My review is why is Nextdoor using my house to compare to a house that is listed for sale? Who gave them the right to use my house for this? My house is not for sale and unless it is taken down I will be contacting the BBB or have my attorney contact them!
Using my house which they are showing is a little less then the house that is listed demeans the sale of my house in the future. I will deleted my account so no further information is posted; however they cannot feel they can do whatever they want. This has made me very angry and has infringed upon my rights of privacy.!
I had my total access revoked without notice. I believe it was because I criticized their so called guidelines. My initial comment was writing about someone who was advocating for higher school property taxes. I stated that they were not property taxpayers since they lived in a low income subsidized rental complex. That post was removed by the lead, who just happened to be the renter! I then questioned the guidelines, and that is when I was totally cut off. That lead bragged that she had me kicked off Nextdoor.
I posted, "...^^^an opinion." and
"...^^^another opinion." which resulted in my suspension, and ultimate expulsion from this group. I was informed that my suspension would end September 14,2018. What's the date now? What's interesting is that now... the "Contact Us" link is inoperative... go figure.
I think it's been a real help finding local independent contractors for house repairs and auto mechanic suggestions. But it can be very charged for politics or having opinions that aren't mainstream. Great place for recommendations. Not so easy to use for finding like minded community connections or unbiased help, should you require it.
It is a sick website and poor excuse for a neighborhood "tool." Google "Nextdoor" - the search results push everything down except for the corporation's website. Trying to contact "Staff" is an exercise in circular blocking. They don't want you to contact them. The Leads are morons in my neighborhood.
The community of next door is comprised of nothing but people
A. Complaining bout packages stolen
B. Complaining bout no parking
C. Complaining or wrongly identifying people who could be threats in the neighborhood.
Very few people positively contribute to it. Stay away
I posted about someone tampering with my property and was brutally attacked by several people. I'm ashamed to call these people my neighbors. If you value your sanity and serenity, stay away
If you join, you will be thrown out of the network because you might defend yourself from abuse. So much for neighbors. The "monitors" love power over content without fact checking... just like our current US leadership. Don't waste your hope or time.
Funnily enough I got a letter (as in on paper) asking me to use this app. I did when I first moved to my neighborhood since I thought it was a pretty cool premise: check in or chat with neighbors without being the creepy person who goes house to house with jello molds to get a feel of who may be a good friend or not. (I kind of miss those days...)
The app is great for those who are in a good neighborhood or who have established friends that happen to live close by. But if you are a fish out of water, join at your own risk. The cliques in my neighborhood make high school seem tame and if you are a new person with ideas or even just input that changes those cliques' mindsets, consider yourself dead in the app. They bully you into silence, and if they know the admin of that area's Nextdoor app, you might as well uninstall anyway since they will complain to them until they kick you.
I got banned without warning for 2 months! There is no rhyme or reason to there banning! STAY away, if you have an opinion this is not the site for you!
We signed up for Nextdoor and immediatlely we started getting all kinds of Spam and unwanted emails. We tried to unsubscribe but to no avail. Do not use this app or site. They report your personal information to other members without your permission. There is no accountablity and no response when abuse is reported other than to kick you off their network.
Get ready for your neighbors to burn you at the stake. This is a dangerous company and as far as I can tell... NO ACCOUNTABILITY! Someone make this illegal.
The lead started to publically bully me, then private messages threatening me, then stalking me thru other neighbors, then SHOWED UP AT MY HOUSE TO THREATEN ME! I had to file a trespass order and this guy is still a lead!
I complained to Nextdoor after a single user claimed that I don't exist, so they reinstated my suspended account. This was after I posted a notice regarding outright lies being told by another user, who is probably the Nextdoor Lead. So I haven't posted anything since I was reinstated only to find out that I was suspended again because a second user says I don't exist. What was their motivation? This is BS.
Nextdoor sucks. The anonymous Leads decide which voices are heard on Nextdoor. If they don't like what you have to say they just claim that you are using a fake name and you are suspended without any warning. Then Nextdoor wants your ID faxed to them when you complain. Many government agencies use Nextdoor to alert citizens to road closures and emergencies. Now I don't get these notices. Nextdoor will fit in well with the Trump regime, since they decide what is Fake News.
I was recently suspended from Nextdoor without any advance notice. Now they want a photo ID to reinstate my account. My lawyer said not to send them anything. The Lead on my neighborhood site said that some anonymous neighbors claimed that I don't exist, even though I have been on Nextdoor for over three years since they verified my account. Frankly, this is bullshit. Nextdoor members have engaged in racial profiling in the past, and now they are silencing the voices they don't want to hear.
Got banned for opposing views without warning or notice. Tried to contact support and got nothing but automated responses with no resolution. What an awful experience. I am glad to see that I am not the only one who experienced this bias. This app should be banned from Google Play.
Agree with all the other reviews found. Speak your mind - and get booted off!
Administration is a bunch of losers who don't care what the situation is - they just care that someone complained and now you're outta there!
Can we say 'trump country'?
(Modified 2nd review) I have contacted the "Nextdoor" App and their Website Customer Service. I Told them I was be bullied by a "Lead" multiple times for my post and comments made on the site. I provided Proof at well. They have NOT SHOWN ANY COMPASSION OR DELETED the "LEAD" for Bulling or breaking their "Own" community Guidelines! I tried to post about sharing signs to boost moral by making signs that read, We support our Police, Fire, EMS and had our "City Logo" bc I made them, had them shipped I paid over 20.00 a sign. I asked if anyone wanted one I would be grateful for a donation to help with my cost. I was immediately Reported and my post was removed! Sadly many wanted the signs I found out after when I tried to post a question of why I was targeted?. I was shut down for "Fundraising " and "Soap Boxing". How is it fundraising if you cant make a profit? I have reached out to my lead and she will not respond. Only one lead continues to bully me and reports me and then blames it on the "Site or neighbors" funny now that I got a private message from another Lead that they can see her reporting all my items. Also since I live in a conservative state if you say anything they don't like you are harassed, bullied and- or removed immediately! This site is worse then FB and I have never felt so hurt and alone for a site that is supposed to bring people together!
If you are willing to tow the line with the progressive d-bags, then you are welcome on this site. Post any opposing views, then you are the wrath of the sites leads (admins), who are primarily hormonal, post-menopausal, left-leaning, annoying, "you don't care enough" white women. Too many posts accepted from the OMG! OMG! Crowd. The site sells your email to anyone who comes along, so beware of signing up.
I received an e-mail from the admin stating my account was flagged for not being my real address. I sent a snapshot of my drivers license just showing my name and address. Where do they get there information and how credible is that.
I was trying to promote my CBD business through Nextdoor and a "neighbor" flagged me as selling illegal product. CBD is legal in all 50 states! Doesn't matter. Banned. What a joke. I thought only social media bans at will.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
When neighbors start talking, good things happen.
