I got my coat last month. I couldn't be more happier, best coat I ever had. It is very warm and it has faux fur. Their staff was very helpful as well, there's a little bit of delay with the delivery but it was all worth it.
I don't usually write reviews online but my overall experience made me do so. I got my coat from KS last year, there's a little bit delay with the delivery but I was sooooo thrilled when I received my coat! It's the perfect color and style :)

I received mine today, it's almost Spring. The people who lives in Canada may wear such a heavy coat if it's in Summer, but I don't.
The product itself is no bad. And I think the delay itself is not an issue also, because of this was crowd-funding, not a shop.
BUT, I'will never touch this company again.
They ignored all the messages and questions I sent.
No Product, No Tracking code, No Message, No Information, I received nothing from them. I've nerver seen such king of impolite company before. Please imagine, you ignored after you paid.
I believe that a company will make not only product and/or service, but make trust with customers. But they think that the trust is trash, I feel.
You may find ony good article in their web/twitter/facebook, but plase search kickstarter article *******@NorthAware tag on twitter. You can find many many hate about them. That's customer's voice.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. However, your review here is very exaggerated and untrue. You only ever submitted ONE ticket to our customer support team it was answered by a customer service rep a few hours later.
We ALWAYS focus on building a customer base that trusts and loves us. Unfortunately with our Kickstarter and some of the delays experienced, people were not happy despite the communication with our customers. They were never happy from the beginning and those are the negative voices you hear. Don't let 500-1000 negative backers out of almost 9,000 deter you. The 8,000 backers who were happy remain quiet because they're happy and continue on with every day life.
The jacket is fine. It's warm and well made. The company on the other hand is horrible. They either have no idea what they are doing, or they are just lying. I have a jacket, I needed to exchange. They promised, that they will do it, so I send it in. Then they refused to accept the delivery, and did not even bother to contact me, or say something. In the end, I have a jacket that is too big and I had to pay for the shipping to them, and also for the return shipping. Still, no explanation or excuse from North aware.

We're very sorry to hear of this experience. Our 3rd party warehouse at the time (separate company from us) would have been the one's to reject the parcel if it involves them paying for duty fees. We are not notified of this as it's the warehouse operation.
If the issue has not been solved, please let me know so I can solve this problem as quickly as possible.
Good job on adding water resistant pockets for the gloves and adding a bit of detail in the glass pocket and the devices section pockets, hope you can improve the hat pocket part, it's not that useful in my opinion

Ordered a bomber, realized I didn't need it anymore. So i returned it the day I received it. My rep was john. Things were going smoothly until the manager Richard stepped in. He claimed that John didn't proceed with the proper refund procedure. So i follow Richard's instructions, well the best I could. Just like their customer service support, the link was broken. I couldn't proceed with the proper refund. I've expressed my concerns through email. No reply at all from Richard or anyone else in regards to my refund. I feel like they scammed and holding my money hostage.

After i got my smart paka, i have never wore any of my old coats in my wardrobe ever. The delivery took longer than i expected but i never thought that the customer service would be this helpful throughout the process.

I received my coat last year and requested for an exchange on January. I got so busy the last few months and forgot about it. Last week I arrived home from travelling overseas and realized I didn't send my coat back for the exchange. I love the coat but the fitting was not right. I know that it was way beyond their 30 day exchange policy but I still tried to contact their customer service. I was so thrilled they honored my exchange, their warehouse is closed at the moment but i'm willing to wait since the winter is over. Really good service!

I was one of the backers for north aware's smart parka. A friend of mine actually recommended and showed me their page on Kickstarter and I immediately fell in love with their coat. It was such an innovative and amazing idea to have a coat with built in features that no one really thinks about but definitely can use. Now that I have my awesome coat. I use all of the features built in scarf, builtin hat pocket, built in gloves and all the pockets to keep my phone and glasses. I love it. I never carry a purse anymore and I had to exchange my gloves because the first ones were defective but North Aware offered to just send me a new pair because my other ones had a sizing issue and didnt work with touchscreen but the new ones I got fit well and their customer service is such a pleasure to deal with. They reply promptly and from the day I emailed about my gloves there was a new pair delivered in 4 days.

I personally am getting multiple emails saying it has sent and then further emails saying it has been delayed. Of course, they blame others for the delay but not themselves. When I pressed for a tracking number, I received a fake tracking number that is not recognized by the courier.
Also, they ads make it sound like the price will increase the next day so you have to buy the same day. It's NOT true!
Don't read the articles from early 2016 which made this company seem innovative and cool because it is NOT. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

1) Yes. Kickstarter companies often experience delays but they all received their products. The delays were constantly and consistently communicated with the backers of the project.
2) The changes to the coat during the campaign were also communicated and we had an opt out period for backers if they were not happy with the changes.
3) Fake tracking information? When we sent your code it simply was not live. It went live and you ended up receiving your coat.
This review is unfortunately filled with exaggerated and un-true information.
I originally ordered a white classic coat from them and was expecting a delivery in December... After several times checking for an update, they finally got back to me and told me the color and style I wanted is on back order and asked me if I wanted to get another color/style that is available. They didn't tell me what was exactly available so I asked specifically for a certain color and asked them to let me know if my choice was not available. Finally, I received my coat in February in the WRONG color.
The thing is, I understand, things can get messy and delays can happen, but I am really upset as I don't understand why they gave me the option to choose if they were going to send the wrong color anyway... Although I really liked the pocket zip on the sleeves where I can put my own gloves(the snaps of their glove were so weak it broke off in a week), the material is way too heavy, the hood is poorly designed... I will never ever buy from this company again with that price, that service and the fact that the coat is not what was originally promised.

The design flaws you reference have been noted and have been applied to our new Smart Parka 1.0. It is the new and improved version of the coat you received!
This company is dishonest and unethical and cannot run their business. I purchased one of their coats on kickstarter (never doing a kickstarter again) and it took months and months after their projected date to get the coat. Fine. I requested to return for a refund and they accepted. I mailed in the coat and the REJECTED the delivery (mailed to canada and had tracking number as per their request cost $70+). I inquired why and they said they were moving warehouses and I would have to wait to return. Ok... fine. I finally got the new address after hounding them for a couple months after the time they quoted. I returned the coat and they accepted. It's been about 9 months of me hounding them and they refuse to return my money. They will not respond to me despite me contacting them in new emails etc. This is almost $350 they owe me and no word. At this point I have given up. I've read several other reviews/experiences and hope people do a class action law suit. This company is a fraud--DO NOT BUY HERE! They have stolen my money. Guess I learned a big lesson.

Ordered my what was promised, to be the most amazing coat, ever. By the time winter hit, they had already taken away the features that seemed the most selling to me, the fur hood and down feather insulation. If you order something, and then that item doesnt come with part of what you ordered, why would I still pay the same amount? If you order food, and there is no side or drink as promised, they either give it to you, or refund you. ANYWAYS, coats were promised in September, then December, finally got it in February. Winter is basically over where I am. That being said, I had ordered two coats, and only one came in, with no gloves. I contact the company, they tell me its already been shipped, and that here's the tracking, normal crap. I track it, and a box comes in the next day or two. NOT my second coat! Its the gloves. OK, so where is my coat? Now that my best friend is wearing hers around (even though it isnt really water proof what so ever?!?!). Where is mine? I go back and forth for weeks trying to get a refund, it will be in your account next week, next week, 10 days, next week, bla bla bla. FINALLY I get my refund. Great. Got what I wanted eventually but I will NEVER, ever, recommend them or purchase from them.

I ordered two coats, one in March 2016 and the second in May 2016. Two coats were shipped and arrived late, January 2017 (should have arrived in October 2016). My request for a refund is submitted and accepted in February 23,2017. I ship the coats back on March 16,2017 and they arrive at North Aware on March 20,2017. I follow-up on March 30th and they replied that "refunds are processed within 10-15 business days. If it is after 10-15 business days, please email *******@northaware.com with proof your product has arrived and the customer support team will process the exchange or refund to complete the process." So I wait until April 11th and send a follow-up message. First they say they will process the refund in Oct 2017 when their warehouse re-opens. Then they say they are no longer issuing refunds and offered a new coat to be shipped in August/September 2017. I reiterated that I only wanted my refund. I have not heard back since. So currently, I'm in the hole about $600, with no refund and no coats.
I am not the only customer not receiving a refund. Several Kickstarter backers have complained to the business and North Aware has only responded with a boiler-plate message.
It is now Oct 2017 and I just sent another follow-up. Let's see what they come up with this time.
UPDATE Nov 2018: Still no refund and no response after multiple follow-ups. Definitely a SCAM.
