The leads on nextdoor moderate and block/delete any posts they don't agree with. I know people who had all their posts deleted by a lead, just because the lead didn't like them and didn't agree with truthful posts. I have had several posts deleted, for no reason and no notification. I have quit nextdoor, and advise any truthful person to do the same. Why stay with them if they hate you and only want to make money off you? If you are not on nextdoor, DON'T Join! When neighbors start talking, bad things happen. Nextdoor is anti conservative and hateful!

This anti-American San Francisco based social media tool is the absolute WORST when it comes to selectively censoring any comment no matter how polite that does not agree with all things liberal militancy. It is now dominated by Gestapo brown shirts that hate-bate, race-bate, bully, and then hypocritically gang up and label you as ignorant, hateful and even dangerous.

We are living in an era where freedom of speech, freedom of press and freedom to politely express your opinions on social media are under assault by social media platforms which are all based out of California. Nextdoor is the absolute worst!

Nextdoor is a good concept but where it runs into problems is if you don't think like the moderators. You can have comments removed for the most minor of things and they huddle under the rules of the site. There was a person shaming a poster for posting something he thought should be used as a google search. He said nextdoor should only be used for reporting loose dogs and such. I stepped up and told him the site was for any subject not just for dog running amok. Low and behold my post was reported and removed. This is not a community building site, when you cannot even stand up for a fellow neighbors right to post a question.

Make a File
December 7, 2019

I really like being a part of Next Door. It helps being apprised of what is going on in my community. Traffic updates are noted when I am going in areas that need to be avoided. Asking for help allows me to do so when I can. Most of all I recommend making a file and keeping recommendations from people that are happy with their services and places of interest. I have used my file marked NEXT DOOR several times with their recommendations and have been very happy.

A great way to get news in your neighborhood
November 5, 2019

I have some difficulty navigating the sight, could be more user friendly. I think maybe getting notifications other than by email. I am not sure I want to be notified if someone responds to an older post. I had 2 people having a conversation on my post that was unrelated to the post itself

Moved into a new neighborhood and found that the postings on NextDoor were very welcoming and helpful! If the neighborhood is too large, reduce your settings to only your neighborhood. Our neighborhood is active when it needs to be. Good way to communicate for new neighbors. Sorry others are having difficulty. We do not.

I like my Nextdoor.
May 9, 2019

I like having access to information about my neighborhood.
It seems to be especially helpful locating pets who get lost and found.
It was very helpful to get information about a proposed multi-family apartment complex that would have impacted our neighborhood very negatively with excess traffic and put a strain on the resources of our wonderful Bear Lake community.

Allows Bullying
March 11, 2022

A bully posted comments and my responses were deleted without anyone reaching out to me. My comments were respectful and did one contain any obscenities while allowing my bully to say whatever she wanted. This site is worse than Twitter

If they do not like your opinion they block your access, limit your first amendment rights. Extremely abusive app that silences people, and silences them during critical emergencies. We must stop using this App, it's controlled by tyrants.

I appreciate the site - a place where you can find out what is going on in the neighborhood. From missing a pet, stuff for sale, and reporting crimes. Also, I get to know who lives in my neighborhood.

Get to know your neighbors
July 19, 2019

Nextdoor has been a great tool for letting me know what is going on in the neighborhood. I have received help when I asked and found great helpers by answering "ads". I have recommended Nextdoor to several friends.

This app sucks and is so annoying. You don't need it. You gets tons of messages and emails. Most of which are not even in your neighborhood. The leads are self righteous pricks. Who needs more bull$&@ and bothersome emails in their lives? Plus there are privacy issues in my opinion.

Scam alert!
April 29, 2020

Next-door exposes you to the dregs of society, while giving your information to any scam-artist who appears legitimate. Their "policing" of community content allows fraudulent representation of businesses and individuals, while censoring accurate information that offends quasi-criminal enterprises. This isn't an accurate source of information, it's a rip-off waiting to happen.

Can be informative
December 21, 2019

This can be an interesting and informative app. Neighbors can often tell us about things happening in the neighborhood and city. From time to n time there are disturbing arguments but they can usually be skipped or avoided.

Not helpful
September 8, 2022

We live in a gated community surrounded by and included in a nextdoor neighborhood. Wanted them to exclude us from the neighborhood since we have no contact with those residents, so we could make our own neighborhood. They would not do that. They were unhelpful.

Nothing going on here! Nobody seems prepared to have much of a discussion which I believe is down to the issue of privacy and people are very wary of what they say. The "Lead" situation is ridiculous as they can delete conversations if it doesn't suit. The customer service attitude is take it or leave it and here are the instructions how to delete your account. BIG mistake!

My name is mj
January 19, 2018

I have just been blocked by nextdoor after having been signed up from the time they began in 2011. They have decided that they require my full name instead of the initials i use in spite of their own policy:
"Notable exceptions:
We recognize that some people are primarily known by something other than their given first name:
It would be acceptable for the catcher of the San Francisco Giants to use the name "Buster Posey" rather than Gerald Posey, the name on his birth certificate.
It would be acceptable for the football player "J. J. Watt" to use his initials as his first name, since that is how he introduces himself."

I was trying to do an ad on Nextdoor and there is no way to speak with a person and they make it very difficult to contact them, and then it is only by email. When the representative got back to me she confirmed that some of the videos and articles in their "Help" section are out of date. So, the only direct help they offer is via their help articles and videos and these no longer apply. Very frustrating.
