There's a cap on medical malpractice requirements and you must pay another doctor to testify in NC. There is also a cap so you will spend more money than get, so no one will take the case. Therefore the hospital and doctors can kill you with no recourse. No medical malpractice insurance needed for doctors either. And now a family member is dead because numerous doctors ignored signs that I now found out should have been known.
I received a letter from collection stating I owned 25 dollars to novant health.I never received a bill from them when I called to ask they said O.O what.I just received a bill today for another visit that I got on June 29 telling me It was due on July 5.That's great billing, please get some proper help there.I sent out that bill on July 1 for 147.47.Just because it take you long to process doesn't mean you can abuse us billing us over and over. You should appreciate your customers and fix the issue.
I am a self pay cash patient which means you pay cash at the time of service and because of this, you get a discount. I had two visits to Novant Orthepedics where I paid my quoted amount at the time of service in full. A month later I received two more bills charging me more money which virtually took away the discount that I was suppose to receive. Totally unethical to go back for more money from me because they did not charge me enough at the time of my visit. I think that is there mistake, not mine so why I am responsible for it. And on top of that it took me three phone calls and four months to get a final answer about my bill from them. I will never go to another Novant health facility. If nothing else, their customer service is beyond awful. Beware!
Security is a joke at your Mt.Pleassnt hospital. My husband was admitted and treated in your emergency room. The clinical staff was superior, but I did not feel safe sitting in the lobby. You were security officer, a tall, thin, young, black man was completely sound asleep the entire time.
Then he got up and left.
My husband was admitted to the fifth floor and was there through an entire weekend.
When I would come visit him on the weekend your main entrance security guards, two different gentleman were each sound asleep, one on Saturday, one on Sunday.
I simply walked right by them got on the elevator went up to the fifth floor. What is wrong with you people!
It's a hospital for God sakes.
We went to Novant in hopes of receiving help. However, my daughter left crying because her physical feelings were completely invalidated. The doctor was rude and dismissive. We paid for the copay and then received another large bill a couple of days later. An absolute waste of time and money.
I was just in the hospital and I was discriminated by my color the nurses. Were saying it's always the black people the doctors were rude they put lies in my chart. They left throw up on my floor for two days and never cleaned it up. They would hang up and not answer the call bell and showed no empathy. The drs were judgmental before even getting to know my symptoms. I. Called for my meds to be bring in they took two hours and lied and said they were busy and I walked out my room and seen them laughing and talking about me being black this was the worst experience. They lied on my chart they were no help at all. I asked for a manger the manger came in with a attitude the manger showed no empathy in my situation this hospital needs to be reported they are racist and killing people they don't care about anyone if you are black and will sit and talk about you and mistreat you
Tony and Lisa R, on the 7th floor are the most disrespectful employees. Lisa feels that because she has a little bit of authority that it can't be stripped from her, but you can Lisa. When you treat people like they are less than, while working in the hospital is insane, or any position in the medical field. Just because you studied does not mean that you have a gift. Learn to treat people of all races, sex, and religions, with respect Lisa R. I will never come to this location again, I will go back to Matthews. In the future when you have a law or rule setup in a hospital, make sure that you are able to provide proper documentation before a visit, and also have it present in the hospital. Before you treat people like crap for Novants lack of information provided.
Eugene Wang Tried to convince me I was a drug addict with nerve damage when in reality I had a pinched nerve in my lower back. Which I also told him at the start of the meeting I thought it was a pinched nerve and he then circled around and focused on the fact I have 2-3 beers every 4-6 days and tried to convince me it was nerve damage and prescribed me withdrawal medication. Which of course did nothing and since then I have been doing a significant number of lower back stretches and the burning in my thighs has since ceased.
I visited Lexington Primary Care on 5-24-2023 for a wellness visit. I attempted to complete the questions on my forms before the visit but was unable to save because I refused to answer some of the personal information that had nothing to do with the visit. I was handed a clip board upon arrival and again I did not answer some of the dumb questions. I later checked my chart and found the questions had been answered for me which were not my answers. I filed a complaint on my chart and later received a phone call from a female who stated she could not help me but would have a patients advocate call me to discuss this. I still have heard nothing and find that it is a shame your answers are completed for you and what I would consider a fraud! I will be filing a complaint with the Medical Board if I have not heard from Novan by tomorrow which will be over a week!
I underwent retina surgery at Novant Health Charlotte NC Outpatient on April 10,2024, and while I have no complaints regarding the medical care I received from my doctor and the nursing staff, my experience with the billing department has been extremely frustrating.
I paid a co-pay of $919.00 on the day of the surgery, only for my insurance provider, Humana, to pay the entire bill on April 29,2024. Novant Health has acknowledged that I am owed a refund of over $800 due to this overpayment. However, as of October 15,2024, I am still waiting for this refund.
Despite my consistent efforts to resolve this issue—calling every two weeks, faxing the necessary receipts from Humana, and emailing proof of payment—I have seen zero progress. I even participated in a conference call with both Humana and Novant Health, yet the refund remains "in processing." It is disheartening that a healthcare provider can process a payment in less than six minutes but takes over six months to return funds owed to a senior patient living on a fixed income.
This experience serves as a warning to others: while the medical care may be satisfactory, be prepared for potential headaches with the billing department. Timeliness and customer service in this area need significant improvement. I hope Novant Health addresses these issues to ensure that future patients do not face the same challenges I have encountered. I am more likely to have Godo show up then the overpayment. Here's hoping for a Christmas Refund Miracle.
I called to make an appointment for a check up about some on going problems and a rx refill. I was mislead into believing that I was due for a physical. Physical missed much. No flu shot, cut meds when shouldn't, prescribed a med I can't use due to interactions, med needed not prescribed, sent to cardiologist when not needed. Insurance denied because I was not due a physical. Office says that the words "check up" and "physical" are the same. I only wanted physical if it was due and was not the reason for call to make appointment. Told I have to pay $450 and I didn't even get my problems taken care of. Worst office visit ever. I got scammed! Update: Novant admitted to their mistake and resubmitted the visit as a normal office visit and insurance covered it.
You'll get an undisclosed "Facility Bill" from Novant approximately 30-45 days after your visit that is not covered by insurance or applied to your deductible. Essentially you're being charged $25 for the privilege of walking through the front door to see your Doctor.
Novant has been, overall, extremely unhelpful. They made me jump through hoops for an itemised bill, did not offer any bill relief options, and were more than happy to hear about my financial struggle. I am at the point where I literally put into my medical ID to never bring me to a Novant facility.
I am writing to express my deep concern and dissatisfaction regarding a recent experience at Novant's facility located at 1900 Randolph, Suite 300 - Charlotte, NC This event, has left me profoundly disappointed. During my last night's sleep study appointment while I was sitting on the bed ready to begin it, I was presented and informed, at the last moment, via a written legal disclaimer form, that the CPAP machine being used is part of a June 2021 recall. (See attachment)
It is disconcerting that such critical information about the safety and reliability of the equipment was only disclosed at the eleventh hour, right before the sleep study. This lack of transparency is not only inconvenient but also poses serious health risks to patients relying on these machines for their well-being.
Furthermore, the inclusion of a legal disclaimer adds insult to injury, creating an impression that Novant, this facility and the professionals conducting the study are attempting to absolve themselves of responsibility rather than proactively addressing the issue, for which they have almost three years to resolve. Patients deserve to be informed about potential risks associated with medical equipment, and it is Novant's responsibility as a healthcare provider to prioritize patient safety.
I have been a patient at Novant Family Practice for several years. They are terrible about getting you an appointment when you need it! They refer you to go to ER! When you call they say, "we don't have any appointments available" I'm done with this! My records are pulled and I'm going where a practice puts patients first! Marla Bumgardner
I'm greatful for you'll hard work and dedication. I just have a problem with the staff that makes other staff members job difficult to perform. Talking down to one another and not showing team work. Residents can see this.Name calling and discrimination towards other staff should not be permitted at all! How are the staff members are supposed to smile and be pleasant to residents when own co-workers are being rude to them. This work is hard by itself, and don't need an $#*! hole to work with or around everyday. I will stay on this topic till someone that really cares notice to make and keep a working environment free from verbal abuse.
The experience I had with the emergency room recently was extremely horrible. Someone that comes in writhing with pain and lying on your floor crying should be attended to immediately! Got there at 2:30 am and stayed in waiting room until 6:00 am with excruciating pain calling out for someone to please help me. Staff walked by like I was not there. The care once I got in was no better. I will never recommend this hospital to anyone. Furthermore, I will tell anyone that will listen how horrible your hospital is.
Novant Occupational Health, Hickory Branch in High Point the absolute worst service ever. The Occupational Dr, William Keller should have his license revoked. Be blatantly wrote an ineffective letter for my workman's compensation claim that was quickly rejected after he claimed he didn't know how to write it and would not rewrite it. This is my second complaint against that office and I'm sure there will be more?
I have had to be on the phone with Novant multiple times. I get put on hold and cut off after waiting long periods of times. Once you get a worker, they are nice. I think the phone system is rigged to get you frustrated and then give up, at least this is what it feels like. It is just weird that it happend repeatedly no matter what the call was for. Finally, when I need customer service about bill information I just say I want to pay a bill. Amazingly, I don't get cut off!
I was told that I needed to wear a mask into the facility to have blood work done. I entered, put on the mask, and went back to the lab. There I find the technician with no mask on!
Also why the hell do you send out 6 notifications for a full panel blood work results? This is borderline harassment. 1 time will do just fine.
Answer: Because I was stupid clearly. Novant is the worst and not worth your time or money.
