This site is the PITS. I am sick and tired of reading all the offensive comments on this site by the crazy cultist MAGAts who STILL won't give up their worship of an EVIL RAPIST FELON SOCIOPATH who only wants to be president because he is has a raging case of grandiose narcissism and so he can again ENRICH HIMSELF AND HIS SPAWN USING OUR TAX DOLLARS AND ALSO...AVOID PRISON. This site is supposed to be NON POLITICAL AND I see political posts from the MAGAt cult on here ALL THE TIME---THE MODERATORS ARE SLEEPING ON THE JOB! This site is PATHETIC AND OFFENSIVE!
The only two times that I have posted an opinion that was legitimate, non-specific and general, I have been abused and harassed - specifically by the lead person! Not only did she insult me, bully me and abuse me but she also publicly threatened my business. I am considering a law suit.
Any site that asked you for your friend's contact list before you can complete the registration process is an invasion of privacy. Despite they calm you can control who you want to share your status. The moment you agreed they already full your list from your webmail account. Don't do it!
From alerting you to suspicious activity in the neighborhood, to recommended local businesses, this ap allows a sharing of knowledge and resources from others in your locale. It can alert you to yard sales or electricians; sexual predators or local events. A great place to come to help and be helped.
I like being connected to the neighbors and what is going on. The only negative I see is getting alerts when it is not an emergency... I would like to see things that need our immediate attention get an alert, and other events such as animal awareness follow the normal protocol.
Multiple neighbourhoods within the same city and no common community board/page. Looks very basic and so many noisy neighbour complaints. Would rather look for a better alternative. meneighbour.com looks better.
Cesspool of every horrible person you could imagine.
The company fanes Comunity but what actually happens is packs of male and female Karens come spreading misinformation and hate. If you mentions this to a moderator (the same ilk) you have your account put in time out. There is no appeal process. No way to contact the company.
Nextdoor spreading hate, racism, bigotry and misinformation with a passion!
I wanted to talk politics with my neighborhood members. I was told, that by guidelines I had to start a group in order to do that because of the danger of offending others.
( side note: WOW)
So I started a group, Constitution Defenders. Previous to starting the group, neighbors and I were getting along well. I contributed to many a discussion and got much positive feedback from my neighbors on things I did and said.
After my first post on why to defend the Constitution, I was getting no response. I called a few neighbors and was told I was not on the site. They had removed me and forgot to tell me. WOW, just like Facebook, restrictive.
Because of some complaints from people with certain political views, Nextdoor has shut down posts from those with other views. Funny thing is that Nextdoor ignored those people who used profanity, were nasty and insulting but just shut down those who were polite but had different political views. Nextdoor has a liberal agenda and is out to get your private info and sell it to advertisers. By the way: if you complain about the issues with Next-door to Next-door, Next-door will take it out on you and "punish" you, instead of resolving the issue. Definitely not an pro-American way of life site- very un-American!
I've learned so much about what's going on in the neighborhood (even if sometimes it seems to be the same people posting a lot of the tine.) It's a great way to keep abreast of whats going on and sometimes learn why things are happening the way they are. I find it to be a great tool to see what is happening in my particular neighborhood.
While I was a member of this website the lead (who is now on HOA board) used this website to organize attacks on fellow neighbors. The very first post he place on this website was about a neighbor who was upset with him for letting his dog crap in her yard. He proceeded to write nasty things about her and post her address so that everyone could harass her and walk their dog by her house.
He is now using this site to organized a gang stalking party against me since I have filed a discrimination complaint against him. Having site leads is a joke since he is the site lead and deletes anything he does like. This is just another tool available for people like him to bully and terrorize people.
When I download the app I looked around seen people gospel and people was asking for things. The point is I ask or help for my little girl; They was saying harsh remarks bullying in verbal is against policy right. But I also told I was disable and have ms and blind. They was really disrespectful
What a communist site. All the stuff is garbage that it posts. It's a political site disguised as a friendly next door neighbor helpful site. Now it's putting their political beliefs mixed in with paid advertising. What a piece of cr**. I have blocked it. BEWARE!
I don't know that there is a better way to do this, but I saw a Nextdoor as a grown-up, community version of Facebook. It has evolved into a childish, juvenile version of my space to some people. The good news is that no one is anonymous, but the bad news is that nobody wants to play by the rules, and inevitably we get to get messages about some perceived crisis or offering of services
I think that the site is terrific for sharing issues neighbors need/want to know, ie stranger/danger issues, lost pets, local concerns. I do not like the recent issues around begging for money or political opinions. Those should be reserved for GoFundMe or Facebook or another site.
NextDoor.com is a great value-added resource for our neighborhood. At first, you tend to look at it as Facebook for neighborhoods, but it is much more. Unlike 30 years ago, people don't come outside and visit much. Nextdoor is a way of getting to know who lives locally. Also, Nextdoor is a valuable source of info for contractors and services that others have used and have good experiences with.
I was a reluctant former admin when Nextdoor originated in the U. K. solely by being a former Streetlife.com member. I didn't ask to be admin on the Nextdoor replacement site, but decided to carry on as admin as I thought I was an honest broker. In my welcome letter to new me, beers I warned of the pitfalls of Nextdoor compared with street life, ie full name required, and locations easily established of individuals on street maps.
I found out recently I have been banished from Nextdoor without rhyme or reason, just the standard notification " account Disabled - Your account has been disabled for a violation of community guidelines". With no opportunity of redress, nor explanation for me to follow up. I can only think a malicious cowardly neighbour has taken a dislike to me.
I have now been reinstated.
I have benefited from being part of the Nextdoor community. I have seen pets and owners being reunited within the hour because of the quick alerts that people are able to post; I have used Nextdoor to sell stuff, to receive recommendations from my neighbors; it's always a great tool for crime watch.
After I expressed my reviews about a neighborhood burglary at Valencia reserve, The "Leader" called me at home screaming at me at 9:30 pm. Im considering filing a complaint for harassment with the local authorities.
Now they've locked me out and Im unable to obtain a new password.
Cencership is rampant on the board. All they want to hear about is the old lady who lost a sweater at the pool
The area in which I live is a very friendly one and Nextdoor adds to the ease of sharing that we all enjoy! It allows us to post collaboratively and share our ideas for improvement with our community. The Nextdoor "contact help" folks have been extremely helpful, and the leads with whom I've spoken have been very knowledgable. I recently became a lead myself and haven't had to edit/lock/remove a single post (really the way it should be because our neighborhood is pretty self-aware and self-monitoring). I am so happy to be part of our Nextdoor community and love all that Nextdoor offers!
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
