Impossible to enter a phone number for a review because it doesn't like them. They will send a postcard for verification what antiquated app crappe is this. But they will accept my credit card. This is b. S.
I learn a lot about ways to help solve problems. I love to see people on Nextdoor helping people with lost pets. I like the information our county representative gives us about issues concerning us and our neighborhoods.
They give so much power to a neighborhood "Lead" who is nothing more than the 1st person to join! My neighborhood has a Homeowners Association (HOA) but the Lead started the Nextdoor "neighborhood" with multiple areas & HOAs. I could understand if we had a small neighborhood but we have 140 lots which is more than the Nextdoor minimum! But our lead has "Blackballed" our request for our own neighborhood like an '80s fraternity! To make matters worse the "Lead" named our geographical neighborhood after the nearby cemetery. Try getting your neighbors to join an app & tell them they belong to the dead person neighborhood!
What ever you do don't join this site for PML. Toxic site that lets their leads control what they like and makes sure they keep the people they don't like off the site by reporting people. After enough complaints the company blocks you. The site is for childish crybabies. Do yourself a favor and skips this one
ND has inconsistent enforcement of the community rules. ND allows those with political favor to control access to the ND platform. My community's Leads of ND Platform in my community get people suspended for having opposite political positions. I have resolved to use Twitter & Facebook to share and receive information from my neighborhood & overall community.
I signed up for this service because it was recommended by the city that we live in for traffic alerts, street closings, etc. I signed up for the service, began to browse for vital information in my city, and only then found out that this website publishes your entire personal information for everyone in the community to see without divulging this to users before the sign up. Considering we pay for a non-published phone number and address, I was pretty upset to find all of my private information listed. I deactivated my account, and only then did I look for complaints about the company. Boy was I surprised to see the complaints on here.
I personally filed complaints with my state attorney general, the California attorney general, and the FTC, because I feel like our privacy has been violated. I'd suggest filing your own as well.
Worse than Facebook there was a lady that was going to open her restaurants during coronavirus shut down and I definitely disagreed with her and then she had me deleted permanently off of next door! And I've heard from other people that this woman would do this to anybody that disagreed with her. So basically turns into a very clicky sorority type of atmosphere other members of my family have tried to use Nextdoor and they could not because my address was permanently banned!
I was just banned because the site allowed me to sign in with my Facebook account. Some man clearly wearing pantyhose reported me for not using my real name. How is this even possible when their site allowed me to sign in using my Facebook account? The guy who complained was White and I'm not.
This site is a communist site! They support crybabies and losers! People start conversations or discussions then if you add facts or opinions they don't agree with, they "report" you! Then the site "suspends" your account or whatever! I and many other veterans fought to have the freedom of speech but this site apparently doesn't support the military, our veterans, or our right of freedom of speech! So, basically, if you use this site, you better keep your mouth shut, lol! No matter what ignorant thing others say. You aren't allowed to speak your mind!
The owner Danny DiTommaso answered calls right away, was clear about what his company was going to do. He handled coordinating our job in our absence, picked up the tile for us and sent me photos of our completed tile work, He was very respectful of our condo while doing the work…I highly recommend his company for your future tile projects.
Sad site pretty much just allows bullying and disrespect of neighbors. A lot of clueless and ignorance and obviously no one is monitoring and your address is pretty much available to anyone. No privacy features. Procede with caution. Looks like a lot of minors are taking over
My experience with NextDoor is that they will censor you if you speak your mind and share your experience if it happens to be negative towards HOAs and companies that advertised on their site/app.
They will censor you without any comments or explanations but they don't prevent people who work for the HOA or has any associating with one from sending you unsolicited nasty private messages.
A one way street that I don't want to live in.
I post a headline about something happing all over for parents to be aware of and they removed it, said it was because it was not out neighborhood. I though all parents need to now about dangers in the area.
The Nextdoor app is an awesome and convenient place to find out what's going on in your neighborhood as well as surrounding neighborhoods. Free classifieds are so helpful as well. It is an awesome way to meet and share/help neighbors.
I made the Uptight Lead-Lib laugh, everyone did, it was funny, but because it contained a vague reference to BLM (hint: not Bureau of Land Management) I get banned a week later?
Embarrassingly inadequate system, their Offense Bot should have found my joke and banned me last week.
Lame.
Not to rehash all the drama but we had a 17 year old chronically posting she needed a job. Numerous neighbors gave her leads and advise. The ingrate never even thanked anyone. She continued to bombard the site and it all started when I ( a pediatrician & mother of 2) told her that she had been given extensive leads and advise but did not seem very motivated. A few others had similar comments to her. Next thing I know I am blocked. We tried to get the app on my husbands email then my daughters and found out that basically our household was banned. This was many months ago. We have moved 30-40 miles away and were inv to join because our HOA uses it. I found out I am temporarily blocked due to a 17 year old and a few women saying I was a cyber bully. My husband and I are both doctors and Im a pediatrician for goodness sake but Im still banned. Didnt realize the people running Nextdoor were dictators. I think eventually they will be sued and I understand why.
Any free service IS selling YOUR data. It cost money to run these type of sites. If you create a NextDoor account, you gave up a TON of info starting with a valid email, cell#, and home address. This is golden to marketers. And even more so for criminal 'hackers' And yes NextDoor has suffered a breach exposing its users (well, victims) personal data, including CC# of those SO DUMB to put on their profile. (and that is at least one publicly disclosed breach. Could be others not disclosed.) "We take our users' data security seriously" is what every breached company says AFTER it let it all go bye-bye, thus proving it wasn't but now might be a priority. You NEVER see that statement released before an 'incident'.
Now that said, just because one pays for a service doesn't mean they aren't still selling your data. But they don't need to rely on it's as basic source of income.
I posted the link to the movie Vaxxed and it was flagged by one of the Leads. He said it was because of "commercialism". I simply posted because many want to see it and I only posted the link. It is obvious he is one of those that does not want people to see. He violated the 1st amendment. I personally have no opinion on this issue but feel everyone should have the right to their opinion. We can not allow our country to censor information.
If your lead or other libtards in your neghborhood don't like your views or opinions you will get reported and suspended or removed. Our "lead" bullied people, harassed peopleand was down right abusive. I am going to remove my account. Maritime Estates "lead" is Amanda Hall. She is a horrible person and will block and harass you until you give up.
A property developer and staff were cyberbullying anyone who posted photographs, videos, comments, or concerns about local crimes. This was in an attempt to keep property values high by avoiding documentation of actual crime levels. Nextdoor staff allowed this cyberbullying and then would block individuals who identified the bullies claiming they had a right to be anonymous and not be outed. Nextdoor sensors its comments and protects cyberbullies while not allowing actual accountability or documentation and community involvement.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
