If you forget your password, you go down a rabbit hole of clicking images that help train there AI, with no compensation. I expect to be paid after all that work, but instead, I get rewarded after 20 minutes by being allowed to try another one of my passwords. Screw it, I don't want to logon THAT badly.
The pictures you see are the attempt for trying one password! And the last capture has a slow fade in and fade out of the small boxes that you have a verified, adding another three minutes to the ordeal.
I'm not sure why the reviews are so bad but as for me as a new user it is completely awesome a few flaws easy fixes but it is a site that gets your goods out there an legitimate buyers that responded an showed up not like letgo where in my experience they play games I am very impressed with the site and will tell everyone i no how my experience has been with the site
I have two complaints. The app is supposed to let you know when you have a response about an item by showing a number by the Icon, such as a 1 for one message or 2 for two messages, etc. The problem is that the number remains there even after you've looked at and responded to the message so its impossible to tell if you have new ones or if the old number is still there.
The second problem is that its a fertile ground for scammers. People list items for a ridiculously LOW price and ask that you respond to their email rather than through the app because "they're listing for a relative (or friend)" or because they can't get messages through the app. They do not have anything to sell, they just want your email address. It is usually a car (a 2015 Lexus for $1,200, etc.) and there will only be one photo. I often go on and report them and can easily find 45-50 scam ads for cars. Offerup seems to do nothing to stop this.
I had some issues with the messaging before but it's all working great now. I've sold a few items on there and everything went smooth. I only sell to or buy from locals so i don't know how shipping stuff works out.
My first few local purchases were great - no complaints or problems! The last purchase I made wasnt worth anything. Upon arriving at the sellers house, my picks were already boxed up & I got the bums rush. I was literally rushed out, a guy put the box in my car - without my being able to look at anything! Was given impression he was watching football & wanted to get back to his game. Once Home, I discovered the books were from 35 to 50 years old - the picture & frame had no glass! My own fault for not saying wait a minute so I can check things. Valuable lesson learned - check things out before you hand someone your money!
This site is a waste of time. Most Sellers don't answer and just ignore your offers and questions. Not only that, but people price their stuff too high, and clearly from the endless pictures of item on dirty floor, nasty bedspread, or filthy stained carpet does not justify high price. Don't waste your time. Go on Ebay. It's still the best place to buy used and new stuff at great price if you are patient.
The app is easy and fun to use. Have yet to sell anything, though. As for buyer responses, you get very low ball offers, or people just messing with you. Had better luck with Craigslist. Also, I wish they would have a different chime for sales vs notifications. I guess it's to make sure you look at your phone reminding you of the app, because you're not sure if the chime your heard is indicating a sale or a notification.
I have sold a few items very quickly and met some incredible people. But be aware I ran into a scammer who tried to send me a Certified Check claiming only way to pay. He would have cleared my bank account if I would have deposited it
There is no oversight here. The only target and objective to spend money. Neither offerup or sellers care for "timely service"
The battle starts once you are charged. You will enter into a nebula with a black hole right at the center sucking you numb.
Dear OfferUp Team,
This is to verify my transaction number *******. My buyer have cancelled his order even right after OfferUp confirmed and I notified him that his item has been shipped out.
The package is its way to his address and seems like not only i wont get paid but also im loosing the phone i sold for $150.
OfferUp has not contact support number nor email.
If anyone can help me to retrieve the payment or at least redirect the package back to me. Really appreciate it.
I ordered a porcelain clock that arrived damaged and because I missed there deadline by 1 day as I was in the hospital and didn't see it, they refused a refund even though the seller was perfectly happy to give my money back. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I will never buy, sell or recommend there app again. Buyer guarantee my $#*!.
Buyer beware there's more scam artist on here they post the same pictures of the same stuff they're selling and have different names out there good luck if you buy. I am pretty much done with the OfferUp they Cannot control their side. They take pictures of my credit card and get all the information in the world on me. But nothing on the thieves out there and they're so easy to spot and they still won't get them all I'm finished with it. Look at the pictures I posted same phone by different people.
Totally disappointed the way OfferUp now is changing what it was at the beginning a really good neighbor to neighbor selling app. Ads and business post are out of control and the true is it lost the real essence of a neighborhood site. If my plan is to buy something new I will search other online sites instead of OfferUp that was meant to be for neighbors trying to sell goods they dont use anymore. Lately it becomes so annoying to search for something in OfferUp.
I have been selling stuff on "Let Go" for years. Once "Offer Up" purchased "Let Go," it has been a disaster. Terrible customer service. I sold an item and it was damaged while shipping. Offer up did NOTHING to protect my sale. No insurance on the package therefore, I do not get paid for the item and I also now have a damaged package that cannot be resold. I recommend working with Facebook marketplace or Posh. These are safe and more reliable for both seller and buyer.
I also sold another item and have not been paid. The package is showing delivered but OfferUp hasn't paid me for my sale. I have contacted them and gotten no response.
I bought an apple watch today on offer up. The seller accepted the offer and then said he was gonna start the shipping process. He later messaged me and said that he had a problem collecting the money! Mind you. I have a receipt and online banking saying otherwise. So aggravated. I can't cancel it and he keep saying that he can't cancel it the system won't let him... I hate people who steal... its so aggravating and is giving off broke vibes... I emailed support... nothing I will never order from here again..
For every item I've posted I'll get 10 messages about people "for sure wanting" item but not a single person shows up. Not to mention the grammar and type of messages being of such poor quality. This app is a waste of your time and effort!
I had my account for years, posted an item and they sent me a message the deleted my post. I contacted customer service asking for an explanation so it doesn't happen again and their response was blocking my account. I thought it was a selling site in which you can list your items but it seems like a scam operation. Stay away from this scam.
I never post anything duplicate, all of sudden they banned me from posting duplicate? What crummy service they have, I used to use Letgo & it was awesome they these offerup more like offer Down bought them & ever since they gone down hills in the cracker. I don't sell there any more since they are so rude & racist.
Don't use the App. It protects thieves and scammers by not allowing their negative reviews or negative comments be seen by other users.
So what's the point in using OfferUp if they don't share the negative reviews or comments to help buyers know when you have a scammer or thief using the App?
I wrote a negative review of this thief who goes by Lionel. He is a scammer. You can see there are NO negative comments on his profile which I left.
I think you're better off mowing your lawn at your house at least something got accomplished. Everyone on offer up once items for pennies on the dollar and most of them never even show up after setting an appointment! I'm sick of offer up giving me notifications on items I don't want to buy!
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
