The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues with ticket delivery, refund policies, and customer service responsiveness. Many customers report being charged exorbitant fees, receiving invalid tickets, and facing unresponsive support channels, leading to frustrations and claims of being scammed. While some customers appreciate the variety of events offered, the overwhelming sentiment reflects a lack of trust and reliability. The company's rigid policies regarding refunds, particularly for postponed events, further exacerbate negative perceptions, suggesting a need for improved customer service and clearer communication.

Its ridiculous. First the ticket is 2 x the face value, then delivery options is one, email and that is a $14.50 service fee.
There is zero service and you cant change your ticket once you realize the ripoff
Ordered tix in November for an event on Feb. 13th. Now, less than 48hrs prior to the event I have no tix. I have used their "Live Chat" option three times. Each time I am told a different story and delivery date. We don't live in the venue city and have to travel. So, as of now we spent over $300 for two tix (horrible mark up and fees) and have nothing to show for it. STAY AWAY.
My wife ordered Garth Brooks tickets on Onlinecitytickets.com little did she know they are in US funds and they charged twice the amount for the tickets and 126 dollar service charge on 80 dollar tickets! As well as $6.95 email delivery? What kind of world do we live in that scam artists like this are aloud to rip off the hard working people?
They use ad's to make you think you are on a local venue site. They will absolutely not provide a refund. They show no mercy and screw you any way they can! Go thru any other company you can find.
This company is a joke! I ordered tickets on 1/25/16 and they were to have shipped 3-day air with UPS. The delivery date came and no tickets. I filed a report with UPS and attempted to call Online City Tickets. You cannot reach a rep unless your event is within 24-48 hours. You have to send an email and wait for a response. No response came on my order and so the next day I filed a dispute with PayPal. That got their attention and I got an email notice saying tickets were being overnighted - but still no call from anyone or response to my email - just an automatic shipping notice. 2 days later I get a call from a rep who wants to give me the tracking number. I told her a dispute had been filed and I was then transferred to a manager who told me he was sorry but phone calls are not a normal part of their customer service. When I asked about compensation he offered me $25 (against my order of $275) and said that was the best he could do. Today I get a call saying they will not issue my refund until I close my dispute with PayPal stating I am satisfied. Seriously this company has the worst follow-up and customer service I have dealt with. I would not recommend them to anyone!
I had purchased tickets for Carrie Underwood concert in November of 2014, for a February 2015 show. I selected section 5 for the venue, and when the tickets arrived they said section 19! I contacted my credit card company to explain that I needed the charges stopped. After fighting back and forth with my credit card company, and this ticket company, I have still lost and I'm stuck with the payment! The customer service is awful here! They are very rude and they hang up on you every single time! I wish I could afford to take them to court, but considering I'm stuck with a $700 charge, I am unable to. I am extremely unsatisfied with this company. After reading the rest of these reviews, I really do hope that there is a class action lawsuit against these people! This company should be shut down!
Bought tickets from online city tickets only to discover when we arrived to the concert that our seats had been resold twice by this company. Someone was already in our seats with the same tickets. Luckily the venue came thru and gave us tickets that were even better seats. I will never use this service again. But I am happy to report that after making me jump through many hoops, the ticket company did issue me a credit.
Are my tickets real, order #040-0097-8397, ticket #*******. Now that you have totally ripped me off I hope atleast the tickets are good. I really do not want to get there and they say NO! Amazing xmas present, turned into a nightmare! Please respond, so upset!
Was told I would be on the 50 yard line if I was at a football game and tickets are not for that section. When I called to figure it out I was told all sales r final. Dont buy here they don't help fix problem. They just say sorry like that does anything. Buy else where
Online city tickets purchased tickets to de leppard concert. The concert was cancelled by def leppard 10 minutes before the doors were to open. Contacted online city to receive a refund and they claim event postponed and will be rescheduled. My tickets are for 1/30/16 at the amway center. This was the date and time I set aside to go to this event. Def lepppard has cancelled most of there winter dates. Through March which is well documented. On many sites like rolling stone and other publications. This company has refused every effort to refund and resolve my issue and they have refused every attempt to correct this issue. This is fraud and theft. To Take money and not refund the money for a cancelled concert. I feel a class action lawsuit against these type of companies is coming soon. They refuse to refund money to purchasers for cancelled events or even if postponement. Purchasers are entitled to refunds and they may not be able to attend any future rescheduled event. Even have a 100 % money back guarantee.
The tickets were 2 days late, but other than that, everything went smoothly
You pay for the good things in life. Yes, cost was much more than face value, but I was willing to do that. Buying these tickets for a Christmas gift was worth the price. The email came immediately and download/print went perfect.
Shame on me for not paying better attention. I was so excited when the Peter Gabriel & Sting concert was announced and I jumped right on my computer to get tickets. I consider myself a savvy consumer, but I was fooled into thinking I was buying tickets through the venue. The website is set up to look just like Ticketmaster. I can not believe that I paid almost $125 in "service fees" for a $48 face value ticket. I received my tickets, which is to their credit, but the way that the sale is set up is completely a RIP OFF! I can't go back, but I won't be fooled again! I wish I had checked them out before I was duped. I could have FRONT ROW seats for what I paid for upper level nose bleed seats.
Whoa, so many extra charges... I' m never going to do business with them anymore!
Disgusted. I thought I was buying tickets through the actual venue. Tickets haven't even gone on sale yet. I haven't purchased concert tickets in 20 years. I was hoodwinked. They would not refund my money. This is a completely deceptive act and practice.
Tickets are sold for more than face value and mark-up is exorbitant. You might expect and not even mind that if you really have to get your hands on some highly sought-after tickets. But beware the estimated delivery date. From my own experience and those of other reviewers, it seems they make a practice of delivering tickets only a few days before the event. Their customer service will give you specious reasons for that involving the actual seller's not receiving the tickets until then -- but if that's the case it makes me think the sellers are delaying delivery in the hopes of a) selling the ticket for even more to someone else to make it worth refunding you your money, or b) obtaining tickets for lower than face value if the concert doesn't sell as well as anticipated and making even more money off you. In either case, your credit card will be charged immediately for something you will then anxiously wait months to see if you actually receive. My advice is to just stay away.
They suck monkey balls. For real. NEVER buy from them. I don't even want to give them one star, only giving them 1 star because you can't give them no stars. I called tickets.com to find out why it said my $30 tickets said they were $16. "You bought them from a third party" guess who that was? Online city tickets. They paid $91 total. I paid them $158 total. Nice to know these a-holes like to rip off good people but if anyone is reading this please don't buy from them. Avoid them at all costs
We bought tickets for Disney on ice tickets seemed to be a fair price maybe even a little cheaper then the competitors... got me and my sister and all our kids the tickets the price was ok I know many other sites have extra fees that's normal got the total seemed good clicked to order and after the payment went through an obnoxious fee amount was added that wasn't in the before total I mean an outrageous amount of money about the price of each ticket doubled called the customer service they wouldn't do anything wouldn't let us cancel or anything trust me go to tickets master or buy from stadium you would save your money and a headache!
I just bought 3 ticket to the Washington Wizards game on online city tickets and paid less than face. If you look you can find deals.
I bought Lower Level Tickets for a concert but received Bench tickets which a lot less valued. I called to get a refund but they didn't budge. After talking to them for a few hours they finally gave me SOME money back from service charge. It should be ALL the service charge because they didn't jack $#*! for service. All they did was send me $#*! tickets for extra money
Answer: In my case, they sent e-mail that the tickets would be forthcoming. When I failed to receive them the week before the concert, per e-mail download as promised, I called their #, the person on the other end told me that it was will-call at the box-office with the copy of the e-mail I needed to bring. The box office told me that as a 2nd line seller, they did not keep them there. When I called to ask why they did this to me and demanded re-imbursal, they sent the tickets per e-mail download THE DAY AFTER THE CONCERT. They tried to cover their tracks with the credit card company, the problem for them was that the time stamp of their sending the tickets reflected the day after the concert. So essentially, they are not even competent as rip-off artists.
Answer: So sorry to hear you have been conned by this outfit. Apparently sometimes they DO send valid tickets, so I hope you are one of the lucky ones. I suggest you tell your credit card company (by phone and IN WRITING) that you are disputing this charge. Also tell everyone you know to avoid this rip-off company. I know this doesnt help you now, but in the future buy tickets only from Ticketmaster (I've never had a problem with them). Good luck.
Answer: I couldn't even open the download so I called the number and all I got was an answering system to send email and I did but no reply from them so the next day a call about 50 times until I got someone. After getting transferred to 3 different people and waiting about an hour for the supervisor the guy told me no refunds are allowed but money is 100% guarantee if it doesn't work at the time of the event. So I'm praying to God they are good the event isn't until the end of November
Answer: They are scoundrels. I know where their office is and went by there recently. I am laying out a plan.
Answer: If you have already purchased your tickets from this outfit, good luck. They sent me tickets for a concert in Tennessee and I asked for and live in Florida. They said it was MY mistake and that I asked for TN. They supposedly tried to resell the tickets and couldn't so I was out $300.00 for two tickets. They have something like 130 complaints and are a scam outfit. Next time order elsewhere and good luck with these tickets.
Answer: I just cancelled my order because they never sent the tickets. At least you got yours so maybe they will be okay. I would call the arena where the event will be and ask them how many issues they have had with this company. I emailed five times and they always sent an automated response back. Then, when I was in a meeting at work they finally called and the number just read, "33333" when they called me. No return phone number... very strange. They left a message to call them so I did immediately after my meeting (15 minutes)... the automated system was up and did not allow me to speak with a person. Thus far, I have never spoken to a real person when I call their number. I disputed the purchase, got my money back and bought tickets for much less at StubHub. I was surprised because my last tickets at Stubhub were kind of expensive... but these tickets (McCartney) were not too crazy expensive. Anyway, best of luck, and I would make a back up plan.
Answer: You will get your tickets, but they will likely have someone else's name printed on them. Worst of all, they will most likely not be honored at the gate/box office. My advice is to get a refund NOW and buy tickets from a reputable outlet like Ticketmaster. City Online are thieves and scammers. See my review about James Taylor concert in Norfolk, Virginia.
Answer: Contact the venue, give them all the details on the tickets received and verify if U will be able to legitimately use the tickets, considering the issues with this company that are so overwhelming. My experience reviewing all the people who describe their issues with them is that even if the tickets are usable, the overpayment is so excessive that it would have been better dealing with the regular ticket outlet for the venue.
Answer: Yes Ann, you will get your tickets. You just over paid by a HUGE amount... but other then that, the company is legit. They are just robbers the way they do it... thats all. Have a good time and yes, at least now you learned a lesson (like all of us on this site);-)
