The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

$#*! Offerup. Someone go find the founders homes. Nobody can sell anything but these $#*!s get paid?
Sometimes you'll get lucky to find nice things like electronics at good deals, but OfferUp SUCKS. They do Absolutely Nothing to remove scammers even after you report them. There is litterally NO-ONE working for them except someone who owns the app and makes money by "items people promote". It's a free-for-all for scammers with fake ad's from everything from Cars, video cards, cell phones, amd gaming consoles. At least 50-60% of all ads on "popular" items are scams.
Hello, this is just sad because, I honestly thought it could be a great way to get a vehicle without the hassle! Well, wrong answer! To be frank, a mechanic told me about this site. I was like, what the heck let me try it. I looked into it, searched through the vehicles... ok, talked something over with loved ones. I was excited then boom... Fraud Mail with scammed alert attached.
Google search this without the quotes - "onfido offerup".
They were caught selling the personal information [driver's licenses] of hundreds of thousands of people last year, and they sold the info without permission and didn't even mention it in their terms of service. This is personal information obviously. And it isn't email addresses or phone numbers which is also bad - this is the literal Driver's license photos that users are required to scan to be allowed to communicate and sell on there. They violated that trust and for profit put their users at risk of identity theft.
They deserve a ZERO for that alone.
The app/company itself, for the short term I used them, was atrocious. Their workers do not know their own policies and so you will find your ad pulled down and given no reason as to why, and when you finally get a reply after sending 10+ emails, it is something that their own policies do not mention but what the worker himself "thinks" should be done. So your ad is pulled but if you search for the same item - there are tens of thousands being sold in the local area and those ads are not touched and the account is not banned either.
This is a garbage company all around. I wish that I knew about them selling personal info before I signed up with them though, I found this out after the fact, and it bugs me knowing that this company will sell it and doesn't care if it harms me.
Got a new phone, put in for password reset. Email came full of garbage no link to reset. Email offer up said they aware this is happening that was 10 days ago still no answer several emails … they suck! Can't sell going back to Craig's list. Should be offer little to no help
This woman (Aurora Zapata) around 49 years old to 55 years old wanted to buy a dress from me. At first I didn't want to sell it anymore and wanted to use Poshmark instead (more professional and less risk) - but I decided to sell to her since she was so persistent. She looks like a size medium or large but wanted to buy a small. Out of kindness, I kept trying to tell her the dress may not fit her abd she is best going on fashion nova site and ordering directly. Any ways, she took my new perfume (meant for my son for his Christmas present) in the bathroom when she was trying on items. She seemed restless and uneasy. Any ways I found out within 15 min of her leaving and asked her to come back and return the items she stole. Of course she said no and blocked me. I filed a police report. I know I shouldn't have let her in but she was an old lady that drove a white hummer so I'm thinking it was fine. She is harmless. I sent her file to the police (I found her on FB and LinkedIn). I won't get my item back so oh well. Hopefully this story will help.
She lives in Aurora or Denver and works as a front desk lady at a small lower end hotel/motel.
I filed a report with Offerup too but I'm not sure what they ended up doing. Im not able to see her communication with me on the app any longer. Offerup asked for the police report info etc. However I'm not sure what happened with this investigation.
The offer up staff sucks I get banned for reporting scammers the scammers post stay up.
Dont get mad get even. I will make fake post and drive any remaining good buyers nuts.
I hope all the good buyers leave and all offer up will have are scammers scamming scammers.
Seller lied about the item he sold me one day before leaving the country and returning to Saudi Arabia.
I must stop trusting people who insist they are honest.
All it gets me is screwed over.
I have used OfferUp for over 4 years and I have sold over 200 items and have 150 reviews with 5 star average. I got banned because my family made account for themselves, I contacted support but they don't allow to make 2 accounts even if it's another person. It's because we use the same internet. A few weeks my family also got their account banned. Just about the time to get banned, there are a lot of "scam" messages and it's about every third message. Also there is less people buying than a few years ago. About 20-30% less than 3 years ago. Nobody will use OfferUp soon. Go use FB Marketplace, you get more customers there and only rising
Lists the item and then you pay to promote and no buyers. Promotes scammers l, horrible site... Facebook marketplace is 10x better
I hope the folks who started LetGo realize their mistake because since they were absorbed by OfferUp, everything that was positive about selling my items has all but disappeared. This has to be the worst selling site yet. I've had more scammers trying to get my items than legit folks, and as time has gone by, I'm seeing and hearing NOTHING positive about the site. I was stupid enough to think it would be better than Craigslist, mainly due to more what I thought would be more exposure of my items to more buyers, and less monitoring of my ad than Craigslist. Turns out I was dead wrong. You can't simply remove your items because you just don't want to feature them on the site any longer, they only give you the option of sold or not sold; which creates an illusion that they are helping you sell your items. As well, the reviews stating that customer service is horrible are right on queue. I will soon be deleting my profile and posting my items elsewhere. I refuse to be seen as a scammer or a ripoff artist. I have items posted for giveaway and can't get anyone to take them. They look but that's all. My last response for an item I posted for sale was from someone who was out to get my item for nothing, and I got no help from OfferUp.
What a screwed up company this is, no idea how they run their business and for what! Looks like a money laundering type of business because no customer service, knock people out of the app, account without no reason. Their agenda must be different than just an online shopping app.!
Offer up closed my account for having multiple, accounts? I only have one account listed under 1 number but nobody is there to listen, after all it's their servers that screwed up!
Counting each account as multiple. Company collects taxes and fees but where is IRS? Nobody going after these crooks? Offer company harbors criminals, new sellers on the block with "0" feedback selling expensive items like iPads, expensive cameras but company don't give a $#*!! These people must be working for the Offer up - Partners in Crime!

Today is 11-15-2021, funds have not been released after contacting OfferUp three times.
They supposedly have buyer protection. I was missing 2 of the 4 items I bought and they said my claim was denied and the seller will get my money.
No way to reach them by phone.ive emailed twice. Bought something and person never shipped and now I'm out $85
Offerup does nothing on security and safety of their own client's, reported an ad that tried to scam me, two days later its still posted? Now scammer has 5 star reviews? Sold 5? Bought 10? From their own scams lol. And the shipping scam offerup makes you use is a ripoff worse then the scammers. Our company banned it from company phones.
It's too bad this great platform, it's supported by a bunch of moronic millennials enforcing random interpretations of community standards without any notice without any appeal without any correction. They just block you and shut you off. Although they get to have some fun with their hate, Theyll be back living in their moms basement when a company goes out of business because of their childishness.
I purchased a baby swing that was listed as good condition. It was mailed much later than it was supposed to be and it was missing the seat, so couldn't be used. The seller messaged abusive messages through the ap. OfferUp charged me and didn't respond to my complaint. I won't trust this app again.
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
