I recently purchased a fire pit lid from northern tool the first one came in anf UPS did not do such a good job it was banged up. However they send a replacement. Although it was during the covid-19 pandemic but they still send me the replacement at a relatively short time. Period.
The customer service was very courteous and nice. I plan to purchase more items soon.
100% better than the stuff made in China and you're never sure if you ever going to get anything after you paid.

I ordered something on Monday and it didn't even ship out until the next Tuesday, when it was estimated to have been delivered to me by then. When I called on the Thursday after I ordered she told me it was on credit hold because my business address was different from billing address. (which in a business is not unusual.) I asked if they had tried to call and double check she said no. She told me it would ship out that day. On Tuesday I got an email saying it was shipping that day. UGH.
I called and again and all they could say is it went through another hold. Absolutely ridiculous. They will no longer get any of our business on website or in the store. I had called on that same tool box to the store in my city and the woman couldn't even walk over to the tool boxes and let me know if they had one the size I needed unless I could give her a number.
There's plenty of fine products made in China and elsewhere in the Far East, but my experience with this companies products has been uniformly bad. From the products and the customer service, this company stinks like 3-day old fish.
I have purchased a number of items from this company, one of which is their North Star sprayer. The items purchased have been of the highest quality, their prices are competitive, and their customer service including their techs has been very professional. Have recommended them to several of my fellow ranchers.
Made one order never shipped. Then placed another order they shipped two weeks late. Never wanted to use them again but had a gift card. Used that and three weeks later still not shipped. I swear on my life to never use northern again.
The store did no/t have in stock what we wanted. Said could order and have shipped to store within a week. We ordered on 4/18/21 it is now 5/2/21 and they do not have it yet, blaming the parent company. My transaction # is ******* at store #443. Called today they have the winch but not the hose reel. The store did not acknowledge with a phone call their situation, I had to call them. They got the hoist in but, now they say they do not know when the hose reel will be in. I have had good relationship with the store before, but to treat me with no concern of dropping the delivery of a product I paid for concerns me.
I just want to know when the $142 dollar hose reel will be delivered.
I ordered a shop press. The press weighs 100 lbs. The delivery instructions said that the driver would ring the doorbell to see where to put the box. The driver did not ring the bell, rather they left it out front for my 67 year old mother to wrestle into the house. They also left the package at the complete opposite side of the house from the door.
When we opened the package for Christmas to begin assembling the press, I discovered that the manufacturer had drilled 2 of the mounting holes on the wrong end of one of the main support beams. This makes it impossible to assemble the press. Northern tools will not do anything to rectify this issue
Do Not order from these people. Part not in store, was told it would take 1 1-/2 weeks to get it in. Paid for it to be shipped to the store. Checked back 2 weeks later and had not left to the distribution center. Check back 2 weeks after that and it has been sitting in the distribution center (which is 4 hours away) for 2 weeks. Employees both on the phone and in the store could care less. They have my money and I have nothing to show for it, just empty promises. My first and last purchase from Norther Tool.
After I discovered that the item I ordered was dangerous (unvented gas stove) I had to pay 113 dollars to ship back a 350 dollar stove. Also had to pay 44 to get it to my house. Reached out to them to try and get a partial refund on shipping. Got a rude response for "Shaun" I gave them the option of a partial refund or they can keep my money and fire Shaun. No success yet.
Terrible customer service, on hold for way too long. Website is not clear about extra charges for shipping (lift gate service). I purchased this and found out that the truck comes on the street and off loads the item, you have to take it from there. I have a long driveway and am 61 years old, pleaseeeeee. I could have ordered the item from Amazon and gotten FREE shipping. Delivery dates are a joke, when you order it says estimated delivery, ha ha Im still laughing. Ordered the item June 10 and it will be delivered July 10. A month WOW I could have had it from Amazon in three business days. Never ever again will I order from this terrible company.
I tried purchasing a Milwaukee tool that was in stock at the time of the order. After over a week I tried checking the status of the order and could find nothing. After waiting on hold for a very long time, I was told plainly and unsympathetically that the item was a special order and that the 'manufacturer' declared it obsolete. If you go online, they are still offering the item, except for a higher price tag. The customer service is just terrible. No notice for the cancelled order, and absolutely no recourse. I will never buy from Northern Tool for my business. Thanks for wasting my time.
They answer on customercare one time that they will provide my question to mr J. S****' and he answer " this was shipped to you" but it is not shipped, Now I get no answers from them.
Due to this site it feels like they are trying to loose their jobs!
Finally after threaten them with the chamber of commerce, I get all my ordered stuff, but it was taken a lot of effort time ande energy, took me 4 weeks extra. I was happy that the order was not too big
I purchased 6 adirondack chairs. My order date was 4/26/2021. I received my order sometime last summer (I didn't note the date). However it was late enough in the summer to not put the chairs together. I had the chairs stored in their box in the garage on a shelf. So this weekend, I opened the boxes to put the chairs together. Each box contained broken parts. The shipping material was very thin and clearly not effective. I assembled 5 chairs out of the lot and asked for replacement parts for the 6th chair. They no longer have any parts, I asked for a refund - I'm passed the warranty period, by 8 days... and i'm counting from the order date, not the receipt date. This company does not honor their quality of product. I purchased this product from Leigh Country. Leigh Country will not address the problem. Shop elsewhere. Note, from the picture below, the green highlighted items are the pieces that were broken.
They send me an Email titled In Store Fall Savings. Made special trip to store and nobody knew what I was talking about and wouldn't give me the prices in the email. False advertising and rude people. Will take my business somewhere else.
Ordered a solar panel. A wooden table was shipped instead. Called customer service, he told me to call the police. After about 20 calls I was transferred to Kristy. She told me that she will call me the next day, that never happened. Called again the lady told me they gave ma a credit on April 26th. I called my credit card company no credit was issued. I called again the lady on phone start calling me names (literally).
I filed a complaint with California Attorney general's office. The told me they have over 1000 complains about Northern tools. Dont buy from them, bad people, bad products, a bunch of crooks.
I ordered a tool box from Northern Tool ten days ago and have not received any shipment confirmation. Talked to customer service twice and got the standard 16 to 18 day shipping line. This is a freight item that will take 10 to 14 days enroute. Customer service was not interested in following up with the manufacturer to establish a shipping date. I cancelled the order and will not purchase from Northern tool again.
Great company to order from. You can be convenient with the products quality. We have ordered a number of different products that you would have to go to many different stores to find. All in one catalog.
Tires for trailer are of very poor quality after short term use they develop bubbles and have to be replace every 6 months. Tires are proprietor and you cannot buy higher quality tires elsewhere so you are stuck with Northern Tool poor quality tires.
They advertised a promotion for Milwaukee lights. I placed 2 orders I was charged and was told that it would be shipped in couple days. I heard nothing from them, called 6 times and was told my order will ship soon. Even had one customer service worker hang up on me after I asked a simple question. When I called today they told me they canceled my order even after I was told it would ship Monday. I will never buy from them again.
Northern Tools. Great customer service! Especially Derick Miles, I had a larger order of tools and he helped me with everything. I asked Derick if the brand of tools I was buying was good and he said yes. I believed Derick because of his experience with the tools. If I ever need any tools again I will definitely go back to northern tool and ask for Derick. Derick was over the top out going for me and the other people he was helping at the time.
Answer: Absolutely horrible, you get the rub around with emails containing same useless info from multiple people, shop elsewhere and save yourself the stress and anxiety
