The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues with ticket delivery, refund policies, and customer service responsiveness. Many customers report being charged exorbitant fees, receiving invalid tickets, and facing unresponsive support channels, leading to frustrations and claims of being scammed. While some customers appreciate the variety of events offered, the overwhelming sentiment reflects a lack of trust and reliability. The company's rigid policies regarding refunds, particularly for postponed events, further exacerbate negative perceptions, suggesting a need for improved customer service and clearer communication.

We received an email that Muse will be in NYC so clicked on the link believing we are on their official website and ordered 2 tickets for $600 when they arrived the value on the ticket was $74. It was way too late when we realized something is wrong. But just now after reading all the reviews I am glad the tickets arrived before the concert. Honestly, I wish I would read the reviews before my order.
Never got my link for download... spend several hours trying to contact someone and kept getting recordings. Finally got someone and they put me on hold for 30 min. Never had time to finish because my lunch hour was up...
Janet Jackson has cancelled both tour dates and now thinks 2017. I want a refund of my $829.10. No response from this scam company.
Don't go near them!
I spent $465.55 dollars for 4 tickets to see a Freestyle concert and they put me up in the nose bleed section. Now I have to buy binoculars. I am not happy they way they do business. Filing a complaint with the BBB.
Please answer: has anyone gotten into their concert after paying these pigs for tickets.
Please answer! I bought Concert tickets and they charged me triple the price. Now I just want to get to the concert and I'm told by staff their I won't be able to tell if it's a real ticket till we get it scanned on concert day. Please tell me if you got into yours and thanks
OMG. These guys are disgusting. I thought I was on Ticketmaster site, but somehow ended up on this scamming site & paid thru pay pal, who should clearly not have a merchant agreement with them. They are glorified scalpels is all. Long story short, I have paid over $2100 Cdn for concert tickets that are not delivered for 6 months, if at all legit and I am struggling to have my money refunded, via merchant, PayPal & credit. SCAMMERS! Should be charged criminally.
It is March 16 & I can not get Capital One to process my request for a chargeback. Now I'm busy fighting with them. Card has gone delinquent because I refuse to pay $2100 for Adele tickets, I can not validate authenticity of emailed tickets & I was scammed by scalpers. Why would MasterCard support scalpels?
Accidentally found their website while searching for the venue's site. Bought tickets. Later found out they re-sold tickets at a 50% mark up. It's a scam. The venue had loads of open tickets for the exact same show and section of the venue. Nobody should buy anything from OnlineCityTickets. It's a complete fraud.
Purchased four Janet Jackson concert tickets, for a total cost of $475. Janet Jackson postponed the first concert (10/25/15) and has now postponed the raincheck concert (01/09/16). Despite every venue offering full refunds, OnlineCityTickets is stating they will only refund the money when Jackson officially cancels. She is planning on coming back in May 2016. Therefore, people are being held hostage until Janet get's in CONTROL of her situation, and OnlineCityTickets is good with this. I'm telling anyone who will read and/or listen, DO NOT USE THIS SITE.
I am from Canada, was buying a ticket in Canada and ended up being charged in USD, with no indication of the transaction currency at the time of the order. After I saw the transaction on my statement and complained to the customer service, I got to know that the company is actually a US based company and charges usd. I hope this information will be helpful for someone buying from Canada, but really this is a big scam to not to show the currency transaction at the time of order
NO mention of the exorbitant service charge per ticket ($35 per ticket x 8 tickets!) until AFTER you put in your credit card info at checkout. Hopefully I stopped the sale in time - but anxious that they have my info. Shame on me for not checking this site out online in advance. Beware!
Christmas Eve I was going to take my family to see the matinee of the Lion King. The tickets arrived 2 hours late and did not give us time to get to the venue. They stuck us with the tickets because it was our fault that we couldn't get there on time! They only offered to refund the cost of shipping and their service fee. I am contesting the charges through my credit card. Terrible customer service! I'm frustrated that this left such a negative impact on our holiday.
I PAID 85.00 FOR TRANS SIBEARAN TICKETS. ALL THE SERVICE FEES AND TICKET FEES DOWNLOAD FEES WERE ABOUT $30 PER TICKET. I COULD HAVE GOT THE SAME TICKETS FROM TICKETMASTER FOR $50 ALL IN!
THEN THE KICKER... THIS IS A USA SITE, SO ADD ANOTHER 35%. EACH TICKET COST $ 125. THEY CLAIM TO BE RESALE SITE... I CALL A ROYAL RIPP OFF!
THE EMPOYEES DID THEIR BEST... ITS THE OWNER OF THIS SITE THAT SHOULD BE ARRESTED FOR THEFT!
I had posted a negative review about my experience and my fear of not receiving my tickets in time. I was worried after seeing all of the negative reviews on here, but in the end my tickets did arrive 2 weeks before the concert, and were legit. The only complaint I would have is the extra fees, but that could have been avoided if I had read the fine print before ordering.
I ordered my tickets for Trans-Siberian Orchestra playing at the Canadian Tire Center on Dec 22. When I chose my tickets, I specifically avoided the Floor tickets due to medical issues. I was very happy with my choice of Section 102. I was promised this section but not the specific ROW. I was OK with this, as the section was the most important. I received my tickets on Dec 19 and was flabbergasted to see that I got tickets for the Floor and not the section I was lead to believe I would be in. When I asked them to give me what I paid for, they had the nerve to tell me the floor was considered an upgrade and therefore I was not entitled to a refund. Upgrade in who's opinion? Certainly not in mine. I have been forced to officially dispute the charges on my credit card. Buyer BEWARE is certainly the theme here.
I made the big mistake of buying the tickets for Motown at the National Theater DC with Onlinecitytickets.com. I later realized that they were outrageously expensive almost 50% over the face value plus a service fee of $$7 for each ticket. I strongly recommend to avoid using this service.
I was charged a $71 service fee for two tickets to a concert, which I did to know about until they emailed me a receipt of my purchase. Had I known about this ridiculous fee, I certainly would not have ordered tickets through them. As it is, I paid $119 per ticket which have a face value of $75. Do not use this ticket vendor!
Prices for Adele tickets are misrepresented on their website.
Thank you. I purchased Frozen on Ice tickets from you a year ago and we just saw the show on Wednesday. No problem, WE printed our tickets and had great seats. Thank you so much!
I bought 2 tickets for 98.00 each to see Wicked in OC... PAID 268.00 for the 2... they just got here... FACE VALUE 53.00, so I paid 160.00 in fees... YOU SUCK!
Answer: In my case, they sent e-mail that the tickets would be forthcoming. When I failed to receive them the week before the concert, per e-mail download as promised, I called their #, the person on the other end told me that it was will-call at the box-office with the copy of the e-mail I needed to bring. The box office told me that as a 2nd line seller, they did not keep them there. When I called to ask why they did this to me and demanded re-imbursal, they sent the tickets per e-mail download THE DAY AFTER THE CONCERT. They tried to cover their tracks with the credit card company, the problem for them was that the time stamp of their sending the tickets reflected the day after the concert. So essentially, they are not even competent as rip-off artists.
Answer: So sorry to hear you have been conned by this outfit. Apparently sometimes they DO send valid tickets, so I hope you are one of the lucky ones. I suggest you tell your credit card company (by phone and IN WRITING) that you are disputing this charge. Also tell everyone you know to avoid this rip-off company. I know this doesnt help you now, but in the future buy tickets only from Ticketmaster (I've never had a problem with them). Good luck.
Answer: I couldn't even open the download so I called the number and all I got was an answering system to send email and I did but no reply from them so the next day a call about 50 times until I got someone. After getting transferred to 3 different people and waiting about an hour for the supervisor the guy told me no refunds are allowed but money is 100% guarantee if it doesn't work at the time of the event. So I'm praying to God they are good the event isn't until the end of November
Answer: They are scoundrels. I know where their office is and went by there recently. I am laying out a plan.
Answer: If you have already purchased your tickets from this outfit, good luck. They sent me tickets for a concert in Tennessee and I asked for and live in Florida. They said it was MY mistake and that I asked for TN. They supposedly tried to resell the tickets and couldn't so I was out $300.00 for two tickets. They have something like 130 complaints and are a scam outfit. Next time order elsewhere and good luck with these tickets.
Answer: I just cancelled my order because they never sent the tickets. At least you got yours so maybe they will be okay. I would call the arena where the event will be and ask them how many issues they have had with this company. I emailed five times and they always sent an automated response back. Then, when I was in a meeting at work they finally called and the number just read, "33333" when they called me. No return phone number... very strange. They left a message to call them so I did immediately after my meeting (15 minutes)... the automated system was up and did not allow me to speak with a person. Thus far, I have never spoken to a real person when I call their number. I disputed the purchase, got my money back and bought tickets for much less at StubHub. I was surprised because my last tickets at Stubhub were kind of expensive... but these tickets (McCartney) were not too crazy expensive. Anyway, best of luck, and I would make a back up plan.
Answer: You will get your tickets, but they will likely have someone else's name printed on them. Worst of all, they will most likely not be honored at the gate/box office. My advice is to get a refund NOW and buy tickets from a reputable outlet like Ticketmaster. City Online are thieves and scammers. See my review about James Taylor concert in Norfolk, Virginia.
Answer: Contact the venue, give them all the details on the tickets received and verify if U will be able to legitimately use the tickets, considering the issues with this company that are so overwhelming. My experience reviewing all the people who describe their issues with them is that even if the tickets are usable, the overpayment is so excessive that it would have been better dealing with the regular ticket outlet for the venue.
Answer: Yes Ann, you will get your tickets. You just over paid by a HUGE amount... but other then that, the company is legit. They are just robbers the way they do it... thats all. Have a good time and yes, at least now you learned a lesson (like all of us on this site);-)
