Customer service
December 29, 2017

This is the worst service possible. The automated number does not work properly and keeps kicking you out. I just wanted my balance and I could not get thru after 32 tries. Finally I called customer service and after a 20 minute wait I told the person that I just want a balance and to get it from a person. She connected me with the automated number again. "STUPID". After my second try and this time a 25 min. Wait the rep. This time, after explaining everything, I was disconnected. Please purchase the prepaid cards and definitely not the reloadable ones. If you need help with customer service this is not the place to go!

After faxing in my disputes of $100, there were two on my card history when someone used my card number to make a total of $200 in transactions that I did not authorize, I waited 45 days and was told I would not get my money back. The customer service told me a different story every time I called and said that I agree when I purchase the card to let them investigate any disputes and I do not believe they investigated anything because they are letting the people who stole my money keep it.

Paypower held my $4000 for no reason and refuse to give me my money!
When I asked them to close my account and give me back my money, they refused!
You don't even have to put in your card number or identify yourself when you call them, they know you by your voice! They refuse to give their last names and the Nevada detectives are investigating them!
Don't use them!
They have at least 72 complaints on ripoffreport.com and at least 90 on pissedconsumer.com!

They claim that all the reviews online are not true and that they are reputable but they steal your identity and your money!
I sent them all the documents they requested and then they are asking for a copy of my paycheck to release the hold that they placed on my $4000 for NO REASON AT ALL!

PAYPOWER IS A SCAM!
PayPower stole $4000 from me!

****UPDATE...

They wrote me and told me to call them to resolve the issue and I called back and they never responded. Still out of my money [September 26,2013]

DO NOT GET THIS CARD
April 21, 2015

DO NOT USE THIS CARD... 1) major issues with accessing funds 2) ATM locator on the website sends you to phantom machines 3) NO bank teller at any bank can help you 4) The phone operators provide false or inadequate information 5) speaking to Manager is useless... no power to assist in any fashion 6) after the operators/managers frustrate you... apparently there is no higher person to speak to... I've been trying to take out cash for a week now and have spoken to 3 operators and 1 manager in the last hour alone. IF TRAVELING... you're better off using your debit which has extremely less service fees.

Absolutely the worst most ridiculously incompetent pathetic company I have ever in my life dealt with DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CARD UNLESS YOU PLAN OF BEING SCREWED OVER
I went to their site to reload from my bank site the money was withdrawn from my bank account and sent to PayPower it took me seven days 45 phone calls 18 emails to climb the corporate ladder to get to somebody that was able to finally figure out that they had a batch file error when I did my transfer funds they didn't offer me any credit they still charged me three ninety-five per transaction and it took him another 6 days to get the money back to my bank account

Ripoff
July 2, 2018

MASTERCARD HAS LENT THEIR NAME TO THIS SCAM. THIS GIVES IT CREDIBILITY. This card was sold by our local grocery store. I have the same complaint as everyone else. Once you set up your password, and after validating it, you cannot use that password again. It will never work after that so you cannot use the card. A complaint will go ro Mastercard lends their name to this scam.
They removed $30 from the card before I even used it and then could not access the balance. Customer service gives gives you the run around, and refer you back to the automated service which denies your valid password.

I'm so pissed I cannot even write, but... Same as a previous reviewers, fraudulent charges. My teenage daughter received this card as a gift. Never used it. When she did go try to register it we got a message that they were no longer running his program and gave a number for Meta Bank. Meta Bank told me that there was nothing left of the $200 preloaded. $150 charge from Amazon that we never made. Amazon has confirmed this (let alone the $4.95 charged per month for inactivity which is raking consumers over the coals). I called Meta back and was told it's well over the dispute resolution time period. I conveyed I thought this was unfair since unlike a credit card you do not get monthly statements. I spoke to first a rep then a manager who right off the bat was dismissive of my claim that the charge was fraudulent. He said that there is no way to prove that it was fraudulent, there was not money left, it was my fault for waiting over a year, etc. etc. Despite me telling him that it was unfair he kept reiterating "you have not rights." He seemed to relish that there was no way he could help me and too bad for me. I don; t say this lightly, I have spoken to customer care reps who reiterate their policy that i don; t agree with, but they typically apologize or pretend to be helpful and sympathetic. Not Mike, Supervisor of Consumer Servicing in Sioux Falls, ND. He finally acquiesced and gave me an address to "write a letter." I's steer clear of both PayPower and Meta Bank. Wish I could give negative stars...

Received a PayPower card as a gift. I went to use the card for a ourchase exceeding the amount on the card and the card declined. Well the card can only be used for a purchase onnthe amount of yhe card. After contacting their useless and unprofessional customer service department i learned the card could only be used for the exact amount on the car. Because my purchase was greater than the amount on the card... the catd declined. My intent was to use the total amount of the PayPower card and the balance with a diferent payment method. But the PayPower card declined despite the large balance. Then i come to find out fees have been deducted each month. When i ask why that is... they could not answer the question... and this was the supervisor. Therefore, lesson learned... I will never, ever purchase one of thrse cards... and i ouuld suggest no one does! BYW... gave a one star rating only b/c it was required field.

IF I COULD RATE ZERO STARS I WOULD! My M-I-L purchased 6 of these cards for the grandchildren of the family for presents at an annual family Christmas party. She paid $3.95 each in purchase fees. I saved the two $20 cards for my young sons to take on our family vacation to Disney in Feb. However when we tried to activate them to use them - they were unable to be activated. I called the very-hard-to-understand customer service department, and they opened a claim to figure out what the problem was. To make a long story short - about 2 weeks after the ticket was opened I finally received a call to tell me that we had waited too long to activate the card and the service fees (which ARE listed on the packaging) had kicked in at the point of purchase - even though the cards had not been activated (THIS IS NOT INDICATED ON THE PACKAGING) The first monthly service fee of $5.95 was deducted against the balance less than 1 week after the purchase date in December. A $5.95 maintenance fee was deducted in January and also February - so the $20 card was completely used up in service fees. I was told that there was "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING" that they could do about it. So my 6 and 8 year olds were cheated out of $20 of spending money and my Mother-In-Law completely wasted her money on what turned out to be a crummy gift. I WILL NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, PURCHASE / USE / RECOMMEND A PAY POWER PRODUCT - EVER! What a racket.
