Don't deal with offerup they r corrupt!
I had bad experience with them when I was placing ads of me selling mattress n Wood Products. The staff went back n re-edit all my ads so I'm putting them on blast to kill their business. They don't deserve to be in business when they pull that $#*! with customers that support them. I hope people will read this ad I'm sure others went through same bad experience I had. Put on them on blast n spread bad reviews like wild fire to kill their business.
Offerup: Do not trust on ad tag in this app it's all scam. I got cheated in two ad's one FLEXASI and ebay all fake. They don't send confirmation email or order number. Be careful! Offerup is for PICKUP Stuff. There's no way communication with or customer service to complain.
If you wanna put in time and energy to build up an account and then get blocked and removed for no reason and never again get the chance to have your account back, OFFERUP is your platform to waste your time. They are a bunch of money grabbing people who would eat about 13% of every single sale you do on their platform. After you striving so much to collect positive reviews, the moment they feel you have put your trust in them and rely on the money you make on their website, they will disable your account under the pretext that you "have another active account" of "have violated" their rules. And will never provide any document proving your violation! Bulllsh*****t. It's beyond horrible to waste your time using offerup!
Never Heard of Offerup - Until they tried to steal over $300 from my bank account. They must illegally obtain info from Paypal or other online purchases, then use to take money from peoples bank accounts. I hope they are prosecuted very soon.
If you have been scammed from Offer Up please contact me at *******387. I'm hiring a Law Firm to look into several deceptive trade practices. If you would like to join my class action lawsuit against them please reach out to me.
They make the same thing as they're sellers, and they don't cover all the shipping fees btw, I would have been more happier using someone else like eBay.this was a waste of time. They don't even have a customer service number smh
Do not ever buy anything through their shipping. I bought an item that was claimed to be new and unused and received the item and it clearly had been used and had scratches and scuff marks. I tried to submit a claim through their buyer protection program and it would not let me because it kept stating that the item had to be received by me which it was. I contacted the seller who gave me the run around and then disabled his account. This company is bad news and I am out $110. Stay away.
Pros: Easy to list. Offers local pick up + shipping. Phone app easy to use. Can keep listings active for as long as you like.
Cons:
* Alot of scams on the site, and fake accounts ripping people off.
*Some of the advertisers listed on the site are scams.
* If using the shipping option, the selling fees are much higher than the competitor. Shipping fees also much higher. Lightweight items can be charged the same rate to ship as heavier items. The items I sell on OfferUp are, on an average, $4.50 higher than the same listing on a competitor site due to the fees and high cost shipping.
* If using the shipping item, it takes at least a week for OfferUp to credit a sale. Again, longer than a competitor.
* You cannot rate a buyer who fails to show up or causes problems. I think OfferUp should have this option bc it would cut down on scammers.
*The app does not allow you to delete messages. Very annoying.
I posted furniture on Offerup and received $13,400.89 in counterfeit checks. The checks looked very real and they used valid businesses with their routing number, account number, and valid signatures. I contacted the registered agents from the Secretary of State's website and both companies had identity theft. Have not been able to get in touch with anyone at Offerup.
So, I would beware when looking for something that looks like too good a deal to be true. I was looking for a used car a little while back. I came across a listing for a great price. Guy said he was selling the car for his mom and gave "her" email. I contacted it and got the response "we are selling it because our only son died in a bike accident 4 months ago... the son i just talked to?! Found another listing with an only son who died 2 months earlier in a bike accident... clearly both scams.
They remove all things guns but will take your money to post it on feature sale, but there letting people sell fake driver's licenses and inspection stickers on here. The only thing they don't sell on here yet is birth certificates and I'm pretty sure they're on her somewhere. Sell on MEWE or let go at least there they allow you to post things that are actually legal to sell.
If only there are 0 stars review, reported 2 possible scammers but their only reply is what you can read and find on their website and they didn't even take down the posted items on their website. I guess i will be going back to Mercari and Ebay.
Bought an IPhone 7 and the seller said it sold to someone else. Of course it was not unlocked and APPLE store needed a purchase receipt to help me. Seller never again responded.
Just bought an IPhone 6 which I thought would have no issues due to it being a 6, I was wrong! It was sim locked and I dont know what carrier. Of course seller wont answer messages.
I have reported it to OfferUp, but nothing has been done.
I recommend not buying a cellphone on Offer Up... I wont!
Offer up has a real problem with sellers. I have made a few trips to pick up or look At an item or pick it up. Drove over an hour to pick up an item sending messages through offer up once I told him I was there no more contacts. Seller got a good laugh posting is still up so he can do it to the next buyer. Offer up said the would make a note of it. Site is un safe no one has accountability Offer up will not shut them down try this crap on eBay or craigslist I have purchased things on offer up only when a home address is given. Just staying away from this site will get u home tonight
Hit & miss on people actually showing up. A lot of low all offers (under half of listed price even when reasonable and fair). A lot of items on the site which are sold but not cleared off the site. People post the item name but no description and searches don't produce enough. When I search by a price range, I get a lot of ads for the same items but WAY over my price range. A lot of doubles due to "promoted" feature Offer Up sells.
This is reply I received after contacting support, before purchasing an item I confirmed with the seller that they could ship the next day the seller said they could but then did not ship for several days, the person should've just said no. Anyway that was first and last purchase using offer up. I've had much better service with Mercari and Poshmark and have NEVER received such a rude email.
Be aware no seller protection. I sent my package on time to my local usps but I didn't wait in line to get a receipt since the package already had the tracking number. So they put in a cart to get shipped. Will it never got scanned. Offerup cancelled my item in the meantime it was shipped all along. The item arrived to its destination and I emailed offerup several times about the situation and they said that I would have to work out a deal with the buyer outside of offerup. That is very wrong because I have proof that the buyer said I received the item and thanking me for it. I will not be using offer up again!
The website intro and rules read well and is actually inspiring, but the follow through is nonexistent.
I went on looking for an item, then read all that and registered to sell some, but can't even download the app. Keep getting a loop that says wait 5 minutes. It's been 2 days, and I can't even get a response from the support department.
The reviews are mixed. Maybe this is why?
There are a variety of items that seem reasonable, and it' s a local market, which can be good, but lots of car and bike parts, which is a red flag, but they're all over Craigslist as well.
I'm already walking away because if I can't get a reply to a basic error message to finish setting up my account, what's the rest going to be like? If I download the app, are they going to want access to all of my private contacts etc like everyone else?
No thanks!
At least Craigslist works and is easy to use.
At least Craigslist is easy to set up...
I've sold many things on Offerup with no issues, locally, I just did an out of town sale for the first time. Buyer paid within 30 seconds and I have to wait 12 days for my money to load on PayPal? I don't see how people steal money and not send the product. My product and money have been held hostage...
I ordered my first item, a laptop, on offerup and the seller almost immediately marked it as shipped and added the tracking number. A day later, I check the tracking and it says pre-shipment, label created, usps waiting on package. So I check it again 5 days later. It still says the same thing, nothing has changed. I message the seller and I still haven't got a response back. So I look at where the package was sent from and call every post office in that city. None of them have received a package with my name on it. So I guessing this is some kind of new scam? All I know is I better get my money back because I'm poor af and I had to sell my phone to get the money for that laptop. I just really always wanted a laptop so I can do digital art and animation but it looks like my dreams are crushed.
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.
