Racist Group
March 16, 2019

Next door is a reflection of the racist, bigoted society we live in. A small group of individuals is allowed to loosely apply the rules in order to elevate speech they like, and deactivate the accounts of people who speak out against racism. This comment are 100% correct!

I received an invitation to join Nextdoor, which claimed to be from my wife.
When I asked her about it, she said she had indeed accepted an invitation that appeared to be from someone in our neighborhood, but that when the Nextdoor web site asked if she wanted to invite friends, she checked NO.
The email I got said Debbie was inviting me to join, and even had a section at the bottom labeled, "Debbie's personal note:"
This is a complete violation, to imply that part of that message was a personal note from my wife, when in fact, she had nothing to do with it.
This seems shady at best. Very poor business practice.

Nextdoor Disaster
December 5, 2016

We once lived a real community and village atmosphere neighborhood now it's neighbor against neighbor. Nextdoor the slogan should "let the hate begin". What started out as a useful tool has now brought out the bullies. The Leads are the root of most our problems, one young man offered to help transport Christmas for free, his post was deleted only because he was Hispanic. There are also people posting who do not live in our neighbor, members who are posting from the grave and a large number of bogus names being used. Long term this will be affecting our property values.
SHAME on NEXTDOOR for not taking control and enforcing their OWN guide lines.

Try Kahuti instead
March 9, 2017

I had a quick look at Nextdoor when Street life closed. I was appalled that the default was to display full name and address and that the display of at least street name was mandatory. I contacted Nextdoor with my concerns and was not impressed with their 'take it or leave it - we now best' attitude. An ex street lifer found Kahuti and I joined straight away. It is still in it's infancy but the developers are responsive and listen to our views. There are no privacy or censorship issues and my area is already getting it's community feel back.

After using this app for many years, my account was permanently disabled for no reason. Also, many of my friends who speak with respect and kindness but disagree with many of the progressive viewpoints. However, the progressive side is allowed to post while the conservative side is not. It doesn't matter if we adhere to the guidelines or not, as there is always a fake reason why they chose to get rid of us. This two tier level of justice seems to parallel many other social media sites. Thank goodness that Elon bought X. At lease there is some freedom of speech left. I think that people are getting tired of ND's discrimination, and that's why their stock price is plummeting Maybe if they fix this flaw and allow the same level of free speech to all, their stock will go up!

Headache
November 8, 2018

Nextdoor Leads are way too subjective in their approach and get involved in petty things instead of handling/responding to things that become way too inappropriate. What should be helpful has turned into a complaint board and it seems way too many people look to make things about race or politics when it has nothing to do with the topic. Over it.

I was harassed by NEXTDOOR after I posted information about a reckless driver. All because I posted pictures of the person's face and license plate. Their excuse? " the person can not defend herself so not appropriate to take picture of her" REALLY? And she almost caused a terrible accident around our neighborhood. There's no freedom of expression within the respectful limits.

I recently moved and had to do change of address on all my accounts.
I changed address on three bank accounts on-line
I changed my Auto and medical insurance on the phone.
I changed all my on-line accounts on-line.
Nextdoor has three levels to get to the address change, then these Bozos' say they can't do anything until I send them a postcard back.
Guess what Nextdoor, you are not needed.
Good bye!

Neighbors get to communicate with neighbors. It is a helpful tool because unfortunately we have become a society that does not reach out and shake hands and say hello to our neighbors because of our so called "busy-ness". Through Next Door we can alert our neighbors of the good and the bad happenings so that we all stay informed and are alerted.

Marxist Mob Mentality
September 3, 2022

Nextdoor hast been taken over by Marxist mobs. They promote extremely authoritarian groupthink and conduct search and destroy missions against anyone who dares to disagree with their agenda. Stay away if you have any self-respect.

Do yourself a favor and don't even think about advertising with this company. They increased one of my zipcodes advertising rate from $30 to $336 per month without my approval. Plus, the open house posts NEVER worked.

Seems that some elitist members of the group shoot down anyone they dont personally like. So its not a good service to use. Id rather use something that doesnt expose my address either. Screw you elitists!

In theory, this should be a great app/website. In reality it's a place for everyone to complain about this or that. And somehow after signing up I immediately started getting spam/phishing emails. Literally within minutes. Not sure if that's just a coincidence. Also the site is VERY BUGGY.

Disabled Account
June 3, 2020

It is very sad when someone reports somebody who posted something hateful to the point of wishing them dead, but the one who reported it gets punished. This site has become cliquish and intolerant, seemingly ousting people whose opinions do not align with their preconceived notions. The moderators are self-absorbed and/or not approachable. They had a real chance of helping communication between members, instead, they are nothing more than a self-serving liberal cesspool, supporting bullies.

Very Informative
December 21, 2019

I am happy with the information given by neighbors regarding our neighborhood. I'm kept up to date regarding lost pets, wild animal sitings (bears, deer) and road conditions. This was very useful after our recent blizzard. Plus if there are any suspicious people wandering the streets.

I've had multiple threads deleted. I was not warned, notified, or given a reason afterward. When i contacted 3 neighborhood leads they either ignored me, passed the buck, or gave evasive non-answers. Very passive-aggressive.

ND has a "misinformation policy" re" COV19, which basically translates to... uphold status quo as dictated by mainstream govt and news, or we will censor you. Absolutely disgusting.

And the posts in my neighborhood feed... OMG, it is the most banal and pointless crap all day long. When I try to inject anything different or challenge the prevailing COV19 social programming, many members start shrieking hysterically, throw insults, report my posts, etc. Lot of people who are emotionally fragile and easily triggered and want discussions sanitized for their benefit.

Nextdoor has no customer support. They remove posts that follow guidelines simply because someone else doesn't like it never listening or viewing both sides. It's suppose to be a place to share information but its more bullying and gossipers than anything else. Will not return - save your time.

This is an opportunity to communicate with neighbors on a wide range of subjects- trade recommendations for local handyman or housecleaning, exchange puzzles, find out about strange noises or lost pets. Very useful.

I have a background in marketing, web analytics, and technology and so on. My community recently moved to Nextdoor. It is perfect for nosy, stuck up, social media craving, power hungry busy bodies. There are constant SPAM like postings from other adjoining communities. Poor organization for community documents. Perfect medium for people who don't have any sense of how to use social media. The leads are the worst. When they made the switch the board said, "It manages itself!" And, "It's FREE!" Read the fine print nothing is free! Nextdoor is collecting a copious amount of information from member's browsers. Your demographics, shopping history, websites visited,… They are building a marketing machine.
Before you login clear your cache or open an anonymous browser session. Don't link your Facebook account to it. Only provide the bare minimum info to actually have an account.
My community's site just had its first libelous post and I am sure there will be more to come…Yeah!
