... Um, a REAL employer would be available for help any time. So, I deleted my account with them, deleted any and all emails from them and basically told them not to contact me again. Do not fall for this. You will not get paid and their so-called projects are a joke!
Client that I worked for did chargeback and PPH said they cant pay me my earning because client did chargeback.
I never had such experience with other freelancing site
Freelancer works here with hope of earning - not being scammed.
Big sites like PPH must have legal teams and fianacial tie ups to cover all such problems. I has worst un-expected loss experience with PPH
Having been a Buyer on this site and worked as a seller, I have to say that preference is shown to Buyers. High rates charged for work completed, advertising add ons which seem overly expensive, no prior vetting of any freelancers, no access to funds paid when refunded (you are given a credit instead of an actual refund)
Commission fees are in excess of 20% for sellers, poor customer service, charges to lodge a dispute, most processes including refunds being automated and often carried out in error with no recourse to issues being remedied...
Would not recommend.
PeoplePerHour is an incredibly sketch Fiverr clone that doesn't really work all that well for freelancers. They are engaged in illegal email marketing campaigns that will not remove your email address if you want them to. I would highly recommend avoiding them completely.
Answer: They are not interested in answering queries and questions = the best way of getting a message across to the Wally that runs the site is to get involved in one of their Webinars = that by the way, is the only reason anyone would want to take part in them!
Answer: They are stupid and lazy. I sent emails for my account being deactivated, when they responded "I do not see an account with this email. Email me from the email on your account." Well, if I do not have an account and cannot make one, how I am supposed to email you from one on the nonexisting account? They did not read my email when I asked why or they would have known I did not have an account and could not email from that email. You have to pay a price for each job you apply so really I find it a scam. There are jobs posted, but after a year never hired and what is to prove they are legit jobs? Afterall, we have to pay just to apply!
Answer: Nobody wants to talk on the phone. Everything is by email with a 2 to 3 day response delay depending on your Geo location.

Answer: Because there are lots of people who say they can do stuff, but actually can't, and when they fail, you still pay.
Answer: Definitely call your credit card company and dispute the charge.
