The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues with ticket delivery, refund policies, and customer service responsiveness. Many customers report being charged exorbitant fees, receiving invalid tickets, and facing unresponsive support channels, leading to frustrations and claims of being scammed. While some customers appreciate the variety of events offered, the overwhelming sentiment reflects a lack of trust and reliability. The company's rigid policies regarding refunds, particularly for postponed events, further exacerbate negative perceptions, suggesting a need for improved customer service and clearer communication.

I got tickets for July concert in the beginning of February; I got message after I paid that tickets would be delivered on July 15! 5 days before concert! I had to read "terms" carefully, it stated " the company has right to ship tickets 1 hour before event". Really? First time, last time! Never again.
My wife, somehow, was trying to get to Ticketmaster but ended up ordering from this company inadvertently. Tickets, including services charges and US exchange (weird considering the tickets were originally sold in CDN funds) worked out to 5 times face.
We got the seats we ordered within 4 days, and the tickets worked.
In a nutshell, from my experience, I would call the place a rip-off, but not a scam.
1st time using them... last time using them.
Looks like you're buying tickets from the ACTUAL venue but you are redirected to their website.
(Garth Brooks in Hamilton)
Way over priced! Priced in US$. BUYER BEWARE!
I wish I would have read these reviews before purchasing my tickets. Purchased Metallica tickets before they even went on sale. Spent a total of $250 (that amount includes the outrageous services fees) per ticket for floor general admission. I received the email download right away. I am just nervous that these tickets are not going to be any good with all the reviews. Usually when something is too good to be true its usually is. Wish me luck in August when the concert is.
Complete and total rip off.
$22.50 concert ticket
$27.60 service charge
$6.95 email charge
This is total B. S.
DO NOT ORDER TICKETS FROM THIS COMPANY!
I heard Paul Simon was coming to town and wanted to buy two tickets before they sold out, as a gift, so I wanted to make sure I got them.
Granted, it was my chronically inept ex who steered me to OnlineCityTickets. She knows all about the Web, texts all day every day. She is one with the virtual Universe
But I digress. After I decided the price was acceptable, I filled out all the usual stuff, I was then told there would be a $34 "service charge" PER TICKET. Normally, I would've flipped them off, but I went ahead and bought the tickets at what amounts to a 25% markup. I felt entitled to contact them and call them names, and even got an semi-apologetic response back.
I suppose they still use long-distance AOL dialup via 7k modem, and thats why a virtual, paperless ticket sent per email costs them $34 per.
I say be smart and surf the Web for a better, more reputable seller. Caveat emptor. Buyer beware. Trust, but verify. Be cognizant, don't be lazy.
Effing $34 "service charge" per ticket... I didn't know Bernie Sanders ran a "business" on the side... Ironcially, he's gonna have to pay a whole lot of taxes on his scam if he's president...
STAY AWAY!
On-Line City tickets is a scamming website! They present themselves as the box office for any venue and then add unbelievable surcharges. The ticket prices end up being 4-5 times the face value! They are scammers and will not help you on the phone.
As I have seen in other posts I thought I was buying from the venue how I was redirected to their website is unreal Thank God for Capitol One they are getting me my total refunded to me I recieved an expired American Express gift card with 2 white stickers on the card with the section, row and seats wrote on the card so called Capital 1 to dispute and the Manager from online city said the tickets were linked to the gift card well I thought ok and took her word for the ticket my daughters girlfriend had bought tickets too and she said she had actual tickets to call the Schottenstein center to see if they accepted the gift card and I talked to 6 different departments and no one had ever heard of a gift card ticket they finally sent my call to will call and there were no tickets for my name or " gift card # " for the concert I paid for so Again Thank You Capitol One for being an awesome Credit card Company!
First off these $#*!ers on the phone are little $#*!es because they are lying right to you. This site is a straight scam and i will be trying to take these stupid $#*!s to court
GO DIRECTLY TO THE VENUE TO PURCHASE TICKETS. THIS OUTFIT IS A RE-SELLER AND ADDS EXUBERANT SURCHARGES. BUT THAT ISN'T THE WORST PART; GOOD LUCK GETTING YOUR TICKETS. I PURCHASED TICKETS ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE AND WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE MY TICKETS ON OR BEFORE A SCHEDULED DATE. LIE. THEN I WAS TOLD I DID NOT HAVE MY TICKETS BECAUSE THE VENUE HAD NOT RELEASED THE TICKETS. LIE. STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS OUTFIT.
Went to what I thought was Pepsi Center/Denver's website to purchase tickets for Bruce Springsteen. Was shown a chart for stadium & ordered what I thought were 2 floor seats in a section to the left of the stage front (row AAA). Because the seats looked so great I paid $550 for each. Received the tickets today & they are for general admission & priced at $130. I called & spoke with customer service & tried to explain that I had ordered seats. They kept arguing with me that I had ordered general admission. I should have paid closer attention because the button I pushed was for seats but I guess during the checkout process, the site redirected or something & I ended up with general admission. I was so upset during the phone call with customer service I couldn't even remember what row I thought I had paid for. I couldn't remember anything at that point. My husband called Pepsi Center & was told Altitude Tickets are the only authorized sellers of venues there. Never buy from anyone else unless you really want to be screwed. I ended up paying $1500 (exorbitant handling fees too) for $260 general admission tickets.
I was under the impression that I was buying directly from the venue. It was a stupid and costly mistake. I ended up paying more than twice the price for each ticket. This site is unethical and disgusting.
First things first, if there was such thing as 0 stars that would be my rating.
I wish I read the reviews before I spent over $230. They double the price of any other website. You can definitely find anything you're looking for cheaper on a different site (Ticketmaster, stubhub).
The tickets I got were for a concert and I got them the day before the event! I called 2 days earlier and they said they're sorry and that they promised they would be available to print the next day.
But the week before that, I tried calling and it was impossible to get to talk to a live person. I thought it was a fake site. I'm glad I got them and they were real but it wasn't worth the panic or the cost. Whoever put 5 stars is 100% part of this scam. DO NOT TRUST ONLINE CITY TICKETS.
I ordered 2 tickets for the PBR this weekend in Kansas City and when I get to the sprint center I couldn't go in because they had no affiliation with the venue so my order# didn't help at all, I call the site and come to find out they cancelled my order with out notifying me, so on top of that and dealing with their sh*ty customer service they tried to make me buy 2 more tickets, but the problem is is that they had put the $200 hold on my bank account because they were processing a transaction for these people, it's been over a week since I ordered these tickets and I didn't get to go to the PBR and I am and have been out of $200 for over a week. Complete bullsh*t! Excuse the pun
I meant to cancel this order but instead hit confirm. I got in touch with them MINUTES later and have been given 0 help. To boot, I paid more than 2X for these tickets, for lawn seats, to a show that isn't even close to selling out. What's worse is that I paid $40 in service fees!
What a ripoff. SLIME.
They ripped me off I bought 3 tickets for the Detroit Monster Jam which they showed at $40 a piece they billed me $182 and I got 3 $15 tickets. They need to be arrested!
Bought Tickets from Online City Tickets was a bit worried they wouldn't be legit tickets but the tickets were good and we ended up with amazing seats! Thank you so much for the easy transaction and amazing view!
I won't even give a one. These people are fraudulent. I purchased concert tickets, tolld me my total was 180.00, referred my confirmation and it was 539.85. I now had to deal with my banks fraud department to dispute it. What a hassle! Steer clear of this company!
Its ridiculous. First the ticket is 2 x the face value, then delivery options is one, email and that is a $14.50 service fee.
There is zero service and you cant change your ticket once you realize the ripoff
Answer: In my case, they sent e-mail that the tickets would be forthcoming. When I failed to receive them the week before the concert, per e-mail download as promised, I called their #, the person on the other end told me that it was will-call at the box-office with the copy of the e-mail I needed to bring. The box office told me that as a 2nd line seller, they did not keep them there. When I called to ask why they did this to me and demanded re-imbursal, they sent the tickets per e-mail download THE DAY AFTER THE CONCERT. They tried to cover their tracks with the credit card company, the problem for them was that the time stamp of their sending the tickets reflected the day after the concert. So essentially, they are not even competent as rip-off artists.
Answer: So sorry to hear you have been conned by this outfit. Apparently sometimes they DO send valid tickets, so I hope you are one of the lucky ones. I suggest you tell your credit card company (by phone and IN WRITING) that you are disputing this charge. Also tell everyone you know to avoid this rip-off company. I know this doesnt help you now, but in the future buy tickets only from Ticketmaster (I've never had a problem with them). Good luck.
Answer: I couldn't even open the download so I called the number and all I got was an answering system to send email and I did but no reply from them so the next day a call about 50 times until I got someone. After getting transferred to 3 different people and waiting about an hour for the supervisor the guy told me no refunds are allowed but money is 100% guarantee if it doesn't work at the time of the event. So I'm praying to God they are good the event isn't until the end of November
Answer: They are scoundrels. I know where their office is and went by there recently. I am laying out a plan.
Answer: If you have already purchased your tickets from this outfit, good luck. They sent me tickets for a concert in Tennessee and I asked for and live in Florida. They said it was MY mistake and that I asked for TN. They supposedly tried to resell the tickets and couldn't so I was out $300.00 for two tickets. They have something like 130 complaints and are a scam outfit. Next time order elsewhere and good luck with these tickets.
Answer: I just cancelled my order because they never sent the tickets. At least you got yours so maybe they will be okay. I would call the arena where the event will be and ask them how many issues they have had with this company. I emailed five times and they always sent an automated response back. Then, when I was in a meeting at work they finally called and the number just read, "33333" when they called me. No return phone number... very strange. They left a message to call them so I did immediately after my meeting (15 minutes)... the automated system was up and did not allow me to speak with a person. Thus far, I have never spoken to a real person when I call their number. I disputed the purchase, got my money back and bought tickets for much less at StubHub. I was surprised because my last tickets at Stubhub were kind of expensive... but these tickets (McCartney) were not too crazy expensive. Anyway, best of luck, and I would make a back up plan.
Answer: You will get your tickets, but they will likely have someone else's name printed on them. Worst of all, they will most likely not be honored at the gate/box office. My advice is to get a refund NOW and buy tickets from a reputable outlet like Ticketmaster. City Online are thieves and scammers. See my review about James Taylor concert in Norfolk, Virginia.
Answer: Contact the venue, give them all the details on the tickets received and verify if U will be able to legitimately use the tickets, considering the issues with this company that are so overwhelming. My experience reviewing all the people who describe their issues with them is that even if the tickets are usable, the overpayment is so excessive that it would have been better dealing with the regular ticket outlet for the venue.
Answer: Yes Ann, you will get your tickets. You just over paid by a HUGE amount... but other then that, the company is legit. They are just robbers the way they do it... thats all. Have a good time and yes, at least now you learned a lesson (like all of us on this site);-)
