The card that I have is locked because of a technical glitch and it has been that way for over a month. The customer care team doesn't seem to know what's going on A Pay Power "support call" ends with a negative outcome but, then they say "Is there anything else that I can help you with". Do not depend on their service because you will be sorry.

Steal Your Money
April 15, 2022

I have had these Paypower gift cards for a while and decided to check my balance. Went through their site to create an account just to find out they have taken 2.50 from me twice in the last 3 months on two cards. So I am out $10 dollars between both cards and I can't even go back that far to see if they have charged me more. It's only showing this year. They charged a dormancy fee. I heavily recommend buying a gift card from another company that won't steal your money.

When you try to reload a card the system creates a digital card for online use only. They will send your money back after 45 days via cheque and charge $10 for processing. Complete false advertising. Make all complaints to the retailers so they will stop selling these scam cards.

My experience was similar to others. Website errors, rude and unprofessional customer service, can't reload, and was unusable for the online merchant. I bought this card for 9.99 at Canadian Tire who are clearly also profiting off our pain and should be held just as responsible. All parties involved should be ashamed and audited. I'm reporting to the BBB and Canadian Consumer Affairs, I recommend you do the same to get this fake service taken off shelves immediately

Whoever created this card is completely incompetent, card never works, pin is useless, can not use online. It is essentially a scam. You are charged almost $10 to activate the card they add on unneeded made up fees every month for "inactivity" even though the card is unusable. It is impossible to sign into your account when I sign in I am constantly barraged with error messages, I tried to combat this issue by changing the password however all of my attempts were screwed by some error message (they do not even mention the error a "unauthorized" message appears) Why is it unauthorized you may asked? I don't know either! I hope this business goes bankrupt considering everyone who runs it has an IQ of 7 and can't locate Canada on a map. Shameful.

Worst prepaid ever

Of all the prepaid gift cards, this one is the worst. This one wont let you check your balance online, unless you download an app, which doesn't work most of the time either. And don't try the online service. Unless you know whatever arbitrary birth date someone selected for the card, you wont get in there. And they must know the service is bad.they dont even have a place for the company to leave reviews at.

Declined after 1 use

Bought these prepaid Mastercards to use for gas and groceries for a family vacation. The card worked once then declined every other transaction we tried it for. Customer service was a joke, saying it is working on their end. Their best solution was to purchase another card from them for $20 and a $10 activation fee so that they could transfer the money off the original card! After speaking to customer service 6 times and no resolution the cards still contain hundreds of dollars on them and decline every store/gas station we have tried them at! Worst prepaid card ever!

I tried to call two weeks in a row to finish to talk to somebody. They cancel my almost new prepaid card without telling me. I had money. I even received some refunds from orders anyway. They jam my card without telling me. An their website my account suddenly said a new card have been sent... and since then they refuse to give me my money or tell me wats is wrong. I cant transfer the funds on another card because i can only have 1 registered card. These are Thieves criminals that parasite our world!

This is a HORRIBLE card

This card is focused on children,okj very young people who were brainwashed to think that cell phones are the only way to do things. If you are over 40 avoid like the plagues!. You cant access the card on your computer,ie check your balance, and look for scams. It's impossible to get a balance, they implement changes that are directed to cost them less and give you very bad service. They now want you to use your phone for all transactions, ie transfer money using your phone. As if there are no scams directed at your phone. They do NOT CARE ABOUT the customer at all. Their programs seem to be run by a 20-year-old and don't factor in that people do not want to do everything on their phones, that everyone uses a smart phone etc. AWFUL PROGRAM - horrible service on their call in as well. To get a balance, i was asked to send an email which would be responded ot in a couple of days. OMG

I usually dont write reviews especially negative ones because i believe sometimes experience differs from one person to another but this one i FELT OPPRESSED. Imagine calling to asking for help and guidance and suddenly they cancel your account without giving an answer on why. I had 2300$ balance and they told me my balance is 0 and your account is canceled. I called and they left me on hold half an hour and then they replied by email that there was a mistake in the system. Without apologizing as if my feelings dont matter at all. They said they will send it as a cheque and i received it after a month.
They say you can do cash withdrawal with a daily limit. <<< bull$#*!>>> Customer support are not helpful at all. Card doesnt have taping capabilities and you cant add it to your phone payments. You cant do any prepaid. Seriously avoid it at all cost! Never again.

Garbage

No technical support when a technical issue happened-- I registered on the website and click to make this card reloadable, and nothing happened, called the customer support and they cannot do anything. The whole thing makes no sense. Wth I paid $509 for this $500 value sh*t?

I called the *******299 customer service number there was no one that was welling to help me. I purchased a PayPower mastercard and there was no way to activate it. I lost the money that I paid for the card. The customer service center wouldn't transfer me to help me.

Paypower is absolutely brutal! Can't talk to anyone to find the balance. Can't go online to look as they don't have an online site. Can't put the card number in cause the card does not match! Unreal...DO NOT EVER GET THIS CARD!

Not worth your time!

Someone is becoming very wealthy off this scam! What a joke! Transaction fees, monthly service fees, you have to upgrade your card to be able to withdraw cash, then your only allowed $100 a week... total RIP off! I feel sorry for anyone who falls for all the bull$#*! and lies printed on the packaging... easy access my A$$! I'll do my absolute best to ensure not a single person buys these garbage cards!

My nephew received a $30 power pay Visa Debit Card for his birthday. It remained in his wallet for about 4 months. It was NOT ACTIVATED during this time. He went to use it - it declined. When we called as to why - we were told it needed to be activated - which we then did. We found out it only had $. 25 on it! 25 cents! What a deal in scam! Never activated and they just took the money under the guise of "fees" and he should have read the terms and conditions - WOW - really? Crooks, thieves, scammers- STAY AWAY! There are plenty of reputable Visa cards out there to do business with. Not this one.

PayPower Sucks

I have almost nothing good to say...
Damaged PIN number on Reload Pack... took too long to fix the issue and they blamed me of tampering with the PIN Number...
Also, when I went to take money out an ATM. The card would not let me... and after attempted at two ATM machines... with no success.
I phoned 3 times... and treated very poorly and a Manager who promised to phone back never did.
Stay Away from PayPower...

Yet another company that has a marketing scheme tricking you into thinking they are the cheapest.

You pay $1 less than the higher up brand name cards but the reality is that they charge you a monthly hidden fee even if you don't activate it. I had 10 cards for Christmas which I bought in September. When I gifted them in December, turns out that Paypower had already drained all the funds off of the cards.

I wasted $250 on 10 cards. Use an alternate pre paid card because the monthly fee actually makes the worst prepaid card. Shame on Safeway do even do business with this company.

PayPower's online bill paying service has withheld my money for over a week now by refusing to allow me to pay my bills online as I have done with them for years. I've had no ongoing problem with them until now. The problem is with their IT department, the problem is with their computer on their end which gives me the error message "Invalid Token" when I attempt to pay any bill. After contacting them 3 times this week PayPower has taken no action to correct the problem, but they did email me to say there is nothing wrong with my card or account as if that's an explanation. The only thing PayPower has done is repeatedly tell me the problem will be fixed in two days. Now its going to be Monday of next week. Think twice before handing your money over to this company unless you enjoy taking hours of your time away from your life so you can hassle it out with their unhelpful staff.

Sucked In

Needed a prepaid card for on line, purchased the card, retailer took my money, gave me a receipt stating it was activated with $ 50 on it. I went to use guess what not activated no money, tried calling company, robot response to go on line to register, will not accept card number pleas call in, 4 days of this, emails back and forth "please call in" robot responses, when I did get some one," contact retailer" retailer says contact Paypower card is activated.
I have a receipt stating its activated from Paypower. Yes this is a scam.

Not good

I joined paypower because I wanted a discreet credit card for on line purchases but now it's time to get a new card and they want all my personal financial records that is not what I signed up for so good bye paypower
