The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues with ticket delivery, refund policies, and customer service responsiveness. Many customers report being charged exorbitant fees, receiving invalid tickets, and facing unresponsive support channels, leading to frustrations and claims of being scammed. While some customers appreciate the variety of events offered, the overwhelming sentiment reflects a lack of trust and reliability. The company's rigid policies regarding refunds, particularly for postponed events, further exacerbate negative perceptions, suggesting a need for improved customer service and clearer communication.

I paid $303.00 total (include shipping and handling) for two tickets to watch the soccer game in An Arbor, MI (Real Madrid vs. Chelsea) and I got $55.00 tickets (each - price marked) in the very last row.
I ordered tickets on June 24th for Kenny Chesney and was guaranteed my tickets prior to June 30th however upon obtaining the tracking number via ups was told that my tickets are stuck in Canada. I call the company and they tell me I will be going to that concert and a refund of the shipping charge took place. I call again and the manager Chris states he wasn't God and I'm SOL. HE CANCELLED MY ORDER WITHOUT MY PERMISSION AND THE REFUND WON'T TAKE PLACE UNTIL AFTER THE CONCERT. I'M ANGRY AND EVERY REP AND MANAGER IS OKAY WITH WHAT TRANSPIRED TODAY.
Ordered tickets for Garth Brooks in a panic cause seats were filling. After, I received my email from online city tickets confirming my tickets but didn't tell me my seat and wouldn't get my tickets until two days before the show. I emailed online city tickets my concerns about how this didn't feel legit. They promptly emailed me back assuring me that there service were legit. Two days later another employee with online city tickets contacted me explaining things more thouroughly. I later got my tickets they were centre of the row on the floor I couldn't have asked for better seats.
Thanks for an awesome experience!
I too was scammed by this company. I ordered tickets to Boston for July 8th. And they sent me tickets for Foreigner for July 3rd. Called immediately back they would not correct there error and I was told I can take them because of no refunds. And wanted me to buy Boston tickets too. Just received confirmation for Foreigner on the 3rd. Flying my daughter in on July 7 from Seattle can't even take her to see what we planned. It was a surprise for her since I haven't seen her in over a year. Can't afford tickets because of these SCAMMERS! I'M IN TEARS!
They are a complete rip off. I was on the phone with them the same minute as I ordered the tickets. I ended up being on the phone with them for an entire day trying to solve an error in an order. Instead of resolving the error they just sent me tickets and said I clicked okay and accepted their policy so there was nothing they could do. I asked if I could sell the tickets with them, and they stated they are not a ticket reseller. They actually suggested I sell the tickets in Stub Hub.
Because of it I ate two tickets, was able to sell one on Stub Hub. Go somewhere else any where else avoid this. High fees no service and they belittle you in the process.
TOTAL SCAM! I purchased tickets for a Mother's Day gift and they ensured me that the tickets would arrive. Two days before the event they promised me via phone that the tickets would be ready in my email inbox the next day. I called customer service and was promised two more times the next day not to worry. Less than 24 hours to the event, they informed me that I would not receive my tickets and they were "sorry."
Please do not purchase anything from this company... I learned my lesson the hard way. And my mom did not get her Mother's Day gift.
I am very upset with ONLINECILYTICKETS. VERY VERY DIRTY! Their SERVICE CHARGES ARE OUTRAGES 202.77 on top of our tickets! THAT is ridiculous. WE WILL NEVER USE THIS EVER AGAIN! THEY ARE A SCAM... THIS IS A WARNING... DON'T EVER USE ONLINE CITY TICKETS
It asked for overall rating `******* but you have to click - it would be a big ZERO!
NOT ONLY THAT beware Canadians its a US site and charge US dollars and have nothing on their site stating this! NOTHING. Not only that - they have no one except recordings to speak with anyone! That too says it all.
We Want our money back! As I read from the other reviews... ONLINE CITY TICKETS ARE THE BIGGEST SCAMMERS ALIVE ` THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY Guarantees... stay away from these guys - they attached themselves to ticket master and that's how they got us! Thought it was in Canada. This site has to be taken off for good.
People to be very careful and know who they are dealing with. I can't believe I just allowed myself to get robbed by this company. I allowed myself to get duped by going to their site when it came up on top when searching Red Rocks. I didn't go to the the official site but to redrocks.amphitheatremorrison.com. It seemed strange but I figured maybe the concert was sold so Red Rocks directed me to a reseller. Crap! Pay attention! Tickets are still available! I overspent by almost $200 for 8 tickets to Big Head Todd.
I thought I was on the site for my local theatre in San Diego (the Civic Theatre). The price marked on the tickets were NOT the actual price of the tickets. ($62.50 + $9.25 handling fee seats listed as $95.) Then they add another fee on top of this. So each ticket skyrocketed to $127 each. None of this was clearly disclosed until I received the tickets in the mail. Highway robbery. "Lion King" customers beware.
I purchased tickets for Janet Jackson show of February, 2016. Tickets were purchased July, 2015. To date, no show, no refund! What a disservice to consumers! Shame on Janet Jackson, this company, and all who perpetrated this scam!
First off, read carefully. I didn't. I followed a link which my excited wife sent and didn't realize this was a third party resale site until after I bought. They tacked on an 84$ service fee and another 7$ to email the tickets, which were overpriced. The site is designed to mislead you and there is no way to ask for a refund, exchange or speak with a live person except through chat. No help if you have a problem, or in my case leave the web page and return and fail to notice that the date reset and your tickets became a Thursday night outing rather than use Friday night you originally selected. Buyer beware! Check your normal vendor sites and the venue first and save yourself the embarrassment and irritation which I experienced.
I went to a concert recently and made the mistake of purchasing a ticket online. This site, OnlineCityTickets.com, came up. I hit the dropdown to purchase just grass seating for $30.00. At the end of the transaction, there was no final dollar amount confirmation so I thought since I acknowledged the "grass seating" dropdown, that is what I was getting. Turned out they switched me to a $196 seat without my permission or knowledge. I only found out after they scanned the bar code on my phone. I was ripped off! Do not use!
$#*! these bastards, rip off. Bought 2 tix for an event the day and time they went on sale. $235 total for front row. Called me a few days later saying they couldn't secure my seats for whatever reason, I don't know. Said I could get seats 10 rows back and $10 back on each ticket or a full refund. After reading these reviews I went for the refund. I won't get to see my show but these $#*!s aren't getting my money.
Complete rip off. All over the website is money back guarantee jargon -- that is a lie. It doesn't just exceed the original ticket price, it is a gross operation. Do not give your money to these crooks.
A friend bought tkts for Wicked in Columbus off this site. They were 101.00 plus 30.00 each processing. We needed 1 more ticket so I got on Ticketmaster and was fortunate enough to get a tkt right behind us for 42.00 plus 12.50 processing. I called the Ohio Theater and they said you have to be very careful with party vendors. Well, believe me my friend along with the rest of us learned a very expensive lesson. A 55.00 ticket from Ticket master is now a 131.00 from online city tickets. Shame on you for taking advantage of people. Shame on us for not doing due dilligence.
I just noticed the price on Ticket Master. I think I should ask for a refund. The price printed on my tickets was just under Half the price I paid. If i was aware that you can by tickets and then sell them back suggesting your own price you would like to get for them... (which Happens to be the tickets I just bought). Than a service charge of 35.00$ per ticket was added on for fees. Than almost 7 dollars to be emailed. This company needs to go out of business.
Jeff
I had a charge made on my account that I didn't authorize by Online City Tickets. They wouldn't do ANYTHING to stop the transaction. They insisted I made the order and suggested I sell the tickets if I need the money.
First learn from my costly error. This is in fact a scam website. It leads you to believe that you are purchasing from the actually venue. Tried to contact company via live chat. Waiting a long time for responses. Tried calling they hung up on me. Basically told me I'm out of luck with my tickets that I don't have. I have called my bank to dispute the charges Save yourself from purchasing tickets from this scam business.
I bought tickets to see the wizard of oz for me and my mom for mothers a day! I spent $130 a ticket instead of $48... I currently work my first job (I'm 16) and I've been saving up my minimum wage paycheck a for a while. So upset!
Somehow ended up funneled to their website where I ended up paying more than double the cost of (better) regular priced tickets from ticketmaster WHICH ARE STILL AVAILABLE. Also I was sent from the Canadian site and no where does it say anything about US currency so that added another huge chunk of change to the total cost. This site should be illegal...
Answer: In my case, they sent e-mail that the tickets would be forthcoming. When I failed to receive them the week before the concert, per e-mail download as promised, I called their #, the person on the other end told me that it was will-call at the box-office with the copy of the e-mail I needed to bring. The box office told me that as a 2nd line seller, they did not keep them there. When I called to ask why they did this to me and demanded re-imbursal, they sent the tickets per e-mail download THE DAY AFTER THE CONCERT. They tried to cover their tracks with the credit card company, the problem for them was that the time stamp of their sending the tickets reflected the day after the concert. So essentially, they are not even competent as rip-off artists.
Answer: So sorry to hear you have been conned by this outfit. Apparently sometimes they DO send valid tickets, so I hope you are one of the lucky ones. I suggest you tell your credit card company (by phone and IN WRITING) that you are disputing this charge. Also tell everyone you know to avoid this rip-off company. I know this doesnt help you now, but in the future buy tickets only from Ticketmaster (I've never had a problem with them). Good luck.
Answer: I couldn't even open the download so I called the number and all I got was an answering system to send email and I did but no reply from them so the next day a call about 50 times until I got someone. After getting transferred to 3 different people and waiting about an hour for the supervisor the guy told me no refunds are allowed but money is 100% guarantee if it doesn't work at the time of the event. So I'm praying to God they are good the event isn't until the end of November
Answer: They are scoundrels. I know where their office is and went by there recently. I am laying out a plan.
Answer: If you have already purchased your tickets from this outfit, good luck. They sent me tickets for a concert in Tennessee and I asked for and live in Florida. They said it was MY mistake and that I asked for TN. They supposedly tried to resell the tickets and couldn't so I was out $300.00 for two tickets. They have something like 130 complaints and are a scam outfit. Next time order elsewhere and good luck with these tickets.
Answer: I just cancelled my order because they never sent the tickets. At least you got yours so maybe they will be okay. I would call the arena where the event will be and ask them how many issues they have had with this company. I emailed five times and they always sent an automated response back. Then, when I was in a meeting at work they finally called and the number just read, "33333" when they called me. No return phone number... very strange. They left a message to call them so I did immediately after my meeting (15 minutes)... the automated system was up and did not allow me to speak with a person. Thus far, I have never spoken to a real person when I call their number. I disputed the purchase, got my money back and bought tickets for much less at StubHub. I was surprised because my last tickets at Stubhub were kind of expensive... but these tickets (McCartney) were not too crazy expensive. Anyway, best of luck, and I would make a back up plan.
Answer: You will get your tickets, but they will likely have someone else's name printed on them. Worst of all, they will most likely not be honored at the gate/box office. My advice is to get a refund NOW and buy tickets from a reputable outlet like Ticketmaster. City Online are thieves and scammers. See my review about James Taylor concert in Norfolk, Virginia.
Answer: Contact the venue, give them all the details on the tickets received and verify if U will be able to legitimately use the tickets, considering the issues with this company that are so overwhelming. My experience reviewing all the people who describe their issues with them is that even if the tickets are usable, the overpayment is so excessive that it would have been better dealing with the regular ticket outlet for the venue.
Answer: Yes Ann, you will get your tickets. You just over paid by a HUGE amount... but other then that, the company is legit. They are just robbers the way they do it... thats all. Have a good time and yes, at least now you learned a lesson (like all of us on this site);-)
