The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

Recently after a move across country I used 3x's and then moved my merch to another venue. Offer up does not generate a lot of interest unless you "promote" your ad with money. For example 3 days for 7.95 and so on. To test this out I put on an ad with no promotions and on the day I sold my boat motors I saw someone wanted them on Offer Up. I received 20 notification on my other venue and 1 on Offer Up. I am closing my APP as of today.
The only reason why Offerup does not remove those 1, 2, 3, 4 yr old adds is because "without them, they would have close to zero Posts" By keeping those Years Old Adds Offerup's platform looks Popping off the Charts with many Sellers, which it is not and is only a Marketing Ploy, kinda like "FALSE ADVERTISEMENT" A person can spend hours messaging people who "never respond" because items don't exist. You also see MANY SCAMS IN PLAIN VIEW selling Cars or whatnot at ridiculous Low Prices with headlines that read: selling for Sick Aunt or Relative. BUYER BEWARE, Offerup does not Filter these adds, nor do they Flag them, and even allows those Scammers to Post Multi Adds with no repercussions. I for one do not fall for these Scams, but to see these Phishing Scams on this Supposedly Reputable Site is Disgusting. I feel for that unsuspecting Kid, Senior or Mentally Challenged person who will get caught up in these Scams is very disturbing.
While it is possible to sell and buy most items safely using this app, it can be dangerous to search for a vehicle using the app. The site is flooded with advertisements like the uploads attached to this review. Multiple people selling the same vehicle using different names while advertising extremely low prices for extremely good-looking vehicles, can lead to you being scammed. I have not fallen for this, and I hope everyone who uses this Application, proceeds with caution. I attempted to contact the company with my concerns and received a standardized automatic email response which implies that Offer Up does not really care or make an effort to stop this.
Offer up and cash app are the biggest scammers.
They help the scammers by letting them open an account without checking whether their info is legit.
Be careful do not use offer up and cash app.
Offer up and cash app are big scammers. Don't use them
My friend told me about offerup and I signed up to give a try. Messaged a seller and made a deal on a Fujifilm lens. Then my first offer was cancelled immediately but said the seller cancelled it. I reached out to the seller again and he had no idea what happened since that was his first sale as well. Then, I extended a second offer. Offerup popped up a message which says their support team needs to review the offer and will respond in 36 hours. Ok, I got it I am a new user. They want to be careful. So be it. The ridiculous thing is about a day later all of sudden I got an email from offerup accusing me 'violate' their policies. So, my account was disabled. I reached out to support team for explanation what exactly I violated. The first email from them were saying 'This transaction was canceled because we could not be confident that both parties would be happy with the outcome. We recommend buying and selling with other users on OfferUp in the future'? Ah, you are a platform. You are not 'confident' that me and the seller happy about a sale of mere $270?
Then I asked them to explain what exactly I violated. They responded vaguely with their violation link which I had no clue what I did wrong. They finally remind me I am prohibited to open another account. Another?! With you jokers? Are you kidding me? I have had enough with them in two days. Taking my business elsewhere. Good luck to you!
Work hard uploading Ad, Pics, Descr... Offerup then DELETES your ENTIRE account & ALL Listings without valid explanation, investigation or thoughtful work evaluating their own reasons and truth and justification as to WHY! EVERYTHING you tried to do in creating a good Ad is a -COMPLETE WASTE- with OfferUp. A Shxt Company.
They are constantly kicking people off for absolutely no reason. When you ask them why, they do not respond. My communications with buyers/seller have been fine, but Offer Up is the problem. STAY AWAY from OU! They are too involved in your transactions. I hope they close. Their ratings are terrible and it is obvious why.
Horrible company with bad customer service.my account got blocked after I respond to Rude racist customer. Someone was bullying me and they did not like my response so they block my account. When you send them an email you get a generic email back that they can do whatever they want without asking you.
I have tried using OfferUp now for the last couple of months.
The following are the issues i have found:
1. Sellers often don't get back to your offer for weeks or not at all.
2. Ads almost never get deleted even up to 1 year or more old
3. Sellers are Rude or Bad Attitude
4. Asks for too much Security on the 3rd login for the day
I recommend using CraigsList instead not so much drama!
This is the worst app I have ever used. It is defective in more ways than i can list in one review including not receiving notifications.
It is completely not user friendly, they should have adopted the Letgo app when OfferUp acquired them.
All I got was messages asking if I still had the item. Nobody responded after I responded. So, what's the deal? Are people just bored and use this to screw around?
This app is full of scammers. I have reported hundreds, and hundreds of scammers, but OfferUp administrators don't do anything. They don't even errase the scammers' posts, they just don't care about it. They just let the scammers do whatever they want.
Offer up is horrible. More fake listings then anything. Fake listings are easily spotted, so obviously the creators are simply too lazy to remove them as necessary. I sold hundreds of items on Letgo, and nothing since they merged with OfferUp. I'd give zero stars if I could. They absolutely SUCK!
Offer up is a joke. If I could rate them no Stars, they would get none. They allowed scammers to get ahold of my email address, Multiple times. I emailed them with complaints and screen shots. And instead of helping me deal with the scammers they shut down and blocked my account. Saying that I violated community guidelines. I think offer up is full of crap and needs to be shut down permanently
I bought a phone (a Samsung Galaxy s20 plus) from a Johnny out of Conroe, Texas on OfferUp. Turns out the darn thing is locked to an organization. So during setup, right after asking your language, it comes to a screen that states "This device belongs to your organization" then to a screen prompting me to enter either a server or an e-mail address. The seller answered only two of my twelve messages post sale and OfferUp itself has answered ZERO of my four messages. Inow have a phone I cannot even use for internet because I cannot get thru the damn setup! I HATE OfferUp and will NEVER use them to buy or sell again. I am a seller as well and I would NEVER do this to a buyer as i could not in good conscience receive that money and even if I could morally do something like that, the platforms I use to sell would KICK ME OFF for this behavior. As should OfferUp this seller. The seller is Johnny out of Conroe, Texas. BEWARE of Johnny and OfferUp!
Buyer beware offer up does not help you when you need it no one to talk to when robbed web site is real bad everyone sell things cheap asking for your phone number to robb you even more i just want my money back no fair do not buy here! The pic off full plane was his add the busted up junk is what i got da a hole all done by a $#*! named rick
I have sent many emails to OfferUp as I have not received my money on an item sold back in December they do not respond and I still have not received my money, bad business!
If you forget your password, you go down a rabbit hole of clicking images that help train there AI, with no compensation. I expect to be paid after all that work, but instead, I get rewarded after 20 minutes by being allowed to try another one of my passwords. Screw it, I don't want to logon THAT badly.
The pictures you see are the attempt for trying one password! And the last capture has a slow fade in and fade out of the small boxes that you have a verified, adding another three minutes to the ordeal.
I was searching for a specific pair of shoes and a seller on OfferUp had them. I created an account and chatted with the seller to determine if they were legit. They seemed to be so I purchased the shoes. We, the seller and I, both received a message stating my transaction was being held for review and they would get back to me. The seller said they would hold the shoes until they were paid. Fine with me. I came home from work the following day and found out my account had been deleted for violating their guidelines and policies. WHAT? All I did was chat with the seller to determine their authenticity, a good practice in this day and age, and make a purchase. No foul language. No request for personal information. Nothing wrong that I can determine. I appealed and was told the would not re-instate my account. I replied to them and told them they have earned the bad reputation they have.
OfferUp customer service has by far been one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had with a business. I have had numerous issues with my postings without any help whatsoever. I don't recommend using this platform and would steer people towards any other platform, such as Facebook, Craigslist, and Nextdoor.
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
